We prove an $L^2$ extension theorem of Ohsawa-Takegoshi type for extending holomorphic sections of line bundles from a subvariety which is given as a maximal log-canonical center of a pair and is of general codimension in a projective variety. Our method of proof indicates that such a setting is the most natural one in a sense, for general $L^2$ extension of line bundle sections.
We study the Fujita-type conjecture proposed by Popa and Schnell. We obtain an effective bound on the global generation of direct images of pluri-adjoint line bundles on the regular locus. We also obtain an effective bound on the generic global generation for a Kawamata log canonical $\mathbb{Q}$-pair. We use analytic methods such as $L^2$ estimates, $L^2$ extensions and injective theorems of cohomology groups.
In this paper, we give a numerical criterion of Reider-type for the $d$-very ampleness of the adjoint line bundles on quasi-elliptic surfaces, and meanwhile we give a new proof of the vanishing theorem on quasi-elliptic surfaces emailed from Langer and show that it is the optimal version.
Let $X$ be a smooth projective variety over an algebraically closed field $\mathbb{K}$ with arbitrary characteristic. Suppose $L$ is an ample and globally generated line bundle. By Castelnuovo--Mumford regularity, we show that $K_X \otimes L^{\otimes \dim X} \otimes A$ is globally generated and $K_X \otimes L^{\otimes (\dim X+1)} \otimes A$ is very ample, provided the line bundle $A$ is nef but not numerically trivial. On complex projective varieties, by investigating Kawamata-Viehweg-Nadel type vanishing theorems for vector bundles, we also obtain the global generation for adjoint vector bund…
We give a new proof of Kollár's conjecture on the pushforward of the dualizing sheaf twisted by a variation of Hodge structure. This conjecture was settled by M. Saito via mixed Hodge modules and has applications in the investigation of Albanese maps. Our technique is the $L^2$-method and we give a concrete construction and proofs of the conjecture. The $L^2$ point of view allows us to generalize Kollár's conjecture to the context of non-abelian Hodge theory.
In this paper we study general hyperplane sections of adjoint and coadjoint varieties. We show that these are the only sections of homogeneous varieties such that a maximal torus of the automorphism group of the ambient variety stabilizes them. We then study their geometry, provide formulas for their classical cohomology rings in terms of Schubert classes and compute the quantum Chevalley formula. This allows us to obtain results about the semi-simplicity of the (small) quantum cohomology, analogous to those holding for (co)adjoint varieties.
Let X be a smooth projective threefold, and let A be an ample line bundle such that $K_X+A$ is nef. We show that if $K_X$ or $-K_X$ is pseudoeffective, the adjoint bundle $K_X+A$ has global sections. We also give a very short proof of the Beltrametti-Sommese conjecture in dimension three, recently proven by Fukuma: if A is an ample line bundle such that $K_X+2A$ is nef, the adjoint bundle $K_X+2A$ has global sections.
In this note we give a complete description of all the hyperplane section of the projective bundle associated to the tangent bundle of $\mathbb{P}^2$ under its natural embedding in $\mathbb{P}^7.$ As an application one obtains a description of all possible deformations, in $\text{SL_3(\mathbb{C}}/B,$ of the co-dimension one sub-scheme which is the union of two fundamental Schubert divisors.
We consider the locus of sections of a vector bundle on a projective scheme that vanish in higher dimension than expected. We show that after applying a high enough twist, any maximal component of this locus consists entirely of sections vanishing along a subscheme of minimal degree. In fact, we will give a more refined description of this locus, which will allow us to deduce its limit in the Grothendieck ring of varieties.
Let $S \subset \mathbb{P}^g$ be a smooth $K3$ surface of degree $2g-2$, $g \geq 3$. We classify all the cases for which $h^0(\mathcal{N}_{S/\mathbb{P}^g}(-2)) \neq 0$ and the cases for which $h^0(\mathcal{N}_{S/\mathbb{P}^g}(-2)) < h^0(\mathcal{N}_{C/\mathbb{P}^{g-1}}(-2))$ for $C \subset \mathbb{P}^{g-1}$ a general canonical curve section of $S$.
