Every conic symplectic singularity admits a universal Poisson deformation and a universal filtered quantization, thanks to the work of Losev and Namikawa. We begin this paper by showing that every such variety admits a universal equivariant Poisson deformation and a universal equivariant quantization with respect to a reductive group acting on it by $\mathbb{C}^\times$-equivariant Poisson automorphisms.
We go on to study these definitions in the context of nilpotent Slodowy slices. First we give a complete description of the cases in which the finite $W$-algebra is a universal filtered quantization of the slice, building on the work of Lehn--Namikawa--Sorger. This leads to a near-complete classification of the filtered quantizations of nilpotent Slodowy slices.
The subregular slices in non-simply-laced Lie algebras are especially interesting: with some minor restrictions on Dynkin type we prove that the finite $W$-algebra is a universal equivariant quantization with respect to the Dynkin automorphisms coming from the unfolding of the Dynkin diagram. This can be seen as a non-commutative analogue of Slodowy's theorem. Finally we apply this result to give a presentation of the subregular finite $W$-algebra in type B as a quotient of a shifted Yangian.
We define algebraic group analogues of the Slodowy transversal slices to adjoint orbits in a complex semisimple Lie algebra g. The new slices are transversal to the conjugacy classes in an algebraic group G with Lie algebra g. These slices are associated to (the conjugacy classes of) elements s of the Weyl group W of g. For such slices we prove an analogue of the Kostant cross-section theorem for the action of a unipotent group.
We study general properties of quantisations of Slodowy slices and discuss in detail the case of the minimal nilpotent orbit. Associated varieties of related primitive ideals of U(g) are determined, in the general case, and the de Vos-van Driel conjecture on Verma modules for finite W-algebras is proved in the minimal nilpotent case.
The Slodowy slice is an especially nice slice to a given nilpotent conjugacy class in a semisimple Lie algebra. Premet introduced noncommutative quantizaions of the Poisson algebra of polynomial functions on the Slodowy slice. In this paper, we define and study Harish-Chandra bimodules over Premet's algebras. We apply the technique of Harish-Chandra bimodules to prove a conjecture of Premet concerning primitive ideals, and to construct `noncommutative resolutions' of Slodowy slices via translation functors.
Let g be a finite-dimensional simple Lie algebra of rank r over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero, and let e be a nilpotent element of g. Denote by g^e the centralizer of e in g and by S(g^e)^{g^e} the algebra of symmetric invariants of g^e. We say that e is good if the nullvariety of some r homogeneous elements of S(g^e)^{g^e} in the dual of g^{e} has codimension r. If e is good then S(g^e)^{g^e} is polynomial. The main result of this paper stipulates that if for some homogeneous generators of S(g^e)^{g^e}, the initial homogeneous component of their restrictions to e+g^f ar…
This is an expository article on the singularities of nilpotent orbit closures in simple Lie algebras over the complex numbers. It is slanted towards aspects that are relevant for representation theory, including Maffei's theorem relating Slodowy slices to Nakajima quiver varieties in type A. There is one new observation: the results of Juteau and Mautner, combined with Maffei's theorem, give a geometric proof of a result on decomposition numbers of Schur algebras due to Fang, Henke and Koenig.
We investigate the irreducibility of the nilpotent Slodowy slices that appear as the associated variety of W-algebras. Furthermore, we provide new examples of vertex algebras whose associated variety has finitely many symplectic leaves.
We provide examples of an explicit submanifold in Bridgeland stabilities space of a local Calabi-Yau, and propose a new variant of definition of stabilities on a triangulated category, which we call a "real variation of stability conditions". We discuss its relation to Bridgeland's definition; the main theorem provides an illustration of such a relation. We also state a conjecture by the second author and Okounkov relating this structure to quantum cohomology of symplectic resolutions and establish its validity in some special cases. More precisely, let X be the standard resolution of a transv…
It is known that any primitive ideal I of U(g) whose associated variety contains a nilpotent element e in its open G-orbit admits a finite generalised Gelfand-Graev model which is a finite dimensional irreducible module over the finite W-algebra U(g,e). We prove that if V is such a model for I, then the Goldie rank of the primitive quotient U(g)/I always divides the dimension of V. For g=sl(n), we use a result of Joseph to show that the Goldie rank of U(g)/I equals the dimension of V and we show that the equality conntinues to hold outside type A provided that the Goldie field of U(g)/I is iso…
Let g be a complex simple Lie algebra, f a nilpotent element of g. We show that (1) the center of the W-algebra $W^{cri}(g,f)$ associated with (g,f) at the critical level coincides with the Feigin-Frenkel center of the affine Lie algebra associated with g, (2) the centerless quotient $W_χ(g,f)$ of $W^{cri}(g,f)$ corresponding to an oper $χ$ on the disc is simple, (3) the simple quotient $W_χ(g,f)$ is a quantization of the jet scheme of the intersection of the Slodowy slice at f with the nilpotent cone of g.

