We prove that the density of $\frac{X_1+\cdot\cdot\cdot+X_n-nE[X_1]}{\sqrt{n}}$, where $\{X_n\}_{n\geq 1}$ is a sequence of independent and identically distributed random variables taking values on an abstract Wiener space, converges in $\mathcal{L}^1$ to the density of a certain Gaussian measure which is absolutely continuous with respect to the reference Wiener measure. The crucial feature in our investigation is that we do not require the covariance structure of $\{X_n\}_{n\geq 1}$ to coincide with the one of the Wiener measure. This produces a non trivial (different from the constant function one) limiting object which reflects the different covariance structures involved. The present paper generalizes the results proved in [18] and deepens the connection between local limit theorems on (infinite dimensional) Gaussian spaces and some key tools from the Analysis on the Wiener space, like the Wiener-Itô chaos decomposition, Ornstein-Uhlenbeck semigroup and Wick product. We also verify and discuss our main assumptions on some examples arising from the applications: dimension independent Berry-Esseen-type bounds and weak solutions of stochastic differential equations.
A representation for the Kantorovich--Rubinstein distance between probability measures on an abstract Wiener space in terms of the extended stochastic integral (or, divergence) operator is obtained.
The classical representation of random variables as the Ito integral of nonanticipative integrands is extended to include Banach space valued random variables on an abstract Wiener space equipped with a filtration induced by a resolution of the identity on the Cameron-Martin space. The Ito integral is replaced in this case by an extension of the divergence to random operators, and the operators involved in the representation are adapted with respect to this filtration in a suitably defined sense. However, the published paper contains a mistake which restricts the validity of the main result, a…
In an abstract Wiener space setting, we constract a rigorous mathematical model of the one-loop approximation of the perturbative Chern-Simons integral, and derive its explicit asymptotic expansion for stochastic Wilson lines.
We generalize the Beckner's type Poincaré inequality \cite{Beckner} to a large class of probability measures on an abstract Wiener space of the form $μ\starν$, where $μ$ is the reference Gaussian measure and $ν$ is a probability measure satisfying a certain integrability condition. As the Beckner inequality interpolates between the Poincaré and logarithmic Sobolev inequalities, we utilize a family of products for functions which interpolates between the usual point-wise multiplication and the Wick product. Our approach is based on the positivity of a quadratic form involving Wick powers and in…
Using the structure of the Boson-Fermion Fock space and an argument taken from [2], we give a new proof of the triviality of the $L^2$ cohomology groups on an abstract Wiener space, alternative to that given by Shigekawa [9]. We apply some representation theory of the symmetric group to characterise the spaces of exact and co-exact forms in their Boson-Fermion Fock space representation.
In this article, we propose a way to consider processes indexed by a collection $\mathcal{A}$ of subsets of a general set $\mathcal{T}$. A large class of vector spaces, manifolds and continuous $\mathbb{R}$-trees are particular cases. Lattice-theoretic and topological assumptions are considered separately with a view to clarifying the exposition. We then define a Wiener-type integral $Y_A = \int_A f\,\text dX$ for all $A\in\mathcal{A}$ for a deterministic function $f:\mathcal{T} \rightarrow \mathbb{R}$ and a set-indexed Lévy process $X$. It is a particular case of Raput and Rosinski [40], but …
This paper deals with the study of the Malliavin calculus of Euclidean motions on Wiener space, (i.e. transformations induced by general measure preserving transformations, called `rotations', and H-valued shifts) and the associated flows on abstract Wiener spaces
We introduce the concept of functions of locally bounded variation on abstract Wiener spaces and study their properties. Some nontrivial examples and applications to stochastic analysis are also discussed.
We consider the Fokker-Planck equation on the abstract Wiener space associated to the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck operator. Using the Weitzenböck formula, we prove an explicit estimate on the time derivative of the entropy of the solution to the Fokker-Planck equation.
We construct a class of iterated stochastic integrals with respect to Brownian motion on an abstract Wiener space which allows for the definition of Brownian motions on a general class of infinite-dimensional nilpotent Lie groups based on abstract Wiener spaces. We then prove that a Cameron--Martin type quasi-invariance result holds for the associated heat kernel measures in the non-degenerate case, and give estimates on the associated Radon--Nikodym derivative. We also prove that a log Sobolev estimate holds in this setting.
We define, in the frame of an abstract Wiener space, the notions of convexity and of concavity for the equivalence classes of random variables. As application we show that some important inequalities of the finite dimensional case have their natural counterparts in this setting.
