For every absolutely irreducible orthogonal representation of a twisted form of SL2 over a field of characteristic zero, we compute the "unique" symmetric bilinear form that is invariant under the group action. We also prove the analogous result for Weyl modules in prime characteristic (including characteristic 2) and an isomorphism between two symmetric bilinear forms given by binomial coefficients.
We construct Weil representations of twisted loop groups of type $A_n^{(2)}$ over local fields. We prove that the associated cover of the twisted loop group is the two fold metaplectic cover of the affine Kac-Moody group of type $A_n^{(2)}$ given by Patnaik-Puskas.
In this short paper, we study $n$-representation-finite algebras from the viewpoint of the fractionally Calabi-Yau property. We shall show that all $n$-representation-finite algebras are twisted fractionally Calabi-Yau. We also show that for any $\ell>0$, twisted $\frac{n(\ell-1)}{\ell}$-Calabi-Yau algebras of global dimension at most $n$ are $n$-representation-finite. As an application, we give a construction of $n$-representation-finite algebras using the tensor product.
We investigate the category of finite-dimensional representations of twisted hyper loop algebras, i.e., the hyperalgebras associated to twisted loop algebras over finite-dimensional simple Lie algebras. The main results are the classification of the irreducible modules, the definition of the universal highest-weight modules, called the Weyl modules, and, under a certain mild restriction on the characteristic of the ground field, a proof that the simple modules and the Weyl modules for the twisted hyper loop algebras are isomorphic to appropriate simple and Weyl modules for the non-twisted hype…
In this paper we consider the category of F^σof finite-dimensional representations of a twisted loop algebra corresponding to a finite-dimensional Lie algebra with non-trivial diagram automorphism. Although F^σis not semisimple, it can be written as a sum of indecomposable subcategories (the blocks of the category). To describe these summands, we introduce the twisted spectral characters for the twisted loop algebra. These are certain equivalence classes of the spectral characters defined by Chari and Moura for an untwisted loop algebra, which were used to provide a description of the blocks o…
Let $Γ$ be a generic subgroup of the multiplicative group $\mathbb{C}^*$ of nonzero complex numbers. We define a class of Lie algebras associated to $Γ$, called twisted $Γ$-Lie algebras, which is a natural generalization of the twisted affine Lie algebras. Starting from an arbitrary even sublattice $Q$ of $\mathbb Z^N$ and an arbitrary finite order isometry of $\mathbb Z^N$ preserving $Q$, we construct a family of twisted $Γ$-vertex operators acting on generalized Fock spaces which afford irreducible representations for certain twisted $Γ$-Lie algebras. As application, this recovers a number o…
Let $G_\cpl$ be a connected complex reductive Lie group, and $G$ be a real form. Let $(π,V)$ be a finite-dimensional irreducible representation of $G$. Assume $(π,V)$ admits a $G$ invariant hermitian form. {In \cite{Signature-of-a-rep-of-reductive}, an analog of the Weyl dimension formula that instead computes the signature of the invariant form for finite dimensional representations of complex Lie groups is given. The goal of this paper is to give a short alternate proof as an application of a more general twisted character theory of \cite{Dirac-Index-and-Twisted-Characters}.
We give the principal realization of the twisted Yangians of orthogonal and symplectic types. The new bases are interpreted in terms of discrete Fourier transform over the cyclic group Z_N.
In order to compute Hermitian forms on representations of real reductive groups, in the unequal rank case, it is necessary to compute twisted Kazhdan-Lusztig-Vogan polynomials. These were defined by Lusztig and Vogan (Quasisplit Hecke algebras and Symmetric Spaces, Duke, 2014) and discussed further by Adams and Vogan (Parameters for twisted representations, 2015). These notes contain the details necessary to go from what is in those papers to an explicit algorithm. This algorithm has been implemented in the Atlas of Lie Groups and Representations software.
