In this paper we consider the category of F^σof finite-dimensional representations of a twisted loop algebra corresponding to a finite-dimensional Lie algebra with non-trivial diagram automorphism. Although F^σis not semisimple, it can be written as a sum of indecomposable subcategories (the blocks of the category). To describe these summands, we introduce the twisted spectral characters for the twisted loop algebra. These are certain equivalence classes of the spectral characters defined by Chari and Moura for an untwisted loop algebra, which were used to provide a description of the blocks of finite--dimensional representations of the untwisted loop algebra. Here we adapt this decomposition to parametrize and describe the blocks of F^σ, via the twisted spectral characters.
We decompose the twisted Foulkes characters $ϕ^{(2^n)}_ν$, or equivalently the plethysm $s_ν\circ s_{(2)}$, in the cases where $ν$ has either two rows or two columns, or is a hook partition.
In this paper, we introduce a family of indecomposable finite-dimensional graded modules for the twisted current algebras. These modules are indexed by an $|R^+|$-tuple of partitions $\bxi=(ξ^α)_{α\in R^+}$ satisfying a natural compatibility condition. We give three equivalent presentations of these modules and show that for a particular choice of $\bxi$ these modules become isomorphic to Demazure modules in various levels for the twisted affine algebras. As a consequence we see that the defining relations of twisted Demazure modules can be greatly simplified. Furthermore, we investigate the n…
We classify blocks of categories of weight and generalized weight modules of algebras of twisted differential operators on P^n. Necessary and sufficient conditions for these blocks to be tame and proofs that some of the blocks are Koszul are provided. We also establish equivalences of categories between these blocks and categories of bounded and generalized bounded weight sl(n+1)-modules in the cases of nonintegral and singular central character.
In this paper, we introduce the Newton decomposition on a connected reductive $p$-adic group $G$. Based on it we give a nice decomposition of the cocenter of its Hecke algebra. Here we consider both the ordinary cocenter associated to the usual conjugation action on $G$ and the twisted cocenter arising from the theory of twisted endoscopy. We give Iwahori-Matsumoto type generators on the Newton components of the cocenter. Based on it, we prove a generalization of Howe's conjecture on the restriction of (both ordinary and twisted) invariant distributions. Finally we give an explicit description…
Twisted current algebras are fixed point subalgebras of current algebras under a finite group action. Special cases include equivariant map algebras and twisted forms of current algebras. Their finite-dimensional simple modules fall into two categories, those which factor through an evaluation map and those which do not. We show that there are no nontrivial extensions between finite-dimensional simple evaluation and non-evaluation modules. We then compute extensions between any pair of finite-dimensional simple modules for twisted current algebras, and use this information to determine the blo…
In this paper, we study the algebra of twisted vertex operators over an even integral ${\mathbf Z}_2$-lattice, and give a kind of systematic construction of fundamental representations for affine Lie algebras of type $A$, $D$, $E$ with their irreducible decompositions.
We study certain representations of quantum toroidal $\mathfrak{gl}_1$ algebra for $q=t$. We construct explicit bosonization of the Fock modules $\mathcal{F}_u^{(n',n)}$ with a nontrivial slope $n'/n$. As a vector space, it is naturally identified with the basic level 1 representation of affine $\mathfrak{gl}_n$. We also study twisted $W$-algebras of $\mathfrak{sl}_n$ acting on these Fock modules. As an application, we prove the relation on $q$-deformed conformal blocks which was conjectured in the study of $q$-deformation of isomonodromy/CFT correspondence.
The aim of this paper is to generalize the notion of conformal blocks to the situation in which the Lie algebra they are attached to is not defined over a field, but depends on covering data of curves. The result will be a sheaf of conformal blocks on the Hurwitz stack parametrizing Galois coverings of curves. Many features of the classical sheaves of conformal blocks are proved to hold in this more general setting, in particular the fusion rules, the propagation of vacua and the WZW connection.
Using $n$ finite order automorphisms on a simple complex Lie algebra we construct twisted $n$-toroidal Lie algebras. Thus obtaining Lie algebras wich have a rootspace decomposition. For the case $n=2$ we list certain simple Lie algebras and their automorphisms, which produce twisted 2-toroidal algebras. In this way we obtain Lie algebras that are related to all Extended Affine Root Systems of K. Saito.
In this paper, we give a Verlinde formula for computing the ranks of the bundles of twisted conformal blocks associated with a simple Lie algebra equipped with an action of a finite group $Γ$ and a positive integral level $\ell$ under the assumption that "$Γ$ preserves a Borel". As a motivation for this Verlinde formula, we prove a categorical Verlinde formula which computes the fusion coefficients for any $Γ$-crossed modular fusion category as defined by Turaev. To relate these two versions of the Verlinde formula, we formulate the notion of a $Γ$-crossed modular functor and show that it is v…
We present some blocks of Ariki-Koike algebras $\mathcal{H}_{n,r}$ for which the decomposition matrices are independent of the characteristic of the underlying field. We complete the description of the graded decomposition numbers for blocks of Ariki-Koike algebras of weight at most two, which consists of analysing the indecomposable core blocks at level $r = 3$, and give a closed formula for the decomposition numbers in this case.
