It is proved that an irreducible quasifinite $W_\infty$-module is a highest or lowest weight module or a module of the intermediate series; a uniformly bounded indecomposable weight $W_\infty$-module is a module of the intermediate series. For a nondegenerate additive subgroup $G$ of $F^n$, where $F$ is a field of characteristic zero, there is a simple Lie or associative algebra $W(G,n)^{(1)}$ spanned by differential operators $uD_1^{m_1}... D_n^{m_n}$ for $u\in F[G]$ (the group algebra), and $m_i\ge0$ with $\sum_{i=1}^n m_i\ge1$, where $D_i$ are degree operators. It is also proved that an indecomposable quasifinite weight $W(G,n)^{(1)}$-module is a module of the intermediate series if $G$ is not isomorphic to $Z$.
We classify the quasifinite highest weight modules over a family of subalgebras W_{\infty}^{n} of the central extension W_{1+\infty} of the Lie algebra of differential operators on the circle consisting of operators of order \geq n. We classify the unitary quasifinite highest weight modules over W_{\infty}=W_{\infty}^{1} and realize them in terms of unitary highest weight representations of the Lie algebra of infinite matrices with finitely many non-zero diagonals.
We prove that an irreducible quasifinite module over the central extension of the Lie algebra of $N\times N$-matrix differential operators on the circle is either a highest or lowest weight module or else a module of the intermediate series. Furthermore, we give a complete classification of indecomposable uniformly bounded modules.
For a nondegenerate additive subgroup $G$ of the $n$-dimensional vector space $F^n$ over an algebraically closed field $F$ of characteristic zero, there is an associative algebra and a Lie algebra of Weyl type $W(G,n)$ spanned by all differential operators $u D_1^{m_1}... D_n^{m_n}$ for $u\in F[G]$ (the group algebra), and $m_1,...,m_n \ge 0$, where $D_1, ...,D_n$ are degree operators. In this paper, it is proved that an irreducible quasifinite $W(\Z,1)$-module is either a highest or lowest weight module or else a module of the intermediate series; furthermore, a classification of uniformly bo…
We show that there are exactly two anti-involution $σ_{\pm}$ of the algebra of differential operators on the circle that are a multiple of $p(t\partial_t)$ preserving the principal gradation ($p\in\CC[x]$ non-constant). We classify the irreducible quasifinite highest weight representations of the central extension $\hat{\D}_p^{\pm}$ of the Lie subalgebra fixed by $-σ_{\pm}$. The most important cases are the subalgebras $\hat{\D}_x^{\pm}$ of $W_{\infty}$, that are obtained when $p(x)=x$. In these cases we realize the irreducible quasifinite highest weight modules in terms of highest weight repr…
In this paper, we first construct a Lie algebra $L$ from rank 3 quantum torus, and show that it is isomorphic to the core of EALAs of type $A_1$ with coordinates in rank 2 quantum torus. Then we construct two classes of irreducible ${\bf Z}$-graded highest weight representations, and give the necessary and sufficient conditions for these representations to be quasifinite. Next, we prove that they exhaust all the generalized highest weight irreducible ${\bf Z}$-graded quasifinite representations. As a consequence, we determine all the irreducible ${\bf Z}$-graded quasifinite representations wit…
Intrigued by a well-known theorem of Mathieu's on Harish-Chandra modules over the Virasoro algebra, we give an analogous result for a class of Block type Lie algebras $\BB$, where the parameter $q$ is a nonzero complex number. We also classify quasifinite irreducible highest weight $\BB$-modules and irreducible $\BB$-modules of the intermediate series. In particular, we obtain that an irreducible $\BB$-module of the intermediate series may be a nontrivial extension of a $\Vir$-module of the intermediate series if $q$ is half of a negative integer, where $\Vir$ is a subalgebra of $\BB$ isomorph…
A well-known theorem of Mathieu's states that a Harish-chandra module over the Virasoro algebra is either a highest weight module, a lowest weight module or a module of the intermediate series. It is proved in this paper that an analogous result also holds for the Lie algebra $\BB$ related to Block type, with basis {L_{\a,i},C|a,i\in\Z, i\ge0} and relations [L_{\a,i},L_{\b,j}]=((i+1)\b-(j+1)\a)L_{\a+\b,i+j}+\d_{\a+\b,0}\d_{i+j,0}\frac{\a^3-\a}{6}C, [C,L_{\a,i}]=0.Namely, an irreducible quasifinite $\BB$-module is either a highest weight module, a lowest weight module or a module of the interme…
We give a complete classification of the irreducible quasifinite modules for algebras of the form Vir \otimes A, where Vir is the Virasoro algebra and A is a Noetherian commutative associative unital algebra over the complex numbers. It is shown that all such modules are tensor products of generalized evaluation modules. We also give an explicit sufficient condition for a Verma module of Vir \otimes A to be reducible. In the case that A is an infinite-dimensional integral domain, this condition is also necessary.
