Let $H$ be a finite dimensional semisimple Hopf algebra, $A$ a differential graded (dg for short) $H$-module algebra. Then the smash product algebra $A\#H$ is a dg algebra. For any dg $A\#H$-module $M$, there is a quasi-isomorphism of dg algebras: $\mathrm{RHom}_A(M,M)\#H\longrightarrow \mathrm{RHom}_{A\#H}(M\ot H,M\ot H)$. This result is applied to $d$-Koszul algebras, Calabi-Yau algebras and AS-Gorenstein dg algebras
We study Doi-Hopf data and Doi-Hopf modules for Hopf group-coalgebras. We introduce modules graded by a discrete Doi-Hopf datum; to a Doi-Hopf datum over a Hopf group coalgebra, we associate an algebra graded by the underlying discrete Doi-Hopf datum, using a smash product type construction. The category of Doi-Hopf modules is then isomorphic to the category of graded modules over this algebra. This is applied to the category of Yetter-Drinfeld modules over a Hopf group coalgebra, leading to the construction of the Drinfeld double. It is shown that this Drinfeld double is a quasitriangular gra…
In this paper, the so-called differential graded (DG for short) Poisson Hopf algebra is introduced, which can be considered as a natural extension of Poisson Hopf algebras in the differential graded setting. The structures on the universal enveloping algebras of differential graded Poisson Hopf algebras are discussed.
Let $H$ be a connected graded Hopf algebra over a field of characteristic zero and $K$ an arbitrary graded Hopf subalgebra of $H$. We show that there is a family of homogeneous elements of $H$ and a total order on the index set that satisfy several desirable conditions, which reveal some interesting connections between $H$ and $K$. As one of its consequences, we see that $H$ is a graded iterated Hopf Ore extension of $K$ of derivation type provided that $H$ is of finite Gelfand-Kirillov dimension. The main tool of this work is Lyndon words, along the idea developed by Lu, Shen and the second-n…
Firstly, we introduce a class of new algebraic systems which generalize Hopf quasigroups and Hopf $π-$algebras called $Q$-graded Hopf quasigroups, and research some properties of them. Secondly, we define the representations of $Q$-graded Hopf quasigroups, i.e $Q$-graded Hopf quasimodules, research the construction method and fundamental theorem of them. Thirdly, we research the smash products of $Q$-graded Hopf quasigroups.
Let $H$ be a finite dimensional Hopf algebra, and let $A$ be a left $H$-module algebra. Motivated by the study of the isolated singularities of $A^H$ and the endomorphism ring $\mathrm{End}_{A^H}(A)$, we introduce the concept of Hopf dense Galois extensions in this paper. Hopf dense Galois extensions yield certain equivalences between the quotient categories over $A$ and $A^H$. A special class of Hopf dense Galois extensions consits of the so-called densely group graded algebras, which are weaker versions of strongly graded algebras. A weaker version of Dade's Theorem holds for densely group g…
We first prove that a graded, connected, free and cofree Hopf algebra is always self-dual; then that two graded, connected, free and cofree Hopf algebras are isomorphic if, and only if, they have the same Poincaré-Hilbert formal series. If the characteristic of the base field is zero, we prove that the Lie algebra of the primitive elements of such an object is free, and we deduce a characterization of the formal series of free and cofree Hopf algebras by a condition of growth of the coefficients. We finally show that two graded, connected, free and cofree Hopf algebras are isomorphic as (non g…
We introduce the concept of a covering of a graded pointed Hopf algebra. The theory developed shows that coverings of a bosonized Nichols algebra can be concretely expressed by biproducts using a quotient of the universal coalgebra covering group of the Nichols algebra. If there are enough quadratic relations, the universal coalgebra covering is given by the bosonization by the enveloping group of the underlying rack.
In establishing a more general version of the McKay correspondence, we prove Auslander's theorem for actions of semisimple Hopf algebras H on noncommutative Artin-Schelter regular algebras A of global dimension two, where A is a graded H-module algebra, and the Hopf action on A is inner faithful with trivial homological determinant. We also show that each fixed ring A^H under such an action arises an analogue of a coordinate ring of a Kleinian singularity.
