We prove a sharp Ohsawa-Takegoshi-Manivel type extension result for twisted holomorphic sections of singular hermitian line bundles over almost Stein manifolds. We establish as corollaries some extension results for pluri-twisted holomorphic sections of singular hermitian line bundles over projective manifolds.
We obtain the Bogomolov-Sommese type vanishing theorem involving multiplier ideal sheaves for big line bundles. We define a dual Nakano semi-positivity of singular Hermitian metrics with L2-estimates and prove the vanishing theorem which is a generalization of the Bogomolov-Sommese type vanishing theorem to holomorphic vector bundles.
We prove some Liouville type results for generalized holomorphic maps in three classes: maps from pseudo-Hermitian manifolds to almost Hermitian manifolds, maps from almost Hermitian manifolds to pseudo-Hermitian manifolds and maps from pseudo-Hermitian manifolds to pseudo-Hermitian manifolds, assuming that the domains are compact. For instance, we show that any $(J,J^N)$ holomorphic map from a compact pseudo-Hermitian manifold $M$ with nonnegative (resp. positive) pseudo-Hermitian sectional curvature to an almost Hermitian manifold $N$ with negative (resp. nonpositive) holomorphic sectional c…
In this paper, we consider some generalized holomorphic maps between pseudo-Hermitian manifolds and Hermitian manifolds. By Bochner formulas and comparison theorems, we establish related Schwarz type results. As corollaries, Liouville theorem and little Picard theorem for basic CR functions are deduced. Finally, we study CR Carathéodory pseudodistance on CR manifolds.
We consider positivity conditions both for real-valued functions of several complex variables and for Hermitian forms. We prove a stabilization theorem relating these two notions, and give some applications to proper mappings between balls in different dimensions. The technique of proof relies on the simple expression for the Bergman kernel function for the unit ball and elementary facts about Hilbert spaces. Our main result generalizes to Hermitian forms a theorem proved by Polya [HLP] for homogeneous real polynomials, which was obtained in conjunction with Hilbert's seventeenth problem. See …
We prove that a compact Hermitian manifold with semi-positive but not identically zero holomorphic sectional curvature has Kodaira dimension $-\infty$. As applications, we show that Kodaira surfaces and hyperelliptic surfaces can not admit Hermitian metrics with semi-positive holomorphic sectional curvature although they have nef tangent bundles.
In the present paper, we study the properties of singular Nakano positivity of singular hermitian metrics on holomorphic vector bundles, and establish an optimal $L^2$ extension theorem for holomorphic vector bundles with singular hermitian metrics on weakly pseudoconvex Kähler manifolds. As applications, we give a necessary condition for the holding of the equality in optimal $L^2$ extension theorem, and present singular hermitian holomorphic vector bundle versions of some $L^2$ extension theorems with optimal estimate.
Let $X=U/K$ be a compact Hermitian symmetric space, and let $\sE$ be a $U$-homogeneous Hermitian vector bundle on $X$. In a previous paper, we showed that the space of nearly holomorphic sections is well-adapted for harmonic analysis in $L^2(X,\sE)$ provided that non-trivial nearly holomorphic sections do exist. Here we investigate the problem of extending local nearly holomorphic sections to global ones and prove the existence of non-trivial nearly holomorphic sections. This extends the results on the $U$-type decomposition of $L^2(X,\sE)$ from our previous paper.
We present some formulae related to the Chern-Ricci curvatures and scalar curvatures of special Hermitian metrics. We prove that a compact locally conformal Kähler manifold with constant nonpositive holomorphic sectional curvature is Kähler. We also give examples of complete non-Kähler metrics with pointwise negative constant but not globally constant holomorphic sectional curvature, and complete non-Kähler metric with zero holomorphic sectional curvature and nonvanishing curvature tensor.
We give a complete characterization of invariant integrable complex structures on principal bundles defined over hermitian symmetric spaces, using the Jordan algebraic approach for the curvature computations. In view of possible generalizations, the general setup of invariant holomorphic principal fibre bundles is described in a systematic way.
Let X be a Kähler manifold, and E be a Hermitian vector bundle on X. We investigate the space N(X,E) of nearly holomorphic sections in E, which generalizes the notion of nearly holomorphic functions introduced by Shimura. If X=U/K is a compact Hermitian symmetric space, and E is U-homogeneous, it turns out that N(X,E) coincides with the space of $U$-finite vectors in C^\infty(X,E), and we obtain new results on the U-type decomposition of the Hilbert space of square integrable sections. As an application, we determine this decomposition for the holomorphic tangent space of X.
