We present an explicit $\U_h\bigl(gl(n,\C)\bigr)$-equivariant quantization on coadjoint orbits of $GL(n,\C)$. It forms a two-parameter family quantizing the Poisson pair of the reflection equation and Kirillov-Kostant-Souriau brackets.
We generalize the results of [KMST] concerning equivariant quantization by means of Verma modules $M(λ)$ for generic weight $λ$ to the case of general $λ$. We consider the relationship between the Shapovalov form on an irreducible highest weight module of a semisimple complex Lie algebra, fusion elements, and equivariant quantization. We also discuss some limiting properties of fusion elements. [KMST] E. Karolinsky and A. Stolin, Dynamical Yang-Baxter equations, quasi-Poisson homogeneous spaces, and quantization, Lett. Math. We prove that the reflection equation (RE) algebra $\La_R$ associated with a finite dimensional representation of a quasitriangular Hopf algebra $\Ha$ is twist-equivalent to the corresponding Faddeev-Reshetikhin-Takhtajan (FRT) algebra. We show that $\La_R$ is a module algebra over the twisted tensor square \twist{$\Ha$}{$\Ha$} and the double $\D(\Ha)$. We define FRT- and RE-type algebras and apply them to the problem of equivariant quantization on Lie groups and matrix spaces.
Let $G$ be a reductive Lie group, $\g$ its Lie algebra, and $M$ a $G$-manifold. Suppose $\A_h(M)$ is a $\U_h(\g)$-equivariant quantization of the function algebra $\A(M)$ on $M$. We develop a method of building $\U_h(\g)$-equivariant quantization on $G$-orbits in $M$ as quotients of $\A_h(M)$. We are concerned with those quantizations that may be simultaneously represented as subalgebras in $\U^*_h(\g)$ and quotients of $\A_h(M)$. It turns out that they are in one-to-one correspondence with characters of the algebra $\A_h(M)$. We specialize our approach to the situation $\g=gl(n,\C)$, $M=\End(…
We extend projectively equivariant quantization and symbol calculus to symbols of pseudo-differential operators. An explicit expression in terms of hypergeometric functions with noncommutative arguments is given. Some examples are worked out, one of them yielding a quantum length element on $S^3$.
Using an equivariant version of Connes' Thom Isomorphism,w}e prove that equivariant $K$-theory is invariant under strict deformation quantization for a compact Lie group action.
We consider a class of homogeneous manifolds including all semisimple coadjoint orbits. We describe manifolds of that class admitting deformation q uantizations equivariant under the action of $G$ and the corresponding quantum group. We also classify Poisson brackets relating to such quantizations.
By computing certain cohomology of Vect(M) of smooth vector fields we prove that on 1-dimensional manifolds M there is no quantization map intertwining the action of non-projective embeddings of the Lie algebra sl(2) into the Lie algebra Vect(M). Contrariwise, for projective embeddings sl(2)-equivariant quantization exists.
The existence and uniqueness of quantizations that are equivariant with respect to conformal and projective Lie algebras of vector fields were recently obtained by Duval, Lecomte and Ovsienko. In order to do so, they computed spectra of some Casimir operators. We give an explicit formula for those spectra in the general framework of IFFT-algebras classified by Kobayashi and Nagano. We also define tree-like subsets of eigenspaces of those operators in which eigenvalues can be compared to show the existence of IFFT-equivariant quantizations. We apply our results to prove existence and uniqueness…
Let g be a Lie bialgebra and let V be a finite-dimensional g-module. We study deformations of the symmetric algebra of V which are equivariant with respect to an action of the quantized enveloping algebra of g. In particular we investigate such quantizations obtained from the quantization of certain Lie bialgebra structures on the semidirect product of g and V. We classify these structure in the important special case, when g is complex, simple, with quasitriangular Lie bialgebra structure and V is a simple g-module. We then introduce more a general notion, co-Poisson module algebras and their…
We prove the existence and the uniqueness of a conformally equivariant symbol calculus and quantization on any conformally flat pseudo-Riemannian manifold $(M,\rg)$. In other words, we establish a canonical isomorphism between the spaces of polynomials on $T^*M$ and of differential operators on tensor densities over $M$, both viewed as modules over the Lie algebra $\so(p+1,q+1)$ where $p+q=\dim(M)$. This quantization exists for generic values of the weights of the tensor densities and compute the critical values of the weights yielding obstructions to the existence of such an isomorphism. In t…
The quantization of vector bundles is defined. Examples are constructed for the well controlled case of equivariant vector bundles over compact coadjoint orbits. (Coadjoint orbits are symplectic spaces with a transitive, semisimple symmetry group.) In preparation for the main result, the quantization of coadjoint orbits is discussed in detail. This subject should not be confused with the quantization of the total space of a vector bundle such as the cotangent bundle.
