We investigate 7 dimensional almost para-contact metric structures induced by the 3-forms of $G_2^*$ Structures. We calculate the projections that determine to which class the almost para-contact structure belongs, by using the properties of $G_2^*$ Structures.
Almost paracontact almost paracomplex Riemannian manifolds of the lowest dimension 3 are considered. Such structures are constructed on a family of Lie groups and the obtained manifolds are studied. Curvature properties of these manifolds are investigated. An example is commented as support of obtained results.
Almost paracontact almost paracomplex Riemannian manifolds of the lowest dimension are studied. Such structures are constructed on hyperspheres in 4-dimensional spaces, Euclidean and pseudo-Euclidean, respectively. The obtained manifolds are studied and characterised in terms of the classification used and their geometric properties.
Lie groups considered as three-dimensional almost paracontact almost paracomplex Riemannian manifolds are investigated. In each basic class of the classification used for the manifolds under consideration, a correspondence is established between the Lie algebra and the explicit matrix representation of its Lie group.
We study real affine hypersurfaces $f\colon M\rightarrow \mathbb{R}^{2n+2}$ with an almost paracontact structure $(φ,ξ,η)$ induced by a $\widetilde{J}$-tangent transversal vector filed, where $\widetilde{J}$ is the canonical paracomplex structure on $\mathbb{R}^{2n+2}$. We give a classification of hypersurfaces for which an induced almost paracontact structure is metric relative to the second fundamental form. Some other properties of such hypersurfaces are also studied.
Almost paracontact manifolds of an odd dimension having an almost paracomplex structure on the paracontact distribution are studied. The components of the fundamental (0,3)-tensor, derived by the covariant derivative of the structure endomorphism and the metric on the considered manifolds in each of the basic classes, are obtained. Then, the case of the lowest dimension 3 of these manifolds is considered. An associated tensor of the Nijenhuis tensor is introduced and the studied manifolds are characterized with respect to this pair of tensors. Moreover, cases of paracontact and para-Sasakian t…
This paper is a continuation of our previous work, where eleven basic classes of almost paracontact metric manifolds with respect to the covariant derivative of the structure tensor field were obtained. First we decompose one of the eleven classes into two classes and the basic classes of the considered manifolds become twelve. Also, we determine the classes of $α$-para-Sasakian, $α$-para-Kenmotsu, normal, paracontact metric, para-Sasakian, K-paracontact and quasi-para-Sasakian manifolds. Moreover, we study 3-dimensional almost paracontact metric manifolds and show that they belong to four bas…
There are introduced and studied a pair of associated Schouten-van Kampen affine connections adapted to the paracontact distribution and an almost paracontact almost paracomplex Riemannian structure generated by the pair of associated metrics and their Levi-Civita connections. By means of the constructed non-symmetric connections, the basic classes of the manifolds with the considered structure are characterized. Curvature properties of the studied connections are obtained. A family of examples on a Lie group is constructed.