We investigate the hypercohomologies of truncated twisted holomorphic de Rham complexes on (not necessarily compact) complex manifolds. In particular, we generalize Leray-Hirsch, Künneth and Poincaré-Serre duality theorems on them. At last, a blowup formula is given, which affirmatively answers a question posed by Chen, Y. and Yang, S. in \cite{CY}.
In this paper, we study the regular quantizations of Kähler manifolds by using the first two coefficients of Bergman function expansions. Firstly, we obtain sufficient and necessary conditions for certain Hermitian holomorphic vector bundles and their ball subbundles to be regular quantizations. Secondly, we obtain that some projective bundles over the Fano manifolds $M$ admit regular quantizations if and only if $M$ are biholomorphically isomorphism to the complex projective spaces. Finally, we obtain the balanced metrics on certain Hermitian holomorphic vector bundles and their ball subbundl…
We calculate curvature tensors of metrics on the total spaces of holomorphic fibrations. Our main tool is a theory of Chern connections and curvature forms for possibly degenerate Hermitian forms on holomorphic vector bundles. We prove a version of the Codazzi-Griffiths equations for curvatures of sub- and quotient bundles in that setting and apply them to the study of honest Hermitian metrics on fibrations. We apply this to calculate the curvature of a metric on Grassmannian bundles and prove they have positive holomorphic sectional curvature if the base does.
We establish the equidistribution of zeros of random holomorphic sections of powers of a semipositive singular Hermitian line bundle, with an estimate of the convergence speed.
Let $K\backslash G$ be an irreducible Hermitian symmetric space of noncompact type and $Γ\,\subset\, G$ a closed torsionfree discrete subgroup. Let $X$ be a compact Kähler manifold and $ρ\, :\, π_1(X, x_0)\,\longrightarrow\, Γ$ a homomorphism such that the adjoint action of $ρ(π_1(X, x_0))$ on $\text{Lie}(G)$ is completely reducible. A theorem of Corlette associates to $ρ$ a harmonic map $X\, \longrightarrow\, K\backslash G/Γ$. We give a criterion for this harmonic map to be holomorphic. We also give a criterion for it to be anti--holomorphic.
We consider homomorphisms of hermitian holomorphic Hilbert bundles. Assuming the homomorphism decreases curvature, we prove that its pointwise norm is plurisubharmonic.
In this paper, we consider some generalized holomorphic maps between pseudo-Hermitian manifolds. These maps include the \emph{CR} maps and the transversally holomorphic maps. In terms of some sub-Laplacian or Hessian type Bochner formulas, and comparison theorems in the pseudo-Hermitian version, we are able to establish several Schwarz type results for both the \emph{CR} maps and the transversally holomorphic maps between pseudo-Hermitian manifolds. Finally, we also discuss the \emph{CR} hyperbolicity problem for pseudo-Hermitian manifolds.
We investigate singular Hermitian metrics on vector bundles, especially strictly Griffiths positive ones. $L^2$ esitimates and vanishing theorems usually require an assumption that vector bundles are Nakano positive. However there is no general definition of the Nakano positivity in singular settings. In this paper, we show various $L^2$ estimates and vanishing theromes by assuming that the vector bundle is strictly Griffiths positive and the base manifold is projective.
This paper mainly concerns the von Neumann algebras induced by a tuple of multiplication operators on Bergman spaces which arise essentially from holomorphic proper maps over higher dimensional domains. We study the structures and abelian properties of the related von Neumann algebras, and in interesting cases they turns out to be tightly related to a Riemann manifold. There is a close interplay between operator theory, geometry and complex analysis. Many examples are presented.
We introduce and study a notion of singular hermitian metrics on holomorphic vector bundles, following Berndtsson and P{ă}un. We define what it means for such a metric to be curved in the sense of Griffiths and investigate the assumptions needed in order to locally define the cuvature $Θ^h$ as a matrix of currents. We then proceed to show that such metrics can be regularised in such a way that the corresponding curvature tensors converge weakly to $Θ^h$. Finally we define what it means for $h$ to be strictly negatively curved in the sense of Nakano and show that it is possible to regularise su…
The main result of this note essentially is that if the base and fibers of a compact fibration carry Hermitian metrics of positive holomorphic sectional curvature, then so does the total space of the fibration. The proof is based on the use of a warped product metric as in the work by Cheung in case of negative holomorphic sectional curvature, but differs in certain key aspects, e.g., in that it does not use the subadditivity property for holomorphic sectional curvature due to Grauert-Reckziegel and Wu.
Given several sequences of Hermitian holomorphic line bundles $\{(L_{kp}, h_{kp})\}_{p=1}^{\infty}$, we establish the distribution of common zeros of random holomorphic sections of $L_{kp}$ with respect to singular measures. We also study the dimension growth for a sequence of pseudo-effective line bundles.
