Lie groups considered as three-dimensional almost paracontact almost paracomplex Riemannian manifolds are investigated. In each basic class of the classification used for the manifolds under consideration, a correspondence is established between the Lie algebra and the explicit matrix representation of its Lie group.
Almost paracontact almost paracomplex Riemannian manifolds of the lowest dimension 3 are considered. Such structures are constructed on a family of Lie groups and the obtained manifolds are studied. Curvature properties of these manifolds are investigated. An example is commented as support of obtained results.
Almost paracontact almost paracomplex Riemannian manifolds of the lowest dimension are studied. Such structures are constructed on hyperspheres in 4-dimensional spaces, Euclidean and pseudo-Euclidean, respectively. The obtained manifolds are studied and characterised in terms of the classification used and their geometric properties.
Almost paracontact manifolds of an odd dimension having an almost paracomplex structure on the paracontact distribution are studied. The components of the fundamental (0,3)-tensor, derived by the covariant derivative of the structure endomorphism and the metric on the considered manifolds in each of the basic classes, are obtained. Then, the case of the lowest dimension 3 of these manifolds is considered. An associated tensor of the Nijenhuis tensor is introduced and the studied manifolds are characterized with respect to this pair of tensors. Moreover, cases of paracontact and para-Sasakian t…
There are introduced and studied a pair of associated Schouten-van Kampen affine connections adapted to the paracontact distribution and an almost paracontact almost paracomplex Riemannian structure generated by the pair of associated metrics and their Levi-Civita connections. By means of the constructed non-symmetric connections, the basic classes of the manifolds with the considered structure are characterized. Curvature properties of the studied connections are obtained. A family of examples on a Lie group is constructed.
The goal of this paper, using lifting theory it is to produce almost paracomplex struc- tures on the tangent bundle of almost Lorentzian r-paracontact manifold endowed with almost Lorentzian r-paracontact structure. Finally, we discuss the effect over dynamics systems of the produced geometrical structures.
We study real affine hypersurfaces $f\colon M\rightarrow \mathbb{R}^{2n+2}$ with an almost paracontact structure $(φ,ξ,η)$ induced by a $\widetilde{J}$-tangent transversal vector filed, where $\widetilde{J}$ is the canonical paracomplex structure on $\mathbb{R}^{2n+2}$. We give a classification of hypersurfaces for which an induced almost paracontact structure is metric relative to the second fundamental form. Some other properties of such hypersurfaces are also studied.
In this study, taking into considering lifting theory, we shall obtain both almost complex and paracomplex structures on the tangent bun- dle, based on almost Lorentzian r-contact and r-paracontact manifold.
We extract a new class of paracontact paracomplex Riemannian manifolds arising from certain cone construction, call it para-Sasaki-like Riemannian manifold and give explicit examples. We define a hyperbolic extension of a paraholomorphic paracomplex Riemannian manifold, which is a local product of two Riemannian spaces with equal dimensions, showing that it is a para-Sasaki-like Riemannian manifold. If the starting paraholomorphic paracomplex Riemannian manifold is complete Einstein with negative scalar curvature then its hyperbolic extension is a complete Einstein para-Sasaki-like Riemannian …
The object of study is almost paracomplex pseudo-Riemannian manifolds with a pair of metrics associated each other by the almost paracomplex structure. A torsion-free connection and tensors with geometric interpretation are found which are invariant under the twin interchange, i.e. the swap of the counterparts of the pair of associated metrics and the corresponding Levi-Civita connections. A Lie group depending on two real parameters is constructed as an example of a 4-dimensional manifold of the studied type and the mentioned invariant objects are found in an explicit form.
Starting from $g$-natural pseudo-Riemannian metrics of suitable signature on the unit tangent sphere bundle $T_1 M$ of a Riemannian manifold $(M,\langle,\rangle)$, we construct a family of paracontact metric structures. We prove that this class of paracontact metric structures is invariant under $\mathcal D$-homothetic deformations, and classify paraSasakian and paracontact $(κ,μ)$-spaces inside this class. We also present a way to build paracontact $(κ,μ)$-spaces from corresponding contact metric structures on $T_1 M$.
We completely describe paracontact metric three-manifolds whose Reeb vector field satisfies the Ricci soliton equation. While contact Riemannian (or Lorentz\-ian) Ricci solitons are necessarily trivial, that is, $K$-contact and Einstein, the paracontact metric case allows nontrivial examples. Both homogeneous and inhomogeneous nontrivial three-dimensional examples are explicitly described. Finally, we correct the main result of [AGAG-D-13-00189], concerning three-dimensional normal paracontact Ricci solitons.
Reflection in a line in Euclidean 3-space defines an almost paracomplex structure on the space of all oriented lines, isometric with respect to the canonical neutral Kaehler metric. Beyond Euclidean 3-space, the space of oriented geodesics of any real 3-dimensional space form admits both isometric and anti-isometric paracomplex structures. This paper considers the existence or otherwise of isometric and anti-isometric almost paracomplex structures $j$ on a pseudo-Riemannian 4-manifold $(M,g)$, such that $j$ is parallel with respect to the Levi-Civita connection of $g$. It is shown that if an i…
Object of study are para-Ricci-like solitons on para-Sasaki-like almost paracontact almost paracomplex Riemannian manifolds, briefly, Riemannian $Π$-manifolds. Different cases when the potential of the soliton is the Reeb vector field or pointwise collinear to it are considered. Some additional geometric properties of the constructed objects are proven. Results for a parallel symmetric second-order covariant tensor on the considered manifolds are obtained. Explicit example of dimension 5 in support of the given assertions is provided.
