Given a smooth complex projective variety X, a line bundle L of X an element v of H^1(O_X) and a section s in H^0(L) that deforms to first order in the direction v, we give a sufficient condition on v in terms of Koszul cohomology for this first order deformation to extend to an analytic deformation.
We apply this result to improve known results on the paracanonical system of a variety of maximal Albanese dimension, due to Beauville in the case of surfaces and to Lazarsfeld-Popa in higher dimension. In particular, we prove the inequality p_g(X)>=χ(K_X)+q(X)-1 for a variety X of maximal Albanese dimension without irregular fibrations of Albanese general type.
Let $(X, ω)$ be an n-dimensional compact Kähler manifold. Let $D=\sum (1-β_j) Y_j=\sum (1-β_j) [s_j=0]$ a divisor with simple normal crossings with $β_j \in ]0,1[$ such that $-(K_X+D)$ is nef. We show that its Albanese map is submersion outside an analytic set of codimension larger than two with connected fibres.
In this paper, we study the Albanese morphisms in positive characteristic. We prove that the Albanese morphism of a variety with nef anti-canonical divisor is an algebraic fiber space, under the assumption that the general fiber is $F$-pure. Furthermore, we consider a notion of $F$-splitting for morphisms, and investigate it of the Albanese morphisms. We show that an $F$-split variety has $F$-split Albanese morphism, and that the $F$-split Albanese morphism is an algebraic fiber space. As an application, we provide a new characterization of abelian varieties.

In this article we study the structure of klt projective varieties with nef anticanonical divisor (and more generally, varieties of semi-Fano type), especially the canonical fibrations associated to them. We show that: 1. the Albanese map for such variety is a locally constant fibration (that is, an analytic fibre bundle with connected fibres that $X$ is equal to the product of the universal cover of the Albanese torus by the fibre of the Albanese map quotient by a diagonal action of the fundamenatl group of the Albanese torus); 2. if the smooth locus is simply connected, the MRC fibration of …
We prove a structure theorem for the Albanese maps of varieties with Q-linearly trivial log canonical divisors. Our start point is the action of a nonlinear algebraic group on a projective variety.
We prove a sharp relative Clifford inequality for relatively special divisors on varieties fibered by curves. It generalizes the classical Clifford inequality about a single curve to a family of curves. It yields a geographical inequality for varieties of general type and Albanese-fibered by curves, extending the work of Horikawa, Persson, and Xiao in dimension two to arbitrary dimensions. We also apply it to deduce a slope inequality for some arbitrary dimensional families of curves. It sheds light on the existence of a most general Cornalba-Harris-Xiao type inequality for families of curves.…
We study the deformation theory of rational curves on primitive symplectic varieties and show that if the rational curves cover a divisor, then, as in the smooth case, they deform along their Hodge locus in the universal locally trivial deformation. As applications, we extend Markman's deformation invariance of prime exceptional divisors along their Hodge locus to this singular framework and provide existence results for uniruled ample divisors on primitive symplectic varieties which are locally trivial deformations of any moduli space of semistable objects on a projective $K3$ or fibers of th…
Let $X$ be a projective variety over an algebraically closed field $k$ of arbitrary characteristic $p \ge 0$. A surjective endomorphism $f$ of $X$ is $q$-polarized if $f^\ast H \sim qH$ for some ample Cartier divisor $H$ and integer $q > 1$. Suppose $f$ is separable and $X$ is $\mathbb{Q}$-Gorenstein and normal. We show that the anti-canonical divisor $-K_X$ is numerically equivalent to an effective $\mathbb{Q}$-Cartier divisor, strengthening slightly the conclusion of Boucksom, de Fernex and Favre (Theorem C) and also covering singular varieties over an algebraically closed field of arbitrary…
An endomorphism $f$ of a projective variety X is polarized (resp. quasi-polarized) if $f^*H$ is linearly equivalent to $qH$ for some ample (resp. nef and big) Cartier divisor $H$ and integer $q > 1$. First, we use cone analysis to show that a quasi-polarized endomorphism is always polarized, and the polarized property descends via any equivariant dominant rational map. Next, we show that a suitable maximal rationally connected fibration (MRC) can be made $f$-equivariant using a construction of N. Nakayama, that $f$ descends to a polarized endomorphism of the base Y of this MRC and that this Y …
