These lecture notes are intended as an introduction to the theory of rational Dunkl operators and the associated special functions, with an emphasis on positivity and asymptotics.
We start with an outline of the general concepts: Dunkl operators, the intertwining operator, the Dunkl kernel and the Dunkl transform. We point out the connection with integrable particle systems of Calogero-Moser-Sutherland type, and discuss some systems of orthogonal polynomials associated with them. A major part is devoted to positivity results for the intertwining operator and the Dunkl kernel, the Dunkl-type heat semigroup, and related probabilistic aspects. The notes conclude with recent results on the asymptotics of the Dunkl kernel.
In this note, a new proof for the positivity of Dunkl's intertwining operator in the crystallographic case is given. It is based on an asymptotic relationship between the Opdam-Cherednik kernel and the Dunkl kernel as recently observed by M. de Jeu, and on positivity results of S. Sahi for the Heckman-Opdam polynomials and their non-symmetric counterparts.
This note is devoted to the intertwining operator in the one--dimensional trigonometric Dunkl setting. We obtain a simple integral expression of this operator and deduce its positivity.
In this note, we express explicitly the Dunkl kernel and generalized Bessel functions of type $A_{n-1}$ by the Humbert's function $Φ_{2}^{(n)}$, with one variable specified. The obtained formulas lead to a new proof of Xu's integral expression for the intertwining operator associated to symmetric groups, which was recently reported in [21].
Let $V_k$ denote Dunkl's intertwining operator associated with some root system $R$ and multiplicity function $k$. For two multiplicities $k, k^\prime$ on $R$, we study the operator $V_{k^\prime,k} = V_{k^\prime}\circ V_k^{-1}$, which intertwines the Dunkl operators for multiplicity $k$ with those for multiplicity $k^\prime.$ While it is well-known that the operator $V_k$ is positive for nonnegative $k$, it has been a long-standing conjecture that its generalizations $V_{k^\prime,k}$ are also positive if $k^\prime \geq k \geq 0,$ which is known to be true in rank one. In this paper, we disprov…
Dunkl operators associated with finite reflection groups generate a commutative algebra of differential-difference operators. There exists a unique linear operator called intertwining operator which intertwines between this algebra and the algebra of standard differential operators. There also exists a generalization of the Fourier transform in this context called Dunkl transform. In this paper, we determine an integral expression for the Dunkl kernel, which is the integral kernel of the Dunkl transform, for all dihedral groups. We also determine an integral expression for the intertwining ope…
The operator that intertwines between the $\mathbb{Z}_2$ - Dunkl operator and the derivative is shown to have a realization in terms of the oscillator operators in one dimension. This observation rests on the fact that the Dunkl intertwining operator maps the Hermite polynomials on the generalized Hermite polynomials.
In this paper we prove inversion formulas for the Dunkl intertwining operator $V_k$ and for its dual ${}^tV_k$ and we deduce the expression of the representing distributions of the inverse operators $V_k^{-1}$ and ${}^tV_k^{-1}$, and we give some applications.
In this work, we consider the Dunkl complex reflection operators related to the group $G(m,1,N)$ in the complex plane \begin{align*} T_i=\frac{\partial}{\partial z_i}+k_0\sum_{j\neq i}\sum_{r=0}^{m-1}\frac{1-s_i^{-r}(i,j)s_i^r} {z_i-\varepsilon^r z_j}+\sum_{j=1}^{m-1}k_j\sum_{r=0}^{m-1}\frac{\varepsilon^{-rj}s_i^r}{z_i}, \,\,1\leq i\leq N. \end{align*} We first review the theory of Dunkl operators for complex reflection groups we recall some results related to the hyper--Bessel functions, which are solutions of a higher order differential equation. Secondly, we construct a new explicit intertw…
In this paper, a family of radial deformations of the realization of the Lie superalgebra osp(1|2) in the theory of Dunkl operators is obtained. This leads to a Dirac operator depending on 3 parameters. Several function theoretical aspects of this operator are studied, such as the associated measure, the related Laguerre polynomials and the related Fourier transform. For special values of the parameters, it is possible to construct the kernel of the Fourier transform explicitly, as well as the related intertwining operator.