Let $(M,g)$ be an n-dimensional Riemannian manifold and $T^{*}M$ be its cotangent bundle equipped with a Riemannian metric of Cheeger Gromoll type which rescale the horizontal part by a nonzero differentiable function. The main purpose of the present paper is to discuss curvature properties of $T^{*}M$ and construct almost paracomplex Norden structures on $T^{*}M$. We investigate conditions for these structures to be para-Kähler (paraholomorphic) and quasi-Kähler. Also, some properties of almost paracomplex Norden structures in context of almost product Riemannian manifolds are presented.
The purpose of the paper is to study Yamabe solitons on three-dimensional para-Sasakian, paracosymplectic and para-Kenmotsu manifolds. Mainly, we proved that *If the semi-Riemannian metric of a three-dimensional para-Sasakian manifold is a Yamabe soliton, then it is of constant scalar curvature, and the flow vector field V is Killing. In the next step, we proved that either manifold has constant curvature -1 and reduces to an Einstein manifold, or V is an infinitesimal automorphism of the paracontact metric structure on the manifold. *If the semi-Riemannian metric of a three-dimensional paraco…
In this paper we consider a manifold $(M,\nabla )$ with a symmetric linear connection $\nabla $ which induces on the cotangent bundle $T^*M$ of $M$ a semi-Riemannian metric $\overline g$ with a neutral signature. The metric $\overline g$ is called natural Riemann extension and it is a generalization (made by M. Sekizawa and O. Kowalski) of the Riemann extension, introduced by E. K. Patterson and A. G. Walker (1952). We construct two almost para-Hermitian structures on $(T^*M,\overline g)$ which are almost para-Kähler or para-Kähler and prove that the defined almost para-complex structures are …
The paper is a complete study of paracontact metric manifolds for which the Reeb vector field of the underlying contact structure satisfies a nullity condition (the condition \eqref{paranullity} below, for some real numbers $% \tildeκ$ and $\tildeμ$). This class of pseudo-Riemannian manifolds, which includes para-Sasakian manifolds, was recently defined in \cite{MOTE}. In this paper we show in fact that there is a kind of duality between those manifolds and contact metric $(κ,μ)$-spaces. In particular, we prove that, under some natural assumption, any such paracontact metric manifold admits a …
Let $(M,g)$ be an $n-$dimensional Riemannian manifold and $T_{1}^{1}(M)$ be its $(1,1)-$tensor bundle equipped with the rescaled Sasaki type metric $% ^{S}g_{f}$ which rescale the horizontal part by a nonzero differentiable function $f$. In the present paper, we discuss curvature properties of the Levi-Civita connection and another metric connection of $T_{1}^{1}(M)$. We construct almost paracomplex Norden structures on $T_{1}^{1}(M)$ and investigate conditions for these structures to be para-Kähler (paraholomorphic) and quasi-Kähler. Also, some properties of almost paracomplex Norden structur…
We show that every paracomplex space form is locally isometric to a modified Riemannian extension and give necessary and sufficient conditions so that a modified Riemannian extension is Einstein. We exhibit Riemannian extension Osserman manifolds of signature (3,3) whose Jacobi operators have non-trivial Jordan normal form and which are not nilpotent. We present new four dimensional results in Osserman geometry.
In monograph of D. E. Blair "Riemannian geometry of contact and symplectic manifolds" and in the paper of S. Zamkovoy "Canonical connections on paracontact manifolds", the curvature identities respectively for contact and paracontact metric manifold are proved. We obtain the curvature identity in the wider class of manifolds, which generalizes results presented in above mentioned publications. Moreover, we present some properties of almost (para)hermitian structure on a special semiproduct of R+ and an almost (para)contact metric manifold. This semiproduct plays an auxiliary role in proving ma…
In this paper we introduce the concept of $(\varepsilon)$-almost paracontact manifolds, and in particular, of $(\varepsilon)$-para Sasakian manifolds. Several examples are presented. Some typical identities for curvature tensor and Ricci tensor of $(\varepsilon)$-para Sasakian manifolds are obtained. We prove that if a semi-Riemannian manifold is one of flat, proper recurrent or proper Ricci-recurrent, then it can not admit an $(\varepsilon)$-para Sasakian structure. We show that, for an $(\varepsilon)$-para Sasakian manifold, the conditions of being symmetric, semi-symmetric or of constant se…
Connections with (skew-symmetric) torsion on non-symmetric Riemannian manifold satisfying the Einstein metricity condition (NGT with torsion) are considered. It is shown that an almost Hermitian manifold is an NGT with torsion if and only if it is a Nearly Kähler manifold. In the case of an almost contact metric manifold the NGT with torsion spaces are characterized and a possibly new class of almost contact metric manifolds is extracted. Similar considerations lead to a definition of a particular classes of almost para-Hermitian and almost paracontact metric manifolds. The conditions are give…
Inspired by the concepts of slant distribution and slant submanifold, with their variants of hemi-slant, semi-slant, bi-slant, or almost bi-slant, we introduce the more general concepts of $k$-slant distribution and $k$-slant submanifold in the settings of an almost Hermitian, an almost product Riemannian, an almost contact metric, and an almost paracontact metric manifold and study some of their properties. We prove that, for any proper $k$-slant distribution in the tangent bundle of a Riemannian manifold, there exists another one in its orthogonal complement, and we establish basic relations…
We investigate the integrability of natural almost complex structures on the twistor space of an almost para-quaternionic manifold as well as the integrability of natural almost paracomplex structures on the reflector space of an almost para-quaternionic manifold constructed with the help of a para-quaternionic connection. We show that if there is an integrable structure it is independent on the para-quaternionic connection. In dimension four, we express the anti-self-duality condition in terms of the Riemannian Ricci forms with respect to the associated para-quaternionic structure.