We show that there are precisely two, up to conjugation, anti-involutions sigma_{\pm} of the algebra of differential operators on the circle preserving the principal gradation. We classify the irreducible quasifinite highest weight representations of the central extension \hat{D}^{\pm} of the Lie subalgebra of this algebra fixed by - sigma_{\pm}, and find the unitary ones. We realize them in terms of highest weight representations of the central extension of the Lie algebra of infinite matrices with finitely many non-zero diagonals over the truncated polynomial algebra C[u] / (u^{m+1}) and its…
Let B be the Lie algebra with basis {L_{i,j},C|i,j\in Z} and relations [L_{i,j},L_{k,l}]=((j+1)k-i(l+1))L_{i+k,j+l}+iδ_{i,-k}δ_{j+l,-2}C, [C,L_{i,j}]=0. It is proved that an irreducible highest weight B-module is quasifinite if and only if it is a proper quotient of a Verma module. For an additive subgroup G of the base field F, there corresponds to a Lie algebra B(G) of Block type. Given a totalorder \succ on G and a weight Λ, a Verma B(G)-module M(Λ,\succ) is defined. The irreducibility of M(Λ,\succ) is completely determined.
For a field $F$ of characteristic zero and an additive subgroup $G$ of $F$, a Lie algebra $B(G)$ of lock type is defined with basis $\{L_{a,i},c|a \in G, i>-2\}$ and relations $[L_{a,i},L_{b,j}]=((i+1)b-(j+1)a)L_{a+b,i+j}+a\d_{a,-b}\d_{i+j,-2}c, [c,L_{a,i}]=0.$ Given a total order $\succ$ on $G$ compatible with its group structure, and any $Λ\in B(G)_0^*$, a Verma $B(G)$-module $M(Λ,\succ)$ is defined, and the irreducibility of $M(Λ,\succ)$ is completely determined. Furthermore, it is proved that an irreducible highest weight $B(Z)$-module is quasifinite if and only if it is a proper quotient …
Using Lakshmibai-Seshadri paths, we give a combinatorial realization of the crystal basis of an extremal weight module of integral extremal weight over the quantized universal enveloping algebra associated to the infinite rank affine Lie algebra of type $B_{\infty}$, $C_{\infty}$, or $D_{\infty}$. Moreover, via this realization, we obtain an explicit description (in terms of Littlewood-Richardson coefficients) of how tensor products of these crystal bases decompose into connected components when their extremal weights are of nonnegative levels. These results, in types $B_{\infty}$, $C_{\infty}…
We re-examine the bijective correspondence between the set of isomorphism classes of ideals of the first Weyl algebra and associated quiver varieties (Calogero-Moser spaces) \cite{BW1, BW2}. We give a new explicit construction of this correspondence based on the notion of $\A$-envelope of a rank one torsion-free $A_1$-module. Though perhaps less geometric than other methods, our approach is much simpler and seems more natural from the point of view of deformation theory.
