The purpose of this Ph.D. thesis is to study and classify primitive ideals of the enveloping algebras $U(\mathfrak{o}(\infty))$ and $U(\mathfrak{sp}(\infty))$. Let $\mathfrak{g}(\infty)$ denote any of the Lie algebras $\mathfrak{o}(\infty)$ or $\mathfrak{sp}(\infty)$. Then\break $\mathfrak{g}(\infty)=\bigcup_{n\geq 2} \mathfrak{g}(2n)$ for $\mathfrak{g}(2n)=\mathfrak{o}(2n)$ or $\mathfrak{g}(2n)=\mathfrak{sp}(2n)$, respectively. We show that each primitive ideal $I$ of $U(\mathfrak{g}(\infty))$ is weakly bounded, i.e., $I\cap U(\mathfrak{g}(2n))$ equals the intersection of annihilators of bounded weight $\mathfrak{g}(2n)$-modules. To every primitive ideal $I$ of $\mathfrak{g}(\infty)$ we attach a unique irreducible coherent local system of bounded ideals, which is an analog of a coherent local system of finite-dimensional modules, as introduced earlier by A. Zhilinskii. As a result, primitive ideals of $U(\mathfrak{g}(\infty))$ are parametrized by triples $(x,y,Z)$ where $x$ is a nonnegative integer, $y$ is a nonnegative integer or half-integer, and $Z$ is a Young diagram. In the case of $\mathfrak{o}(\infty)$, each primitive ideal is integrable, and our classification reduces to a classification of integrable ideals going back to A. Zhilinskii, A. Penkov and I. Petukhov. In the case of $\mathfrak{sp}(\infty)$, only 'half' of the primitive ideals are integrable, and nonintegrable primitive ideals correspond to triples $(x,y,Z)$ where $y$ is a half-integer.
Let $\mathfrak{g}$ be a complex semisimple Lie algebra, $\mathfrak{b}$ be a Borel subalgebra of $\mathfrak{g}$, $\mathfrak{n}$ be the nilradical of $\mathfrak{b}$, and $U(\mathfrak{n})$ be the universal enveloping algebra of $\mathfrak{n}$. We study primitive ideals of $U(\mathfrak{n})$. Almost all primitive ideals are centrally generated, i.e., are generated by their intersections with the center $Z(\mathfrak{n})$ of $U(\mathfrak{n})$. We present an explicit characterization of the centrally generated primitive ideals of $U(\mathfrak{n})$ in terms of the Dixmier map and the Kostant cascade in…
We study the centrally generated primitive ideals of $U(\mathfrak{n})$, where $\mathfrak{n}$ is the (locally) nilpotent radical of a (splitting) Borel subalgebra of a simple complex Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}=\mathfrak{o}_{2n+1}(\mathbb{C})$, $\mathfrak{o}_{2n}(\mathbb{C})$, $\mathfrak{o}_{\infty}(\mathbb{C})$. In the infinite-dimensional setting, there are infinitely many isomorphism classes of Lie algebras $\mathfrak{n}$, and we fix $\mathfrak{n}$ with "largest possible" center of $U(\mathfrak{n})$. We characterize the centrally generated primitive ideals of $U(\mathfrak{n})$ in terms of the …
We study the center of $U(\mathfrak{n})$, where $\mathfrak{n}$ is the locally nilpotent radical of a splitting Borel subalgebra of a simple complex Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}=\mathfrak{sl}_{\infty}(\mathbb{C})$, $\mathfrak{so}_{\infty}(\mathbb{C})$, $\mathfrak{sp}_{\infty}(\mathbb{C})$. There are infinitely many isomorphism classes of Lie algebras $\mathfrak{n}$, and we provide explicit generators of the center of $U(\mathfrak{n})$ in all cases. We then fix $\mathfrak{n}$ with "largest possible" center of $U(\mathfrak{n})$ and characterize the centrally generated primitive ideals of $U(\mathfra…
We classify the simple bounded weight modules of ${\mathfrak{sl}(\infty})$, ${\mathfrak{o}(\infty)}$ and ${\mathfrak{sp}(\infty)}$, and compute their annihilators in $U({\mathfrak{sl}(\infty}))$, $U({\mathfrak{o}(\infty))}$, $U({\mathfrak{sp}(\infty))}$, respectively.
