We study deformation quantization on an infinite-dimensional Hilbert space $W$ endowed with its canonical Poisson structure. The standard example of the Moyal star-product is made explicit and it is shown that it is well defined on a subalgebra of $C^\infty(W)$. A classification of inequivalent deformation quantizations of exponential type, containing the Moyal and normal star-products, is also given.

In this paper, we use the theory of deformation quantization to understand Connes' and Moscovici's results \cite{cm:deformation}. We use Fedosov's method of deformation quantization of symplectic manifolds to reconstruct Zagier's deformation \cite{z:deformation} of modular forms, and relate this deformation to the Weyl-Moyal product. Let X be a smooth algebraic variety over a field K containing the real numbers. We introduce the notion of twisted associative (resp. Poisson) deformation of the structure sheaf of X. These are stack-like versions of usual deformations. We prove that there is a twisted quantization operation from twisted Poisson deformations to twisted associative deformations, which is canonical and bijective on gauge equivalence classes. This result extends work of Kontsevich, and our own earlier work, on deformation quantization of algebraic varieties.

We introduce a new kind of groupoid--a pseudo étale groupoid, which provides many interesting examples of noncommutative Poisson algebras as defined by Block, Getzler, and Xu. Following the idea that symplectic and Poisson geometries are the semiclassical limits of the corresponding quantum geometries, we quantize these noncommutative Poisson manifolds in the framework of deformation quantization.
In these lecture notes I give an introduction to deformation quantization. The quantization problem is discussed in some detail thereby motivating the notion of star products. Starting from a deformed observable algebra, i.e. the star product algebra, physical applications require to study representations of this algebra. I review the recent development of a representation theory including techniques like Rieffel induction and Morita equivalence. Applications beyond quantization theory are found in noncommutative field theories.

In this paper we consider the problem of deformation quantization of the algebra of polynomial functions on coadjoint orbits of semisimple lie groups. The deformation of an orbit is realized by taking the quotient of the universal enveloping algebra of the Lie algebra of the given Lie group, by a suitable ideal. We show that for every vector bundle E over any given symplectic manifold M there exists an explicitly given super-Poisson bracket on the space of sections of the dual Grassmann bundle associated to E built out of symplectic structure of M, a fibre metric on E, and a connection in E compatible with the given fibre metric. Moreover, we construct a deformation quantization for this space of sections by means of a Fedosov type procedure.
