The Einstein equations (EE) are certain conditions on the Riemann tensor on the real Minkowski space M. In the twistor picture, after complexification and compactification M becomes the Grassmannian $Gr_{2}^{4}$ of 2-dimensional subspaces in the 4-dimensional complex one. Here we answer for which of the classical domains considered as manifolds with G-structure it is possible to impose conditions similar in some sense to EE. The above investigation has its counterpart on superdomains: an analog of the Riemann tensor is defined for any supermanifold with G-structure with any Lie supergroup G. We also derive similar analogues of EE on supermanifolds. Our analogs of EE are not what physicists consider as SUGRA (supergravity), for SUGRA see \cite{GL4,LP2}.
We show that every bundle gerbe on a supermanifold decomposes into a bundle gerbe over the underlying manifold and a 2-form on the supermanifold. This decomposition is not canonical, but is determined by the choice of a projection map to the underlying manifold. Along the way, we prove the familiar cohomological classification theorems for bundle gerbes and bundle gerbes with connection in the context of supermanifolds.
In this paper, we provide an accessible introduction to the theory of locally convex supermanifolds in the categorical approach. In this setting, a supermanifold is a functor $\mathcal{M}\colon\mathbf{Gr}\to\mathbf{Man}$ from the category of Grassmann algebras to the category of locally convex manifolds that has certain local models, forming something akin to an atlas. We give a mostly self-contained, concrete definition of supermanifolds along these lines, closing several gaps in the literature on the way. If $Λ_n\in\mathbf{Gr}$ is the Grassmann algebra with $n$ generators, we show that $\mat…
A new construction of homogeneous quaternionic manifolds and related geometric structures
We generalize the Donagi and Witten construction of a first obstruction class for splitting of a supermanifold via differential operators using the theory of $n$-fold vector bundles and graded manifolds. Applying the generalized Donagi--Witten construction we obtain a family of embeddings of the category of supermanifolds into the category of $n$-fold vector bundles and into the category of graded manifolds. This leads to a realization of any non-split supermanifold in terms of a collection of vector bundles and some morphism between them. Further we study the images of these embeddings into t…
D-branes and Azumaya/matrix noncommutative differential geometry,II: Azumaya/matrix supermanifolds and differentiable maps therefrom -- with a view toward dynamical fermionic D-branes in string theory
We define and make an initial study of (even) Riemannian supermanifolds equipped with a homological vector field that is also a Killing vector field. We refer to such supermanifolds as Riemannian Q-manifolds. We show that such Q-manifolds are unimodular, i.e., come equipped with a Q-invariant Berezin volume.
We give an exposition of graded and microformal geometry, and the language of $Q$-manifolds. $Q$-manifolds are supermanifolds endowed with an odd vector field of square zero. They can be seen as a non-linear analogue of Lie algebras (in parallel with even and odd Poisson manifolds), a basis of "non-linear homological algebra", and a powerful tool for describing algebraic and geometric structures. This language goes together with that of graded manifolds, which are supermanifolds with an extra $\mathbb{Z}$-grading in the structure sheaf. "Microformal geometry" is a new notion referring to "thic…
In this text we combine the notions of supergeometry and supersymmetry. We construct a special class of supermanifolds whose reduced manifolds are (pseudo) Riemannian manifolds. These supermanifolds allow us to treat vector fields on the one hand and spinor fields on the other hand as equivalent geometric objects. This is the starting point of our definition of {supersymmetric Killing structures}. The latter combines subspaces of vector fields and spinor fields, provided they fulfill certain field equations. This naturally leads to a superalgebra that extends the supersymmetry algebra to the c…
As a generalization of Einstein manifolds, the nearly quasi-Einstein manifolds and pseudo quasi-Einstein manifolds are both interesting and useful in studying the general relativity. In this paper, we study the extended quasi-Einstein manifolds which derive from pseudo quasi-Einstein manifolds. After showing the existence theorem of extended quasi-Einstein manifold, we give some special geometric properties of such manifolds. At the same time, we also discuss the extended quasi-Einstein manifolds with certain soliton like generalised Ricci soliton or Riemann soliton. Furthermore, we construct …
We establish variational formulas for Ricci upper and lower bounds, as well as a derivative formula for the Ricci curvature. As applications, constant curvature manifolds, Einstein manifolds and Ricci parallel manifolds are identified, respectively, with different integral-differential formulas and semigroup inequalities. Moreover, by using derivative and Hessian formulas for the heat semigroup $P_t$ developed from stochastic analysis, explicit Hessian estimates are derived on Einstein and Ricci parallel manifolds.
Inspired by the study of $V$-static manifold about classification, in this article, we apply the recent results obtained by Freitas and Gomes (Compact gradient Einstein-type manifolds with boundary, 2022) to prove the rigidity results for compact gradient Einstein-type manifolds with nonempty boundary and constant scalar curvature under some suitable pinching conditions. As a special case of gradient Einstein-type manifold, we also give a rigidity result of $(m,ρ)$-quasi-Einstein manifold with boundary.