We study the structure of bounded simple weight $\mathfrak{sl}(\infty)$-, $\mathfrak{o}(\infty)$-, $\mathfrak{sp}(\infty)$-modules, which have been recently classified in [6]. Given a splitting parabolic subalgebra $\mathfrak{p}$ of $\mathfrak{sl}(\infty)$, $\mathfrak{o}(\infty)$, $\mathfrak{sp}(\infty)$, we introduce the concepts of $\mathfrak{p}$-aligned and pseudo $\mathfrak{p}$-aligned $\mathfrak{sl}(\infty)$-, $\mathfrak{o}(\infty)$-, $\mathfrak{sp}(\infty)$-modules, and give necessary and sufficient conditions for bounded simple weight modules to be $\mathfrak{p}$-aligned or pseudo $\mat…
We study a category of modules over $\mathfrak{gl}(\infty)$ analogous to category $\mathcal O$. We fix adequate Cartan, Borel and Levi-type subalgebras $\mathfrak h, \mathfrak b$ and $\mathfrak l$ with $\mathfrak l \cong \mathfrak{gl}(\infty)^n$, and define $\mathcal O_{\mathsf{LA}}^{\mathfrak l}{\mathfrak{gl}(\infty)}$ to be the category of $\mathfrak h$-semisimple, $\mathfrak n$-nilpotent modules that satisfy a large annihilator condition as $\mathfrak l$-modules. Our main result is that these are highest weight categories in the sense of Cline, Parshall and Scott. We compute the simple mult…
Let $\ell\in\mathbb{N}$ with $\ell>2$ and $I:=\mathbb{Z}/2\ell\mathbb{Z}$. In this paper we give a new realization of the crystal of affine $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_{\ell}$ using the modular representation theory of the affine Hecke algebras $H_n$ of type $A$ and their level two cyclotomic quotients with Hecke parameter being a primitive $2\ell$th root of unity. We realized the Kashiwara operators for the crystal as the functors of taking socle of certain two-steps restriction and of taking head of certain two-steps induction. For any finite dimensional irreducible $H_n$-module $M$, we prove t…
We classify simple bounded weight modules over the complex simple Lie superalgebras $\mathfrak{sl}(\infty |\infty)$ and $\mathfrak{osp} (m | 2n)$, when at least one of $m$ and $n$ equals $\infty$. For $\mathfrak{osp} (m | 2n)$ such modules are of spinor-oscillator type, i.e., they combine into one the known classes of spinor $\mathfrak{o} (m)$-modules and oscillator-type $\mathfrak{sp} (2n)$-modules. In addition, we characterize the category of bounded weight modules over $\mathfrak{osp} (m | 2n)$ (under the assumption $\dim \, \mathfrak{osp} (m | 2n) = \infty$) by reducing its study to alread…
Let $\mathfrak{S}_\infty$ be the infinity permutation group and $Γ$ be a separable topological group. The wreath product $Γ\wr \mathfrak{S}_\infty$ is the semidirect product $Γ^\infty_e \rtimes \mathfrak{S}_\infty$ for the usual permutation action of $\mathfrak{S}_\infty$ on $Γ^\infty_e=\{[γ_i]_{i=1}^\infty : γ_i\in Γ,\textit{only finitely many}γ_i\neq e\}$. In this paper we obtain the full description of indecomposable states $φ$ on the group $Γ\wr\mathfrak{S}_\infty,$ satisfying the condition: φ(sgs^{-1})= φ(g)\text{for each}g\in Γ\wr \mathfrak{S}_\infty,s\in\mathfrak{S}_\infty.