In this paper we consider a manifold $(M,\nabla )$ with a symmetric linear connection $\nabla $ which induces on the cotangent bundle $T^*M$ of $M$ a semi-Riemannian metric $\overline g$ with a neutral signature. The metric $\overline g$ is called natural Riemann extension and it is a generalization (made by M. Sekizawa and O. Kowalski) of the Riemann extension, introduced by E. K. Patterson and A. G. Walker (1952). We construct two almost para-Hermitian structures on $(T^*M,\overline g)$ which are almost para-Kähler or para-Kähler and prove that the defined almost para-complex structures are …
For almost contact metric or almost paracontact metric manifolds there is natural notion of $η$-normality. Manifold is called $η$-normal if is normal along kernel distribution of characteristic form. In the paper it is proved that $η$-normal manifolds are in one-one correspondence with Cauchy-Riemann almost contact metric manifolds or para Cauchy-Riemann in case of almost paracontact metric manifolds. There is provided characterization of $η$-normal manifolds in terms of Levi-Civita covariant derivative of structure tensor. It is established existence a Tanaka-like connection on $η$-normal man…
Let $\widetilde{J}$ be the canonical para-complex structure on $\mathbb{R}^{2n+2}\simeq\widetilde{\mathbb{C}}^{n+1}$. We study real affine hypersurfaces $f\colon M\rightarrow \widetilde{\mathbb{C}}^{n+1}$ with a $\widetilde{J}$-tangent transversal vector field. Such vector field induces in a natural way an almost paracontact structure ${(φ,ξ,η)}$ on $M$ as well as the affine connection $\nabla$. In this paper we give the classification of hypersurfaces with the property that $φ$ or $η$ is parallel relative to the connection $\nabla$. Moreover, we show that if $\nablaφ=0$ (respectively $\nablaη…
The purpose of the paper is to study Yamabe solitons on three-dimensional para-Sasakian, paracosymplectic and para-Kenmotsu manifolds. Mainly, we proved that *If the semi-Riemannian metric of a three-dimensional para-Sasakian manifold is a Yamabe soliton, then it is of constant scalar curvature, and the flow vector field V is Killing. In the next step, we proved that either manifold has constant curvature -1 and reduces to an Einstein manifold, or V is an infinitesimal automorphism of the paracontact metric structure on the manifold. *If the semi-Riemannian metric of a three-dimensional paraco…
On basic curvature identities for almost (para)contact metric manifolds
It is provided an overview of existed results concerning classification of contact metric, almost cosymplectic and almost Kenmotsu $(κ,μ)$-manifolds. In the case of dimension three it is described in full details structure of contact metric or almost cosymplectic $(κ,μ)$-spaces. The second part of the paper addresses three-dimensional paracontact metric and almost paracosymplectic $(κ,μ)$-spaces. There is obtained local classification of paracontact metric $(κ,μ)$-spaces, and almost paracosymplectic $(κ,μ)$-spaces, for every possible value of $κ$.
Object of study are para-Ricci-like solitons on para-Sasaki-like almost paracontact almost paracomplex Riemannian manifolds, briefly, Riemannian $Π$-manifolds. Different cases when the potential of the soliton is the Reeb vector field or pointwise collinear to it are considered. Some additional geometric properties of the constructed objects are proven. Results for a parallel symmetric second-order covariant tensor on the considered manifolds are obtained. Explicit example of dimension 5 in support of the given assertions is provided.
Connections with (skew-symmetric) torsion on non-symmetric Riemannian manifold satisfying the Einstein metricity condition (NGT with torsion) are considered. It is shown that an almost Hermitian manifold is an NGT with torsion if and only if it is a Nearly Kähler manifold. In the case of an almost contact metric manifold the NGT with torsion spaces are characterized and a possibly new class of almost contact metric manifolds is extracted. Similar considerations lead to a definition of a particular classes of almost para-Hermitian and almost paracontact metric manifolds. The conditions are give…
Inspired by the concepts of slant distribution and slant submanifold, with their variants of hemi-slant, semi-slant, bi-slant, or almost bi-slant, we introduce the more general concepts of $k$-slant distribution and $k$-slant submanifold in the settings of an almost Hermitian, an almost product Riemannian, an almost contact metric, and an almost paracontact metric manifold and study some of their properties. We prove that, for any proper $k$-slant distribution in the tangent bundle of a Riemannian manifold, there exists another one in its orthogonal complement, and we establish basic relations…
Relations between conjugate connections with respect to the pair of Norden metrics and to the almost complex structure on almost Norden manifolds are studied. Conjugate connections of the Levi-Civita connections induced by the Norden metrics are obtained. Statistical structures on almost Norden manifolds are considered.
We study the local commutation relation between the Lefschetz operator and the exterior differential on an almost complex manifold with a compatible metric. The identity that we obtain generalizes the backbone of the local Kähler identities to the setting of almost Hermitian manifolds, allowing for new global results for such manifolds.
The object of investigation are the almost contact manifolds with B-metric in the lowest dimension three, constructed on Lie algebras. It is considered a relation between the classes in the Bianchi classification of three-dimensional real Lie algebras and the classes of a classification of the considered manifolds. There are studied some geometrical characteristics in some special classes.
