We study one and two parameter quantizations of the function algebra on a semisimple orbit in the coadjoint representation of a simple Lie group subject to the condition that the multiplication on the quantized algebra is invariant under action of the Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum group. We prove that the corresponding Poisson bracket must be the sum of the so-called R-matrix bracket and an invariant bracket. We classify such brackets for all semisimple orbits and show that they form a family of dimension equal to the rank equal to the second cohomology group of the orbit and then we quantize these brackets. A two parameter (or double) quantization corresponds to a pair of compatible Poisson brackets: the first is as described above and the second is the Kirillov-Kostant-Souriau bracket on the orbit. Not all semisimple orbits admit a compatible pair of Poisson brackets. We classify the semisimple orbits for which such pairs exist and construct the corresponding two parameter quantization of these pairs in some of the cases.
We obtain a family of strict $\hat G$-invariant products on the space of holomorphic functions on a semisimple coadjoint orbit of a complex connected semisimple Lie group $\hat G$. By restriction, we also obtain strict $G$-invariant products $*_\hbar$ on a space $A(O)$ of certain analytic functions on a semisimple coadjoint orbit $O$ of a real connected semisimple Lie group $G$. The space $A(O)$ endowed with one of the products $*_\hbar$ is a Fréchet algebra, and the formal expansion of the products around $\hbar = 0$ determines a formal deformation quantization of $O$, which is of Wick type i…
In this paper we make a review of the results obtained in previous works by the authors on deformation quantization of coadjoint orbits of semisimple Lie groups. We motivate the problem with a new point of view of the well known Moyal-Weyl deformation quantization. We consider only semisimple orbits. Algebraic and differential deformations are compared.
In this paper we consider the problem of deformation quantization of the algebra of polynomial functions on coadjoint orbits of semisimple lie groups. The deformation of an orbit is realized by taking the quotient of the universal enveloping algebra of the Lie algebra of the given Lie group, by a suitable ideal. A comparison with geometric quantization in the case of SU(2) is done where both methods agree.
Let M be a coadjoint semisimple orbit of a simple Lie group G. Let $U_h(\g)$ be a quantum group corresponding to G. We construct a universal family of $U_h(\g)$ invariant quantizations of the sheaf of functions on M and describe all such quantizations. We also describe all two parameter $U_h(\g)$ invariant quantizations on M, which can be considered as $U_h(\g)$ invariant quantizations of the Kirillov-Kostant-Souriau (KKS) Poisson bracket on M. We also consider how those quantizations relate to the natural polarizations of M with respect to the KKS bracket. Using polarizations, we quantize the…
We study relations between the two-parameter $\U_q(sl(n))$-invariant deformation quantization on $sl^*(n)$ and the reflection equation algebra. The latter is described by a quantum permutation on $\End(\C^n)$ given explicitly. The reflection equation algebra is used for constructing the one-parameter quantization on coadjoint orbits, including symmetric and certain bisymmetric and nilpotent ones. Our approach is based on embedding the quantized function algebras on the orbits into the algebra of functions on the quantum group $SL_q(n)$ via reflection equation algebra characters.
Let M be a manifold with an action of a Lie group G, $\A$ the function algebra on M. The first problem we consider is to construct a $U_h(\g)$ invariant quantization, $\A_h$, of $\A$, where $U_h(\g)$ is a quantum group corresponding to G. Let s be a G invariant Poisson bracket on M. The second problem we consider is to construct a $U_h(\g)$ invariant two parameter (double) quantization, $\A_{t,h}$, of $\A$ such that $\A_{t,0}$ is a G invariant quantization of $s$. We call $\A_{t,h}$ a $U_h(\g)$ invariant quantization of the Poisson bracket s. In the paper we study the cases when G is a simple …
In this paper we describe a multiparameter deformation of the function algebra of a semisimple coadjoint orbit. In the first section we use the representation of the Lie algebra on a generalized Verma module to quantize the Kirillov bracket on the family of semisimple coadjoint orbits of a given orbit type. In the second section we extend this construction to define a deformation in the category of representations of the quantized enveloping algebra. In an earlier paper we used cohomological methods to prove the existence of a two parameter family quantizing a compatible pair of Poisson bracke…
In this article we describe the coadjoint orbits of SL(2,$\mathbb R$). After choosing polarizations for each orbits, we pointed out the corresponding quantum coadjoint orbits and therefore unitary representations of SL(2,$\mathbb R$) via deformation quantization.
The main goal of this paper is to compute the characteristic class of the Alekseev-Lachowska *-product on coadjoint orbits. We deduce an analogue of the Weyl dimension formula in the context of deformation quantization.
