Let M be a module over a commutative ring R. In this paper, we continue our study of annihilating-submodule graph AG(M) which was introduced in (The Zariski topology-graph of modules over commutative rings, Comm. Algebra., 42 (2014), 3283{3296). AG(M) is a (undirected) graph in which a nonzero submodule N of M is a vertex if and only if there exists a nonzero proper submodule K of M such that NK = (0), where NK, the product of N and K, is defined by (N : M)(K : M)M and two distinct vertices N and K are adjacent if and only if NK = (0). We prove that if AG(M) is a tree, then either AG(M) is a star graph or a path of order 4 and in the latter case M\cong F\times ?S, where F is a simple module and S is a module with a unique non-trivial submodule. Moreover, we prove that if M is a cyclic module with at least three minimal prime submodules, then gr(AG(M)) = 3 and for every cyclic module M, cl(AG(M))\geq |Min(M)|.

Let $M$ be a module over a commutative ring $R$. The annihilating-submodule graph of $M$, denoted by $AG(M)$, is a simple graph in which a non-zero submodule $N$ of $M$ is a vertex if and only if there exists a non-zero proper submodule $K$ of $M$ such that $NK=(0)$, where $NK$, the product of $N$ and $K$, is denoted by $(N:M)(K:M)M$ and two distinct vertices $N$ and $K$ are adjacent if and only if $NK=(0)$. This graph is a submodule version of the annihilating-ideal graph and under some conditions, is isomorphic with an induced subgraph of the Zariski topology-graph $G(τ_T)$ which was introdu…
Let $G$ be a group with identity $e$. Let $R$ be a $G$-graded commutative ring and $M$ a graded $R$-module. In this paper, we introduce the concept of graded primary-like submodules as a new generalization of graded primary ideals and give some basic results about graded primary-like submodules of graded modules. Special attention has been paid, when graded submodules satisfies the gr-primeful property, to find extra properties of these graded submodules.

A proper submodule $N$ of $M$ is called a classical prime submodule, if for each $m\in M$ and elements $a,b\in R$, $abm\in N$ implies that $am\in N$ or $bm\in N$. We introduce the concept of "classical 2-absorbing submodules" as a generalization of "classical prime submodules." We say that a proper submodule $N$ of $M$ is a classical 2-absorbing submodule if whenever $a,b,c\in R$ and $m\in M$ with $abcm\in N$, then $abm\in N$ or $acm\in N$ or $bcm\in N$.

A number of results concerning these classes of graded submodules and their homogeneous components are given.
We count the number of submodules of an arbitrary module over a countable noetherian commutative ring. We give, along the way, a structural description of meager modules, which are defined as those that do not have the square of a simple module as subquotient. We deduce in particular a characterization of uniserial modules over commutative noetherian rings.

It is shown that a proper submodule $N$ of $M$ is a $2$-absorbing primary submodule if and only if whenever $I_1I_2K\subseteq N$ for some ideals $I_1…
We determine the metric dimension of the annihilating-ideal graph of a local finite commutative principal ring and a finite commutative principal ring with two maximal ideals. We also find the bounds for the metric dimension of the annihilating-ideal graph of an arbitrary finite commutative principal ring.
Let $R$ be a commutative ring and $M$ a non-zero $R$-module. We introduce the class of \emph{pseudo strongly hollow submodules} (\emph{PS-hollow submodules}, for short) of $M$. Inspired by the theory of modules with \emph{secondary representations}, we investigate modules which can be written as \emph{finite} sums of PS-hollow submodules. In particular, we provide existence and uniqueness theorems for the existence of \emph{minimal} PS-hollow strongly representations of modules over Artinian rings.