A 4-dimensional Riemannian manifold equipped with a circulant structure, which is an isometry with respect to the metric and its fourth power is the identity, is considered. The almost product manifold associated with the considered manifold is studied. The relation between the covariant derivatives of the almost product structure and the circulant structure is obtained. The conditions for the covariant derivative of the circulant structure, which imply that an almost product manifold belongs to each of the basic classes of the Staikova-Gribachev classification, are given.
Object of investigation are almost hypercomplex manifolds with Hermitian-Norden metrics of the lowest dimension. The considered manifolds are constructed on 4-dimensional Lie groups. It is established a relation between the classes of a classification of 4-dimensional indecomposable real Lie algebras and the classification of the manifolds under study. The basic geometrical characteristics of the constructed manifolds are studied in the frame of the mentioned classification of the Lie algebras.
In this paper the notion of quasi-isometry between two Riemannian manifolds has been introduced. This idea is also imposed to study quasi-isometry between two almost contact metric manifolds. Moving further, some curvature properties of two quasi-isometrically embedded almost contact metric manifolds, $N(k)-$contact metric manifolds and Sasakian manifolds are investigated. Next, an illustrative example of a quasi-isometry between two Sasakian structures is constructed. Finally, a relation between the scalar curvature and the quasi-isometric constants for two quasi-isometric Riemannian manifold…
We study left-invariant generalized Kähler structures on almost abelian Lie groups, i.e., on solvable Lie groups with a codimension-one abelian normal subgroup. In particular, we classify six-dimensional almost abelian Lie groups which admit a left-invariant complex structure and establish which of those have a left-invariant Hermitian structure whose fundamental 2-form is $\partial \bar \partial$-closed. We obtain a classification of six-dimensional generalized Kähler almost abelian Lie groups and determine the 6-dimensional compact almost abelian solvmanifolds admitting an invariant generali…
An almost Golden Riemannian structure $(φ,g)$ on a manifold is given by a tensor field $φ$ of type (1,1) satisfying the Golden section relation $φ^{2}=φ+1$, and a pure Riemannian metric $g$, i.e., a metric satisfying $g(φX,Y)=g(X,φY)$. We study connections adapted to such a structure, finding two of them, the first canonical and the well adapted, which measure the integrability of $φ$ and the integrability of the $G$-structure corresponding to $(φ,g)$.
Our aim is to define and study a structure for some $(4n+3)$-dimensional manifolds which is named almost coquaternion structure. This structure is composed of three almost cocomplex structures $(ϕ_a, ξ_a, η_a)$, $a = 1,2,3$, which satisfy some relations and may be considered as analogous to the almost quaternion structure for $(4n+4)$-dimensional manifolds. The sphere $S^{4n+3}$ is a typical example of differentiable manifold which admits an almost coquaternion structure $(ϕ_a, ξ_a, η_a)$, $a = 1,2,3$. Using the 1-forms $η_a$ of the almost coquaternion structure of the sphere $S^{4n+3}$, C. Te…
This paper explores the relation between the structure of fibre bundles akin to those associated to a closed almost nonnegatively sectionally curved manifold and rational homotopy theory.
We study the relations between the projective and the almost conformally symplectic structures on a smooth even dimensional manifold. We describe these relations by a single almost conformally symplectic connection with totally trace--free torsion sharing the geodesics (up to parametrization) with the projective class. This connection generalizes a (conformally) Fedosov structure depending on the remaining torsion of this distinguished connection. In fact, we see these structures as the almost symplectic analogy of the conformal Riemannian structures, because there is an analogy of the class o…
We analyze the differential relation corresponding to integrability of almost complex structures, reformulated as a directed immersion relation by Demailly and Gaussier. Combining results of Clemente [3], we show that applying h-principle techniques yields the following statement: for an almost complex manifold with arbitrary metric $(X, J, g)$, and for $ε> 0$, there exists a smooth function $f : X \rightarrow \mathbb{R}$ and almost complex structure $J'$ on $X$ such that $J$ and $J'$ are $C^0$-close on the graph of $f$ with respect to the extended metric on $X \times \mathbb{R}$, and such tha…