In this paper we consider an abstract Wiener space $(X,γ,H)$ and an open subset $O\subseteq X$ which satisfies suitable assumptions. For every $p\in(1,+\infty)$ we define the Sobolev space $W_{0}^{1,p}(O,γ)$ as the closure of Lipschitz continuous functions which support with positive distance from $\partial O$ with respect to the natural Sobolev norm, and we show that under the assumptions on $O$ the space $W_{0}^{1,p}(O,γ)$ can be characterized as the space of functions in $W^{1,p}(O,γ)$ which have null trace at the boundary $\partial O$, or, equivalently, as the space of functions defined on…
We address the Monge problem in the abstract Wiener space and we give an existence result provided both marginal measures are absolutely continuous with respect to the infinite dimensional Gaussian measure γ.
We define a capacity C on abstract Wiener spaces and prove that, for any u with bounded variation, the total variation measure |Du| is absolutely continuous with respect to C: this enables us to extend the usual rules of calculus in many cases dealing with BV functions. As an application, we show that, on the classical Wiener space, the random variable sup_{0\leqt\leqT} W_t admits a measure as second derivative, whose total variation measure is singular w.r.t. the Wiener measure.
The domain of definition of the divergence operator δon an abstract Wiener space (W, H, μ) is extended to include W-valued and W\otimesW-valued "integrands". The main properties and characterizations of this extension are derived and it is shown that in some sense the added elements in δ's extended domain have divergence zero. These results are then applied to the analysis of quasiinvariant flows induced by W-valued vector fields and, among other results, it turns out that these divergence-free vector fields "are responsible" for generating measure preserving flows.
We establish explicit bounds on the convex distance between the distribution of a vector of smooth functionals of a Gaussian field, and that of a normal vector with a positive definite covariance matrix. Our bounds are commensurate to the ones obtained by Nourdin, Peccati and Réveillac (2010) for the (smoother) 1-Wasserstein distance, and do not involve any additional logarithmic factor. One of the main tools exploited in our work is a recursive estimate on the convex distance recently obtained by Schulte and Yukich (2019). We illustrate our abstract results in two different situations: (i) we…
Let $(W,H,μ)$ be an abstract Wiener space and $L$ be a probability density of class LlogL. Using the measure transportation of Monge-Kantorovitch, we prove that the kernel of the projection of L on the second Wiener chaos defines an (Hilbert-Schmidt) operator which is lower bounded by another Hilbert-Schmidt operator.
The model considered is that of ``signal plus white noise.'' Known connections between the noncausal filtering error and mutual information are combined with new ones involving the causal estimation error, in a general abstract setup. The results are shown to be invariant under a wide class of causality patterns; they are applied to the derivation of the causal estimation error of a Gaussian nonstationary filtering problem and to a multidimensional extension of the Yovits--Jackson formula.
We prove a new type of Poincaré inequality on abstract Wiener spaces for a family of probability measures which are absolutely continuous with respect to the reference Gaussian measure. This class of probability measures is characterized by the strong positivity (a notion introduced by Nualart and Zakai in [17]) of their Radon-Nikodym densities. Measures of this type do not belong in general to the class of log-concave measures, which are a wide class of measures satisfying the Poincaré inequality (Brascamp and Lieb [2]). Our approach is based on a point-wise identity relating Wick and ordinar…
We prove a local limit theorem, i.e. a central limit theorem for densities, for a sequence of independent and identically distributed random variables taking values on an abstract Wiener space; the common law of those random variables is assumed to be absolutely continuous with respect to the reference Gaussian measure. We begin by showing that the key roles of scaling operator and convolution product in this infinite dimensional Gaussian framework are played by the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck semigroup and Wick product, respectively. We proceed by establishing a necessary condition on the density of t…
Let (E,H,mu) be an abstract Wiener space and let D_V := VD, where D denotes the Malliavin derivative and V is a closed and densely defined operator from H into another Hilbert space G. Given a bounded operator B on G, coercive on the closure of the range of V, we consider the realisation of the operator D_V* B D_V in L^p(E,mu) for 1<p<\infty. Our main result states that the following assertions are equivalent: (1) dom((sqrt(D_V* B D_V)) = dom(D_V) and Meyer's inequalities hold for D_V* B D_V; (2) D_V D_V* B admits a bounded H-infinity calculus on the closure of the range of D_V; (3) dom(sqrt(V…
We consider the $(1,2)$-Sobolev space $W^{1,2}(U)$ on subsets $U$ in an abstract Wiener space, which is regarded as a canonical Dirichlet space on $U$. We prove that $W^{1,2}(U)$ has smooth cylindrical functions as a dense subset if $U$ is $H$-convex and $H$-open. For the proof, the relations between $H$-notions and quasi-notions are also studied.
