Polylogarithms and multiple zeta values from free Rota-Baxter algebras

We show that the shuffle algebras for polylogarithms and regularized MZVs in the sense of Ihara, Kaneko and Zagier are both free commutative nonunitary Rota-Baxter algebras with one generator. We apply these results to show that the full sets of shuffle relations of polylogarithms and regularized MZVs are derived by a single series. We also take this approach to study the extended double shuffle relations of MZVs by comparing these shuffle relations with the quasi-shuffle relations of the regularized MZVs in our previous approach of MZVs by renormalization.

Rota--Baxter algebras and left weak composition quasi-symmetric functions

Motivated by a question of Rota, this paper studies the relationship between Rota--Baxter algebras and symmetric related functions. The starting point is the fact that the space of quasi-symmetric functions is spanned by monomial quasi-symmetric functions which are indexed by compositions. When composition is replaced by left weak composition (LWC), we obtain the concept of LWC monomial quasi-symmetric functions and the resulting space of LWC quasi-symmetric functions. Generating functions from the viewpoint of Rota-Baxter algebras

We study generating functions in the context of Rota-Baxter algebras. We show that exponential generating functions can be naturally viewed in a very special case of complete free commutative Rota-Baxter algebras. This allows us to use free Rota-Baxter algebras to give a broad class of algebraic structures in which generalizations of generating functions can be studied. Rota-Baxter operators and Bernoulli polynomials

We develop the connection between Rota-Baxter operators arisen from algebra and mathematical physics and Bernoulli polynomials. We state that a trivial property of Rota-Baxter operators implies the symmetry of the power sum polynomials and Bernoulli polynomials. We show how Rota-Baxter operators equalities rewritten in terms of Bernoulli polynomials generate identities for the last.

Uniform Approach to Double Shuffle and Duality Relations of Various q-Analogs of Multiple Zeta Values via Rota-Baxter Algebras

The multiple zeta values (MZVs) have been studied extensively in recent years. Currently there exist a few different types of $q$-analogs of the MZVs ($q$-MZVs) defined and studied by mathematicians and physicists. In this paper, we give a uniform treatment of these $q$-MZVs by considering their double shuffle relations (DBSFs) and duality relations. The main idea is a modification and generalization of the one used by Castillo Medina et al. who have considered the DBSFs of a special type of $q$-MZVs.