It is well-known that the category of comodules over a flat Hopf algebroid is abelian but typically fails to have enough projectives, and more generally, the category of graded comodules over a graded flat Hopf algebroid is abelian but typically fails to have enough projectives. In this short paper we prove that the category of connective graded comodules over a connective, graded, flat, finite-type Hopf algebroid has enough projectives. Applications to algebraic topology are given: the Hopf algebroids of stable co-operations in complex bordism, Brown-Peterson homology, and classical mod $p$ h…
The purpose of this paper is two fold: we study the behaviour of the forgetful functor from S-modules to graded vector spaces in the context of algebras over an operad and derive from this theory the construction of combinatorial Hopf algebras. As a byproduct we obtain freeness and cofreeness results for these Hopf algebras. Let O denote the forgetful functor from S-modules to graded vector spaces. Left modules over an operad P are treated as P-algebras in the category of S-modules. We generalize the results obtained by Patras and Reutenauer in the associative case to any operad P: the functor…
In this paper, we establish a structure theorem for connected graded Hopf algebras over a field of characteristic $0$ by claiming the existence of a family of homogeneous generators and a total order on the index set that satisfy some desirable conditions. The approach to the structure theorem is constructive, based on the combinatorial properties of Lyndon words and the standard bracketing on words. As a surprising consequence of the structure theorem, we show that connected graded Hopf algebras of finite Gelfand-Kirillov dimension over a field of characteristic $0$ are all iterated Hopf Ore …
We continue our study of the McKay Correspondence for grading preserving actions of semisimple Hopf algebras H on (noncommutative) Artin-Schelter regular algebras A. Here, we establish correspondences between module categories over A^H, over A\#H, and over \End_{A^H} A. We also study homological properties of (endomorphism rings of) maximal Cohen-Macaulay modules over A^H.
We study algebraic and homological properties of two classes of infinite dimensional Hopf algebras over an algebraically closed field k of characteristic zero. The first class consists of those Hopf k-algebras that are connected graded as algebras, and the second class are those Hopf k-algebras that are connected as coalgebras. For many but not all of the results presented here, the Hopf algebras are assumed to have finite Gel'fand-Kirillov dimension. It is shown that if the Hopf algebra H is a connected graded algebra of finite Gel'fand-Kirillov dimension n, then H is a noetherian domain whic…
Let $k_q[x, x^{-1}, y]$ be the localization of the quantum plane $k_q[x, y]$ over a field $k$, where $0\neq q\in k$. Then $k_q[x, x^{-1}, y]$ is a graded Hopf algebra, which can be regarded as the non-negative part of the quantum enveloping algebra $U_q({\mathfrak sl}_2)$. Under the assumption that $q$ is not a root of unity, we investigate the coalgebra automorphism group of $k_q[x, x^{-1}, y]$. We describe the structures of the graded coalgebra automorphism group and the coalgebra automorphism group of $k_q[x, x^{-1}, y]$, respectively.
We develop Hopf-Galois theory for weak Hopf algebras, and recover analogs of classical results for Hopf algebras. Our methods are based on the recently introduced Galois theory for corings. We focus on the situatation where the weak Hopf algebra is a groupoid algebra or its dual. We obtain weak versions of strongly graded rings, and classical Galois extensions.
The Adams operators $Ψ_n$ on a Hopf algebra $H$ are the convolution powers of the identity of $H$. We study the Adams operators when $H$ is graded connected. They are also called Hopf powers or Sweedler powers. The main result is a complete description of the characteristic polynomial (both eigenvalues and their multiplicities) for the action of the operator $Ψ_n$ on each homogeneous component of $H$. The eigenvalues are powers of $n$. The multiplicities are independent of $n$, and in fact only depend on the dimension sequence of $H$. These results apply in particular to the antipode of $H$ (t…
For any graded bialgebras $A$ and $B$, we define a commutative graded algebra $A_B$ representing the functor of $B$-representations of $A$. When $A$ is a cocommutative graded Hopf algebra and $B$ is a commutative ungraded Hopf algebra, we introduce a method deriving a Gerstenhaber bracket in $A_B$ from a Fox pairing in $A$ and a balanced biderivation in $B$. Our construction is inspired by Van den Bergh's non-commutative Poisson geometry, and may be viewed as an algebraic generalization of the Atiyah--Bott--Goldman Poisson structures on moduli spaces of representations of surface groups.
We study finite dimensional semisimple Hopf algebra actions on noetherian connected graded Artin-Schelter regular algebras, and introduce definitions of the Jacobian, the reflection arrangement and the discriminant in a noncommutative setting.
Let $H$ be a pointed Hopf algebra. We show that under some mild assumptions $H$ and its associated graded Hopf algebra $\gr H$ have the same Gelfand-Kirillov dimension. As an application, we prove that the Gelfand-Kirillov dimension of a connected Hopf algebra is either infinity or a positive integer. We also classify connected Hopf algebras of GK-dimension three over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero.
In this paper, we consider graded associative conformal algebras. The class of these objects includes pseudo-algebras over non-cocommutative Hopf algebras of regular functions on some linear algebraic groups. In particular, an associative conformal algebra which is graded by a finite group $Γ$ is a pseudo-algebra over the coordinate Hopf algebra of a linear algebraic group $G$ such that the identity component $G^0$ is the affine line and $G/G^0\simeq Γ$. A classification of simple and semisimple graded associative conformal algebras of finite type is obtained.