Let g be a complex simple Lie algebra and e a nilpotent element in g. To a certain nilpotent subalgebra m attached to e, called an admissible subalgebra of g, we associate an endomorphism algebra H. When m is constructed from a good grading for e, we recover the finite W-algebra associated to e and it is well-known that gr(H) is isomorphic to \C[S] as a graded Poisson algebra where S is the Slodowy slice of e and gr(H) is the graded algebra associated to the Kazhdan filtration. In this paper, we consider the case where g =\sl_{pn}(\C) and e consists of p Jordan blocks all of the same size n. H…
In this paper, we study sheets of symmetric Lie algebras through their Slodowy slices. In particular, we introduce a notion of slice induction of nilpotent orbits which coincides with the parabolic induction in the Lie algebra case. We also study in more details the sheets of the non-trivial symmetric Lie algebra of type G2. We characterize their singular loci and provide a nice desingularisation lying in so7.
In this paper we prove an analogue of a recent result of Gordon and Stafford that relates the representation theory of certain noncommutative deformations of the coordinate ring of the n-th symmetric power of C^2 with the geometry of the Hilbert scheme of n points in C^2 through the formalism of Z-algebras. Our work produces, for every regular noncommutative deformation O^λof a Kleinian singularity X=C^2/Γ, as defined by Crawley-Boevey and Holland, a filtered Z-algebra which is Morita equivalent to O^λ, such that the associated graded Z-algebra is Morita equivalent to the minimal resolution of…
We study the problem of the existence of filtered multiplicative bases of a restricted enveloping algebra u(L), where L is a finite-dimensional and p-nilpotent restricted Lie algebra over a field of positive characteristic p.
We study the transverse Poisson structure to adjoint orbits in a complex semi-simple Lie algebra. The problem is first reduced to the case of nilpotent orbits. We prove then that in suitably chosen quasi-homogeneous coordinates the quasi-degree of the transverse Poisson structure is -2. In the particular case of {\emph subregular} nilpotent orbits we show that the structure may be computed by means of a simple determinantal formula, involving the restriction of the Chevalley invariants on the slice. In addition, using results of Brieskorn and Slodowy, the Poisson structure is reduced to a thre…
We present a quantization of an isomorphism of Mirković and Vybornov which relates the intersection of a Slodowy slice and a nilpotent orbit closure in $\mathfrak{gl}_N$ , to a slice between spherical Schubert varieties in the affine Grassmannian of $PGL_n$ (with weights encoded by the Jordan types of the nilpotent orbits). A quantization of the former variety is provided by a parabolic W-algebra and of the latter by a truncated shifted Yangian. Building on earlier work of Brundan and Kleshchev, we define an explicit isomorphism between these non-commutative algebras, and show that its classic…
We prove a conjecture which expresses the bigraded Poisson-de Rham homology of the nilpotent cone of a semisimple Lie algebra in terms of the generalized (one-variable) Kostka polynomials, via a formula suggested by Lusztig. This allows us to construct a canonical family of filtrations on the flag variety cohomology, and hence on irreducible representations of the Weyl group, whose Hilbert series are given by the generalized Kostka polynomials. We deduce consequences for the cohomology of all Springer fibers. In particular, this computes the grading on the zeroth Poisson homology of all classi…

In this paper, we study the set of $Δ$-filtered modules of quasi-hereditary algebras arising from quotients of the double of quivers of type $A$. Our main result is that for any fixed $Δ$-dimension vector, there is a unique (up to isomorphism) exceptional $Δ$-filtered module. We then apply this result to show that there is always an open adjoint orbit in the nilpotent radical of a seaweed Lie algebra in $\mathrm{gl}_{n}(\field)$, thus answering positively in this $\mathrm{gl}_{n}(\field)$ case to a question raised independently by Michel Duflo and Dmitri Panyushev. An example of a seaweed Lie …
Let $Γ$ and $Λ$ be artin algebras such that $Γ$ is a split-by-nilpotent extension of $Λ$ by a two sided ideal $I$ of $Γ.$ Consider the so-called change of rings functors $G:={}_ΓΓ_Λ\otimes_Λ-$ and $F:={}_ΛΛ_Γ\otimes_Γ-.$ In this paper, we find the necessary and sufficient conditions under which a stratifying system $(Θ,\leq)$ in $\moduΛ$ can be lifted to a stratifying system $(GΘ,\leq)$ in $\modu\,(Γ).$ Furthermore, by using the functors $F$ and $G,$ we study the relationship between their filtered categories of modules and some connections with their corresponding standardly stratified algebr…
First, we derive an explicit formula for the Poisson bracket of the classical finite W-algebra W^{fin}(g,f), the algebra of polynomial functions on the Slodowy slice associated to a simple Lie algebra g and its nilpotent element f. On the other hand, we produce an explicit set of generators and we derive an explicit formula for the Poisson vertex algebra structure of the classical affine W-algebra W(g,f). As an immediate consequence, we obtain a Poisson algebra isomorphism between W^{fin}(g,f) and the Zhu algebra of W(g,f). We also study the generalized Miura map for classical W-algebras.