In this paper, we study regularity of solutions to linear evolution equations of the form $dX+AXdt=F(t)dt$ in a Banach space $H$, where $A$ is a sectorial operator in $H$ and $A^{-α} F \, (α>0)$ belongs to a weighted Hölder continuous function space. Similar results are obtained for linear evolution equations with additive noise of the form $dX+AXdt=F(t)dt+G(t)dW(t)$ in a separable Hilbert space $H$, where $W(t)$ is a cylindrical Wiener process. Our results are applied to a model arising in neurophysiology, which has been proposed by Walsh \cite{Walsh}.
We provide a disintegration theorem for the Gaussian Radon transform Gf on Banach spaces and use the Segal-Bargmann transform on abstract Wiener spaces to find a procedure to obtain f from its Gaussian Radon transform Gf.
We prove the equivalence of two different types of capacities in abstract Wiener spaces. This yields a criterion for the $L^p$-uniqueness of the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck operator and its integer powers defined on suitable algebras of functions vanishing in a neighborhood of a given closed set $Σ$ of zero Gaussian measure. To prove the equivalence we show the $W^{r,p}(B,μ)$-boundedness of certain smooth nonlinear truncation operators acting on potentials of nonnegative functions. We also give connections to Gaussian Hausdorff measures. Roughly speaking, if $L^p$-uniqueness holds then the 'removed' se…
We construct a perturbation of identity type mapping on an abstract Wiener space where the Cameron-Martin space has an orthonormal basis indexed by the jumps a one dimensional semimartingale. We then derive a change of variables formula and a degree type result for this map.
The Ogawa stochastic integral is shortly reviewed and formulated in the framework of abstract Wiener spaces. The condition of universal Ogawa integrability in the multidimensional case is investigated, proving that it cannot hold in general without the introduction of a "renormalization term". Explicit examples are provided.
In Euclidean space, the integration by parts formula for a set of finite perimeter is expressed by the integration with respect to a type of surface measure. According to geometric measure theory, this surface measure is realized by the one-codimensional Hausdorff measure restricted on the reduced boundary and/or the measure-theoretic boundary, which may be strictly smaller than the topological boundary. In this paper, we discuss the counterpart of this measure in the abstract Wiener space, which is a typical infinite-dimensional space. We introduce the concept of the measure-theoretic boundar…
We prove a generalisation of Fernique's theorem which applies to a class of (measurable) functionals on abstract Wiener spaces by using the isoperimetric inequality. Our motivation comes from rough path theory where one deals with iterated integrals of Gaussian processes (which are generically not Gaussian). Gaussian integrability with explicitly given constants for variation and Hölder norms of the (fractional) Brownian rough path, Gaussian rough paths and the Banach space valued Wiener process enhanced with its Lévy area [Ledoux, Lyons, Quian. "Lévy area of Wiener processes in Banach spaces"…
We study the potential theory of a large class of infinite dimensional Lévy processes, including Brownian motion on abstract Wiener spaces. The key result is the construction of compact Lyapunov functions, i.e. excessive functions with compact level sets. Then many techniques from classical potential theory carry over to this infinite dimensional setting. Thus a number of potential theoretic properties and principles can be proved, answering long standing open problems even for the Brownian motion on abstract Wiener space, as e.g. formulated by R. Carmona in 1980. In particular, we prove the a…
We study the local-in-time regularity of the Brownian motion with respect to localized variants of modulation spaces M^{p, q}_s and Wiener amalgam spaces W^{p, q}_s. We show that the periodic Brownian motion belongs locally in time to M^{p, q}_s (T) and W^{p, q}_s (T) for (s-1)q < -1, and the condition on the indices is optimal. Moreover, with the Wiener measure μon T, we show that (M^{p, q}_s (T), μ) and (W^{p, q}_s (T), μ) form abstract Wiener spaces for the same range of indices, yielding large deviation estimates. We also establish the endpoint regularity of the periodic Brownian motion wi…
We provide an abstract variational existence and uniqueness result for multi-valued, monotone, non-coercive stochastic evolution inclusions in Hilbert spaces with general additive and Wiener multiplicative noise. As examples we discuss certain singular diffusion equations such as the stochastic 1-Laplacian evolution (total variation flow) in all space dimensions and the stochastic singular fast diffusion equation. In case of additive Wiener noise we prove the existence of a unique weak-* mean ergodic invariant measure.