In this paper, we give a representation-theoretic interpretation of the specialization $E_{w_{\circ} λ} (q,\infty)$ of the nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomial $E_{w_{\circ} λ}(q,t)$ at $t=\infty$ in terms of the Demazure submodule $V_{w_\circ}^{-} (λ)$ of the level-zero extremal weight module $V(λ)$ over a quantum affine algebra of an arbitrary untwisted type, here, $λ$ is a dominant integral weight, and $w_{\circ}$ denotes the longest element in the finite Weyl group $W$. Also, for each $x \in W$, we obtain a combinatorial formula for the specialization $E_{x λ} (q, \infty)$ at $t=\infty$ of th…
Let $λ\in P^{+}$ be a level-zero dominant integral weight, and $w$ an arbitrary coset representative of minimal length for the cosets in $W/W_λ$, where $W_λ$ is the stabilizer of $λ$ in a finite Weyl group $W$. In this paper, we give a module $\mathbb{K}_{w}(λ)$ over the negative part of a quantum affine algebra whose graded character is identical to the specialization at $t = \infty$ of the nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomial $E_{w λ}(q,\,t)$ multiplied by a certain explicit finite product of rational functions of $q$ of the form $(1 - q^{-r})^{-1}$ for a positive integer $r$. This module $\mat…
In this paper, we explore natural connections among the representations of the extended affine Lie algebra $\widehat{sl_N}(\mathbb{C}_q)$ with $\mathbb{C}_q=\mathbb{C}_q[t_0^{\pm1},t_1^{\pm1}]$ an irrational quantum 2-torus, the simple affine vertex algebra $L_{\widehat{sl_{\infty}}}(\ell,0)$ with $\ell$ a positive integer, and Levi subgroups $G$ of $GL_\ell(\mathbb{C})$. First, we give a canonical isomorphism between the category of integrable restricted $\widehat{sl_N}(\mathbb{C}_q)$-modules of level $\ell$ and that of equivariant quasi $L_{\widehat{sl_{\infty}}}(\ell,0)$-modules. Second, we…
Let $I: L' \to L$ be a morphism of $L_\infty$-algebras. The goal of this paper is to describe restriction of scalars in the setting of $L_\infty$-modules and prove that it defines a functor $I^*: L\text{-mod} \to L'\text{-mod}$. A more abstract approach to this problem was recently given by Kraft-Schnitzer. In a subsequent paper, this result is applied to show that there is a well-defined $L_\infty$-module structure on the sutured annular Khovanov homology of a link in a thickened annulus.
Let $L$ be a link in a thickened annulus. Grigsby-Licata-Wehrli showed that the annular Khovanov homology of $L$ is equipped with an action of $sl_2(\wedge)$, the exterior current algebra of the Lie algebra $sl_2$. In this paper, we upgrade this result to the setting of $L_\infty$-algebras and modules. That is, we show that $sl_2(\wedge)$ is an $L_\infty$-algebra and that the annular Khovanov homology of $L$ is an $L_\infty$-module over $sl_2(\wedge)$. Up to $L_\infty$-quasi-isomorphism, this structure is invariant under Reidemeister moves. Finally, we include explicit formulas to compute the …
We classify the simple bounded weight modules of ${\mathfrak{sl}(\infty})$, ${\mathfrak{o}(\infty)}$ and ${\mathfrak{sp}(\infty)}$, and compute their annihilators in $U({\mathfrak{sl}(\infty}))$, $U({\mathfrak{o}(\infty))}$, $U({\mathfrak{sp}(\infty))}$, respectively.