We prove a general extension theorem for holomorphic line bundles on reduced complex spaces, equipped with singular hermitian metrics, whose curvature currents can be extended as positive, closed currents. The result has applications to various moduli theoretic situations.
Let $(X, ω)$ be a weakly pseudoconvex Kähler manifold, $Y \subset X$ a closed submanifold defined by some holomorphic section of a vector bundle over $X,$ and $L$ a Hermitian line bundle satisfying certain positivity conditions. We prove that for any integer $k\geq 0,$ any section of the jet sheaf $L\otimes {\cal O}_X/{\cal I}_Y^{k+1},$ which satisfies a certain $L^2$ condition, can be extended into a global holomorphic section of $L$ over $X$ whose $L^2$ growth on an arbitrary compact subset of $X$ is under control. In particular, if $Y$ is merely a point, this gives the existence of a global…
We introduce a model for Hermitian holormorphic Deligne cohomology on a projective algebraic manifold which allows to incorporate singular hermitian structures along a normal crossing divisor. In the case of a projective curve, the cup-product in cohomology is shown to correspond to a generalization of the Deligne pairing to line bundles with "good" hermitian metrics in the sense of Mumford and others. A particular case is that of the tangent bundle of the curve twisted by the negative of the singularity divisor of a hyperbolic metric: its cup square (corrected by the total area) is shown to b…
We prove the Kobayashi-Hitchin correspondence and the approximate Kobayashi-Hitchin correspondence for twisted holomorphic vector bundles on compact Kähler manifolds. More precisely, if $X$ is a compact manifold and $g$ is a Gauduchon metric on $X$, a twisted holomorphic vector bundle on $X$ is $g-$polystable if and only if it is $g-$Hermite-Einstein, and if $X$ is a compact Kähler manifold and $g$ is a Kähler metric on $X$, then a twisted holomorphic vector bundle on $X$ is $g-$semistable if and only if it is approximate $g-$Hermite-Einstein.
In this paper we study holomorphic vector bundles with singular Hermitian metrics whose curvature are Hermitian matrix currents. We obtain an extension theorem for holomorphic jet sections of nef holomorphic vector bundle on compact Kähler manifolds. Using it we prove that Fano manifolds with strong Griffiths nef tangent bundles are rational homogeneous spaces.
In this article, we propose a definition of Nakano semi-positivity of singular Hermitian metrics on holomorphic vector bundles. By using this positivity notion, we establish $L^2$-estimates for holomorphic vector bundles with Nakano positive singular Hermitian metrics. We also show vanishing theorems, which generalize both Nakano type and Demailly-Nadel type vanishing theorems. As applications, we specifically construct globally Nakano semi-positive singular Hermitian metrics for several bundles, and prove vanishing theorems associated with them.
Metrics of constant negative curvature on a compact Riemann surface are critical points of the Liouville action functional, which in recent constructions is rigorously defined as a class in a Cech-de Rham complex with respect to a suitable covering of the surface. We show that this class is the square of the metrized holomorphic tangent bundle in hermitian-holomorphic Deligne cohomology. We achieve this by introducing a different version of the hermitian-holomorphic Deligne complex which is nevertheless quasi-isomorphic to the one introduced by Brylinski in his construction of Quillen line bun…
We adapt the notions of stability of holomorphic vector bundles in the sense of Mumford-Takemoto and Hermitian-Einstein metrics in holomorphic vector bundles for canonically polarized framed manifolds, i.e. compact complex manifolds X together with a smooth divisor D such that K_X \otimes [D] is ample. It turns out that the degree of a torsion-free coherent sheaf on X with respect to the polarization K_X \otimes [D] coincides with the degree with respect to the complete Kähler-Einstein metric g_{X \setminus D} on X \setminus D. For stable holomorphic vector bundles, we prove the existence of a…
Let X be a hermitian manifold and let L^k be a high power of a hermitian line bundle over X. Local versions of Demailly's holomorphic Morse inequalities are presented - after integration they yield the usual inequalities. The local weak inequalities hold on any hermitian manifold X, regardless of compactness and completeness. The proofs, which are elementary, are based on a new approach to pointwise Bergman kernel estimates, where the kernels are estimated by a model kernel in the standard complex space C^n.
We introduce a class of $G$-invariant connections on a homogeneous principal bundle $Q$ over a hermitian symmetric space $M=G/K$. The parameter space carries the structure of normal variety and has a canonical anti-holomorphic involution. The fixed points of the anti-holomorphic involution are precisely the integrable invariant complex structures on $Q.$ This normal variety is closely related to quiver varieties and, more generally, to varieties of commuting matrix tuples modulo simultaneous conjugation.
