In this paper, we study algebraic surfaces of general type with $p_g=q=1$ and genus 2 Albanese fibrations.
We first study the examples of surfaces with $p_g=q=1, K^2=5$ and genus 2 Albanese fibrations constructed by Catanese using singular bidouble covers of $\mathbb{P}^2$. We prove that these surfaces give an irreducible and connected component of $\mathcal{M}_{1,1}^{5,2}$, the Gieseker moduli space of surfaces of general type with $p_g=q=1, K^2=5$ and genus 2 Albanese fibrations.
Then by constructing surfaces with $p_g=q=1,K^2=3$ and a genus 2 Albanese fibration such that the number of the summands of the direct image of the bicanonical sheaf (under the Albanese map) is 2, we give a negative answer to a question of Pignatelli.
We prove that the tetracanonical map of a variety $X$ of maximal Albanese dimension induces the Iitaka fibration. Moreover, if $X$ is of general type, then the tricanonical map is birational.
We study and obtain Slope inequalities for fibred irregular varieties of non-maximal Albanese dimension. We give a comparison theorem between Clifford-Severi and Slope inequalities for this type of fibrations. We also obtain a set of Slope inequalities considering the geometry of the Albanese map and the associated eventual maps.
In this paper, we study the Gieseker moduli space $\mathcal{M}_{1,1}^{4,3}$ of minimal surfaces with $p_g=q=1, K^2=4$ and genus 3 Albanese fibration. Under the assumption that direct image of the canonical sheaf under the Albanese map is decomposable, we find two irreducible components of $\mathcal{M}_{1,1}^{4,3}$, one of dimension 5 and the other of dimension 4.
In this paper we study minimal algebraic surfaces with $p_g=q=1,K^2=4$ and nonhyperelliptic Albanese fibrations of genus 4. We construct for the first time a family of such surfaces as complete intersections of type $(2,3)$ in a $\mathbb{P}^3$-bundle over an elliptic curve. For the surfaces we construct here, the direct image of the canonical sheaf under the Albanese map is decomposable (which is a topological invariant property). Moreover we prove that, all minimal surfaces with $p_g=q=1,K^2=4$ and nonhyperelliptic Albanese fibrations of genus 4 such that the direct image of the canonical she…
Let $f: X \to B$ be a relatively minimal fibration of maximal Albanese dimension from a variety $X$ of dimension $n \ge 2$ to a curve $B$ defined over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. We prove that $K_{X/B}^n \ge 2n! χ_f$, which was conjectured by Barja in [2]. Via the strategy outlined in [5], it also leads to a new proof of the Severi inequality for varieties of maximal Albanese dimension. Moreover, when the equality holds and $χ_f > 0$, we prove that the general fiber $F$ of $f$ has to satisfy the Severi equality that $K_F^{n-1} = 2(n-1)! χ(F, ω_F)$. We also prove some …
We prove a structure theorem for the Albanese maps of varieties with Q-linearly trivial log canonical divisors. Our start point is the action of a nonlinear algebraic group on a projective variety.

We show that any fibration of a 'special' compact K{ä}hler manifold X onto an Abelian variety has no multiple fibre in codimension one. This statement strengthens and extends previous results of Kawamata and Viehweg when $κ$(X) = 0. This also corrects the proof given in [2], 5.3 which was incomplete.
In this paper, we study the structure of Fano fibrations of varieties admitting an int-amplified endomorphism. We prove that if a normal $\mathbb{Q}$-factorial klt projective variety $X$ has an int-amplified endomorphism, then there exists an étale in codimension one finite morphism $\widetilde{X} \to X$ such that $\widetilde{X}$ is of Fano type over its albanese variety. As a corollary, if we further assume that $X$ is smooth and rationally connected, then $X$ is of Fano type.
The cohomological support locus of pluricaonical sheaves and the Iitaka fibration
设$alb_X: X \rightarrow A$是光滑射影簇的Albanese映射,$f: X \rightarrow Y$是$alb_X$的Stein分解的纤维化.对于正整数$m$,如果$f$和$m$满足假设AS(1,2),则平移通过上同调轨迹$V^0(ω_X^m, alb_X)$的所有分量的原点生成$I^*Pic^0(S)$,其中$I: X \rightarrow S$表示Iitaka纤维化。这一结果适用于研究复正则映射。我们还考虑了纤维化是否是等平凡的和同源的产品的问题。
A Kodaira fibration is a non-isotrivial fibration $f\colon S\rightarrow B$ from a smooth algebraic surface $S$ to a smooth algebraic curve $B$ such that all fibers are smooth algebraic curves of genus $g$. Such fibrations arise as complete curves inside the moduli space $\mathcal{M}_g$ of genus $g$ algebraic curves. We investigate here the possible connected monodromy groups of a Kodaira fibration in the case $g=3$ and classify which such groups can arise from a Kodaira fibration obtained as a general complete intersection curve inside a subvariety of $\mathcal{M}_3$ parametrizing curves whose…
In this paper we look for necessary and sufficient conditions for a genus one fibration to have rational curves. We show that a projective variety with log terminal singularities that admits a relatively minimal genus one fibration $X\rightarrow B$ does contain vertical rational curves if and only if it not isomorphic to a finite étale quotient of a product $\tilde{B}\times E$ over $B$. Many sufficient conditions for the existence of rational curves in a variety that admits a genus one fibration are proved in this paper.
