Our interest is a regularity of a minimal singular metric of a line bundle. One main conclusion of our general result in this paper is the existence of continuous Hermitian metrics with semi-positive curvatures on the so-called Zariski's example of a line bundle defined over the blow-up of $\mathbb{P}^2$ at some twelve points. This is an example of a line bundle which is nef, big, not semi-ample, and whose section ring is not finitely generated. We generalize this result to the higher dimensional case when the stable base locus of a line bundle is a smooth hypersurface with a holomorphic tubular neighborhood.
This supersedes 0704.0566. We prove the invariance of logarithmic plurigenera for a projective family of KLT pairs and the adjoint line bundle of KLT line bundles. The proof uses the canonical singular hermitian metrics on relative logcanonical bundles.
We apply Ueda theory to a study of singular Hermitian metrics of a (strictly) nef line bundle $L$. Especially we study minimal singular metrics of $L$, metrics of $L$ with the mildest singularities among singular Hermitian metrics of $L$ whose local weights are plurisubharmonic. In some situations, we determine a minimal singular metric of $L$. As an application, we give new examples of (strictly) nef line bundles which admit no smooth Hermitian metric with semi-positive curvature.
We study singular Hermitian metrics on vector bundles. There are two main results in this paper. The first one is on the coherence of the higher rank analogue of multiplier ideals for singular Hermitian metrics defined by global sections. As an application, we show the coherence of the multiplier ideal of some positively curved singular Hermitian metrics whose standard approximations are not Nakano semipositive. The aim of the second main result is to determine all negatively curved singular Hermitian metrics on certain type of vector bundles, for example, certain rank 2 bundles on elliptic cu…
We investigate singular Hermitian metrics on vector bundles, especially strictly Griffiths positive ones. $L^2$ esitimates and vanishing theorems usually require an assumption that vector bundles are Nakano positive. However there is no general definition of the Nakano positivity in singular settings. In this paper, we show various $L^2$ estimates and vanishing theromes by assuming that the vector bundle is strictly Griffiths positive and the base manifold is projective.
In this paper, we give complex geometric descriptions of the notions of algebraic geometric positivity of vector bundles and torsion-free coherent sheaves, such as nef, big, pseudo-effective and weakly positive, by using singular Hermitian metrics. As an applications, we obtain a generalization of Mori's result. We also give a characterization of the augmented base locus by using singular Hermitian metrics on vector bundles and the Lelong numbers.
We give a concrete expression of a minimal singular metric of a big line bundle on a compact Kähler manifold which is the total space of a toric bundle over a complex torus. In this class of manifolds, Nakayama constructed examples which have line bundles admitting no Zariski-decomposition even after any proper modifications. As an application, we discuss the Zariski-closedness of non-nef loci and the openness conjecture of Demailly and Kollár in this class.
We investigate the minimal singularities of metrics on a big line bundle $L$ over a projective manifold when the stable base locus $Y$ of $L$ is a submanifold of codimension $r\geq 1$. Under some assumptions on the normal bundle and a neighborhood of $Y$, we give a explicit description of the minimal singularity of metrics on $L$. We apply this result to study a higher (co-)dimensional analogue of Zariski's example, in which the line bundle $L$ is not semi-ample, however it is nef and big.
In this note, we obtain various formulas for the curvature of the $L^2$ metric on the direct image of the relative canonical bundle twisted by a holomorphic line bundle endowed with a positively curved metric with analytic singularities, generalizing some of Berndtsson's seminal results in the smooth case. When the twist is assumed to be relatively big, we further provide a very explicit lower bound for the curvature of the $L^2$ metric.
We introduce a new class of canonical AZD's (called the supercanonical AZD's) on the canonical bundles of smooth projective varieties with pseudoeffective canonical classes. We study the variation of the supercanonical AZD $\hat{h}_{can}$ under projective deformations and give a new proof of the invariance of plurigenera.
