We define the notion of characteristic classes for supermanifolds endowed with a homological vector field $Q$. These take values in the cohomology of the Lie derivative operator $L_Q$ acting on arbitrary tensor fields. We formulate a classification theorem for intrinsic characteristic classes and give their explicit description.

Modular classes of Q-manifolds: a review and some applications

A Q-manifold is a supermanifold equipped with an odd vector field that squares to zero. The notion of the modular class of a Q-manifold -- which is viewed as the obstruction to the existence of a Q-invariant Berezin volume -- is not well know. We review the basic ideas and then apply this technology to various examples, including $L_{\infty}$-algebroids and higher Poisson manifolds.

Submanifolds of generalized complex manifolds

The main goal of our paper is the study of several classes of submanifolds of generalized complex manifolds. Along with the generalized complex submanifolds defined by Gualtieri and Hitchin (we call these ``generalized Lagrangian submanifolds'' in our paper), we introduce and study three other classes of submanifolds. Almost Commutative Manifolds and Their Modular Classes

An almost commutative algebra, or a $ρ$-commutative algebra, is an algebra which is graded by an abelian group and whose commutativity is controlled by a function called a commutation factor. The same way as a formulation of a supermanifold as a ringed space, we introduce concepts of the $ρ$-commutative versions of manifolds, Q-manifolds, Berezin volume forms, and the modular classes. They are generalizations of the ones in supergeometry. We give examples including a $ρ$-commutative version of the Schouten bracket and a noncommutative torus.

Characteristic classes of star products on Marsden-Weinstein reduced symplectic manifolds

In this note we consider a quantum reduction scheme in deformation quantization on symplectic manifolds proposed by Bordemann, Herbig and Waldmann based on BRST cohomology. We explicitly construct the induced map on equivalence classes of star products which will turn out to be an analogue to the Kirwan map but in the Cartan model of equivariant cohomology. As a byproduct we shall see that every star product on a (suitable) reduced manifold is equivalent to a reduced star product.

The characteristic classes of Morita equivalent star products on symplectic manifolds

In this paper we give a complete characterization of Morita equivalent star products on symplectic manifolds in terms of their characteristic classes: two star products $\star$ and $\star'$ on $(M,ω)$ are Morita equivalent if and only if there exists a symplectomorphism $ψ:M\longrightarrow M$ such that the relative class $t(\star,ψ^*(\star'))$ is $2 π\im$-integral. For star products on cotangent bundles, we show that this integrality condition is related to Dirac's quantization condition for magnetic charges.

Morita equivalence and characteristic classes of star products

This paper deals with two aspects of the theory of characteristic classes of star products: first, on an arbitrary Poisson manifold, we describe Morita equivalent star products in terms of their Kontsevich classes; second, on symplectic manifolds, we describe the relationship between Kontsevich's and Fedosov's characteristic classes of star products.