Let $\mathfrak{n}$ be a locally nilpotent infinite-dimensional Lie algebra over $\mathbb{C}$. Let $\mathrm{U}(\mathfrak{n})$ and $\mathrm{S}(\mathfrak{n})$ be its universal enveloping algebra and its symmetric algebra respectively. Consider the Jacobson topology on the primitive spectrum of $\mathrm{U}(\mathfrak{n})$ and the Poisson topology on the primitive Poisson spectrum of $\mathrm{S}(\mathfrak{n})$. We provide a homeomorphism between the corresponding topological spaces (on the level of points, it gives a bijection between the primitive ideals of $\mathrm{U}(\mathfrak{n})$ and $\mathrm{S…
Let $\mathfrak{g}=\mathfrak{sl}(\infty)$. We compute the annihilators of a class of simple integrable weight $\mathfrak{g}$-modules with finite-dimensional weight spaces. It is a claim of I. Dimitrov, that this class exhausts all simple integrable weight $\mathfrak{g}$-modules with finite-dimensional weight spaces. The main feature of interest is that Dimitrov's class of modules contains non highest weight modules. Here we provide another construction for these modules, which allows to apply results of [PP18] to compute such annihilators.
Let $\mathfrak{S}_\infty$ be the infinity permutation group and $Γ$ an arbitrary group. Then $\mathfrak{S}_\infty$ admits a natural action on $Γ^\infty$ by automorphisms, so one can form a semidirect product $Γ^\infty\rtimes \mathfrak{S}_\infty$, known as the {\it wreath} product $Γ\wr\mathfrak{S}_\infty$ of $Γ$ by $\mathfrak{S}_{\infty}$. We obtain a full description of unitary $II_1-$factor-representations of $Γ\wr\mathfrak{S}_\infty$ in terms of finite characters of $Γ$. Our approach is based on extending Okounkov's classification method for admissible representations of $\mathfrak{S}_\inft…
We revisit a recent paper of Fialowski and Iohara. They compute the homology of the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{gl}(\infty,R)$ for $R$ an associative unital algebra over a field of characteristic zero. We explain how to obtain essentially the same results by a completely different method.
The objective of this thesis is to study the automorphism groups of the Lie algebras attached to linear systems. A linear system is a pair of vector spaces $(U,W)$ with a nondegenerate pairing $\langle\cdot,\cdot\rangle\colon U\otimes W\to \mathbb{C}$, to which we attach three Lie algebras $\mathfrak{sl}_{U,W}\subset \mathfrak{gl}_{U,W}\subset\mathfrak{gl}^M_{U,W}$. If both $U$ and $W$ are countable dimensional, then, up to isomorphism, there is a unique linear system $(V,V_*)$. In this case $\mathfrak{sl}_{V,V_*}$ and $\mathfrak{gl}_{V,V_*}$ are the well-known Lie algebras $\mathfrak{sl}_\inf…
Let $\overline{\mathfrak{S}}_\infty$ denote the set of all bijections of natural numbers. Consider the action of $\overline{\mathfrak{S}}_\infty$ on a measure space $\left( X,\mathfrak{M},μ\right)$, where $μ$ is $\overline{\mathfrak{S}}_\infty$-quasi-invariant measure. We prove that there exists $\overline{\mathfrak{S}}_\infty$-invariant measure equivalent to $μ$.
We classify completely prime primitive ideals whose associated varieties are the closure of the minimal nilpotent orbit of $\mathfrak{g}=\mathfrak{sl}(n,\mathbb{C})$, and classify irreducible $(\mathfrak{g},\mathfrak{k})$-modules which have those ideals as annihilators. Moreover, we irreducibly decompose them as $\mathfrak{k}$-modules.