We gives examples of Com-PreLie bialgebras, that is to say bialgebras with a preLie product satisfying certain compatibilities. Three families are defined on shuffle algebras: one associated to linear endomorphisms, one associated to linear form, one associated to preLie algebras. We also give all graded preLie product on K[X], making this bialgebra a Com-PreLie bialgebra, and classify all connected cocommutative Com-PreLie bialgebras.
In this paper, we introduce the notion of differential graded Poisson algebra and study its universal enveloping algebra. From any differential graded Poisson algebra $A$, we construct two isomorphic differential graded algebras: $A^e$ and $A^E$. It is proved that the category of differential graded Poisson modules over $A$ is isomorphic to the category of differential graded modules over $A^e$, and $A^e$ is the unique universal enveloping algebra of $A$ up to isomorphisms. As applications of the universal property of $A^e$, we prove that $(A^e)^{op}\cong (A^{op})^e$ and $(A\otimes_{\Bbbk}B)^e…
We develop a theory of multigraded (i.e., $N^l$-graded) combinatorial Hopf algebras modeled on the theory of graded combinatorial Hopf algebras developed by Aguiar, Bergeron, and Sottile [Compos. Math. 142 (2006), 1--30]. In particular we introduce the notion of canonical $k$-odd and $k$-even subalgebras associated with any multigraded combinatorial Hopf algebra, extending simultaneously the work of Aguiar et al. and Ehrenborg. Among our results are specific categorical results for higher level quasisymmetric functions, several basis change formulas, and a generalization of the descents-to-pea…
In this article we revisit the theory of homotopic Hopf-Galois extensions introduced in arXiv:0902.3393v2 [math.AT], in light of the homotopical Morita theory of comodules established in arXiv:1411.6517 [math.AT]. We generalize the theory to a relative framework, which we believe is new even in the classical context and which is essential for treating the Hopf-Galois correspondence in forthcoming work of the second author and Karpova. We study in detail homotopic Hopf-Galois extensions of differential graded algebras over a commutative ring, for which we establish a descent-type characterizati…
Two-dimensional integrable differential calculi for classes of Ore extensions of the polynomial ring and the Laurent polynomial ring in one variable are constructed. Thus it is concluded that all affine pointed Hopf domains of Gelfand-Kirillov dimension two which are not polynomial identity rings are differentially smooth.
Let A and B be two connected graded commutative k-algebras of finite type, where k is a perfect field of positive characteristic p. We prove that the quasi--shuffle algebras generated by A and B are isomorphic as Hopf algebras if and only if A and B are isomorphic as graded k-vector spaces equipped with a Frobenius (pth-power) map. For the hardest part of this analysis, we work with the dual construction, and are led to study connected graded cocommutative Hopf algebras H with two additional properties: H is free as an associative algebra, and the projection onto the indecomposables is split a…
Let R and S be differential graded algebras. In this paper we give a characterisation of when a differential graded R-S-bimodule M induces a full embedding of derived categories M\otimes - :D(S)--> D(R). In particular, this characterisation generalises the theory of Geigle and Lenzing's homological epimorphisms of rings. Furthermore, there is an application of the main result to Dwyer and Greenlees's Morita theory.
We consider Frobenius algebras in the monoidal category of right comodules over a Hopf algebra $H$. If $H$ is a group Hopf algebra, we study a more general Frobenius type property and uncover the structure of graded Frobenius algebras. Graded symmetric algebras are also investigated.
For $G$ a finite abelian group, we study the properties of general equivalence relations on $G_n=G^n\rtimes \SG_n$, the wreath product of $G$ with the symmetric group $\SG_n$, also known as the $G$-coloured symmetric group. We show that under certain conditions, some equivalence relations give rise to subalgebras of $\k G_n$ as well as graded connected Hopf subalgebras of $\bigoplus_{n\ge o} \k G_n$. In particular we construct a $G$-coloured peak subalgebra of the Mantaci-Reutenauer algebra (or $G$-coloured descent algebra). We show that the direct sum of the $G$-coloured peak algebras is a Ho…
In this article character groups of Hopf algebras are studied from the perspective of infinite-dimensional Lie theory. For a graded and connected Hopf algebra we construct an infinite-dimensional Lie group structure on the character group with values in a locally convex algebra. This structure turns the character group into a Baker--Campbell--Hausdorff--Lie group which is regular in the sense of Milnor. Furthermore, we show that certain subgroups associated to Hopf ideals become closed Lie subgroups of the character group. If the Hopf algebra is not graded, its character group will in general …
Let H be a differential graded Hopf algebra over a field k. This paper gives an explicit construction of a triple cochain complex that defines the Hochschild-Cartier cohomology of H. A certain truncation of this complex is the appropriate setting for deforming H as an H(q)-structure. The direct limit of all such truncations is the appropriate setting for deforming H as a strongly homotopy associative structure. Sign complications are systematically controlled. The connection between rational perturbation theory and the deformation theory of certain free commutative differential graded algebras…
Every finite dimensional Hopf algebra is a Frobenius algebra, with Frobenius homomorphism given by an integral. The Nakayama automorphism determined by it yields a decomposition with degrees in a cyclic group. For a family of pointed Hopf algebras, we determine necessary and sufficient conditions for this decomposition to be strongly graded.