We review and extend Lindsay's work on abstract gradient and divergence operators in Fock space over a general complex Hilbert space. Precise expressions for the domains are given, the $L^2$-equivalence of norms is proved and an abstract version of the Itô-Skorohod isometry is established. We then outline a new proof of Itô's chaos expansion of complex Lévy-Itô space in terms of multiple Wiener-Lévy integrals based on Brownian motion and a compensated Poisson random measure. The duality transform now identifies Lévy-Itô space as a Fock space. We can then easily obtain key properties of the gra…
This paper surveys some results on Wick product and Wick renormalization. The framework is the abstract Wiener space. Some known results on Wick product and Wick renormalization in the white noise analysis framework are presented for classical random variables. Some conditions are described for random variables whose Wick product or whose renormalization are integrable random variables. Relevant results on multiple Wiener integrals, second quantization operator, Malliavin calculus and their relations with the Wick product and Wick renormalization are also briefly presented. A useful tool for W…
This article is concerned with the study of the fractal dimension of thick points for a 4-dimensional Gaussian Free Field. We adopt the definition of Gaussian Free Field on $\R^4$ introduced by Chen and Jakobson (2012) viewed as an abstract Wiener space with underlying Hilbert space $H^2(\R^4)$. We can prove that for $0\leq a \leq 4$ the Hausdorff dimension of the set of $a$-high points is $4-a$. We also show that the set of thick points gives full mass to the 4-dimensional Liouville Quantum Gravity measure.
One way to interpret smoothness of a measure in infinite dimensions is quasi-invariance of the measure under a class of transformations. Usually such settings lack a reference measure such as the Lebesgue or Haar measure, and therefore we can not use smoothness of a density with respect to such a measure. We describe how a functional inequality can be used to prove quasi-invariance results in several settings. In particular, this gives a different proof of the classical Cameron-Martin (Girsanov) theorem for an abstract Wiener space. In addition, we revisit several more geometric examples, even…
For a compact convex set $K$ and a Poisson point process $η$, the union of all Voronoi cells with a nucleus in $K$ is the Poisson-Voronoi approximation of $K$. Lower and upper bounds for the variance and a central limit theorem for the volume of the Poisson-Voronoi approximation are shown. The proofs make use of so called Wiener-Itô chaos expansions and the central limit theorem is based on a more abstract central limit theorem for Poisson functionals, which is also derived.
In this paper, Monge-Kantorovich problem is considered in the infinite dimension on an abstract Wiener space $(W, H,μ)$, where $H$ is Cameron-Martin space and $μ$ is the Gaussian measure. We study the regularity of optimal transport maps with a quadratic cost function assuming that both initial and target measures have a strictly positive Radon-Nikodym density with respect to $μ$. Under conditions on the density functions, the forward and backward transport maps can be written in terms of Sobolev derivative of so-called Monge-Brenier maps, or Monge potentials. We show Sobolev regularity of the…
This work contributes to the limited literature on estimating the diffusivity or drift coefficient of nonlinear SPDEs driven by additive noise. Assuming that the solution is measured locally in space and over a finite time interval, we show that the augmented maximum likelihood estimator introduced in Altmeyer, Reiss (2020) retains its asymptotic properties when used for semilinear SPDEs that satisfy some abstract, and verifiable, conditions. The proofs of asymptotic results are based on splitting the solution in linear and nonlinear parts and fine regularity properties in $L^p$-spaces. The ob…
The classical Kubo-Martin-Schwinger (KMS) condition is a fundamental property of statistical mechanics characterizing the equilibrium of infinite classical mechanical systems. It was introduced in the seventies by G. Gallavotti and E. Verboven as an alternative to the Dobrushin-Lanford-Ruelle (DLR) equation. In this article, we consider this concept in the framework of nonlinear Hamiltonian PDEs and discuss its relevance. In particular, we prove that Gibbs measures are the unique KMS equilibrium states for such systems. Our proof is based on Malliavin calculus and Gross-Sobolev spaces. The mai…
In this paper we are interested in the numerical approximation of the marginal distributions of the Hilbert space valued solution of a stochastic Volterra equation driven by an additive Gaussian noise. This equation can be written in the abstract Itô form as $$ \dd X(t) + \left (\int_0^t b(t-s) A X(s) \, \dd s \right) \, \dd t = \dd W^{_Q}(t), t\in (0,T]; ~ X(0) =X_0\in H, $$ \noindent where $W^Q$ is a $Q$-Wiener process on the Hilbert space $H$ and where the time kernel $b$ is the locally integrable potential $t^{ρ-2}$, $ρ\in (1,2)$, or slightly more general. The operator $A$ is unbounded, li…