Coman, Guedj and Zeriahi proved that, for an ample line bundle $L$ on a projective manifold $X$, any singular positive metric on the line bundle $L|_{V}$ along a subvariety $V \subset X$ can be extended to a global singular positive metric on $L$. In this paper, we prove that the extendability of singular positive metrics on a line bundle along a subvariety implies the ampleness of the line bundle.
The purpose of this paper is to give two supplements for vanishing theorems: One is a relative version of the Kawamata-Viehweg-Nadel type vanishing theorem, which is obtained from an observation for the variation of the numerical dimension of singular hermitian line bundles. The other is an analytic injectivity theorem for log canonical pairs on surfaces, which can be seen as a partial answer for Fujino's conjecture.
We study a singular Hermitian metric of a vector bundle. First, we prove the sheaf of locally square integrable holomorphic sections of a vector bundle with a singular Hermitian metric, which is a higher rank analogy of a multiplier ideal sheaf, is coherent under some assumptions. Second, we prove a Nadel-Nakano type vanishing theorem of a vector bundle with a singular Hermitian metric. We do not use an approximation technique of a singular Hermitian metric. We apply these theorems to a singular Hermitian metric induced by holomorphic sections and a big vector bundle, and we obtain a generaliz…
We define Chern and Segre forms, or rather currents, associated with a Griffiths positive singular hermitian metric $h$ with analytic singularities on a holomorphic vector bundle $E$. The currents are constructed as pushforwards of generalized Monge-Ampère products on the projectivization of $E$. The Chern and Segre currents represent the Chern and Segre classes of $E$, respectively, and coincide with the Chern and Segre forms of $E$ and $h$, where $h$ is smooth. Moreover, our currents coincide with the Chern and Segre forms constructed by the first three authors and Ruppenthal in the cases wh…
We establish the equidistribution of zeros of random holomorphic sections of powers of a semipositive singular Hermitian line bundle, with an estimate of the convergence speed.
Let $E$ be a holomorphic vector bundle endowed with a singular Hermitian metric $H$. In this paper, we develop the harmonic theory on $(E,H)$. Then we extend several canonical results of J. Kollár and K. Takegoshi to this situation. In the end, we generalise Nakano's vanishing theorem.
We establish an equidistribution theorem for the common zeros of random sections of high powers of several singular Hermitian big line bundles associated to moderate measures.
We prove a sharp Ohsawa-Takegoshi-Manivel type extension result for twisted holomorphic sections of singular hermitian line bundles over almost Stein manifolds. We establish as corollaries some extension results for pluri-twisted holomorphic sections of singular hermitian line bundles over projective manifolds.
In this article, we propose a definition of Nakano semi-positivity of singular Hermitian metrics on holomorphic vector bundles. By using this positivity notion, we establish $L^2$-estimates for holomorphic vector bundles with Nakano positive singular Hermitian metrics. We also show vanishing theorems, which generalize both Nakano type and Demailly-Nadel type vanishing theorems. As applications, we specifically construct globally Nakano semi-positive singular Hermitian metrics for several bundles, and prove vanishing theorems associated with them.
We obtain the Bogomolov-Sommese type vanishing theorem involving multiplier ideal sheaves for big line bundles. We define a dual Nakano semi-positivity of singular Hermitian metrics with L2-estimates and prove the vanishing theorem which is a generalization of the Bogomolov-Sommese type vanishing theorem to holomorphic vector bundles.
We consider degenerations of complex projective Calabi--Yau varieties and study the singularities of $L^2$, Quillen and BCOV metrics on Hodge and determinant bundles. The dominant and subdominant terms in the expansions of the metrics close to non-smooth fibers are shown to be related to well-known topological invariants of singularities, such as limit Hodge structures, vanishing cycles and log-canonical thresholds. We also describe corresponding invariants for more general degenerating families in the case of the Quillen metric.