In this article, we study Einstein-Weyl structures on almost cosymplectic manifolds. First we prove that an almost cosymplectic $(κ,μ)$-manifold is Einstein or cosymplectic if it admits a closed Einstein-Weyl structure or two Einstein-Weyl structures. Next for a three dimensional compact almost $α$-cosymplectic manifold admitting closed Einstein-Weyl structures, we prove that it is Ricc-flat. Further, we show that an almost $α$-cosymplectic admitting two Einstein-Weyl structures is either Einstein or $α$-cosymplectic, provided that its Ricci tensor is commuting. Finally, we prove that a compac…
We show that a connection with skew-symmetric torsion satisfying the Einstein metricity condition exists on an almost contact metric manifold exactly when it is D-homothetic to a cosymplectic manifold. In dimension five, we get that the existence of a connection with skew torsion satisfying the Einstein metricity condition is equivalent to the existence of a Sasaki-Einstein 5-manifold and vice versa, any Sasaki-Einstein 5-manifold generates a two parametric family of connections with skew torsion satisfying the Einstein metricity condition. Formulas for the curvature and the Ricci tensors of t…
The object of the present paper is to study some properties of para-K$ä$hler manifold whose metric is conformal Einstein soliton. We have studied some certain curvature properties of para-K$ä$hler manifold admitting conformal Einstein soliton.
The goal of this article is to study compact quasi-Einstein manifolds with boundary. We provide boundary estimates for compact quasi-Einstein manifolds simi\-lar to previous results obtained for static and $V$-static spaces. In addition, we show that compact quasi-Einstein manifolds with connected boundary and satisfying a suitable pinching condition must be isometric, up to scaling, to the standard hemisphere $\mathbb{S}_{+}^{n}.$
In this paper, we show that, for every Hermitian vector bundle over a compact Kaehler Einstein manifold, if the projection is biharmonic, then it is harmonic.
Throughout the history of Einstein manifolds, differential geometers have shown great interest in finding the relationships between curvature and the topology of Einstein manifolds. In the paper, first, we prove that a compact Einstein manifold $(M,g)$ with Einstein constant $α>0$ is a homo-logical sphere when the minimum of its sectional curvatures $> α/(n+ 2)$; in particular, $(M,g)$ is a spherical space form when the minimum of its sectional curvatures $> α/ n$. Second, we prove two propositions (similar to the above ones) for Tachibana numbers of a compact Einstein manifold $(M,g)$ with $α…
In this paper, we define the spectral Einstein functional associated with the Dirac operator for manifolds with boundary. And we give the proof of Kastler-Kalau-Walze type theorem for the spectral Einstein functional associated with the Dirac operator on 4-dimensional manifolds with boundary.
An Einstein manifold is called scalar curvature rigid if there are no compactly supported volume-preserving deformation of the metric which increase the scalar curvature. We give various characterizations of scalar curvature rigidity for open Einstein manifolds as well as for closed Einstein manifolds. As an application, we construct mass-decreasing perturbations of the Riemannian Schwarzschild metric and the Taub-Bolt metric.
We find the necessary conditions for a sequential warped product manifold to be a quasi-Einstein manifold. We also investigate the necessary and sufficient conditions for a sequential standard static space-time and a sequential generalized Robertson-Walker space-time to be a manifold of quasi-constant curvature.
In this paper, we investigate the geometry of Einstein-type equation on a Riemannian manifold, unifying various particular geometric structures recently studied in the literature, such as critical point equation and vacuum static equation. We show various rigidity results of Einstein-type manifolds under assumptions of several curvature conditions.
The main objective of this paper is to investigate the $m$-quasi Einstein manifold when the potential function becomes convex. In this article, it is proved that an $m$-quasi Einstein manifold satisfying some integral conditions with vanishing Ricci curvature along the direction of potential vector field has constant scalar curvature and hence the manifold turns out to be an Einstein manifold. It is also shown that in an $m$-quasi Einstein manifold the potential function agrees with Hodge-de Rham potential up to a constant. Finally, it is proved that if a complete non-compact and non-expanding…
We present a non existence result of complete, Einstein hypersurfaces tangent to the Reeb vector field of a regular Sasakian manifold which fibers onto a complex Stein manifold.
In this article, we study the geometry of compact quasi-Einstein manifolds with boundary. We establish sharp boundary estimates for compact quasi-Einstein manifolds with boundary that improve some previous results. Moreover, we obtain a characterization theorem for such manifolds in terms of the surface gravity of the boundary components, which leads to a new sharp geometric inequality. In addition, we prove a boundary estimate for compact quasi-Einstein manifolds with (possibly disconnected) boundary in terms of the Brown-York mass.