We investigate several categories of integrable $sl(\infty)$-, $o(\infty)$-, $sp(\infty)$-modules. In particular, we prove that the category of integrable $sl(\infty)$-, $o(\infty)$-, $sp(\infty)$-modules with finite-dimensional weight spaces is semisimple. The most interesting category we study is the category $\widetilde{\mathrm{Tens}}_{\mathfrak{g}}$ of tensor modules. Its objects $M$ are defined as integrable modules of finite Loewy length such that the algebraic dual $M^*$ is also integrable and of finite Loewy length. We prove that the simple objects of $\widetilde{\mathrm{Tens}}_{\mathf…
We introduce a symmetric monoidal category of modules over the direct limit queer superalgebra $\q (\infty)$. The category can be defined in two equivalent ways with the aid of the large annihilator condition. Tensor products of copies of the natural and the conatural representations are injective objects in this category. We obtain the socle filtrations and formulas for the tensor products of the indecoposable injectives. In addition, it is proven that the category is Koszul self-dual.
In this article we review the main results of the earlier papers [I. Penkov, K. Styrkas, Tensor representations of infinite-dimensional root-reductive Lie algebras, in Developments and Trends in Infinite-Dimensional Lie Theory, Progress in Mathematics 288, Birkhäuser, 2011, pp. 127-150], [I. Penkov, V. Serganova, Categories of integrable $\mathfrak{sl}(\infty)$-, $\mathfrak{o}(\infty)$-, $\mathfrak{sp}(\infty)$-modules, in "Representation Theory and Mathematical Physics", Contemporary Mathematics 557 (2011), pp. 335-357] and [E. Dan-Cohen, I. Penkov, V. Serganova, A Koszul category of represen…
For a semi-simple finite-dimensional complex Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ we classify the representation type of the category ${}^{\infty}_λ\mathcal{H}_μ^1$ of Harish-Chandra bimodules for $\mathfrak{g}$.
Let $\mathfrak g$ be a simple Lie algebra with a Borel subalgebra $\mathfrak b$. To any long positive root $γ$, one associates two ideals of $\mathfrak b$: the abelian ideal $I(γ)_{max}$ and not necessarily abelian ideal $I\langle{\succcurlyeq}γ\rangle$. It is known that $I(γ)_{max} \subset I\langle{\succcurlyeq}γ\rangle$, and $γ$ is said to be amazing if the equality holds. The set of amazing roots, $\mathcal A$, is closed under the operation `$\vee$' in $Δ^+$, and $γ\in\mathcal A$ is said to be primitive, if it cannot be written as $γ_1\veeγ_2$ with incomparable amazing roots $γ_1,γ_2$. We c…
We construct a new analogue of the BGG category $\mathcal O$ for the infinite-dimensional Lie algebras $\fg=\mathfrak{sl}(\infty),\mathfrak{o}(\infty), \mathfrak{sp}(\infty)$. A main difference with the categories studied in \cite{Nam} and \cite{CP} is that all objects of our category satisfy the large annihilator condition introduced in \cite{DPS}. Despite the fact that the splitting Borel subalgebras $\fb$ of $\fg$ are not conjugate, one can eliminate the dependency on the choice of $\fb$ and introduce a universal highest weight category $\mathcal {OLA}$ of $\fg$-modules, the letters $\mathc…
Using combinatorics of Young tableaux, we give an explicit construction of irreducible graded modules over Khovanov-Lauda-Rouquier algebras $R$ and their cyclotomic quotients $R^λ$ of type $A_{n}$. Our construction is compatible with crystal structure. Let ${\mathbf B}(\infty)$ and ${\mathbf B}(λ)$ be the $U_q(\slm_{n+1})$-crystal consisting of marginally large tableaux and semistandard tableaux of shape $λ$, respectively. On the other hand, let ${\mathfrak B}(\infty)$ and ${\mathfrak B}(λ)$ be the $U_q(\slm_{n+1})$-crystals consisting of isomorphism classes of irreducible graded $R$-modules a…