We study the structure of bounded simple weight $\mathfrak{sl}(\infty)$-, $\mathfrak{o}(\infty)$-, $\mathfrak{sp}(\infty)$-modules, which have been recently classified in [6]. Given a splitting parabolic subalgebra $\mathfrak{p}$ of $\mathfrak{sl}(\infty)$, $\mathfrak{o}(\infty)$, $\mathfrak{sp}(\infty)$, we introduce the concepts of $\mathfrak{p}$-aligned and pseudo $\mathfrak{p}$-aligned $\mathfrak{sl}(\infty)$-, $\mathfrak{o}(\infty)$-, $\mathfrak{sp}(\infty)$-modules, and give necessary and sufficient conditions for bounded simple weight modules to be $\mathfrak{p}$-aligned or pseudo $\mat…
We investigate several categories of integrable $sl(\infty)$-, $o(\infty)$-, $sp(\infty)$-modules. In particular, we prove that the category of integrable $sl(\infty)$-, $o(\infty)$-, $sp(\infty)$-modules with finite-dimensional weight spaces is semisimple. The most interesting category we study is the category $\widetilde{\mathrm{Tens}}_{\mathfrak{g}}$ of tensor modules. Its objects $M$ are defined as integrable modules of finite Loewy length such that the algebraic dual $M^*$ is also integrable and of finite Loewy length. We prove that the simple objects of $\widetilde{\mathrm{Tens}}_{\mathf…
Motivated by recent developments of $\infty$-categorical theories related to differential graded (dg for short) Lie algebras, we develop a general framework for locally finite $\infty$-$\mathfrak{g}$-modules over a dg Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$. We show that the category of such locally finite $\infty$-$\mathfrak{g}$-modules is almost a model category in the sense of Vallette. As a homotopy theoretical generalization of Loday and Pirashvili's Lie algebra objects in the tensor category of linear maps, we further study weak Loday-Pirashvili modules consisting of $\infty$-morphisms from locally f…
We classify simple bounded weight modules over the complex simple Lie superalgebras $\mathfrak{sl}(\infty |\infty)$ and $\mathfrak{osp} (m | 2n)$, when at least one of $m$ and $n$ equals $\infty$. For $\mathfrak{osp} (m | 2n)$ such modules are of spinor-oscillator type, i.e., they combine into one the known classes of spinor $\mathfrak{o} (m)$-modules and oscillator-type $\mathfrak{sp} (2n)$-modules. In addition, we characterize the category of bounded weight modules over $\mathfrak{osp} (m | 2n)$ (under the assumption $\dim \, \mathfrak{osp} (m | 2n) = \infty$) by reducing its study to alread…
We give a criterion for the annihilator in U$(\frak{sl}(\infty))$ of a simple highest weight $\frak{sl}(\infty)$-module to be nonzero. As a consequence we show that, in contrast with the case of $\frak{sl}(n)$, the annihilator in U$(\frak{sl}(\infty))$ of any simple highest weight $\frak{sl}(\infty)$-module is integrable, i.e., coincides with the annihilator of an integrable $\frak{sl}(\infty)$-module. Furthermore, we define the class of ideal Borel subalgebras of $\frak{sl}(\infty)$, and prove that any prime integrable ideal in U$(\frak{sl}(\infty))$ is the annihilator of a simple $\frak b^0$…
We begin a study of the representation theory of quantum continuous $\mathfrak{gl}_\infty$, which we denote by $\mathcal E$. This algebra depends on two parameters and is a deformed version of the enveloping algebra of the Lie algebra of difference operators acting on the space of Laurent polynomials in one variable. Fundamental representations of $\mathcal E$ are labeled by a continuous parameter $u\in {\mathbb C}$. The representation theory of $\mathcal E$ has many properties familiar from the representation theory of $\mathfrak{gl}_\infty$: vector representations, Fock modules, semi-infinit…
Let $\mathfrak{g}=\mathfrak{sl}(\infty)$. We compute the annihilators of a class of simple integrable weight $\mathfrak{g}$-modules with finite-dimensional weight spaces. It is a claim of I. Dimitrov, that this class exhausts all simple integrable weight $\mathfrak{g}$-modules with finite-dimensional weight spaces. The main feature of interest is that Dimitrov's class of modules contains non highest weight modules. Here we provide another construction for these modules, which allows to apply results of [PP18] to compute such annihilators.
