For a nondegenerate additive subgroup $G$ of the $n$-dimensional vector space $F^n$ over an algebraically closed field $F$ of characteristic zero, there is an associative algebra and a Lie algebra of Weyl type $W(G,n)$ spanned by all differential operators $u D_1^{m_1}... D_n^{m_n}$ for $u\in F[G]$ (the group algebra), and $m_1,...,m_n \ge 0$, where $D_1, ...,D_n$ are degree operators. In this paper, it is proved that an irreducible quasifinite $W(\Z,1)$-module is either a highest or lowest weight module or else a module of the intermediate series; furthermore, a classification of uniformly bounded $W(\Z,1)$-modules is completely given. It is also proved that an irreducible quasifinite $W(G,n)$-module is a module of the intermediate series and a complete classification of quasifinite $W(G,n)$-modules is also given, if $G$ is not isomorphic to $\Z$.
We prove that an irreducible quasifinite module over the central extension of the Lie algebra of $N\times N$-matrix differential operators on the circle is either a highest or lowest weight module or else a module of the intermediate series. Furthermore, we give a complete classification of indecomposable uniformly bounded modules.
We classify the quasifinite highest weight modules over a family of subalgebras W_{\infty}^{n} of the central extension W_{1+\infty} of the Lie algebra of differential operators on the circle consisting of operators of order \geq n. We classify the unitary quasifinite highest weight modules over W_{\infty}=W_{\infty}^{1} and realize them in terms of unitary highest weight representations of the Lie algebra of infinite matrices with finitely many non-zero diagonals.
In this paper, we first construct a Lie algebra $L$ from rank 3 quantum torus, and show that it is isomorphic to the core of EALAs of type $A_1$ with coordinates in rank 2 quantum torus. Then we construct two classes of irreducible ${\bf Z}$-graded highest weight representations, and give the necessary and sufficient conditions for these representations to be quasifinite. Next, we prove that they exhaust all the generalized highest weight irreducible ${\bf Z}$-graded quasifinite representations. As a consequence, we determine all the irreducible ${\bf Z}$-graded quasifinite representations wit…
We classify positive energy representations with finite degeneracies of the Lie algebra $W_{1+\infty}\/$ and construct them in terms of representation theory of the Lie algebra $\hatgl ( \infty R_m )\/$ of infinite matrices with finite number of non-zero diagonals over the algebra $R_m = \C [ t ] / ( t^{m + 1} )\/$. The unitary ones are classified as well. Similar results are obtained for the sin-algebras.
It is proved that an irreducible quasifinite $W_\infty$-module is a highest or lowest weight module or a module of the intermediate series; a uniformly bounded indecomposable weight $W_\infty$-module is a module of the intermediate series. For a nondegenerate additive subgroup $G$ of $F^n$, where $F$ is a field of characteristic zero, there is a simple Lie or associative algebra $W(G,n)^{(1)}$ spanned by differential operators $uD_1^{m_1}... D_n^{m_n}$ for $u\in F[G]$ (the group algebra), and $m_i\ge0$ with $\sum_{i=1}^n m_i\ge1$, where $D_i$ are degree operators. It is also proved that an ind…
We show that there are precisely two, up to conjugation, anti-involutions sigma_{\pm} of the algebra of differential operators on the circle preserving the principal gradation. We classify the irreducible quasifinite highest weight representations of the central extension \hat{D}^{\pm} of the Lie subalgebra of this algebra fixed by - sigma_{\pm}, and find the unitary ones. We realize them in terms of highest weight representations of the central extension of the Lie algebra of infinite matrices with finitely many non-zero diagonals over the truncated polynomial algebra C[u] / (u^{m+1}) and its…
Let B be the Lie algebra with basis {L_{i,j},C|i,j\in Z} and relations [L_{i,j},L_{k,l}]=((j+1)k-i(l+1))L_{i+k,j+l}+iδ_{i,-k}δ_{j+l,-2}C, [C,L_{i,j}]=0. It is proved that an irreducible highest weight B-module is quasifinite if and only if it is a proper quotient of a Verma module. For an additive subgroup G of the base field F, there corresponds to a Lie algebra B(G) of Block type. Given a totalorder \succ on G and a weight Λ, a Verma B(G)-module M(Λ,\succ) is defined. The irreducibility of M(Λ,\succ) is completely determined.
