In deformation quantization one can associate five characteristic functions to (stable) formality morphisms on cochains and chains and to "two-brane" formality morphisms. We show that these characteristic functions agree.
We construct deformation quantizations with separation of variables on a split super-Kähler manifold and describe their canonical supertrace densities.
We introduce dg Lie algebras controlling the deformations of vertex algebras and vertex Poisson algebras, utilizing the notion of operadic dg Lie algebra and the theory of chiral algebra. In terms of those dg Lie algebras, we formulate the deformation quantization problem of vertex Poisson algebras to vertex algebras.
In this paper we shall show the equivalence of algebraic and analytic localisation for algebras of smooth deformation quantization for several situations. The proofs are based on old work by Whitney, Malgrange and Tougeron on the commutative algebra of smooth function rings from the 60's and 70's.
We give a heat kernel proof of the algebraic index theorem for deformation quantization with separation of variables on a pseudo-Kahler manifold. We use normalizations of the canonical trace density of a star product and of the characteristic classes involved in the index formula for which this formula contains no extra constant factors.
Let $X$ be a smooth affine symplectic variety over $\mathbb{Z}/p\mathbb{Z},$ and let $A_1$ be an Azumaya algebra over $X.$ In this note we show that if $A$ is a deformation quantization of $A_1$ over $\mathbb{Z}/p^n\mathbb{Z}$, then any two-sided $\mathbb{Z}/p^n\mathbb{Z}$-flat ideal in $A$ is generated by central elements.
We study the deformation complex of the dg wheeled properad of $\mathbb{Z}$-graded quadratic Poisson structures and prove that it is quasi-isomorphic to the even M. Kontsevich graph complex. As a first application we show that the Grothendieck-Teichmüller group acts on the genus completion of that wheeled properad faithfully and essentially transitively. As a second application we classify all universal quantizations of $\mathbb{Z}$-graded quadratic Poisson structures together with the underlying (so called) homogeneous formality maps. In particular we show that two universal quantizations of …
Let X be a smooth algebraic variety over a field K containing the real numbers. We introduce the notion of twisted associative (resp. Poisson) deformation of the structure sheaf of X. These are stack-like versions of usual deformations. We prove that there is a twisted quantization operation from twisted Poisson deformations to twisted associative deformations, which is canonical and bijective on gauge equivalence classes. This result extends work of Kontsevich, and our own earlier work, on deformation quantization of algebraic varieties.
We study when a finite dimensional Hopf action on a quantum formal deformation A of a commutative domain A_0 (i.e., a deformation quantization) must factor through a group algebra. In particular, we show that this occurs when the Poisson center of the fraction field of A_0 is trivial.
Non-formal deformation quantizations of solvable Ricci-type symplectic symmetric spaces
Universal Deformation Formulas (UDFs) for the deformation of associative algebras play a key role in deformation quantization. Here we present examples for certain classes of infinitesimals. A basic representable 2-cocycle $F$ of an associative algebra $\mathcal A$ is one for which there exist commuting derivations $D,\dots, D_n$ of $\mathcal A$ such that $F = \sum_{ij}a_{ij}D_i \smile D_j$, where the $a_{ij}$ are central elements of $\mathcal A$. When $\mathcal A$ is defined over the rationals, there is a natural definition of the exponential of such a cocycle. With this $\exp \hbar F$ define…
We construct a canonical deformation quantization for symplectic supermanifolds. This gives a novel proof of the super-analogue of Fedosov quantization. Our proof uses the formalism of Gelfand-Kazhdan descent, whose foundations we establish in the super-symplectic setting.
We extend Fedosov deformation quantization to general contact manifolds. Unlike the case of symplectic manifolds, not every classical observable on a contact manifold is generally quantized. On examination of possible obstructions to quantization, we obtain some new invariants of contact manifolds.
For an affine toric variety $\mathrm{Spec}(A)$, we give a convex geometric description of the Hodge decomposition of its Hochschild cohomology. Under certain assumptions we compute the dimensions of the Hodge summands $T^1_{(i)}(A)$, generalizing the existing results about the Andre-Quillen cohomology group $T^1_{(1)}(A)$. We prove that every Poisson structure on a possibly singular affine toric variety can be quantized in the sense of deformation quantization.