We study a category of modules over $\mathfrak{gl}(\infty)$ analogous to category $\mathcal O$. We fix adequate Cartan, Borel and Levi-type subalgebras $\mathfrak h, \mathfrak b$ and $\mathfrak l$ with $\mathfrak l \cong \mathfrak{gl}(\infty)^n$, and define $\mathcal O_{\mathsf{LA}}^{\mathfrak l}{\mathfrak{gl}(\infty)}$ to be the category of $\mathfrak h$-semisimple, $\mathfrak n$-nilpotent modules that satisfy a large annihilator condition as $\mathfrak l$-modules. Our main result is that these are highest weight categories in the sense of Cline, Parshall and Scott. We compute the simple mult…
We introduce and study the category of twisted modules over a triangular differential graded bocs. We show that in this category idempotents split, that it admits a natural structure of a Frobenius category, that a twisted module is homotopically trivial if and only if its underlying complex is acyclic, and that any homotopy equivalence of differential graded bocses determines an equivalence of the corresponding homotopy categories of twisted modules. The category of modules over an $A_{\infty}$-algebra is equivalent to the category of twisted modules over a triangular differential graded bocs…
In this article we initiate a systematic study of irreducible weight modules over direct limits of reductive Lie algebras, and in particular over the simple Lie algebras $A(\infty)$, $B(\infty)$, $C(\infty)$ and $D(\infty)$. Our main tool is the shadow method introduced recently in \cite{DMP}. The integrable irreducible modules are an important particular class and we give an explicit parametrization of the finite integrable modules which are analogues of finite-dimensional irreducible modules over reductive Lie algebras. We then introduce the more general class of pseudo highest weight module…
We consider the Whittaker modules $M_{1}(λ,μ)$ for the Weyl vertex algebra $M$, constructed in arXiv:1811.04649, where it was proved that these modules are irreducible for each finite cyclic orbifold $M^{\Bbb Z_n}$. In this paper, we consider the modules $M_{1}(λ,μ)$ as modules for the ${\Bbb Z}$-orbifold of $M$, denoted by $M^0$. $M^0$ is isomorphic to the vertex algebra $\mathcal W_{1+\infty, c=-1} = \mathcal M(2) \otimes M_1(1)$ which is the tensor product of the Heisenberg vertex algebra $M_1(1)$ and the singlet algebra $\mathcal M(2)$. Furthermore, these modules are also modules of the Li…
Let $Λ$ be an artin algebra and let $\mathcal{P}^{<\infty}_Λ$ the category of finitely generated right $Λ$-modules of finite projective dimension. We show that $\mathcal{P}^{<\infty}_Λ$ is contravariantly finite in $\rm mod\,Λ$ if and only if the direct sum $E$ of the indecomposable Ext-injective modules in $\mathcal{P}^{<\infty}_Λ$ form a tilting module in $\rm mod\,Λ$. Moreover, we show that in this case $E$ coincides with the direct sum of the minimal right $\mathcal{P}^{<\infty}_Λ$-approximations of the indecomposable $Λ$-injective modules and that the projective dimension of $E$ equal to …
We construct a new representation of the infinite rank Lie algebra $a_{\infty}$ with central charge $c=1$ on the Fock space $\mathit{F^{\otimes \frac{1}{2}}}$ of a single neutral fermion. We show that $\mathit{F^{\otimes \frac{1}{2}}}$ is a direct sum of irreducible integrable highest weight modules for $a_{\infty}$ with central charge $c=1$. We prove that as $a_{\infty}$ modules $\mathit{F^{\otimes \frac{1}{2}}}$ is isomorphic to the Fock space $\mathit{F^{\otimes 1}}$ of the charged free fermions. As a corollary we obtain the decompositions of certain irreducible highest weight modules for $…
