In this article, we study the geometry of compact quasi-Einstein manifolds with boundary. We establish sharp boundary estimates for compact quasi-Einstein manifolds with boundary that improve some previous results. Moreover, we obtain a characterization theorem for such manifolds in terms of the surface gravity of the boundary components, which leads to a new sharp geometric inequality. In addition, we prove a boundary estimate for compact quasi-Einstein manifolds with (possibly disconnected) boundary in terms of the Brown-York mass.
As a generalization of Einstein manifolds, the nearly quasi-Einstein manifolds and pseudo quasi-Einstein manifolds are both interesting and useful in studying the general relativity. In this paper, we study the extended quasi-Einstein manifolds which derive from pseudo quasi-Einstein manifolds. After showing the existence theorem of extended quasi-Einstein manifold, we give some special geometric properties of such manifolds. At the same time, we also discuss the extended quasi-Einstein manifolds with certain soliton like generalised Ricci soliton or Riemann soliton. Furthermore, we construct …
Inspired by the study of $V$-static manifold about classification, in this article, we apply the recent results obtained by Freitas and Gomes (Compact gradient Einstein-type manifolds with boundary, 2022) to prove the rigidity results for compact gradient Einstein-type manifolds with nonempty boundary and constant scalar curvature under some suitable pinching conditions. As a special case of gradient Einstein-type manifold, we also give a rigidity result of $(m,ρ)$-quasi-Einstein manifold with boundary.
In this paper, we define the spectral Einstein functional associated with the Dirac operator for manifolds with boundary. And we give the proof of Kastler-Kalau-Walze type theorem for the spectral Einstein functional associated with the Dirac operator on 4-dimensional manifolds with boundary.
An Einstein manifold is called scalar curvature rigid if there are no compactly supported volume-preserving deformation of the metric which increase the scalar curvature. We give various characterizations of scalar curvature rigidity for open Einstein manifolds as well as for closed Einstein manifolds. As an application, we construct mass-decreasing perturbations of the Riemannian Schwarzschild metric and the Taub-Bolt metric.
We find the necessary conditions for a sequential warped product manifold to be a quasi-Einstein manifold. We also investigate the necessary and sufficient conditions for a sequential standard static space-time and a sequential generalized Robertson-Walker space-time to be a manifold of quasi-constant curvature.
In this paper, we investigate the geometry of Einstein-type equation on a Riemannian manifold, unifying various particular geometric structures recently studied in the literature, such as critical point equation and vacuum static equation. We show various rigidity results of Einstein-type manifolds under assumptions of several curvature conditions.
The main objective of this paper is to investigate the $m$-quasi Einstein manifold when the potential function becomes convex. In this article, it is proved that an $m$-quasi Einstein manifold satisfying some integral conditions with vanishing Ricci curvature along the direction of potential vector field has constant scalar curvature and hence the manifold turns out to be an Einstein manifold. It is also shown that in an $m$-quasi Einstein manifold the potential function agrees with Hodge-de Rham potential up to a constant. Finally, it is proved that if a complete non-compact and non-expanding…
We present a non existence result of complete, Einstein hypersurfaces tangent to the Reeb vector field of a regular Sasakian manifold which fibers onto a complex Stein manifold.
We study 4-dimensional second-Chern-Einstein almost-Hermitian manifolds. In the compact case, we observe that under a certain hypothesis the Riemannian dual of the Lee form is a Killing vector field. We use that observation to describe 4-dimensional compact second-Chern-Einstein locally conformally symplectic manifolds and we give some examples of such manifolds. Finally, we study the second-Chern-Einstein problem on unimodular almost-abelian Lie algebras, classifying those that admit a left-invariant second-Chern-Einstein metric with a parallel non-zero Lee form.
In this paper, we classify the compact locally homogeneous non-gradient $m$-quasi Einstein 3-manifolds. Along the way, we prove that given a compact quotient of a Lie group of any dimension that is $m$-quasi Einstein, the potential vector field $X$ must be left invariant and Killing. We also classify the nontrivial $m$-quasi Einstein metrics that are a compact quotient of be the product of two Einstein metrics. We also show that $S^1$ is the only compact manifold of any dimension which admits a metric which is nontrivially $m$-quasi Einstein and Einstein.
For a Poincare-Einstein manifold under certain restrictions, X. Chen, M. Lai and F. Wang proved a sharp inequality relating Yamabe invariants. We show that the inequality is true without any restriction.
In this paper, we study the doubly warped product manifolds with semisymmetric metric connection. We derive the curvatures formulas for doubly warped product manifold with semi-symmetric metric connection in terms of curvatures of components of doubly warped product manifolds. We also prove the necessary and sufficient condition for a doubly warped product manifold to be a warped product manifold. We obtain some results for Einstein doubly warped product manifold and Einstein-like doubly warped product manifold of class A with respect to a semi-symmetric metric connection.
In this study, we investigate generalized quasi-Einstein structure for normal metric contact pair manifolds. Firstly, we deal with elementary properties and examine, existence, and characterizations of generalized quasi-Einstein normal metric contact pair manifold. Secondly, the generalized quasi-constant curvature of normal metric contact pair manifolds are studied and it is proven that a normal metric contact pair manifold with generalized quasi-constant curvature is a generalized quasi-Einstein manifold. Normal metric contact pair manifolds satisfying cyclic Ricci tensor and the Codazzi typ…
We prove that a closed oriented Einstein four-manifold is either anti-self-dual or (after passing to a double Riemann cover if necessary) Kähler-Einstein, provided that $λ_2 \geq -\frac{S}{12}$, where $λ_2$ is the middle eigenvalue of the self-dual Weyl tensor $W^+$ and $S$ is the scalar curvature. The same conclusion holds for closed oriented four-manifolds with $δW^+=0$.