Let $(M,g)$ be a pseudo-Riemannian manifold and $F_λ(M)$ the space of densities of degree $λ$ on $M$. We study the space $D^2_{λ,μ}(M)$ of second-order differential operators from $F_λ(M)$ to $F_μ(M)$. If $(M,g)$ is conformally flat with signature $p-q$, then $D^2_{λ,μ}(M)$ is viewed as a module over the group of conformal transformations of $M$. We prove that, for almost all values of $μ-λ$, the $O(p+1,q+1)$-modules $D^2_{λ,μ}(M)$ and the space of symbols (i.e., of second-order polynomials on $T^*M$) are canonically isomorphic. This yields a conformally equivariant quantization for quadratic …
This article is a survey of recent work of the authors developing a new approach to quantization based on the equivariance with respect to some Lie group of symmetries. Examples are provided by conformal and projective differential geometry: given a smooth manifold M endowed with a flat conformal/projective structure, we establish a canonical isomorphism between the space of symmetric contravariant tensor fields on M and the space of differential operators on M. This leads to a notion of conformally/projectively invariant star-product on $T^*M$.
We construct equivariant quantization of a special family of Levi conjugacy classes of the complex orthogonal group $SO(N)$, whose stabilizer contains a Cartesian factor $SO(2)\times SO(P)$, $1\leqslant P<N$, $P\equiv N \mod 2$.
We present explicit formulas for deformation quantization on the co-adjoint orbits of the real diamond Lie group. From this we obtain quantum half-plans, quantum hyperbolic cylinders, quantum hyperbolic paraboloids via Fedosov deformation quantization and finally, the corresponding unitary representations of this group.
Let $G$ be the complex general linear group and $g$ its Lie algebra equipped with a factorizable Lie bialgebra structure; let $U_h$ be the corresponding quantum group. We construct explicit $U_h$-equivariant quantization of Poisson orbit bundles $O_λ\to O_μ$ in $gl(n)*$.
Let $\XR$ be a (generalized) flag manifold of a non-compact real semisimple Lie group $\GR$, where $\XR$ and $\GR$ have complexifications X and G. We investigate the problem of constructing a graded star product on $Pol(T^*\XR)$ which corresponds to a $\GR$-equivariant quantization of symbols into smooth differential operators acting on half-densities on $\XR$. We show that any solution is algebraic in that it restricts to a G-equivariant graded star product star on the algebraic part R of $Pol(T^*\XR)$. We construct, when R is generated by the momentum functions $μ^x$ for G, a preferred choic…
Let $\mathfrak g$ be a finite dimensional split semisimple Lie algebra and $λ$ a weight of $\mathfrak g$. Let $F$ be the algebra of quantized regular functions on the connected simply connected group $G$ corresponding to $\mathfrak g$. In the present paper we introduce a certain subspace $F'$ of $F$ (which is not necessary a subalgebra of $F$) and endow it with an associative $\star$-product using the so-called reduced fusion element. We prove that the algebra $(F',\star)$ is isomorphic to $(L(λ))_{fin}$, where $L(λ)$ is the irreducible highest weight $\check{U}_q\mathfrak g$-module and "$fin$…
Given a compact simple Lie group G and a primitive degree 3 twist h, we define a monoidal category C(G, h) with a May structure. An object in the category C(G, h) is a pair (X, f), where X is a compact G-manifold and f a smooth G-map from X to G with respect to the conjugation action of G on itself. Such an object determines a module, the equivariant twisted K-homology K^G(X, f^*(h)), for the Verlinde algebra, termed a Verlinde module, where the module action is induced by the G-action on X. In order to understand which objects in C(G, h) can be quantized, we define the closely related monoida…
Using $\star$-product on Co-adjoint orbits (K-orbits) of the $\MD_4$- groups we obtain quantum half-planes, quantum hyperbolic cylinders, quantum hyperbolic paraboloids...via Fedosov deformation quantization. From this we have corresponding unitary representations of the $\MD_4$- groups. Particularly, for groups $\G_{4,2,3(ϕ)}; \G_{4,2,4}; \G_{4,3,4(ϕ)}$ and $ \G_{4,4,1} $, which are neither nilpotent nor exponential, we obtain the explicit formulas.
We construct start-products on the co-adjoint orbit of Lie group $\Aff({\bf C})$ of affine transformations of the complex straight line and apply them to obtain the irreducible unitary representations of this group. These results show effectiveness of the Fedosov quantization even for groups which are neither nilpotent nor exponential. Together with the result for the group $\Aff({\bf R})$ in math.QA/9905002, we have thus a description of quantum $\bar{MD}$ co-adjoint orbits.