In this paper, we introduce a new differential-difference operator $T_ξ$ $(ξ\in \mathbb{R}^N)$ by using projections associated to orthogonal subsystems in root systems. Similarly to Dunkl theory, we show that these operators commute and we construct an intertwining operator between $T_ξ$ and the directional derivative $\partial_ξ$. In the case of one variable, we prove that the Kummer functions are eigenfunctions of this operator.
We consider the Dunkl intertwining operator $V_α$ and its dual ${}^tV_α$, we define and study the Dunkl Sonine operator and its dual on $\mathbb{R}$. Next, we introduce complex powers of the Dunkl Laplacian $Δ_α$ and establish inversion formulas for the Dunkl Sonine operator $S_{α,β}$ and its dual ${}^tS_{α,β}$. Also, we give a Plancherel formula for the operator ${}^tS_{α,β}$.
An integral representation of the intertwining operator for the Dunkl operators associated with symmetric groups is derived for the class of functions of a single component. The expression provides a closed form formula for the reproducing kernels of $h$-harmonics associated with symmetric groups when one of the components is a coordinate vector. The latter allows us to establish a sharp result for the Cesàro summability of $h$-harmonic series on the unit sphere.
The Dunkl operators associated to a dihedral group are a pair of differential-difference operators that generate a commutative algebra acting on differentiable functions in $\mathbb{R}^2$. The intertwining operator intertwines between this algebra and the algebra of differential operators. The main result of this paper is an integral representation of the intertwining operator on a class of functions. As an application, closed formulas for the Poisson kernels of $h$-harmonics and sieved Gegenbauer polynomials are deduced when one of the variables is at vertices of a regular polygon, and simila…
In this paper, we establish an integral expression for the Dunkl kernel in the context of Dihedral group of an arbitrary order by using the results in \cite{M-Y-Vk} where a construction of the Dunkl intertwining operator for a large set of regular parameter functions is provided. We introduce a differential equations systems that leads to the explicit expression of the Dunkl Kernel whenever an appropriate solution of it is obtained. In particular, an explicit expression of the Dunkl kernel $E_k(x,y)$ is given when one of its argument $x$ or $y$ is invariant under the action of a known reflecti…
It is an open conjecture that generalized Bessel functions associated with root systems have a positive product formula for non-negative multiplicity parameters of the associated Dunkl operators. In this paper, a partial result towards this conjecture is proven, namely a positive radial product formula for the non-symmetric counterpart of the generalized Bessel function, the Dunkl kernel. Radial hereby means that one of the factors in the product formula is replaced by its mean over a sphere. The key to this product formula is a positivity result for the Dunkl-type spherical mean operator. It …
We generalize Wiener amalgam spaces by using Dunkl translation instead of the classical one, and we give some relationship between these spaces, Dunkl-Lebesgue spaces and Dunkl-Morrey spaces. We prove that the Hardy-Litlewood maximal function associated with the Dunkl operators is bounded on these generalized Dunkl-Morrey spaces.
We give an extension of Pizzetti's formula associated with the Dunkl operators. It gives an explicit formula for the Dunkl inner product of an arbitrary function and a homogeneous Dunkl harmonic polynomial on the unit sphere.
In this paper we present another proofs of the geometrical forms of Paley-Wiener theorems for the Dunkl transform given in [15], and we prove inversion formulas for the Dunl interwining operator Vk and for its dual tVk and we deduce the expression of the representing distributions of the inverse operators vk(-1) and tvk(-1).
