The Poisson structures for 3D systems possessing one constant of motion can always be constructed from the solution of a linear PDE. When two constants of the motion are available the problem reduces to a quadrature and the structure functions include an arbitrary function of them.
We study Hamiltonian analysis of three-dimensional advection flow $\mathbf{\dot{x}}=\mathbf{v}({\bf x})$ of incompressible nature $\nabla \cdot {\bf v} ={\bf 0}$ assuming that dynamics is generated by the curl of a vector potential $\mathbf{v} = \nabla \times \mathbf{A}$. More concretely, we elaborate Nambu-Hamiltonian and bi-Hamiltonian characters of such systems under the light of vanishing or non-vanishing of the quantity $\mathbf{A} \cdot \nabla \times \mathbf{A}$. We present an example (satisfying $\mathbf{A} \cdot \nabla \times \mathbf{A} \neq 0$) which can be written as in the form of N…
In \cite{b-i-t}, F. Bagarello, A. Inoue and C. Trapani investigated some operators defined by Riesz bases. These operators connect with ${\it quasi}$-${\it hermitian \; quantum \; mechanics}$, and its relatives. In this paper, we change the frameworks of these operators, and then almost results obtained in \cite{b-i-t} become trivial. Furthermore, we introduce a notion of generalized Riesz bases which is a generalization of Riesz bases and investigate some operators defined by generalized Riesz bases.
In this paper a class of classical Hamiltonian systems is geometrically formulated. This class is such that a Hamiltonian can be written as the sum of a kinetic energy function and a potential energy function. In addition, these energy functions are assumed strictly convex. For this class of Hamiltonian systems Hessian and information geometric formulation is given. With this formulation, a generalized Toda's dual transform is proposed, where his original transform was used in deriving his integrable lattice system. Then a relation between the generalized Toda's dual transform and the Legendre…
We characterize all cases when a certain natural generalization of the Infeld--Rowlands equation admits nontrivial local conservation laws of any order, and give explicit form of these conservation laws modulo trivial ones. Furthermore, we prove that the equation under study admits no nontrivial local Hamiltonian and symplectic structures and no nontrivial local Noether and inverse Noether operators; the method of establishing the said nonexistence results can be readily applied to many other PDEs.
In this paper, some of formulations of Hamilton-Jacobi equations for Hamiltonian system on Lie algebroids are given. Here we use the general properties of Lie algebroids to express and prove two geometric version of the Hamilton-Jacobi theorem for Hamiltonian system on Lie algebroids. Then this results are generalized and two types of time-dependent Hamilton-Jacobi theorem of Hamiltonian system on Lie algebroids are obtained.
In this paper, a new generalized $5\times5$ matrix spectral problem of Ablowitz-Kaup-Newell-Segur(AKNS) type associated with the enlarged matrix Lie super algebra is proposed and its corresponding super soliton hierarchy is established. The super variational identities is used to furnish super-Hamiltonian structures for the resulting super soliton hierarchy.
In this paper we are concerned with completely integrable Hamiltonian systems in the setting of contact geometry. Unlike the symplectic case, contact structures are automatically Hamiltonian. Using the Jacobi brackets defined on contact manifolds, we discuss the commutativity of the first integrals for contact Hamiltonian systems and introduce the generalized contact action-angle variables. We exemplify the general scheme in the case of the five-dimensional toric Sasaki-Einstein spaces $T^{1,1}$ and $Y^{p,q}$.
This work reports and classifies the most general construction of rational quantum potentials in terms of the generalized Hermite polynomials. This is achieved by exploiting the intrinsic relation between third-order shape-invariant Hamiltonians and the fourth Painlevé equation, such that the generalized Hermite polynomials emerge from the $-1/x$ and $-2x$ hierarchies of rational solutions. Such a relation unequivocally establishes the discrete spectrum structure, which, in general, is composed as the union of a finite- and infinite-dimensional sequence of equidistant eigenvalues separated by …
We investigate the possibility to suppress interactions between a finite dimensional system and an infinite dimensional environment through a fast sequence of unitary kicks on the finite dimensional system. This method, called dynamical decoupling, is known to work for bounded interactions, but physical environments such as bosonic heat baths are usually modelled with unbounded interactions, whence here we initiate a systematic study of dynamical decoupling for unbounded operators. We develop a sufficient decoupling criterion for arbitrary Hamiltonians and a necessary decoupling criterion for …
We study the hydrodynamic-type system of differential equations modeling isothermal no-slip drift flux. Using the facts that the system is partially coupled and its subsystem reduces to the (1+1)-dimensional Klein--Gordon equation, we exhaustively describe generalized symmetries, cosymmetries and local conservation laws of this system. A generating set of local conservation laws under the action of generalized symmetries is proved to consist of two zeroth-order conservation laws. The subspace of translation-invariant conservation laws is singled out from the entire space of local conservation …
The authors previous derivation of a variational principle from the total work functional, as a generalization of the first variation of an action functional, is extended by deriving a corresponding generalization of the Hamiltonian formulation of that action functional. Some consequences of it are that one can decompose the Lie brackets of arbitrary vector fields on symplectic mechanics into a sum of terms that involve the Poisson brackets of the functions that appear in the normal form of the Pfaffian that is symplectic-dual to the vector field and that one can also generalize the Hamilton-J…

We demonstrate that a Poisson structure can always be associated to a general nonautonomous 3D vector field of ODEs by means of a diffeomorphism that preserves both the orientation and the volume of phase-space. The only prerequisite is the existence of one constant of motion.
This work is devoted to the establishment of a Poisson structure for a format of equations known as Generalized Lotka-Volterra systems. These equations, which include the classical Lotka-Volterra systems as a particular case, have been deeply studied in the literature. They have been shown to constitute a whole hierarchy of systems, the characterization of which is made in the context of simple algebra. Our main result is to show that this algebraic structure is completely translatable into the Poisson domain. Important Poisson structures features, such as the symplectic foliation and the Darb…