We describe the Griffiths group of the product of a curve $C$ and a surface $S$ as a quotient of the Albanese kernel of $S$ over the function field of $C$. When $C$ is a hyperplane section of $S$ varying in a Lefschetz pencil, we prove the nonvanishing in $\text{Griff}(C\times S)$ of a modification of the graph of the embedding $C\hookrightarrow S$ for infinitely many members of the pencil, provided the ground field $k$ is of characteristic $0$, the geometric genus of $S$ is $>0$, and $k$ is large or $S$ is "of motivated abelian type".
In this paper we complete the classification of the elliptic fibrations on K3 surfaces which admit a non-symplectic involution acting trivially on the Néron--Severi group. We use the geometric method introduced by Oguiso and moreover we provide a geometric construction of the fibrations classified. If the non-symplectic involution fixes at least one curve of genus 1, we relate all the elliptic fibrations on the K3 surface with either elliptic fibrations or generalized conic bundles on rational elliptic surfaces. This description allows us to write the Weierstrass equations of the elliptic fibr…
Polarized rational surfaces $(X, \mathcal L)$ of sectional genus two ruled in conics are studied. When they are not minimal, they are described as the blow-up of $\mathbb F_1$ at some points lying on distinct fibers. Ampleness and very ampleness of $\mathcal L$ are studied in terms of their location. When $\mathcal L$ is very ample and there is a line contained in $X$ and transverse to the fibers, the conic fibrations $(X, \mathcal L)$ are classified and a related property concerned with the inflectional locus is discussed.
In this article we study the structure of klt projective varieties with nef anticanonical divisor (and more generally, varieties of semi-Fano type), especially the canonical fibrations associated to them. We show that: 1. the Albanese map for such variety is a locally constant fibration (that is, an analytic fibre bundle with connected fibres that $X$ is equal to the product of the universal cover of the Albanese torus by the fibre of the Albanese map quotient by a diagonal action of the fundamenatl group of the Albanese torus); 2. if the smooth locus is simply connected, the MRC fibration of …
We study K3 surfaces over a number field $k$ which are double covers of extremal rational elliptic surfaces. We provide a list of all elliptic fibrations on certain K3 surfaces together with the degree of a field extension over which each genus one fibration is defined and admits a section. We show that the latter depends, in general, on the action of the cover involution on the fibers of the genus 1 fibration.
The sum of Lyapunov exponents $L_f$ of a semi-stable fibration is the ratio of the degree of the Hodge bundle by the Euler characteristic of the base. This ratio is bounded from above by the Arakelov inequality. Sheng-Li Tan showed that for fiber genus $g\geq 2$ the Arakelov equality is never attained. We investigate whether there are sequences of fibrations approaching asymptotically the Arakelov bound. The answer turns out to be no, if the fibration is smooth, or non-hyperelliptic, or has a small base genus. Moreover, we construct examples of semi-stable fibrations showing that Teichmüller c…
Mendes Lopes and Pardini showed that minimal general type surfaces of Albanese dimension one have slopes $K^2/χ$ dense in the interval $[2,8]$. This result was completed to cover the admissible interval $[2,9]$ by Roulleau and Urzua, who proved that surfaces with fundamental group equal to that of any curve of genus $g \geq 1$ (in particular, having Albanese dimension one) give a set of slopes dense in $[6,9]$. In this note we provide a second construction that complements that of Mendes Lopes-Pardini, to recast a dense set of slopes in $[8,9]$ for surfaces of Albanese dimension one. These sur…
The Horikawa index and the local signature are introduced for relatively minimal fibered surfaces whose general fiber is a non-hyperelliptic curve of genus $4$ with unique trigonal structure.
We systematically analyze the fibration structure of toric hypersurface Calabi-Yau threefolds with large and small Hodge numbers. We show that there are only four such Calabi-Yau threefolds with $h^{1, 1} \geq 140$ or $h^{2, 1} \geq 140$ that do not have manifest elliptic or genus one fibers arising from a fibration of the associated 4D polytope. There is a genus one fibration whenever either Hodge number is 150 or greater, and an elliptic fibration when either Hodge number is 228 or greater. We find that for small $h^{1, 1}$ the fraction of polytopes in the KS database that do not have a genu…