We introduce and study new categories T(g,k)of integrable sl(\infty)-modules which depend on the choice of a certain reductive subalgebra k in g=sl(\infty). The simple objects of these categories are tensor modules as in the previously studied category, however, the choice of k provides more flexibility of nonsimple modules. We then choose k to have two infinite-dimensional diagonal blocks, and show that a certain injective object K(m|n) in T(g,k) realizes a categorical sl(\infty)-action on the integral category O(m|n) of the Lie superalgebra gl(m|n). We show that the socle of K(m|n) is genera…
We show that the stable module $\infty$-category of a finite group $G$ decomposes in three different ways as a limit of the stable module $\infty$-categories of certain subgroups of $G$. Analogously to Dwyer's terminology for homology decompositions, we call these the centraliser, normaliser, and subgroup decompositions. We construct centraliser and normaliser decompositions and extend the subgroup decomposition (constructed by Mathew) to more collections of subgroups. The key step in the proof is extending the stable module $\infty$-category to be defined for any $G$-space, then showing that …
The Lie superalgebra $W(\infty)$ is defined to be the direct limit of the simple finite-dimensional Cartan type Lie superalgebras $W(n)$ as $n$ goes to infinity, where $W(n)$ denotes the Lie superalgebra of superderivations of the Grassmann algebra $Λ(n)$. The zeroth component of $W(\infty)$ in its natural $\mathbb{Z}$-grading is isomorphic to $\mathfrak{gl}(\infty)$. In this paper, we initiate the study of the representation theory of $W(\infty)$. We study $\mathbb{Z}$-graded $W(\infty)$-modules, and we introduce a category $\mathbb{T}_W$ that is closely related to the Koszul category $\mathb…
Using combinatorics of Young tableaux, we give an explicit construction of irreducible graded modules over Khovanov-Lauda-Rouquier algebras $R$ and their cyclotomic quotients $R^λ$ of type $A_{n}$. Our construction is compatible with crystal structure. Let ${\mathbf B}(\infty)$ and ${\mathbf B}(λ)$ be the $U_q(\slm_{n+1})$-crystal consisting of marginally large tableaux and semistandard tableaux of shape $λ$, respectively. On the other hand, let ${\mathfrak B}(\infty)$ and ${\mathfrak B}(λ)$ be the $U_q(\slm_{n+1})$-crystals consisting of isomorphism classes of irreducible graded $R$-modules a…
Let g' and g be isomorphic to any two of the Lie algebras gl(infty), sl(infty), sp(infty), and so(infty). Let M be a simple tensor g-module. We introduce the notion of an embedding of g' into g of general tensor type and derive branching laws for triples g', g, and M, where the embedding of g' into g is of general tensor type. More precisely, since M is in general not semisimple as a g'-module, we determine the socle filtration of M over g'. Due to the description of embeddings of classical locally finite Lie algebras given by Dimitrov and Penkov, our results hold for all possible embeddings o…
We give a criterion for the complete reducibility of modules satisfying a composability condition for a meromorphic open-string vertex algebra $V$ using the first cohomology of the algebra. For a $V$-bimodule $M$, let $\hat{H}^{1}_{\infty}(V, M)$ be the first cohomology of $V$ with the coefficients in $M$. Let $\hat{Z}^{1}_{\infty}(V, M)$ be the subspace of $\hat{H}^{1}_{\infty}(V, M)$ canonically isomorphic to the space of derivations obtained from the zero mode of the right vertex operators of weight $1$ elements such that the difference between the skew-symmetric opposite action of the left…
We construct a family of irreducible representations of the quantum continuous $gl_\infty$ whose characters coincide with the characters of representations in the minimal models of the $W_n$ algebras of $gl_n$ type. In particular, we obtain a simple combinatorial model for all representations of the $W_n$-algebras appearing in the minimal models in terms of $n$ interrelating partitions.