In this paper, we pursue the investigations started in \cite{Mas-You} where the authors provide a construction of the Dunkl intertwining operator for a large subset of the set of regular multiplicity values. More precisely, we make concrete the action of this operator on homogeneous polynomials when the root system is of dihedral type and under a mild assumption on the multiplicity function. In particular, we obtain a formula for the corresponding Dunkl kernel and another representation of the generalized Bessel function already derived in \cite{Demni0}. When the multiplicity function is every…
Hardy-Littlewood maximal, generalized Bessel-Riesz and generalized fractional integral operators in generalized Morrey and $BMO_ϕ$ spaces associated with Dunkl operator on the real line
Strichartz inequality for the solutions of free Schrödinger equation associated with Dunkl Hermite operator $H_κ$ is generalized to any system of orthonormal functions with initial data. A relation between the kernels of Schrödinger propagators ($e^{-it H_κ}$ and $e^{itΔ_κ}$) associated with the Dunkl Hermite and Dunkl Laplacian operators is established using which corresponding Schtrichartz inequality for orthonormal functions associated with Dunkl Laplacian is obtained.
In this article, we establish the Fefferman-Stein inequalities for the Dunkl maximal operator associated with a finite reflection group generated by the sign changes. Similar results are also given for a large class of operators related to Dunkl's analysis.
The purpose of this paper is to introduce a new class of singular integral operators in the Dunkl setting involving both the Euclidean metric and the Dunkl metric. Then we provide the $T1$ theorem, the criterion for the boundedness on $L^2$ for these operators. Applying this singular integral operator theory, we establish the Littlewood-Paley theory and the Dunkl-Hardy spaces. As applications, the boundedness of singular integral operators, particularly, the Dunkl-Rieze transforms, on the Dunkl-Hardy spaces is given. The $L^2$ theory and the singular integral operator theory play crucial roles…
The real theory of the Dunkl operators has been developed very extensively, while there still lacks the corresponding complex theory. In this paper we introduce the complex Dunkl operators for certain Coxeter groups. These complex Dunkl operators have the commutative property, which makes it possible to establish a corresponding complex analysis of Dunkl operators.
In this article, we first improve the scalar maximal theorem for the Dunkl maximal operator by giving some precisions on the behavior of the constants of this theorem for a general reflection group. Next we complete the vector-valued theorem for the Dunkl-type Fefferman-Stein operator in the case $\mathbb Z_2^d$ by establishing a result of exponential integrability corresponding to the case $p=+\infty$.
The goal of this paper is to present a Dunkl-Gamma type operator with the help of two-variable Hermite polynomials and to derive its approximating properties via the classical modulus of continuity, second modulus of continuity and Peetre's $K$-functional.
In this paper, we construct a linear positive operators q-parametric Szasz-Mirakjan operators generated by the q-Dunkl generalization of the exponential function. We obtain Korovkin's type approximation theorem for these operators and compute convergence of these operators by using the modulus of continuity. Furthermore, the rate of convergence of the operators for functions belonging to the Lipschitz class is presented.
We prove that the spherical mean value of the Dunkl-type generalized translation operator $τ^y$ is a positive $L^p$-bounded generalized translation operator $T^t$. As application, we prove the Young inequality for a convolution defined by $T^t$, the $L^p$-boundedness of $τ^y$ on a radial functions for $p>2$, the $L^p$-boundedness of the Riesz potential for the Dunkl transform and direct and inverse theorems of approximation theory in $L^p$-spaces with the Dunkl weight.
We investigate local variants of Nash inequalities in the context of Dunkl operators. Pseudo-Poincaré inequalities are first established using pointwise gradient estimates of the Dunkl heat kernel. These inequalities allow to obtain relative Nash-type inequalities which are used to derive mean value inequalities for subsolutions of the heat equation on orbits of balls not necessarily centered on the origin.
The goal in the paper is to advertise Dunkl extension of Szasz beta type operators. We initiate approximation features via acknowledged Korovkin and weighted Korovkin theorem and obtain the convergence rate from the point of modulus of continuity, second order modulus of continuity, the Lipschitz class functions, Peetre's K-functional and modulus of weighted continuity by Dunkl generalization of Szasz beta type operators.