For a field $F$ of characteristic zero and an additive subgroup $G$ of $F$, a Lie algebra $B(G)$ of lock type is defined with basis $\{L_{a,i},c|a \in G, i>-2\}$ and relations $[L_{a,i},L_{b,j}]=((i+1)b-(j+1)a)L_{a+b,i+j}+a\d_{a,-b}\d_{i+j,-2}c, [c,L_{a,i}]=0.$ Given a total order $\succ$ on $G$ compatible with its group structure, and any $Λ\in B(G)_0^*$, a Verma $B(G)$-module $M(Λ,\succ)$ is defined, and the irreducibility of $M(Λ,\succ)$ is completely determined. Furthermore, it is proved that an irreducible highest weight $B(Z)$-module is quasifinite if and only if it is a proper quotient …
We classify anti-involutions of Lie superalgebra $\hsd$ preserving the principal gradation, where $\hsd$ is the central extension of the Lie superalgebra of differential operators on the super circle $S^{1|1}$. We clarify the relations between the corresponding subalgebras fixed by these anti-involutions and subalgebras of $\hat{gl}_{\infty|\infty}$ of types $OSP$ and $P$. We obtain a criterion for an irreducible highest weight module over these subalgebras to be quasifinite and construct free field realizations of a distinguished class of these modules. We further establish dualities between …
We identify level one global Weyl modules for toroidal Lie algebras with certain twists of modules constructed by Moody-Eswara Rao-Yokonuma via vertex operators for type ADE and by Iohara-Saito-Wakimoto and Eswara Rao for general type. The twist is given by an action of $\mathrm{SL}_{2}(\mathbb{Z})$ on the toroidal Lie algebra. As a byproduct, we obtain a formula for the character of the level one local Weyl module over the toroidal Lie algebra and that for the graded character of the level one graded local Weyl module over an affine analog of the current Lie algebra.
Motivated by Brundan-Kleshchev's work on higher Schur-Weyl duality, we establish mixed Schur-Weyl duality between general linear Lie algebras and cyclotomic walled Brauer algebras in an arbitrary level. Using weakly cellular bases of cyclotomic walled Brauer algebras, we classify highest weight vectors of certain mixed tensor modules of general linear Lie algebras. This leads to an efficient way to compute decomposition matrices of cyclotomic walled Brauer algebras arising from mixed Schur-Weyl duality, which generalizes early results on level two walled Brauer algebras.
We construct a family of homomorphisms between Weyl modules for affine Lie algebras in characteristic p, which supports our conjecture on the strong linkage principle in this context. We also exhibit a large class of reducible Weyl modules beyond level one, for p not necessarily small.
We propose a general method to realize an arbitrary Weyl group of Kac-Moody type as a group of birational canonical transformations, by means of a nilpotent Poisson algebra. We also give a Lie theoretic interpretation of this realization in terms of Kac-Moody Lie algebras and Kac-Moody groups.
We investigate a new cohomology of Lie superalgebras, which may be compared to a de Rham cohomology of Lie supergroups involving both differential and integral forms. It is defined by a BRST complex of Lie superalgebra modules, which is formulated in terms of a Weyl superalgebra and incorporates inequivalent representations of the bosonic Weyl subalgebra. The new cohomology includes the standard Lie superalgebra cohomology as a special case. Examples of new cohomology groups are computed.
Equivariant map algebras are Lie algebras of algebraic maps from a scheme (or algebraic variety) to a target finite-dimensional Lie algebra (in the case of the current paper, we assume the latter is a simple Lie algebra) that are equivariant with respect to the action of a finite group. In the first part of this paper, we define global Weyl modules for equivariant map algebras satisfying a mild assumption. We then identify a commutative algebra A that acts naturally on the global Weyl modules, which leads to a Weyl functor from the category of A-modules to the category of modules for the equiv…
We prove that a Weyl module for the current Lie algebra associated with a simple Lie algebra of type $ADE$ is rigid, that is, it has a unique Loewy series. Further we use this result to prove that the grading on a Weyl module defined by the degree of currents coincides with another grading which comes from the degree of the homology group of the quiver variety. As a corollary we obtain a formula for the Poincaré polynomials of quiver varieties of type $ADE$ in terms of the energy functions defined on the crystals for tensor products of level-zero fundamental representations of the correspondin…
We prove an integral version of the Schur--Weyl duality between the specialized Birman--Murakami--Wenzl algebra $B_n(-q^{2m+1},q)$ and the quantum algebra associated to the symplectic Lie algebra sp_{2m}. In particular, we deduce that this Schur--Weyl duality holds over arbitrary (commutative) ground rings, which answers a question of Lehrer and Zhang [Strongly multiplicity free modules for Lie algebras and quantum groups, J. Algebra (1) 306 (2006), 138--174] in the symplectic case. As a byproduct, we show that, as $Z[q,q^{-1}]$-algebra, the quantized coordinate algebra defined by Kashiwara is…
We discuss the deformed function algebra of a simply connected reductive Lie group G over the complex numbers using a basis consisting of matrix elements of finite dimensional representations. This leads to a preferred deformation, meaning one where the structure constants of comultiplication are unchanged. The structure constants of multiplication are controlled by quantum 3j symbols. We then discuss connections earlier work on preferred deformations that involved Schur-Weyl duality.