A method for the deformation quantization of coadjoint orbits of semisimple Lie groups is proposed. It is based on the algebraic structure of the orbit. Its relation to geometric quantization and differentiable deformations is explored.
In our previous paper, we constructed an explicit GL(n)-equivariant quantization of the Kirillov--Kostant-Souriau bracket on a semisimple coadjoint orbit. In the present paper, we realize that quantization as a subalgebra of endomorphisms of a generalized Verma module. As a corollary, we obtain an explicit description of the annihilators of generalized Verma modules over U(gl(n)). As an application, we construct real forms of the quantum orbits and classify finite dimensional representations. We compute the non-commutative Connes index for basic homogenous vector bundles over the quantum orbit…
We study properties of a family of algebraic star products defined on coadjoint orbits of semisimple Lie groups. We connect this description with the point of view of differentiable deformations and geometric quantization.
For $\g=sl(n)$ we construct a two parametric $U_h(\g)$-invariant family of algebras, $(S\g)_{t,h}$, which defines a quantization of the function algebra $S\g$ on the coadjoint representation and in the parameter $t$ gives a quantization of the Lie bracket. The family induces a two parametric deformation of the function algebra of any maximal orbit which is a quantization of the Kirillov-Kostant-Souriau bracket in the parameter $t$. In addition we construct a quantum de Rham complex on $\g^*$.
Deformation quantization and geometric quantization on Kähler manifolds give the mathematical description of the algebra of quantum observables and the Hilbert spaces respectively, where the later forms a representation of quantum observables asymptotically via Toeplitz operators. When there is a Hamiltonian $G$-action on a Kähler manifold, there are associated symmetries on both the quantum algebra and representation aspects. We show that in nice cases of coadjoint orbits and Kähler-Einstein manifolds, these symmetries are strictly compatible (not only asymptotically).
The quantization of vector bundles is defined. Examples are constructed for the well controlled case of equivariant vector bundles over compact coadjoint orbits. (Coadjoint orbits are symplectic spaces with a transitive, semisimple symmetry group.) In preparation for the main result, the quantization of coadjoint orbits is discussed in detail. This subject should not be confused with the quantization of the total space of a vector bundle such as the cotangent bundle.
In this paper is constructed an algebraic deformation quantization of the coadjoint orbits of the group G semidirect product of the symmetric n by n matrices and GL(n). This group is linked to the dynamics of the self gravitating ellipsoid.
In this paper we study algebraic supergroups and their coadjoint orbits as affine algebraic supervarieties. We find an algebraic deformation quantization of them that can be related to the fuzzy spaces of non commutative geometry.
We provide an explicit quantization of dynamical r-matrices for semisimple Lie algebras, classified earlier by the third author, which includes the Belavin-Drinfeld r-matrices. We do so by constructing an appropriate (dynamical) twist in the tensor square of the Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum group U_q(g), which twists the R-matrix of U_q(g) into the desired quatization. The construction of this twist is based on the method stemming from the work of Jimbo-Konno-Odake-Shiraishi and Arnaudon-Buffenoir-Ragoucy-Roche, i.e. on defining the twist as a unique solution of a suitable difference equation. This …
We present an explicit $\U_h\bigl(gl(n,\C)\bigr)$-equivariant quantization on coadjoint orbits of $GL(n,\C)$. It forms a two-parameter family quantizing the Poisson pair of the reflection equation and Kirillov-Kostant-Souriau brackets.
We develop a categorical approach to the dynamical Yang-Baxter equation (DYBE) for arbitrary Hopf algebras. In particular, we introduce the notion of a dynamical extension of a monoidal category, which provides a natural environment for quantum dynamical R-matrices, dynamical twists, {\em etc}. In this context, we define dynamical associative algebras and show that such algebras give quantizations of vector bundles on coadjoint orbits. We build a dynamical twist for any pair of a reductive Lie algebra and their Levi subalgebra. Using this twist, we obtain an equivariant star product quantizati…
We construct by geometric methods a noncommutative model E of the algebra of regular functions on the universal (2-fold) cover M of certain nilpotent coadjoint orbits O for a complex simple Lie algebra g. Here O is the dense orbit in the cotangent bundle of the generalized flag variety X associated to a complexified Cartan decomposition g=(p^+)+k+(p^-) where p^+- are Jordan algebras by the TKK construction. We obtain E as the algebra of g-finite differential operators on a smooth Lagrangian subvariety in M where g is given by differential operators twisted according to a critical parameter. Af…
The aim of this article is to give a quantization of some coisotropic subalgebras in complex semisimple Lie bialgebras. The coisotropic subalgebras that will be quantized are those given by Zambon in his paper "`A Construction for coisotropic subalgebras of Lie Bialgebras"' [Zam08]. We will also extend the construction for the exceptional complex semisimple Lie bialgebras.