Here we consider two algebras, a free unital associative complex algebra (denoted by ${\mathcal{B}}$) equiped with a multiparametric \textbf{\emph{q}}-differential structure and a twisted group algebra (denoted by ${\mathcal{A}(S_{n})}$), with the motivation to represent the algebra ${\mathcal{A}(S_{n})}$ on the (generic) weight subpaces of the algebra ${\mathcal{B}}$. One of the fundamental problems in ${\mathcal{B}}$ is to describe the space of all constants (the elements which are annihilated by all multiparametric partial derivatives). To solve this problem, one needs some special matrices…
The notion of derivatives for smooth representations of $GL(n,\mathbb{Q}_p)$ was defined in [BZ77]. In the archimedean case, an analog of the highest derivative was defined for irreducible unitary representations in [Sah89] and called the "adduced" representation. In [AGS] derivatives of all orders were defined for smooth admissible Frechet representations (of moderate growth). A key ingredient of this definition is the functor of twisted coinvariants with respect to the nilradical of the mirabolic subgroup. In this paper we prove exactness of this functor and compute it on a certain class of …
We use evaluation representations to give a complete classification of the finite-dimensional simple modules of twisted current algebras. This generalizes and unifies recent work on multiloop algebras, current algebras, equivariant map algebras, and twisted forms.
The study of Hermitian forms on a real reductive group $G$ gives rise, in the unequal rank case, to a new class of Kazhdan-Lusztig-Vogan polynomials. These are associated with an outer automorphism $δ$ of $G$, and are related to representations of the extended group $<G,δ>$. These polynomials were defined geometrically by Lusztig and Vogan in "Quasisplit Hecke Algebras and Symmetric Spaces", Duke Math. J. 163 (2014), 983--1034. In order to use their results to compute the polynomials, one needs to describe explicitly the extension of representations to the extended group. This paper analyzes t…
In this paper, we first obtain a general result on sufficient conditions for tensor product modules to be simple over an arbitrary Lie algebra. We classify simple modules with a nice property over the infinite-dimensional Heisenberg algebra ${\H}$, and then obtain a lot of simple modules over the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra $\LL$ from generalized oscillator representations of $\LL$ by extending these $\H$-modules. We give the necessary and sufficient conditions for Whittaker modules over $\LL$ (in the more general setting) to be simple. We use the "shifting technique" to determine the …
In this paper we generalize Drinfeld's twisted quantum affine algebras to construct twisted quantum algebras for all simply-laced generalized Cartan matrices and present their vertex representation realizations.
We initiate a theory of highest weight representations for twisted Yangians of types B, C, D and we classify the finite-dimensional irreducible representations of twisted Yangians associated to symmetric pairs of types CI, DIII and BCD0.
In this paper, we will establish the relatively unknown result that every $ \ast $-representation for a discrete twisted $ C^{\ast} $-dynamical system $ (G,A,α,ω) $ is automatically contractive with respect to the $ L^{1} $-norm on $ {C_{c}}(G,A) $.
We unify and generalize several approaches to constructing braid group representations from finite groups, using iterated twisted tensor products. Our results hint at a relationship between the braidings on the $G$-gaugings of a pointed modular category $\mathcal{C}(A,Q)$ and that of $\mathcal{C}(A,Q)$ itself.
We give explicit realizations of irreducible representations of the Yangian of the general linear Lie algebra and of its twisted analogues, corresponding to symplectic and orthogonal Lie algebras. In particular, we develop the fusion procedure for twisted Yangians. For the non-twisted Yangian, this procedure goes back to the works of Cherednik.
In this paper, we prove the categories of lower bounded twisted modules of positive integer levels for simple vertex operator algebras associated with affine Lie algebras and general automorphisms are semisimple, using the twisted generalization of Zhu's algebra for these vertex operator algebras, constructed in \cite{HY}. We also show that the category of lower bounded twisted modules for a general automorphism is equivalent to the category of lower bounded twisted modules for the corresponding diagram automorphism.
We describe the structure of the irreducible highest weight modules for the twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro Lie algebra at level zero. We prove that such a module is either isomorphic to a Verma module or to a quotient of two Verma modules.