We study finite dimensional representations of current algebras, loop algebras and their quantized versions. For the current algebra of a simple Lie algebra of type {\tt ADE}, we show that Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules and Weyl modules are in fact all Demazure modules. As a consequence one obtains an elementary proof of the dimension formula for Weyl modules for the current and the loop algebra. Further, we show that the crystals of the Weyl and the Demazure module are the same up to some additional label zero arrows for the Weyl module. For the current algebra $\Lgc$ of an arbitrary simple Lie…
The Weyl modules in the sense of V.Chari and A.Pressley [CP] over the current Lie algebra on an affine variety are studied. We show that local Weyl modules are finite-dimensional and generalize the tensor product decomposition theorem from [CP]. More explicit results are stated for currents on a non-singular affine variety of dimension $d$ with coefficients in the Lie algebra $sl_r$. The Weyl modules with highest weights proportional to the vector representation one are related to the multi-dimensional analogs of harmonic functions. The dimensions of such local Weyl modules are calculated in t…
In this paper, we introduce the sign q-permutation representation of the Iwahori-Hecke algebra on the tensor space of the graded vector space. We establish Schur-Weyl reciprocity between the quantum general super Lie algebra and the Iwahori-Hecke algebra. Our result includes Schur-Weyl reciprocity of both the super case and the quantum case, and unifies those two important cases.
We study the meromorphic family of intertwining operators between Verma modules and their products with finite-dimensional ones. A regularizing operator, acting in a finite dimensional module U, makes this family holomorphic, and conjugates the dynamical Weyl group operators to constant operators. We prove uniqueness property for regularizing operators, and construct them explicitly for the Lie algebra sl_3.
In this note, we calculate the Poincaré series of elliptic Weyl groups of type $A^{(1,1)}_1$ and $A^{(1,1) \ast}_1$ and show that they have a simple expression.
In a paper by Su and Zhao, the Lie algebra $A[D]=A\otimes F[D]$ of Weyl type was defined and studied, where $A$ is a commutative associative algebra with an identity element over a field $F$ of arbitrary characteristic, and $F[D]$ is the polynomial algebra of a commutative derivation subalgebra $D$ of $A$. The 2-cocycles of a class of $A[D]$ were determined by Su. In the present paper, we determine the 2-cocycles of a class of Lie superalgebras of Weyl type over a field $F$ of characteristic 0.
In a paper by the authors, the associative and the Lie algebras of Weyl type $A[D]=A\otimes F[D]$ were introduced, where $A$ is a commutative associative algebra with an identity element over a field $F$ of any characteristic, and $F[D]$ is the polynomial algebra of a commutative derivation subalgebra $D$ of $A$. In the present paper, a class of the above associative and Lie algebras $A[D]$ with $F$ being a field of characteristic 0 and $D$ consisting of locally finite derivations of $A$, is studied. The isomorphism classes of these associative and Lie algebras are determined. The structure of…
We obtain Drinfeld second realization of the quantum affine superalgebras associated with the affine Lie superalgebra $D^{(1)}(2,1;x)$. Our results are analogous to those obtained by Beck for the quantum affine algebras. Beck's analysis uses heavily the (extended) affine Weyl groups of the affine Lie algebras. In our approach the structures are based on a Weyl groupoid.