In this paper we consider the representing measures $μ_{x},x\in \QTR{Bbb}{R}^{d}$, and $ν_{y},y\in \QTR{Bbb}{R}^{d}$, of the Dunkl intertwining operator and of its dual. When the multiplicity function is positive, we prove that for all $x\in \QTR{Bbb}{R}_{\QTO{mbox}{reg}}^{d}$ we have $dμ_{x}(y)=\QTR{cal}{K}(x,y)dy$ and for almost all $y\in \QTR{Bbb}{R}^{d}$ we have $dν_{y}(x)=\QTR{cal}{K}(x,y)ω_{k}(x)dx,$ where $\QTR{cal}{K}(x,.)$ is a positive integrable function on $\QTR{Bbb}{R}^{d}$ with support in $\{y\in \QTR{Bbb}{R}^{d}/\Vert y\Vert \leq \Vert x\Vert \}$ and the function $\QTR{cal}{K}(.…
We study potential operators associated with Laguerre function expansions of convolution and Hermite types, and with Dunkl-Laguerre expansions. We prove qualitatively sharp estimates of the corresponding potential kernels. Then we characterize those $1 \le p,q \le \infty$, for which the potential operators are $L^p-L^q$ bounded. These results are sharp analogues of the classical Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev fractional integration theorem in the Laguerre and Dunkl-Laguerre settings.
We construct a two-parameter family of actions ω_{k,a} of the Lie algebra sl(2,R) by differential-difference operators on R^N \setminus {0}. Here, k is a multiplicity-function for the Dunkl operators, and a>0 arises from the interpolation of the Weil representation of Mp(N,R) and the minimal unitary representation of O(N+1,2) keeping smaller symmetries. We prove that this action ω_{k,a} lifts to a unitary representation of the universal covering of SL(2,R), and can even be extended to a holomorphic semigroup Ω_{k,a}. In the k\equiv 0 case, our semigroup generalizes the Hermite semigroup studie…
We generalize classical Hobson's formula concerning partial derivatives of radial functions on a Euclidean space to a formula in the Dunkl analysis. As applications we give new simple proofs of known results involving Maxwell's representation of harmonic polynomials, Bochner-Hecke identity, Pizzetti formula for spherical mean, and Rodrigues formula for Hermite polynomials.
For a family of weight functions, $h_κ$, invariant under a finite reflection group on $\RR^d$, analysis related to the Dunkl transform is carried out for the weighted $L^p$ spaces. Making use of the generalized translation operator and the weighted convolution, we study the summability of the inverse Dunkl transform, including as examples the Poisson integrals and the Bochner-Riesz means. We also define a maximal function and use it to prove the almost everywhere convergence.
The aim of this paper is to introduce a Dunkl generalization of the operators including two variable Hermite polynomials which are defined by Krech [14](Krech, G. A note on some positive linear operators associated with the Hermite polynomials, Carpathian J. Math., 32 (1) (2016), 71--77) and to investigate approximating properties for these operators by means of the classical modulus of continuity, second modulus of continuity and Peetre's K-functional.
The one-dimensional Dunkl operator $D_k$ with a non-negative parameter $k$, is considered under an arbitrary nonlocal boundary value condition. The right inverse operator of $D_k$, satisfying this condition is studied. An operational calculus of Mikusinski type is developed. In the frames of this operational calculi an extension of the Heaviside algorithm for solution of nonlocal Cauchy boundary value problems for Dunkl functional-differential equations $P(D_k)u=f$ with a given polynomial $P$ is proposed. The solution of these equations in mean-periodic functions reduces to such problems. Nece…
In this article, we give a sequence of operators for producing an approximation result. The relation between the rate of approximation of sequence operators including Dunkl variant of exponential function with first and second-order modulus of continuity are shown. A specific application of sequence of operators which include Gould-Hopper type polynomials is constructed.
Some weighted inequalities for the maximal operator with respect to the discrete diffusion semigroups associated with exceptional Jacobi and Dunkl-Jacobi polynomials are given. This setup allows to extend the corresponding results obtained for discrete heat semigroup recently to richer class of differential-difference operators.