We check The Vaisman condition of geometric quantization for R-matrix type Poisson pencil on a coadjoint orbit of a compact Lie group. It is shown that this condition isn't satisfied.
We consider a class of homogeneous manifolds including all semisimple coadjoint orbits. We describe manifolds of that class admitting deformation q uantizations equivariant under the action of $G$ and the corresponding quantum group. We also classify Poisson brackets relating to such quantizations.
In this paper we construct a deformation quantization of the algebra of polynomials of an arbitrary (regular and non regular) coadjoint orbit of a compact semisimple Lie group. The deformed algebra is given as a quotient of the enveloping algebra by a suitable ideal.
Let $Σ_{g,n}$ be a compact oriented surface of genus $g$ with $n$ open disks removed. The algebra $\mathcal{L}_{g,n}(H)$ was introduced by Alekseev-Grosse-Schomerus and Buffenoir-Roche and is a combinatorial quantization of the moduli space of flat connections on $Σ_{g,n}$. Here we focus on the two building blocks $\mathcal{L}_{0,1}(H)$ and $\mathcal{L}_{1,0}(H)$ under the assumption that the gauge Hopf algebra $H$ is finite-dimensional, factorizable and ribbon, but not necessarily semisimple. We construct a projective representation of $\mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{Z})$, the mapping class group of t…
We recall the construction of non-formal deformation quantization of the Poincare Group ISO(1,1) on its coadjoint orbit and exhibit the associated non-formal star-exponentials.
Let M be a Galois cover of a nilpotent coadjoint orbit of a complex semisimple Lie group. We define the notion of a PERFECT Dixmier algebra for M and show how this produces a graded (non-local) equivariant star product on M with several very nice properties. This is part of a larger program we have been developing for working out the orbit method for nilpotent orbits.
We classify filtered quantizations of conical symplectic singularities and use this to show that all filtered quantizations of symplectic quotient singularities are spherical Symplectic reflection algebras of Etingof and Ginzburg. We further apply our classification and a classification of filtered Poisson deformations obtained by Namikawa to establish a version of the Orbit method for semisimple Lie algebras. Namely, we produce a natural map from the set of adjoint orbits in a semisimple Lie algebra to the set of primitive ideals in the universal enveloping algebra. We show that the map is in…
In this paper an algebraic star product and differential one defined on a regular coadjoint orbit of a compact semisimple group are compared. It is proven that there is an injective algebra homomorphism between the algebra of polynomials with the algebraic star product and the algebra of differential functions with the differential star product structure.
Poisson-Lie (PL) dynamical r-matrices are generalizations of dynamical r-matrices, where the base is a Poisson-Lie group. We prove analogues of basic results for these r-matrices, namely constructions of (quasi)Poisson groupoids and of Poisson homogeneous spaces. We introduce a class of PL dynamical r-matrices, associated to nondegenerate Lie bialgebras with a splitting; this is a generalization of trigonometric r-matrices with an abelian base. We prove a composition theorem for PL dynamical r-matrices, and construct quantizations of the polarized PL dynamical r-matrices. This way, we obtain q…
We prove in this paper that the periodic cyclic homology of the quantized algebras of functions on coadjoint orbits of connected and simply connected Lie group, are isomorphic to the periodic cyclic homology of the quantized algebras of functions on coadjoint orbits of compact maximal subgroups, without localization. Some noncompact quantum groups and algebras were constructed and their irreducible representations were classified in recent works of Do Ngoc Diep and Nguyen Viet Hai, and Do Duc Hanh by using deformation quantization. In this paper we compute their K-groups, periodic cyclic homol…
We define the braided differential algebras which can be interpreted as quantization of the differential operator algebra defined on some algebraic varieties supplied with the action of the group GL(m). The algebra is generated by right invariant or coajoint vector fields. Our main example is gl^*(m) and coadjoint orbits in it. The Heisenberg double on the quantum group Fun_q(GL(m)is a particular case of the suggested construction.
In this paper we study a family of algebraic deformations of regular coadjoint orbits of compact semisimple Lie groups with the Kirillov Poisson bracket. The deformations are restrictions of deformations on the dual of the Lie algebra. We prove that there are non isomorphic deformations in the family. The star products are not differential, unlike the star products considered in other approaches. We make a comparison with the differential star product canonically defined by Kontsevich's map.