The purpose of my Ph.D. research is to define and study an analogue of the classical Bernstein-Gelfand-Gelfand (BGG) category $\mathcal{O}$ for the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$, where $\mathfrak{g}$ is one of the finitary, infinite-dimensional Lie algebras $\mathfrak{gl}_\infty(\mathbb{K})$, $\mathfrak{sl}_\infty(\mathbb{K})$, $\mathfrak{so}_\infty(\mathbb{K})$, and $\mathfrak{sp}_\infty(\mathbb{K})$. Here, $\mathbb{K}$ is an algebraically closed field of characteristic $0$. We call these categories "extended categories $\mathcal{O}$" and use the notation $\bar{\mathcal{O}}$. While the categorie…
We find for each simple finitary Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ a category $\mathbb{T}_\mathfrak{g}$ of integrable modules in which the tensor product of copies of the natural and conatural modules are injective. The objects in $\mathbb{T}_\mathfrak{g}$ can be defined as the finite length absolute weight modules, where by absolute weight module we mean a module which is a weight module for every splitting Cartan subalgebra of $\mathfrak{g}$. The category $\mathbb{T}_\mathfrak{g}$ is Koszul in the sense that it is antiequivalent to the category of locally unitary finite-dimensional modules over a c…
Let $G$ be a real reductive connected Lie group and $σ$ an involution of $G$. Let $H$ denote the identity component of the group of fixed points of $σ$, $\mathfrak g$ the Lie algebra of $G$ and $\mathfrak q$ the -1 eigenspace of $σ$ in $\mathfrak g$. The group $H$ acts naturally on $\mathfrak q$ via the adjoint representation. Let $C^{\infty}(\mathfrak q)^H$ denote the algebra of $H$-invariant smooth functions on $\mathfrak q$, and $\mathfrak X(\mathfrak q)^H$ the space of $H$-invariant smooth vetor fields on $\mathfrak q$. Any vetor field $X\in \mathfrak X(\mathfrak q)^H$ defines naturally a …
Using deformation theory, Braverman and Joseph obtained an alternative characterisation of the Joseph ideal for simple Lie algebras, which included even type A. In this note we extend that characterisation to define a remarkable quadratic ideal for sl(m|n). When m-n>2 we prove the ideal is primitive and can also be characterised similarly to the construction of the Joseph ideal by Garfinkle.
We explore the (noncommutative) geometry of locally simple representations of the diagonal locally finite Lie algebras $\mathfrak{sl}(n^\infty)$, $\mathfrak o(n^\infty)$, and $\mathfrak{sp}(n^\infty)$. Let $\mathfrak g_\infty$ be one of these Lie algebras, and let $I \subseteq U(\mathfrak g_\infty)$ be the nonzero annihilator of a locally simple $\mathfrak g_\infty$-module. We show that for each such $I$, there is a quiver $Q$ so that locally simple $\mathfrak g_\infty$-modules with annihilator $I$ are parameterised by "points" in the "noncommutative space" corresponding to the path algebra of…
Let $\mathfrak{g}$ be a semisimple Lie algebra. We establish a new relation between the Goldie rank of a primitive ideal $\mathcal{J}\subset U(\mathfrak{g})$ and the dimension of the corresponding irreducible representation $V$ of an appropriate finite W-algebra. Namely, we show that $\operatorname{Grk}(\mathcal{J}) \leqslant \dim V/d_V$, where $d_V$ is the index of a suitable equivariant Azumaya algebra on a homogeneous space. We also compute $d_V$ in representation theoretic terms.