In this paper we construct Stancu type q-Kantrovich-Szász-Mirakjan operators generated by Dunkl generalization of the exponential function. We obtain some approximation results using the Korovkin approximation theorem and the weighted Korovkin-type theorem for these operators. We also study convergence properties by using the modulus of continuity and the rate of convergence of these operators for functions belonging to the Lipschitz class. Furthermore, we obtain the rate of convergence in terms of the classical, second order, and weighted modulus of continuity.
In this paper, we introduce a modification of the Szasz-Mirakjan-Kantorovich operators as well as Stancu operators [9] (or a Dunkl generalization of modified Szasz-Mirakjan-Kantrovich operators [5]) which preserve the linear functions. These types of operators modification enables better error estimation than the classical Dunkl Szasz-MirakjanKantrovich as well as Stancu operators. We obtain some approximation results via well known Korovkin's type theorem, weighted Korovkin's type theorem convergence properties by using the modulus of continuity and the rate of convergence of the operators fo…
We establish an analogue of the Bochner theorem for first order operators of Dunkl type, that is we classify all such operators having polynomial solutions. Under natural conditions it is seen that the only families of orthogonal polynomials in this category are limits of little and big $q$-Jacobi polynomials as $q=-1$.
This paper is devoted to study the approximation properties and rate of approximation of the Szasz-Mirakjan-Kantrovich-Stancu type polynomials generated by the Dunkl generalization of the exponential function with respect to q -calculus. We present approximation properties with the help of well-known Korovkin's theorem and determine the rat e of convergence in terms of classical modulus of continuity, the class of Lipschitz functions, Peetre's K-functional, and the second-order modulus of continuity. Moreover, we obtain the approximation results for Bivariate case for these operators
We introduce a family of differential-reflection operators $Λ_{A, \varepsilon}$ acting on smooth functions defined on $\mathbb R.$ Here $A$ is a Strum-Liouville function with additional hypotheses and $\varepsilon\in \mathbb R.$ For special pairs $(A,\varepsilon),$ we recover Dunkl's, Heckman's and Cherednik's operators (in one dimension). The spectral problem for the operators $Λ_{A, \varepsilon}$ is studied. In particular, we obtain suitable growth estimates for the eigenfunctions of $Λ_{A, \varepsilon}$. As the operators $Λ_{A, \varepsilon}$ are mixture of $d/dx$ and reflection operators, w…
We prove Hardy-type inequalities for a fractional Dunkl--Hermite operator which incidentally give Hardy inequalities for the fractional harmonic oscillator as well. The idea is to use $h$-harmonic expansions to reduce the problem in the Dunkl--Hermite context to the Laguerre setting. Then, we push forward a technique based on a non-local ground representation, initially developed by R. L. Frank, E. H. Lieb and R. Seiringer in the Euclidean setting, to get a Hardy inequality for the fractional-type Laguerre operator. The above-mentioned method is shown to be adaptable to an abstract setting, wh…
We study several fundamental harmonic analysis operators in the multi-dimensional context of the Dunkl harmonic oscillator and the underlying group of reflections isomorphic to $\mathbb{Z}_2^d$. Noteworthy, we admit negative values of the multiplicity functions. Our investigations include maximal operators, $g$-functions, Lusin area integrals, Riesz transforms and multipliers of Laplace and Laplace-Stieltjes type. By means of the general Calderón-Zygmund theory we prove that these operators are bounded on weighted $L^p$ spaces, $1 < p < \infty$, and from weighted $L^1$ to weighted weak $L^1$. …
Analogous of Riesz potentials and Riesz transforms are defined and studied for the Dunkl transform associated with a family of weighted functions that are invariant under a reflection group. The $L^p$ boundedness of these operators is established in certain cases.
We consider the most general Dunkl shift operator $L$ with the following properties: (i) $L$ is of first order in the shift operator and involves reflections; (ii) $L$ preserves the space of polynomials of a given degree; (iii) $L$ is potentially self-adjoint. We show that under these conditions, the operator $L$ has eigenfunctions which coincide with the Bannai-Ito polynomials. We construct a polynomial basis which is lower-triangular and two-diagonal with respect to the action of the operator $L$. This allows to express the BI polynomials explicitly. We also present an anti-commutator AW(3) …
