In this paper, we introduce cell-forms on $\mathcal{M}_{0,n}$, which are top-dimensional differential forms diverging along the boundary of exactly one cell (connected component) of the real moduli space $\mathcal{M}_{0,n}(\mathbb{R})$. We show that the cell-forms generate the top-dimensional cohomology group of $\mathcal{M}_{0,n}$, so that there is a natural duality between cells and cell-forms. In the heart of the paper, we determine an explicit basis for the subspace of differential forms which converge along a given cell $X$. The elements of this basis are called insertion forms, their integrals over $X$ are real numbers, called cell-zeta values, which generate a $\mathbb{Q}$-algebra called the cell-zeta algebra. By a result of F. Brown, the cell-zeta algebra is equal to the algebra of multizeta values. The cell-zeta values satisfy a family of simple quadratic relations coming from the geometry of moduli spaces, which leads to a natural definition of a formal version of the cell-zeta algebra, conjecturally isomorphic to the formal multizeta algebra defined by the much-studied double shuffle relations.
Multiples zeta values (MZV's for short) in positive characteristic were introduced by Thakur as analogues of classical multiple zeta values of Euler. In this paper we give a systematic study of algebraic structures of MZV's in positive characteristic. We construct both the stuffle algebra and the shuffle algebra of these MZV's and equip them with algebra and Hopf algebra structures. In particular, we completely solve a problem suggested by Deligne and Thakur \cite{Del17} in 2017 and establish Shi's conjectures \cite{Shi18}. The construction of the stuffle algebra is based on our recent work \c…
We study trivial multiple zeta values in Tate algebras. These are particular examples of the multiple zeta values in Tate algebras in positive characteristic introduced by the second author. If the number of variables involved is 'not large' in a way that is made precise in the paper, we can endow the set of trivial multiple zeta values with a structure of module over a non-commutative polynomial ring with coefficients in the rational fraction field over a finite field. We determine the structure of this module in terms of generators and we show how in many cases, this is sufficient for the de…
Based on the notion of Stark units we present a new approach that obtains refinements of log-algebraic identities for Anderson t-modules. As a consequence, we establish a generalization of Chang's theorem on logarithmic interpretations for special characteristic p multiple zeta values (MZV's) and recover many earlier results in this direction. Further, we devise a direct and conceptual way to get logarithmic interpretations for both MZV's and v-adic MZV's. This generalizes completely the work of Anderson and Thakur for Carlitz zeta values.
The Dedekind zeta function of a quadratic number field factors as a product of the Riemann zeta function and the $L$-function of a quadratic Dirichlet character. We categorify this formula using objective linear algebra in the abstract incidence algebra of the division poset.
The conical zeta values are a generalization of the multiple zeta values which are defined by certain multiple sums over convex cones. In this paper, we present a relation between the values of the Dedekind zeta functions for totally real fields and the conical zeta values for certain algebraic cones. More precisely, we show that the values of the partial zeta functions for totally real fields can be expressed as a rational linear combination of the conical zeta values associated with certain algebraic cones up to the square root of the discriminant.
This paper is a culmination of [CM20] on the study of multiple zeta values (MZV's) over function fields in positive characteristic. For any finite place $v$ of the rational function field $k$ over a finite field, we prove that the $v$-adic MZV's satisfy the same $\bar{k}$-algebraic relations that their corresponding $\infty$-adic MZV's satisfy. Equivalently, we show that the $v$-adic MZV's form an algebra with multiplication law given by the $q$-shuffle product which comes from the $\infty$-adic MZV's, and there is a well-defined $\bar{k}$-algebra homomorphism from the $\infty$-adic MZV's to t…
An explicit theory of $π_{1}^{\un,\crys}(\mathbb{P}^{1} - \{0,μ_{N},\infty\})$ - II-2 : From standard algebraic relations of weighted multiple harmonic sums to those of cyclotomic $p$-adic multiple zeta values
Pellarin introduced the deformation of multiple zeta values of Thakur as elements over Tate algebras. In this paper, we relate these values to a certain coordinate of a higher dimensional Drinfeld module over Tate algebras which we will introduce. Moreover, we define multiple polylogarithms in our setting and represent deformation of multiple zeta values as a linear combination of multiple polylogarithms.
The algebra of big zeta values we introduce in this paper is an intermediate object between multiple zeta values and periods of the multiple zeta motive. It consists of number series generalizing multiple zeta values, the simplest examples, which are not multiple zeta series, are Tornheim sums. We show that convergent big zeta values are periods of the moduli space of stable curves of genus zero on one hand and multiple zeta values on the other hand. It gives an alternative way to prove that any such period may be expressed as a rational linear combination of multiple zeta values and a simple …
In this survey article, we discuss the algebraic structure of q-analogues of multiple zeta values, which are closely related to derivatives of Eisenstein series. Moreover, we introduce the formal double Eisenstein space, which generalizes the formal double zeta space of Gangl, Kaneko, and Zagier. Using the algebraic structure of q-analogues of multiple zeta values, we will present a realization of this space. As an application, we will obtain purely combinatorial proofs of identities among (quasi-)modular forms.
We build, using the notion of zinbiel algebra, some commutative subalgebras $C_{u,v}$ inside an algebra of formal iterated integrals. There is a quotient map from this algebra of formal iterated integrals to the algebra of motivic multiple zeta values. Restricting this quotient map to the subalgebras $C_{u,v}$ of A$_{1,0}$ gives a morphism of graded commutative algebras with the same graded dimension. This is conjectured to be generically an isomorphism. When u+v = 0, the image is instead a sub-algebra of the algebra of motivic multiple zeta values.
The Kaneko-Zagier conjecture states that finite and symmetric multiple zeta values satisfy the same relations. In the previous work with H.~Bachmann and Y.~Takeyama, we proved that the finite and symmetric multiple zeta value are obtained as an `algebraic' and `analytic' limit at $q\rightarrow 1$ of a certain truncated multiple harmonic $q$-series, and studied its relations in order to give partial evidence of the Kaneko-Zagier conjecture. In this paper, we start with truncated multiple harmonic $q$-series of level $N$, which is a $q$-analogue of the truncated colored multiple zeta value. We i…