We show a Chern-Weil type statement and a Hilbert-Samuel formula for a large class of singular plurisubharmonic metrics on a line bundle over a smooth projective complex variety. For this we use the theory of b-divisors and the so-called multiplier ideal volume function. We apply our results to the line bundle of Siegel-Jacobi forms over the universal abelian variety endowed with its canonical invariant metric. This generalizes a result of the second author for the universal family of elliptic curves to higher degrees.
The purpose of this paper is to establish a Nadel vanishing theorem for big line bundles with multiplier ideal sheaves of singular metrics admitting an analytic Zariski decomposition (such as, metrics with minimal singularities and Siu's metrics). For this purpose, we apply the theory of harmonic integrals and generalize Enoki's proof of Koll'ar's injectivity theorem. Moreover we investigate the asymptotic behavior of harmonic forms with respect to a family of regularized metrics.
In the present paper, we study the properties of singular Nakano positivity of singular hermitian metrics on holomorphic vector bundles, and establish an optimal $L^2$ extension theorem for holomorphic vector bundles with singular hermitian metrics on weakly pseudoconvex Kähler manifolds. As applications, we give a necessary condition for the holding of the equality in optimal $L^2$ extension theorem, and present singular hermitian holomorphic vector bundle versions of some $L^2$ extension theorems with optimal estimate.
We study singular hermitian metrics on holomorphic vector bundles, following Berndtsson-P{ă}un. Previous work by Raufi has shown that for such metrics, it is in general not possible to define the curvature as a current with measure coefficients. In this paper we show that despite this, under appropriate codimension restrictions on the singular set of the metric, it is still possible to define Chern forms as closed currents of order 0 with locally finite mass, which represent the Chern classes of the vector bundle.
In this paper, we will provide an alternative definition for the singular Hermitian metric on a vector bundle. Moreover, we discuss the Griffiths and Nakano positivities under this circumstance and prove a generalised Griffiths' vanishing theorem.
In this paper, we develop the theory of singular hermitian metrics on vector bundles. As an application, we give a structure theorem of a projective manifold $X$ with pseudo-effective tangent bundle: $X$ admits a smooth fibration $X \to Y$ to a flat projective manifold $Y$ such that its general fiber is rationally connected. Moreover, by applying this structure theorem, we classify all the minimal surfaces with pseudo-effective tangent bundle and study general non-minimal surfaces, which provide examples of (possibly singular) positively curved tangent bundles.
We show that normalized currents of integration along the common zeros of random $m$-tuples of sections of powers of $m$ singular Hermitian big line bundles on a compact Kähler manifold distribute asymptotically to the wedge product of the curvature currents of the metrics. If the Hermitian metrics are Hölder with singularities we also estimate the speed of convergence.
In this note we show that if a compact Kahler manifold with trivial canonical bundle is the total space of a holomorphic fibration without singular fibers, then the fibration is a holomorphic fiber bundle. In the algebraic case, the fibration becomes trivial after a finite base change.
We introduce and study a notion of singular hermitian metrics on holomorphic vector bundles, following Berndtsson and P{ă}un. We define what it means for such a metric to be curved in the sense of Griffiths and investigate the assumptions needed in order to locally define the cuvature $Θ^h$ as a matrix of currents. We then proceed to show that such metrics can be regularised in such a way that the corresponding curvature tensors converge weakly to $Θ^h$. Finally we define what it means for $h$ to be strictly negatively curved in the sense of Nakano and show that it is possible to regularise su…
Let L be a holomorphic line bundle with a positively curved singular Hermitian metric over a complex manifold X. One can define naturally the sequence of Fubini-Study currents associated to the space of square integrable holomorphic sections of the p-th tensor powers of L. Assuming that the singular set of the metric is contained in a compact analytic subset of X and that the logarithm of the Bergman kernel function associated to the p-th tensor power of L (defined outside the singular set) grows like o(p) as p tends to infinity, we prove the following: 1) the k-th power of the Fubini-Study cu…