We present various properties and characterizations of this concept (especially in finitely generated faithful multiplication modules). Furthermore, we provide new classes of modules generalizing presimplifiable modules and justify their …

For commutative rings with identity, we introduce and study the concept of semi $r$-ideals which is a kind of generalization of both $r$-ideals and semiprime ideals. A proper ideal $I$ of a commutative ring $R$ is called semi $r$-ideal if whenever $a^{2}\in I$ and $Ann_{R}(a)=0$, then $a\in I$. Several properties and characterizations of this class of ideals are determined. In particular, we investigate semi $r$-ideal under various contexts of constructions such as direct products, localizations, homomorphic images, idealizations and amalagamations rings. We extend semi $r$-ideals of rings to …

In this study, we aim to introduce the concept of a 1-absorbing prime submodule of an unital module over a commutative ring with a non-zero identity. Let M be an R-module and N be a proper submodule of M. For all non-unit elements a, b in R and m in M if abm in N, either ab in (N : M) or m in N, then N is called 1-absorbing prime submodule of M. We show that the new concept is a generalization of prime submodules at the same time it is a kind of special 2-absorbing submodule. In addition to some properties of a 1-absorbing prime submodule, we obtain a characterization of it in a multiplication…
Let $R$ be a commutative ring with identity. For a finitely generated $R$-module $M$, the notion of associated prime submodules of $M$ is defined. It is shown that this notion inherits most of essential properties of the usual notion of associated prime ideals. In particular, it is proved that for a Noetherian multiplication module $M$, the set of associated prime submodules of $M$ coincides with the set of $M$-radicals of primary submodules of $M$ which appear in a minimal primary decomposition of the zero submodule of $M$. Also, Anderson's theorem [{\bf 2}] is extended to minimal prime submo…
In this paper, all rings are commutative with nonzero identity. Let $M$ be an $R$-module. A proper submodule $N$ of $M$ is called a classical prime submodule, if for each $m\in M$ and elements $a,b\in R$, $abm\in N$ implies that $am\in N$ or $bm\in N$. Let $ϕ:S(M)\to S(M)\cup{\emptyset}$ be a function where $S(M)$ is the set of all submodules of $M$. We introduce the concept of "$ϕ$-classical prime submodules". A proper submodule $N$ of $M$ is a $ϕ$-classical prime submodule if whenever $a,b\in R$ and $m\in M$ with $abm\in N\backslashϕ(N)$, then $am\in N$ or $bm\in N$.
In this study, all rings are commutative with non-zero identity and all modules are considered to be unital. Let $M$ be a left $R$-module. A proper submodule $N$ of $M$ is called an $S$-$weakly$ $prime$ submodule if $0_{M}\neq f(m)\in N$ implies that either $m\in N$ or $f(M)\subseteq N,$ where $f\in S=End(M)$ and $m\in M$. Some results concerning $S$-prime and $S$-weakly prime submodules are obtained. Then we study $S$-prime and $S$-weakly prime submodules of multiplication modules. Also for $R$-modules $M_{1}$ and $M_{2},$ we examine $S$-prime and $S$-weakly prime submodules of $M=M_{1}\times…
Let $R$ be a commutative ring with non-zero identity and $M$ be a unitary $R$-module. Let $\mathcal{S}(M)$ be the set of all submodules of $M$, and $ϕ:\mathcal{S}(M)\to \mathcal{S}(M)\cup \{\emptyset\}$ be a function. We say that a proper submodule $P$ of $M$ is a prime submodule relative to $ϕ$ or $ϕ$-prime submodule if $a\in R$, $x\in M$ with $ax\in P\setminus ϕ(P)$ implies that $a\in(P:_RM)$ or $x\in P$. So if we take $ϕ(N)=\emptyset$ for each $N\in\mathcal{S}(M)$, then a $ϕ$-prime submodule is exactly a prime submodule. Also if we consider $ϕ(N)=\{0\}$ for each submodule $N$ of $M$, then i…