We present an extension of the trace of a vertex operator and explain a representation-theoretic interpretation of the trace. Specifically, we consider a twist of the vertex operator with infinitely many Casimir operators and compute its trace as a character formula. To do this, we define the Fock space of infinite level $\mathfrak{F}^{\infty}$. Then, we prove a duality between $\mathfrak{gl}_{\infty}$ and $\mathfrak{a}_{\infty}=\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}_{\infty}$ of Howe type, which provides a decomposition of $\mathfrak{F}^{\infty}$ into irreducible representations with joint highest weight ve…
We investigate in detail relationships between the set ${\mathfrak B}^\infty$ of all infinite ``biconvex'' sets in the positive root system $Δ_+$ of an arbitrary untwisted affine Lie algebra ${\mathfrak g}$ and the set ${\mathcal W}^\infty$ of all infinite ``reduced word'' of the Weyl group of ${\mathfrak g}$. The study is applied to the classification of ``convex orders'' on $Δ_+$ (cf. \cite{kI}), which are indispensable to construct ``convex bases'' of Poincaré-Birkhoff-Witt type of the upper triangular subalgebra $U_q^+$ of the quantized universal enveloping algebra $U_q({\mathfrak g})$. We…
We introduce and study new categories T(g,k)of integrable sl(\infty)-modules which depend on the choice of a certain reductive subalgebra k in g=sl(\infty). The simple objects of these categories are tensor modules as in the previously studied category, however, the choice of k provides more flexibility of nonsimple modules. We then choose k to have two infinite-dimensional diagonal blocks, and show that a certain injective object K(m|n) in T(g,k) realizes a categorical sl(\infty)-action on the integral category O(m|n) of the Lie superalgebra gl(m|n). We show that the socle of K(m|n) is genera…
We construct and investigate the structure of the Khovanov-Lauda-Rouquier algebras $R$ and their cyclotomic quotients $R^λ$ which give a categrification of quantum generalized Kac-Moody algebras. Let $U_\A(\g)$ be the integral form of the quantum generalized Kac-Moody algebra associated with a Borcherds-Cartan matrix $A=(a_{ij})_{i,j \in I}$ and let $K_0(R)$ be the Grothedieck group of finitely generated projective graded $R$-modules. We prove that there exists an injective algebra homomorphism $Φ: U_\A^-(\g) \to K_0(R)$ and that $Φ$ is an isomorphism if $a_{ii}\ne 0$ for all $i\in I$. Let $B(…
We provide an explicit description of the primitive ideals of the enveloping algebra $\operatorname{U}(\frak{sl}(\infty))$ of the infinite-dimensional finitary Lie algebra $\frak{sl}(\infty)$ over an uncountable algebraically closed field of characteristic 0. Our main new result is that any primitive ideal of $\operatorname{U}(\frak{sl}(\infty))$ is integrable. A classification of integrable primitive ideals of $\operatorname{U}(\frak{sl}(\infty))$ has been known previously, and relies on the pioneering work of A. Zhilinskii.
For integers $e,\ell\geq 2$, the level $\ell$ Fock space has an $\mathfrak{sl}_\infty$-crystal structure arising from the action of a Heisenberg algebra, intertwining the $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}_e}$-crystal. The vertices of these crystals are charged $\ell$-partitions. We give the combinatorial rule for computing the arrows anywhere in the $\mathfrak{sl}_\infty$-crystal. This allows us to pinpoint the location of any charged $\ell$-partition. As an application, we compute the support of the spherical representation of a cyclotomic rational Cherednik algebra, and in particular, the set of param…
We develop a general framework for $c$-vectors of 2-Calabi--Yau categories, which deals with cluster tilting subcategories that are not reachable from each other and contain infinitely many indecomposable objects. It does not rely on iterative sequences of mutations. We prove a categorical (infinite-rank) generalization of the Nakanishi--Zelevinsky duality for $c$-vectors and establish two formulae for the effective computation of $c$-vectors -- one in terms of indices and the other in terms of dimension vectors for cluster tilted algebras. In this framework, we construct a correspondence betw…
Let $U_q'(\mathfrak{g})$ be a quantum affine algebra of untwisted affine $ADE$ type, and $\mathcal{C}_{\mathfrak{g}}^0$ the Hernandez-Leclerc category of finite-dimensional $U_q'(\mathfrak{g})$-modules. For a suitable infinite sequence $\widehat{w}_0= \cdots s_{i_{-1}}s_{i_0}s_{i_1} \cdots$ of simple reflections, we introduce subcategories $\mathcal{C}_{\mathfrak{g}}^{[a,b]}$ of $\mathcal{C}_{\mathfrak{g}}^0$ for all $a \le b \in \mathbb{Z}\sqcup\{ \pm \infty \}$. Associated with a certain chain $\mathfrak{C}$ of intervals in $[a,b]$, we construct a real simple commuting family $M(\mathfrak{C}…
For a semisimple Lie algebra defined over a discrete valuation ring with field of fractions $K$, we prove that any primitive ideal with rational central character in the affinoid enveloping algebra, $\widehat{U(\mathfrak{g})_{K}},$ is the annihilator of an affinoid highest weight module.