The first main result is that the Casselman-Wallach Globalization of a real analytic family of Harish-Chandra modules is continuous in the parameter. Our proof of this result uses results from the thesis of Vincent van der Noort in several critical ways. In his thesis the holomorphic version of the result was proved in the case when the parameter space is a one dimensional complex manifold up to a branched covering. The second main result is a proof of the meromorphic continuation of $C^{\infty}$ Eisenstein series.using Langlands' results in the $K$ finite case as an application of the methods…
We find for each simple finitary Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ a category $\mathbb{T}_\mathfrak{g}$ of integrable modules in which the tensor product of copies of the natural and conatural modules are injective. The objects in $\mathbb{T}_\mathfrak{g}$ can be defined as the finite length absolute weight modules, where by absolute weight module we mean a module which is a weight module for every splitting Cartan subalgebra of $\mathfrak{g}$. The category $\mathbb{T}_\mathfrak{g}$ is Koszul in the sense that it is antiequivalent to the category of locally unitary finite-dimensional modules over a c…
We study ${\mathbb Z}$-graded thread $W^+$-modules $$V=\oplus_i V_i, \; \dim{V_i}=1, -\infty \le k< i < N\le +\infty, \; \dim{V_i}=0, \; {\rm \; otherwise},$$ over the positive part $W^+$ of the Witt (Virasoro) algebra $W$. There is well-known example of infinite-dimensional ($k=-\infty, N=\infty$) two-parametric family $V_{λ, μ}$ of $W^+$-modules induced by the twisted $W$-action on tensor densities $P(x)x^μ(dx)^{-λ}, μ, λ\in {\mathbb K}, P(x) \in {\mathbb K}[t]$. Another family $C_{α, β}$ of $W^+$-modules is defined by the action of two multiplicative generators $e_1, e_2$ of $W^+$ as $e_1f_…
The Cherednik-Orr conjecture expresses the $t\to\infty$ limit of the nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials in terms of the PBW twisted characters of the affine level one Demazure modules. We prove this conjecture in several special cases.
In recent years different aspects of categorification of the boson-fermion correspondence have been studied. In this paper we propose a categorification of the boson-fermion correspondence based on the category of tensor modules of the Lie algebra $sl(\infty)$ of finitary infinite matrices. By $\mathbb T^+$ we denote the category of "polynomial" tensor $sl(\infty)$-modules. There is a natural "creation" functor $\mathcal T_N: \mathbb T^+\to \mathbb T^+$, $M\mapsto N\otimes M,\quad M,N\in \mathbb T^+$. The key idea of the paper is to employ the entire category $\mathbb T$ of tensor $sl(\infty)$…
We give a necessary condition of degeneration via matrix representations, and consider degenerations of indecomposable Cohen-Macaulay modules over hypersurface singularities of type ($A_\infty$). We also provide a method to construct degenerations of finitely generated modules over commutative rings.
For any truncated path algebra $Λ$, we give a structural description of the modules in the categories ${\cal P}^{<\infty}(Λ\text{-mod})$ and ${\cal P}^{<\infty}(Λ\text{-Mod})$, consisting of the finitely generated (resp. arbitrary) $Λ$-modules of finite projective dimension. We deduce that these categories are contravariantly finite in $Λ\text{-mod}$ and $Λ\text{-Mod}$, respectively, and determine the corresponding minimal ${\cal P}^{<\infty}$-approximation of an arbitrary $Λ$-module from a projective presentation. In particular, we explicitly construct - based on the Gabriel quiver $Q$ and th…
We study the category of Sp-equivariant modules over the infinite variable polynomial ring, where Sp denotes the infinite symplectic group. We establish a number of results about this category: for instance, we show that every finitely generated module M fits into an exact triangle $T \to M \to F \to$ where T is a finite length complex of torsion modules and F is a finite length complex of "free" modules; we determine the Grothendieck group; and we (partially) determine the structure of injective modules. We apply these results to show that the twisted commutative algebras ${\rm Sym}({\bf C}^{…
Two classes of irreducible highest weight modules of the general linear Lie superalgebra $gl(1/\infty)$ are constructed. Within each module a basis is introduced and the transformation relations of the basis under the action of the algebra generators are written down.
Let $V$ be a vertex operator algebra and $A^{\infty}(V)$ and $A^{N}(V)$ for $N\in \mathbb{N}$ the associative algebras introduced by the author in [H5]. For a lower-bounded generalized $V$-module $W$, we give $W$ a structure of graded $A^{\infty}(V)$-module and we introduce an $A^{\infty}(V)$-bimodule $A^{\infty}(W)$ and an $A^{N}(V)$-bimodule $A^{N}(W)$. We prove that the space of (logarithmic) intertwining operators of type $\binom{W_{3}}{W_{1}W_{2}}$ for lower-bounded generalized $V$-modules $W_{1}$, $W_{2}$ and $W_{3}$ is isomorphic to the space $\hom_{A^{\infty}(V)}(A^{\infty}(W_{1})\otim…
This is a survey article about properties of Cohen-Macaulay modules over surface singularities. We discuss various results on the Macaulayfication functor, reflexive modules over simple, quotient and minimally elliptic singularities, geometric and algebraic McKay Correspondence. Finally, we describe matrix factorizations corresponding to the indecomposable Cohen-Macaulay modules over the non-isolated singularities $A_\infty$ and $D_\infty$.