We show that the new concept is a generalization of graded prime submodules at the same time it is a special graded $2$-absorbing su…
In this paper we continue our study of annihilating-ideal graph of commutative rings, that was introduced in Part I (see [5]). Let $R$ be a commutative ring with ${\Bbb{A}}(R)$ its set of ideals with nonzero annihilator and $Z(R)$ its set of zero divisors. The annihilating-ideal graph of $R$ is defined as the (undirected) graph ${\Bbb{AG}}(R)$ that its vertices are $\Bbb{A}(R)^* =\Bbb{A}(R)\hspace{-1mm}\setminus\{(0)\}$ in which for every distinct vertices $I$ and $J$, $I\hspace{-0.6mm}-\hspace{-1.7mm}-\hspace{-1.7mm}-\hspace{-0.5mm}J$ is an edge if and only if $IJ=(0)$. First, we study the di…

Moreover, we investigate the behavior of this structure under module homomorphisms, localizations, quotie…
Let $R$ be a commutative ring with ${\Bbb{A}}(R)$ its set of ideals with nonzero annihilator. In this paper and its sequel, we introduce and investigate the {\it annihilating-ideal graph} of $R$, denoted by ${\Bbb{AG}}(R)$. It is the (undirected) graph with vertices ${\Bbb{A}}(R)^*:={\Bbb{A}}(R)\setminus\{(0)\}$, and two distinct vertices $I$ and $J$ are adjacent if and only if $IJ=(0)$. First, we study some finiteness conditions of ${\Bbb{AG}}(R)$. For instance, it is shown that if $R$ is not a domain, then ${\Bbb{AG}}(R)$ has ACC (resp., DCC) on vertices if and only if $R$ is Noetherian (res…

We explore some basic properties of these classes of R-modules.
Let R be a commutative ring with identity. A prime submodule P of an R-module M is called coprimely structured if, whenever P is coprime to each element of an arbitrary family of submodules of M, the intersection of the family is not contained in P. An R-module M is called coprimely structured provided each prime submodule of M is coprimely structured. In this paper, properties of coprimely structured modules are examined. Severals results for coprimely structured finitely generated modules and coprimely structured multiplication modules are obtained.

We present various properties and characterizations of this concept (especially in finitely generated faithful multiplication modules). Moreover, the behavior of this structure under module homomorphisms, localizations, q…
Let $A\subset B$ be an extension of commutative reduced rings and $M\subset N$ an extension of positive commutative cancellative torsion-free monoids. We prove that $A$ is subintegrally closed in $B$ and $M$ is subintegrally closed in $N$ if and only if the group of invertible $A$-submodules of $B$ is isomorphic to the group of invertible $A[M]$-submodules of $B[N]$. In case $M=N$, we prove the same without the assumption that the ring extension is reduced.
Let $R$ be a commutative Noetherian ring. It is shown that $R$ is Artinian if and only if every $R$-module is good, if and only if every $R$-module is representable. As a result, it follows that every nonzero submodule of any representable $R$-module is representable if and only if $R$ is Artinian. This provides an answer to a question which is investigated in [{\bf 1}].
This paper is concerned with S-co-m modules which are a generalization of co-m modules. In section 2, we introduce the S-small and S-essential submodules of a unitary $R$-module $M$ over a commutative ring $R$ with $1\neq 0$ such that S is a multiplicatively closed subset of $R$. We prove that if $M$ is an S-co-m module satisfying the S-DAC and $N\leq M$, then $N\leq ^{S}_{e}M$ if and only if there exists $I\ll ^{S}R$ such that $s(0:_{M}I)\leq N\leq (0 :_{M}I)$ for some $s\in S$. Let $M$ be a faithful S-strong co-m $R$-module. We prove that if $N\ll ^{S}M$ then there exists an ideal $I\leq ^{S…
The purpose of the present paper is to prove some properties of the strongly irreducible submodules in the arithmetical and Noetherian modules over a commutative ring. The relationship among the families of strongly irreducible submodules, irreducible submodules, prime submodules and primal submodules is proved. Also, several new characterizations of the arithmetical modules are given. In the case when $R$ is Noetherian and $M$ is finitely generated, several characterizations of strongly irreducible submodules are included. Among other things, it is shown that when $N$ is a submodule of $M$ su…