The twisted q-Yangians are coideal subalgebras of the quantum affine algebra associated with gl(N). We prove a classification theorem for finite-dimensional irreducible representations of the twisted q-Yangians associated with the symplectic Lie algebras sp(2n). The representations are parameterized by their highest weights or by their Drinfeld polynomials. In the simplest case of sp(2) we give an explicit description of all the representations as tensor products of evaluation modules. We prove analogues of the Poincare-Birkhoff-Witt theorem for the quantum affine algebra and for the twisted q…
We establish the $Q \widetilde{Q}$-systems for the twisted quantum affine algebras that were conjectured in arXiv:1606.05301. We develop the representation theory of Borel subalgebra of twisted quantum affine algebras and we construct their prefundamental representations. We also propose a general conjecture on the relations between twisted and non-twisted types. We prove this conjecture for some particular classes of representations, including prefundamental representations.
In this work, we explicitly compute a certain family of twisted gamma factors of a simple supercuspidal representation $π$ of a $p$-adic odd orthogonal group. These computations, together with analogous computations for general linear groups carried out in previous work with Liu, allow us to give a prediction for the Langlands parameter of $π$. If we assume the "depth-preserving conjecture", we prove that our prediction is correct if $p$ is sufficiently large.
Given a central simple algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ and a Galois extension of base rings $S/R$, we show that the maximal ideals of twisted $S/R$-forms of the algebra of currents $\mathfrak{g}(R)$ are in natural bijection with the maximal ideals of $R$. When $\mathfrak{g}$ is a Lie algebra, we use this to give a complete classification of the finite-dimensional simple modules over twisted forms of $\mathfrak{g}(R)$.
We study certain representations of quantum toroidal $\mathfrak{gl}_1$ algebra for $q=t$. We construct explicit bosonization of the Fock modules $\mathcal{F}_u^{(n',n)}$ with a nontrivial slope $n'/n$. As a vector space, it is naturally identified with the basic level 1 representation of affine $\mathfrak{gl}_n$. We also study twisted $W$-algebras of $\mathfrak{sl}_n$ acting on these Fock modules. As an application, we prove the relation on $q$-deformed conformal blocks which was conjectured in the study of $q$-deformation of isomonodromy/CFT correspondence.
We construct a class of new Lie algebras by generalizing the one-variable Lie algebras generated by the quadratic conformal algebras (or corresponding Hamiltonian operators) associated to Poisson algebras and a quasi-derivation found by Xu. These algebras can be viewed as certain twists of Xu's generalized Hamiltonian Lie algebras. The simplicity of these algebras is completely determined. Moreover, we construct a family of multiplicity-free representations of these Lie algebras and prove their irreducibility.
We study a class of quantized enveloping algebras, called twisted Yangians, associated with the symmetric pairs of types B, C, D in Cartan's classification. These algebras can be regarded as coideal subalgebras of the extended Yangian for orthogonal or symplectic Lie algebras. They can also be presented as quotients of a reflection algebra by additional symmetry relations. We prove an analogue of the Poincare-Birkhoff-Witt Theorem, determine their centres and also study extended reflection algebras.
We prove that any twisted generalized Weyl algebra satisfying certain consistency conditions can be embedded into a crossed product. We also introduce a new family of twisted generalized Weyl algebras, called multiparameter twisted Weyl algebras, for which we parametrize all simple quotients of a certain kind. Both Jordan's simple localization of the multiparameter quantized Weyl algebra and Hayashi's $q$-analog of the Weyl algebra are special cases of this construction. We classify all simple weight modules over any multiparameter twisted Weyl algebra. Extending results by Benkart and Ondrus,…
We prove that if $G$ is a finite simple group, then all irreducible complex representations of $G$ by be realized over the real numbers if and only if every element of $G$ may be written as a product of two involutions in $G$. This follows from our result that if $q$ is a power of $2$, then all irreducible complex representations of the orthogonal groups $\mathrm{O}^{\pm}(2n, \mathbb{F}_q)$ may be realized over the real numbers. We also obtain generating functions for the sums of degrees of several sets of unipotent characters of finite orthogonal groups, and we obtain a twisted version of our…