Let $V$ be a finite-dimensional $FG$-module, where $F$ is a field of prime characteristic $p$ and $G$ is a group. We show that, when $r$ is not a power of $p$, the Lie power $L^r(V)$ has a direct summand $B^r(V)$ which is a direct summand of the tensor power $V^{\otimes r}$ and which satisfies $\dim B^r(V)/\dim L^r(V) \to 1$ as $r \to \infty$. Similarly, for the same values of $r$, we obtain a projective submodule $C(r)$ of the Lie module $\Lie(r)$ over $F$ such that $\dim C(r)/\dim \Lie(r) \to 1$ as $r \to \infty$.
Bloch and Okounkov introduced an $n$-point correlation function on the fermionic Fock space and found a closed formula in terms of theta functions. This function affords several distinguished interpretations and in particular can be formulated as correlation functions on irreducible $\hat{gl}_\infty$-modules of level one. These correlation functions have been generalized for irreducible integrable modules of $\hat{gl}_\infty$ and its classical Lie subalgebras of positive levels by the authors. In this paper we extend further these results and compute the correlation functions as well as the $q…
We classify all irreducible generic $\mathrm{VI}$-modules in non-describing characteristic. Our result degenerates to yield a classification of irreducible generic $\mathrm{FI}$-modules in arbitrary characteristic. Our result can also be viewed as a classification theorem for a natural class of representations of $\mathbf{GL}_{\infty}(\mathbf{F}_q)$.
Khovanov-Lauda-Rouquier algebras $R_θ$ of finite Lie type are affine quasihereditary with standard modules $Δ(π)$ labeled by Kostant partitions of $θ$. Let $Δ$ be the direct sum of all standard modules. It is known that the Yoneda algebra $\mathcal{E}_θ:=\operatorname{Ext}_{R_θ}^*(Δ, Δ)$ carries a structure of an $A_\infty$-algebra which can be used to reconstruct the category of standardly filtered $R_θ$-modules. In this paper, we explicitly describe $\mathcal{E}_θ$ in two special cases: (1) when $θ$ is a positive root in type $\mathtt{A}$, and (2) when $θ$ is of Lie type $\mathtt{A_2}$. In t…
The purpose of this Ph.D. thesis is to study and classify primitive ideals of the enveloping algebras $U(\mathfrak{o}(\infty))$ and $U(\mathfrak{sp}(\infty))$. Let $\mathfrak{g}(\infty)$ denote any of the Lie algebras $\mathfrak{o}(\infty)$ or $\mathfrak{sp}(\infty)$. Then\break $\mathfrak{g}(\infty)=\bigcup_{n\geq 2} \mathfrak{g}(2n)$ for $\mathfrak{g}(2n)=\mathfrak{o}(2n)$ or $\mathfrak{g}(2n)=\mathfrak{sp}(2n)$, respectively. We show that each primitive ideal $I$ of $U(\mathfrak{g}(\infty))$ is weakly bounded, i.e., $I\cap U(\mathfrak{g}(2n))$ equals the intersection of annihilators of boun…
The Kashiwara crystal $B(\infty)$ parametrizes a basis for the Verma module of a Kac-Moody algebra. It has a deep combinatorial structure which one seeks to understand. For each sequence $J$ of reduced decompositions of elements of the Weyl group $W$, it has a realization as a subset $B_J(\infty)$ of a crystal $B_J$ which as a set is just $J$ copies of the natural numbers. The goal is to determine $B_J(\infty)$ and in particular to show that it is a polyhedral subset of $B_J$. In earlier work this led to the notion of an $S$-graph associated to a given simple root $α$. Here the notion of a gia…