For an $(ε,G)$-color-commutative associative algebra $A$ with an identity element over a field $F$ of characteristic not 2, and for a color-commutative subalgebra $D$ of color-derivations of $A$, denote by $A[D]$ the associative subalgebra of ${\rm End}(A)$ generated by $A$ (regarding as operators on $A$ via left multiplication) and $D$. It is easily proved that, as an associative algebra, $A[D]$ is $G$-graded simple if and only if $A$ is $\G$-graded $D$-simple. Suppose $A$ is $\G$-graded $D$-simple. Then, (a) $A[D]$ is a free left $A$-module; (b) as a Lie color algebra, the subquotient $[A[D]…
The theory of Nichols algebras of diagonal type is known to be closely related to that of semisimple Lie algebras. In this paper the connection between both theories is made closer. For any Nichols algebra of diagonal type invertible transformations are introduced, which remind one of the action of the Weyl group on the root system associated to a semisimple Lie algebra. They give rise to the definition of a Brandt groupoid. As an application an alternative proof of classification results of Rosso, Andruskiewitsch, and Schneider is obtained without using any technical assumptions on the braidi…
The bicovariant differential calculus on fourdimensional kappa-Poincare group and corresponding Lie-algebra like structure for any metric tensor are described. The bicovariant differential calculus on four-dimensional kappa-Weyl group and corresponding Lie-algebra like structure for any matric tensor in the reference frame in which $g_{00}=0$ are considered.
The quotient process of Müger and Bruguières is used to construct modular categories and TQFTs out of closed subsets of the Weyl alcove of a simple Lie algebra. In particular it is determined at which levels closed subsets associated to nonsimply-connected groups lead to TQFTs. Many of these TQFTs are shown to decompose into a tensor product of TQFTs coming from smaller subsets. The "prime" subsets among these are classified, and apart from some giving TQFTs depending on homology as described by Murakami, Ohtsuki and Okada, they are shown to be in one-to-one correspondence with the TQFTs predi…
Following a preceding paper of Tarasov and the second author, we define and study a new structure, which may be regarded as the dynamical analogue of the Weyl group for Lie algebras and of the quantum Weyl group for quantized enveloping algebras. We give some applications of this new structure.
Given a $n$-dimensional Lie algebra $g$ over a field $k \supset \mathbb Q$, together with its vector space basis $X^0_1,..., X^0_n$, we give a formula, depending only on the structure constants, representing the infinitesimal generators, $X_i = X^0_i t$ in $g\otimes_k k [[t]]$, where $t$ is a formal variable, as a formal power series in $t$ with coefficients in the Weyl algebra $A_n$. Actually, the theorem is proved for Lie algebras over arbitrary rings $k\supset Q$. We provide three different proofs, each of which is expected to be useful for generalizations. The first proof is obtained by di…
In one of our recent papers, the associative and the Lie algebras of Weyl type $A[D]=A\otimes F[D]$ were defined and studied, where $A$ is a commutative associative algebra with an identity element over a field $F$ of any characteristic, and $F[D]$ is the polynomial algebra of a commutative derivation subalgebra $D$ of $A$. In the present paper, a class of the above associative and Lie algebras $A[D]$ with $F$ being a field of characteristic 0, $D$ consisting of locally finite but not locally nilpotent derivations of $A$, are studied. The isomorphism classes and automorphism groups of these as…
All Lie bialgebra structures on the Heisenberg--Weyl algebra $[A_+,A_-]=M$ are classified and explicitly quantized. The complete list of quantum Heisenberg--Weyl algebras so obtained includes new multiparameter deformations, most of them being of the non-coboundary type.
Over a field $F$ of any characteristic, for a commutative associative algebra $A$ with an identity element and for the polynomial algebra $F[D]$ of a commutative derivation subalgebra $D$ of $A$, the associative and the Lie algebras of Weyl type on the same vector space $A[D]=A\otimes F[D]$ are defined. It is proved that $A[D]$, as a Lie algebra (modular its center) or as an associative algebra, is simple if and only if $A$ is $D$-simple and $A[D]$ acts faithfully on $A$. Thus a lot of simple algebras are obtained.
It is well-known that the commutant algebra of the $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$-action on the $n$-fold tensor product of its fundamental module is isomorphic to the Temperley-Lieb algebra TL$_n(ν)$ with fugacity parameter $ν= -q - q^{-1}$ (at least in the generic case, i.e., when $q$ is not a root of unity, or $n$ is small enough). Furthermore, the simple $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$-modules appearing in the direct-sum decomposition of the $n$-fold tensor product module are in one-to-one correspondence with those of the Temperley-Lieb algebra. This double-commutant property is referred to as quantum Schur…