A new categorical crystal structure for the quantum affine algebras is presented. We introduce the extended crystal $\widehat{B}_{\mathfrak{g}}(\infty)$ for an arbitrary quantum group, which is the product of infinite copies of the crystal $B(\infty)$. For a complete duality datum in the Hernandez-Leclerc category $\mathcal{C}^0_{\mathfrak{g}}$ of a quantum affine algebra $U_q'(\mathfrak{g})$, we prove that the set of the isomorphism classes of simple modules in $\mathcal{C}^0_{\mathfrak{g}}$ has an extended crystal structure isomorphic to the extended crystal $\widehat{B}_{\mathfrak{g}}(\inft…
The Lie superalgebra $W(\infty)$ is defined to be the direct limit of the simple finite-dimensional Cartan type Lie superalgebras $W(n)$ as $n$ goes to infinity, where $W(n)$ denotes the Lie superalgebra of superderivations of the Grassmann algebra $Λ(n)$. The zeroth component of $W(\infty)$ in its natural $\mathbb{Z}$-grading is isomorphic to $\mathfrak{gl}(\infty)$. In this paper, we initiate the study of the representation theory of $W(\infty)$. We study $\mathbb{Z}$-graded $W(\infty)$-modules, and we introduce a category $\mathbb{T}_W$ that is closely related to the Koszul category $\mathb…
Given an algebraic Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ over $\mathbb{C}$, we canonically associate to it a Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}_{\infty}$ defined over $\mathbb{C}_{\infty}$-the reduction of $\mathbb{C}$ mod infinitely large prime, and show that for a class of Lie algebras $\mathfrak{g}_{\infty}$ is an invariant of the derived category of $\mathfrak{g}$-modules. We give two applications of this construction. First, we show that the bounded derived category of $\mathfrak{g}$-modules determines algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ for a class of Lie algebras. Second, given a semi-simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ …
In this note we compute the homology of the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{gl}(\infty,R)$ where $R$ is an associative unital $k$-algebra which is used in higher dimensional soliton theory. When $k$ is a field of characteristic $0$, our result justifies an old result of Feigin and Tsygan appeared in 1983. The special case when $R=k$ is the complex number field $\mathbb{C}$ appeared first in soliton theory.
We begin a study of the representation theory of quantum continuous $\mathfrak{gl}_\infty$, which we denote by $\mathcal E$. This algebra depends on two parameters and is a deformed version of the enveloping algebra of the Lie algebra of difference operators acting on the space of Laurent polynomials in one variable. Fundamental representations of $\mathcal E$ are labeled by a continuous parameter $u\in {\mathbb C}$. The representation theory of $\mathcal E$ has many properties familiar from the representation theory of $\mathfrak{gl}_\infty$: vector representations, Fock modules, semi-infinit…
In this paper, we study the two-parameter quantum group $U_{r,s}(\mathfrak sl_{\infty})$ associated to the Lie algebra $\mathfrak sl_{\infty}$ of infinite rank. We shall prove that the two-parameter quantum group $U_{r,s}(\mathfrak sl_{\infty})$ admits both a Hopf algebra structure and a triangular decomposition. In particular, it can be realized as the Drinfeld double of it's certain Hopf subalgebras. We will also study a two-parameter twisted Ringel-Hall algebra $H_{r,s}(A_{\infty})$ associated to the category of all finite dimensional representations of the infinite linear quiver $A_{\infty…
Motivated by recent developments of $\infty$-categorical theories related to differential graded (dg for short) Lie algebras, we develop a general framework for locally finite $\infty$-$\mathfrak{g}$-modules over a dg Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$. We show that the category of such locally finite $\infty$-$\mathfrak{g}$-modules is almost a model category in the sense of Vallette. As a homotopy theoretical generalization of Loday and Pirashvili's Lie algebra objects in the tensor category of linear maps, we further study weak Loday-Pirashvili modules consisting of $\infty$-morphisms from locally f…
We present an algorithm which computes the annihilator in ${\rm U}(\frak{sl}(\infty))$ of any simple highest weight $\frak{sl}(\infty)$-module $L_\frak b(λ)$. This algorithm is based on an infinite version of the Robinson-Schensted algorithm.