We prove a very general Kobayashi-Hitchin correspondence on arbitrary compact Hermitian manifolds. This correspondence refers to moduli spaces of "universal holomorphic oriented pairs". Most of the classical moduli problems in complex geometry (e. g. holomorphic bundles with reductive structure groups, holomorphic pairs, holomorphic Higgs pairs, Witten triples, arbitrary quiver moduli problems) are special cases of this universal classification problem. Our Kobayashi-Hitchin correspondence relates the complex geometric concept "polystable oriented holomorphic pair" to the existence of a reduct…
We study the sheaf of locally square integrable holomorphic section of vector bundle with semi-positive curved singular Hermitian metric. We confirm the coherence when its induced determinant metric has analytic singularities.
Let $(X,ω)$ be a Hermitian manifold and let $(E,h^E)$, $(F,h^F)$ be two Hermitian holomorphic line bundle over $X$. Suppose that the maximal rank of the Chern curvature $c(E)$ of $E$ is $r$, and the kernel of $c(E)$ is foliated, i.e. there is a foliation $Y$ of $X$, of complex codimension $r$, such that the tangent space of the leaf at each point $x\in X$ is contained in the kernel of $c(E)$. In this paper, local versions of Demailly-Bouche's holomorphic Morse inequalities (which give asymptotic bounds for cohomology groups $H^{q}(X,E^k\otimes F^l)$ as $k,l,k/l\rightarrow \infty$) are presente…
We study a singular Hermitian metric of a vector bundle. First, we prove the sheaf of locally square integrable holomorphic sections of a vector bundle with a singular Hermitian metric, which is a higher rank analogy of a multiplier ideal sheaf, is coherent under some assumptions. Second, we prove a Nadel-Nakano type vanishing theorem of a vector bundle with a singular Hermitian metric. We do not use an approximation technique of a singular Hermitian metric. We apply these theorems to a singular Hermitian metric induced by holomorphic sections and a big vector bundle, and we obtain a generaliz…
We prove that the invariant part, with respect to a compact group action satisfying certain condition, of the direct image of a Nakano positive Hermitian holomorphic vector bundle over a bounded pseudoconvex domain is Nakano positive. We also consider the action of the noncompact group $\mathbb{R}^m$ and get the same result for a family of tube domains, which leads to a new method to the matrix-valued Prekopa's theorem originally proved by Raufi. The two main ingredients in our method are Hörmander's $L^2$ theory of $\bar\partial$ and the recent work of Deng-Ning-Zhang-Zhou on characterization…
Let $M$ and $N$ be two compact complex manifolds. We show that if the tautological line bundle $\mathscr{O}_{T_M^*}(1)$ is not pseudo-effective and $\mathscr{O}_{T_N^*}(1)$ is nef, then there is no non-constant holomorphic map from $M$ to $N$. In particular, we prove that any holomorphic map from a compact complex manifold $M$ with RC-positive tangent bundle to a compact complex manifold $N$ with nef cotangent bundle must be a constant map. As an application, we obtain that there is no non-constant holomorphic map from a compact Hermitian manifold with positive holomorphic sectional curvature …
We characterize operator-theoretic properties (boundedness, compactness, and Schatten class membership) of Toeplitz operators with positive measure symbols on Bergman spaces of holomorphic hermitian line bundles over Kähler Cartan-Hadamard manifolds in terms of geometric or operator-theoretic properties of measures.
In this paper, we establish the rigidity result for local holomorphic volume preserving maps from an irreducible Hermitian manifold of compact type into its Cartesian products.
For a holomorphic vector bundle over a compact Kähler orbifold, the slope stability of the bundle is shown to be equivalent to the existence of a Hermitian-Einstein metric or to the properness of a certain functional introduced by Donaldson.
We prove two results related to the Schwarz lemma in complex geometry. First, we show that if the inequality in the Schwarz lemmata of Yau, Royden and Tosatti becomes equality at one point, then the equality holds on the whole manifold. In particular, the holomorphic map is totally geodesic and has constant rank. In the second part, we study the holomorphic sectional curvature on an almost Hermitian manifold and establish a Schwarz lemma in terms of holomorphic sectional curvatures in almost Hermitian setting.
By using analytic method, we prove that there exist rational curves on compact Hermitian manifolds with positive holomorphic bisectional curvature. It confirms a question of S.-T. Yau. It is well-known that Mori proved in \cite{Mori79} that every compact complex manifold $N$ with $c_1(N)>0$ contains at least one rational curve. However, as a borderline example, we show that the standard Hopf surface $S^1\times S^3$ has a Hermitian metric with non-negative holomorphic bisectional curvature (in particular, $c_1(S^1\times S^3)\geq 0$), but it contains no rational curve.