We compute the decomposition numbers of the unipotent characters lying in the principal $\ell$-block of a finite group of Lie type $B_{2n}(q)$ or $C_{2n}(q)$ when $q$ is an odd prime power and $\ell$ is an odd prime number such that the order of $q$ mod $\ell$ is $2n$. Along the way, we extend to these finite groups the results of \cite{DVV19} on the branching graph for Harish-Chandra induction and restriction.
Let F be a non-Archimedean locally compact field of residue characteristic p, let G be an inner form of GL(n,F) with n>0, and let l be a prime number different from p. We describe the block decomposition of the category of finite length smooth representations of G with coefficients in an algebraically closed field of characteristic l. Unlike the case of complex representations of an arbitrary p-adic reductive group and that of l-modular representations of GL(n,F), several non-isomorphic supercuspidal supports may correspond to the same block. We describe the (finitely many) supercuspidal suppo…
We study stratifying ideals for rings in the context of relative homological algebra. Using LU-decompositions, which are a special type of twisted products, we give a sufficient condition for an idempotent ideal to be (relative) stratifying.
We construct an explicit set of generators for the finite W-algebras associated to nilpotent matrices in the symplectic or orthogonal Lie algebras whose Jordan blocks are all of the same size. We use these generators to show that such finite W-algebras are quotients of twisted Yangians.
A representation of the central extension of the unitary Lie algebra coordinated with a skew Laurent polynomial ring is constructed using vertex operators over an integral Z_2-lattice. The irreducible decomposition of the representation is explicitly computed and described. As a by-product, some fundamental representations of affine Kac-Moody Lie algebra of type $A_n^{(2)}$ are recovered by the new method.
This paper is an attempt to compute the decomposition numbers of the blocks of the symmetric group which have "small defect"; that is, blocks of weight smaller than the characteristic. We present various methods for computing such decomposition numbers and use these as support for a conjecture which relates decomposition numbers in different characteristics. Finally, we apply our techniques to blocks of weight three.
In this note we formulate and prove a version of Cartan decomposition for holomorphic loop groups, similar to Cartan decomposition for $p$-adic loop groups, discussed proved by Garland (and later by the authors by geometric mathods). The main technical tool that we use is the (well-known) interpretation of twisted conjugacy classes in the holomorphic loop group in terms of principal holomorphic bundles on an elliptic curve.
As shown by Bonnafé, a step in proving a Jordan decomposition of characters of finite special linear groups is the parametrization of unipotent characters of centralizers of semi-simple elements in projective linear groups. We show the same kind of result in the case of finite special unitary groups. The proof leads to a mild adaptation of Bonnafé's methods expounded in [B99]. The outcome is a Jordan decomposition of characters compatible with Lusztig's twisted induction.
This paper addresses the decomposition number problem for spin representations of symmetric groups in odd characteristic. Our main aim is to find a combinatorial formula for decomposition numbers in blocks of defect $2$, analogous to Richards's formula for defect $2$ blocks of symmetric groups. By developing a suitable analogue of the combinatorics used by Richards, we find a formula for the corresponding "$q$-decomposition numbers", i.e.\ the canonical basis coefficients in the level-$1$ $q$-deformed Fock space of type $A^{(2)}_{2n}$; a special case of a conjecture of Leclerc and Thibon asser…
Three-dimensional N = 4 supersymmetric quantum field theories admit two topological twists, the Rozansky-Witten twist and its mirror. Either twist can be used to define a supersymmetric compactification on a Riemann surface and a corre- sponding space of supersymmetric ground states. These spaces of ground states can play an interesting role in the Geometric Langlands program. We propose a description of these spaces as conformal blocks for certain non-unitary Vertex Operator Algebras and test our conjecture in some important examples. The two VOAs can be constructed respectively from a UV Lag…
Let $G$ be a finite group and $N$ be a normal subgroup of $G$. Let $J=J(F[N])$ denote the Jacboson radical of $F[N]$ and $I={\rm Ann}(J)=\{α\in F[G]|Jα=0\}$. We have another algebra $F[G]/I$. We study the decomposition of Cartan matrix of $F[G]$ according to $F[G/N]$ and $F[G]/I$. This decomposition establishs some connections between Cartan invariants and chief composition factors of $G$. We find that existing zero-defect $p$-block in $N$ depends on the properties of $I$ in $F[G]$ or Cartan invariants. When we consider the Cartan invariants for a block algebra $B$ of $G$, the decomposition is…
As a step to establish the blockwise Alperin weight conjecture for all finite groups, we verify the inductive blockwise Alperin weight condition introduced by Navarro--Tiep and Späth for simple groups of Lie type $\mathsf A$, split or twisted. Key to the proofs is to reduce the verification of the inductive condition to the isolated (that means unipotent) blocks, using the Jordan decomposition for blocks of finite reductive groups given by Bonnafé, Dat and Rouquier.
Given two m x n matrices A = (a_{ij}) and B=(b_{ij}) with entries in B(H), the Schur block product is the m x n matrix A \square B := (a_{ij}b_{ij}). There exists an m x n contraction matrix S = (s_{ij}), such that A \square B = diag(AA*)^(1/2) S diag(B*B)^(1/2). This decomposition is also valid for the block Schur tensor product. It is shown, via the theory of random matrices, that the set of contractions S, which may appear in such a decomposition, is a very thin subset of the unit ball of M_n(B(H)).