We construct quantization of semisimple conjugacy classes of the exceptional group $G=G_2$ along with and by means of their exact representations in highest weight modules of the quantum group $U_q(\mathfrak{g})$. With every point $t$ of a fixed maximal torus we associate a highest weight module $M_t$ over $U_q(\mathfrak{g})$ and realize the quantized polynomial algebra of the class of $t$ by linear operators on $M_t$. Quantizations corresponding to points of the same orbit of the Weyl group are isomorphic.
We construct explicit quantization of semisimple conjugacy classes of the complex orthogonal group SO(N) with non-Levi isotropy subgroups through an operator realization on highest weight modules of the quantum group U_q(so(N)).
We give the analogue for Hopf algebras of the polyuble Lie bialgebra construction by Fock and Rosli. By applying this construction to the Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum group, we obtain a deformation quantization $\mathbb{C}_\hslash[(N \backslash G)^m]$ of a Poisson structure $π^{(m)}$ on products $(N \backslash G)^m$ of principal affine spaces of a connected and simply connected complex semisimple Lie group $G$. The Poisson structure $π^{(m)}$ descends to a Poisson structure $π_m$ on products $(B \backslash G)^m$ of the flag variety of $G$ which was introduced and studied by the Lu and the author. An…
By considering spaces of directed Jacobi diagrams, we construct a diagrammatic version of the Etingof-Kazhdan quantization of complex semisimple Lie algebras. This diagrammatic quantization is used to provide a construction of a directed version of the Kontsevich integral, denoted $Z_EK$, in a way which is analogous to the construction of the Reshetikhin-Turaev invariants from the R-matrices of the Drinfel'd-Jimbo quantum groups. Based on this analogy, we conjecture (and prove in a restricted sense) a formula for the value of the invariant $Z_EK$ on the unknot. This formula is simpler than the…
The coadjoint orbits for the series $B_l,\ C_l$ and $D_l$ are considered in the case when the base point is a multiple of a fundamental weight. A quantization of the big cell is suggested by means of introducing a $\ast$-algebra generated by holomorphic coordinate functions. Starting from this algebraic structure the irreducible representations of the deformed universal enveloping algebra are derived as acting in the vector space of polynomials in quantum coordinate functions.
We classify in this paper Poisson structures on modules over semisimple Lie algebras arising from classical r-matrices. We then study their quantizations and the relation to classical invariant theory.
Let $O$ be a closed Poisson conjugacy class of the complex algebraic Poisson group GL(n) relative to the Drinfeld-Jimbo factorizable classical r-matrix. Denote by $T$ the maximal torus of diagonal matrices in GL(n). With every $a\in O\cap T$ we associate a highest weight module $M_a$ over the quantum group $U_q(gl(n))$ and an equivariant quantization $C_{h,a}[O]$ of the polynomial ring $C[O]$ realized by operators on $M_a$. All quantizations $C_{h,a}[O]$ are isomorphic and can be regarded as different exact representations of the same algebra, $C_{h}[O]$. Similar results are obtained for semis…
Let $ G^τ$ be a connected simply connected semisimple algebraic group, endowed with generalized Sklyanin-Drinfeld structure of Poisson group; let $ H^τ$ be its dual Poisson group. By means of Drinfeld's double construction and dualization via formal Hopf algebras, we construct new quantum groups $ U_{q,ϕ}^M ({\frak h}) $ --- dual of $ U_{q,ϕ}^{M'} ({\frak g}) $ --- which yield infinitesimal quantization of $ H^τ$ and $ G^τ$; we study their specializations at roots of 1 (in particular, their classical limits), thus discovering new quantum Frobenius morphisms. The whole description dualize for $…

In this paper, we construct a quantization functor, associating a complex vector space H(V) to a finite dimensional symplectic vector space V over a finite field of odd characteristic. As a result, we obtain a canonical model for the Weil representation of the symplectic group Sp(V). The main new technical result is a proof of a stronger form of the Stone-von Neumann property for the Heisenberg group. Our result answers, for the case of the Heisenberg group, a question of Kazhdan about the possible existence of a canonical vector space attached to a coadjoint orbit of a general unipotent group…
Given a simple Lie algebra $\gggg$, we consider the orbits in $\gggg^*$ which are of R-matrix type, i.e., which possess a Poisson pencil generated by the Kirillov-Kostant-Souriau bracket and the so-called R-matrix bracket. We call an algebra quantizing the latter bracket a quantum orbit of R-matrix type. We describe some orbits of this type explicitly and we construct a quantization of the whole Poisson pencil on these orbits in a similar way. The notions of q-deformed Lie brackets, braided coadjoint vector fields and tangent vector fields are discussed as well.