We prove the longstanding physics conjecture that there exists a unique two-parameter $\mathcal{W}_{\infty}$-algebra which is freely generated of type $\mathcal{W}(2,3,\dots)$, and generated by the weights $2$ and $3$ fields. Subject to some mild constraints, all vertex algebras of type $\mathcal{W}(2,3,\dots, N)$ for some $N$ can be obtained as quotients of this universal algebra. As an application, we show that for $n\geq 3$, the structure constants for the principal $\mathcal{W}$-algebras $\mathcal{W}^k(\mathfrak{s}\mathfrak{l}_n, f_{\text{prin}})$ are rational functions of $k$ and $n$, and…
We consider the Whittaker modules $M_{1}(λ,μ)$ for the Weyl vertex algebra $M$, constructed in arXiv:1811.04649, where it was proved that these modules are irreducible for each finite cyclic orbifold $M^{\Bbb Z_n}$. In this paper, we consider the modules $M_{1}(λ,μ)$ as modules for the ${\Bbb Z}$-orbifold of $M$, denoted by $M^0$. $M^0$ is isomorphic to the vertex algebra $\mathcal W_{1+\infty, c=-1} = \mathcal M(2) \otimes M_1(1)$ which is the tensor product of the Heisenberg vertex algebra $M_1(1)$ and the singlet algebra $\mathcal M(2)$. Furthermore, these modules are also modules of the Li…
Let $(π, \mathcal H)$ be a continuous unitary representation of the (infinite dimensional) Lie group $G$ and $γ\: \mathbb R \to \mathrm{Aut}(G)$ define a continuous action of $\mathbb R$ on $G$. Suppose that $π^\#(g,t) = π(g) U_t$ defines a continuous unitary representation of the semidirect product group $G \rtimes_γ\mathbb R$. The first main theorem of the present note provides criteria for the invariance of the space $\mathcal H^\infty$ of smooth vectors of $π$ under the operators $U_f = \int_\mathbb R f(t)U_t\, dt$ for $f \in L^1(\mathbb R)$, resp., $f \in \mathcal S(\mathbb R)$. Using thi…
There is a natural map from a symmetric group $S_n$ to a smaller symmetric group $S_{n-1}$, we write a decomposition of a permutation into a product of disjoint cycles and remove the element $n$ from this expression. For this reason there exists the inverse limit $\mathfrak{S}$ of sets $S_n$. We equip $S_n$ with the uniform distribution (or more generally with an Ewens distribution) and get a structure of a measure space on $\mathfrak{S}$ (it is called 'virtual permutations' or 'Chinese restaurant process'), a double $S_\infty\times S_\infty $ of an infinite symmetric group acts on $\mathfrak{…
Let $Γ$ denote a distance-regular graph with diameter $D\geq 3$ and Bose-Mesner algebra $M$. For $θ\in C\cup \infty$ we define a 1 dimensional subspace of $M$ which we call $M(θ)$. If $θ\in C$ then $M(θ)$ consists of those $Y$ in $M$ such that $(A-θI)Y\in C A_D$, where $A$ (resp. $A_D$) is the adjacency matrix (resp. $D$th distance matrix) of $Γ.$ If $θ= \infty$ then $M(θ)= C A_D$. By a {\it pseudo primitive idempotent} for $θ$ we mean a nonzero element of $M(θ)$. We use pseudo primitive idempotents to describe the irreducible modules for the Terwilliger algebra, that are thin with endpoint on…
