In 1979, Miller proved that for a group $G$ of odd order, two minimal group codes in $\mathbb{F}_2G$ are $G$-equivalent if and only they have identical weight distribution. In 2014, Ferraz-Guerreiro-Polcino Milies disprove Miller's result by giving an example of two non-$G$-equivalent minimal codes with identical weight distribution. In this paper, we give a characterization of finite abelian groups so that over a specific set of group codes, equality of important parameters of two codes implies the $G$-equivalence of these two codes. As a corollary, we prove that two minimal codes with the same weight distribution are $G$-equivalent if and only if for each prime divisor $p$ of $|G|$, the Sylow $p$-subgroup of $G$ is homocyclic.
We determine a condition on the minimum Hamming weight of some special abelian group codes and, as a consequence of this result, we establish that any such code is, up to permutational equivalence, a subspace of the direct sum of $s$ copies of the repetition code of length $t$, for some suitable positive integers $s$ and $t$. Moreover, we provide a complete characterisation of permutation automorphisms of the linear code $C=\bigoplus_{i=1}^{s}Rep_{t}(\mathbb{F}_{q})$ and we establish that such a code is an abelian group code, for every pair of integers $s,t\geq1$. Finally, in a similar fashion…
Let $G$ be a finite abelian group. Ferraz, Guerreiro and Polcino Milies prove that the number of $G$-equivalence classes of minimal abelian codes is equal to the number of $G$-isomorphism classes of subgroups for which corresponding quotients are cyclic. In this article, we prove that the notion of $G$-isomorphism is equivalent to the notion of isomorphism on the set of all subgroups $H$ of $G$ with the property that $G/H$ is cyclic. As an application, we calculate the number of non-$G$-equivalent minimal abelian codes for some specific family of abelian groups. We also prove that the number o…
Let $X$ be a compact torsion abelian group. In this paper, we show that an extension of $F_{p}$ by $X$ splits where $F_{p}$ is the p-adic number group and $p$ a prime number. Also, we show that an extension of a torsion-free, non-divisible LCA group by $X$ is not split.
In this article we present an extensive survey on the developments in the theory of non-abelian finite groups with abelian automorphism groups, and pose some problems and further research directions.
Every torsion--free abelian group of finite rank has two essentially unique complete direct decompositions whose summands come from specific classes of groups.
This is an expository work presenting in detail the proof of the structure theorem for divisible abelian groups. A divisible abelian group is an abelian group that satisfies nD=D for all natural n. The theorem states that any divisible group is a direct sum of copies of the additive rationals and quasicyclic groups.
Let $G$ be a polycyclic, metabelian or soluble of type (FP)$_{\infty}$ group such that the class $Rat(G)$ of all rational subsets of $G$ is a boolean algebra. Then $G$ is virtually abelian. Every soluble biautomatic group is virtually abelian.
In the current paper we study the groups, whose subnormal abelian subgroups are normal. We obtained a quite detailed description of such hyperabelian groups with a periodic Baer radical. The description of hyperabelian Lie algebras, whose abelian subideals are ideals, is also obtained.
We extend the notion of a partial cohomology group $H^n(G,A)$ to the case of non-unital $A$ and find interpretations of $H^1(G,A)$ and $H^2(G,A)$ in the theory of extensions of semilattices of abelian groups by groups.
For every $p$-group of order $p^n$ with the derived subgroup of order $p^m$, Rocco in \cite{roc} has shown that the order of tensor square of $G$ is at most $p^{n(n-m)}$. In the present paper not only we improve his bound for non-abelian $p$-groups but also we describe the structure of all non-abelian $p$-groups when the bound is attained for a special case. Moreover, our results give as well an upper bound for the order of $π_3(SK(G, 1))$.
It has been shown that the proper, non-locally finite pseudovarieties of abelian groups are not tame with respect to the canonical signature. In this paper, we show that every decidable, proper, non-locally finite pseudovariety of abelian groups is completely tame with respect to a further enlarged implicit signature. This theorem yields as a corollary that a pseudovariety of abelian groups is decidable if and only if it is completely tame.
We classify abelian subgroups of the automorphism group of any compact simple Lie algebra whose centralizer has the same dimension as the dimension of the subgroup. This leads to a classification of the maximal abelian subgroups of compact simple groups of adjoint type and a classification of the fine group gradings of complex simple Lie algebras.
We give a reduction of Donovan's conjecture for abelian groups to a similar statement for quasisimple groups. Consequently we show that Donovan's conjecture holds for abelian $2$-groups.

The Chermak-Delgado lattice of a finite group $G$ is a self-dual sublattice of the subgroup lattice of $G$. In this paper, we focus on finite groups whose Chermak-Delgado lattice is a subgroup lattice of an elementary abelian $p$-group. We prove that such groups are nilpotent of class $2$. We also prove that, for any elementary abelian $p$-group $E$, there exists a finite group $G$ such that the Chermak-Delgado lattice of $G$ is a subgroup lattice of $E$.
In this article we gave the notion of particular type of functions on a group termed as class assigned functions . Using class assigned functions, we have constructed several right gyrogroup structures on a given non-abelian group.
In this note we show that if $G$ is a countably infinite abelian group such that $nG=0$ for some integer $n$, then the only locally minimal group topology on $G$ is the discrete one.
For a locally quasi-convex (lqc) abelian group $G$, we give the first description of all compatible group topologies on $G$ and apply this result to the Mackey group problem for lqc groups. We characterize lqc abelian groups which are Mackey groups or admit a Mackey group topology and provide a characterization of two Mackey groups whose product is Mackey. We obtain the first characterization of locally convex spaces which are Mackey groups.