We classify graded Hopf algebras structures over path coalgebras, that is over free pointed coalgebras, using Hopf quivers which are analogous to Cayley graphs. The description involves formulas for the product besides the canonical formulas for the coproduct. This makes explicit the quantum shuffle product making use of natural elements in a Hopf bimodule having a simple "geometrical" interpretation in the quiver sense, rather than working systematically with right or left coinvariants.
Motivated by the Hopf algebra structures established on free commutative Rota-Baxter algebras, we explore Hopf algebra related structures on free commutative Nijenhuis algebras. Applying a cocycle condition, we first prove that a free commutative Nijenhuis algebra on a left counital bialgebra (in the sense that the right-sided counicity needs not hold) can be enriched to a left counital bialgebra. We then establish a general result that a connected graded left counital bialgebra is a left counital right antipode Hopf algebra in the sense that the antipode is also only right-sided. We finally a…
A combinatorial interpretation is given of Devlin's word problem underlying the classical center-focus problem of Poincare for non-autonomous differential equations. It turns out that the canonical polynomials of Devlin are from the point of view of connected graded Hopf algebras intimately related to the graded components of a Hopf algebra antipode applied to the formal power series of Ferfera. The link is made by passing through control theory since the Abel equation, which describes a center, is equivalent to an output feedback equation, and the Hopf algebra of output feedback is derived fr…
We compute the Hochschild and Gerstenhaber-Schack cohomological dimensions of the universal cosovereign Hopf algebras, when the matrix of parameters is a generic asymmetry. Our main tools are considerations on the cohomologies of free product of Hopf algebras, and on the invariance of the cohomological dimensions under graded twisting by a finite abelian group.
In this work a combinatorial description is provided of a Faa di Bruno type Hopf algebra which naturally appears in the context of Fliess operators in nonlinear feedback control theory. It is a connected graded commutative and non-cocommutative Hopf algebra defined on rooted circle trees. A cancellation free forest formula for its antipode is given.
We classify exact indecomposable module categories over the representation category of all non-trivial Hopf algebras with coradical S_3 and S_4. As a byproduct, we compute all its Hopf-Galois extensions and we show that these Hopf algebras are cocycle deformations of their graded versions.
We generalize the notion, introduced by Henri Cartan, of an operation of a Lie algebra $\mathfrak g$ in a graded differential algebra $Ω$. We define the notion of an operation of a Hopf algebra $\mathcal H$ in a graded differential algebra $Ω$ which is refered to as a $\mathcal H$-operation. We then generalize for such an operation the notion of algebraic connection. Finally we discuss the corresponding noncommutative version of the Weil algebra: The Weil algebra $W(\mathcal H)$ of the Hopf algebra $\mathcal H$ is the universal initial object of the category of $\mathcal H$-operations with con…
Parabosonic algebra in finite or infinite degrees of freedom is considered as a $\mathbb{Z}_{2}$-graded associative algebra, and is shown to be a $\mathbb{Z}_{2}$-graded (or: super) Hopf algebra. The super-Hopf algebraic structure of the parabosonic algebra is established directly without appealing to its relation to the $osp(1/2n)$ Lie superalgebraic structure. The notion of super-Hopf algebra is equivalently described as a Hopf algebra in the braided monoidal category ${}_{\mathbb{CZ}_{2}}\mathcal{M}$. The bosonisation technique for switching a Hopf algebra in the braided monoidal category $…
We show that any finite-dimensional pointed Hopf algebra over an abelian group $Γ$ such that its infinitesimal braiding is of standard type is generated by group-like and skew-primitive elements. This fact agrees with the long-standing conjecture by Andruskiewitsch and Schneider. We also show that the quantum Serre relations hold in any coradically graded pointed Hopf algebra over $Γ$ of finite dimension and determine how these relations are lifted in the standard case.
We study actions of pointed Hopf algebras in the $\ZZ$-graded setting. Our main result classifies inner-faithful actions of generalized Taft algebras on quantum generalized Weyl algebras which respect the $\ZZ$-grading. We also show that generically the invariant rings of Taft actions on quantum generalized Weyl algebras are commutative Kleinian singularities.
This article serves a two-fold purpose. On the one hand, it is a survey about the classification of finite-dimensional pointed Hopf algebras with abelian coradical, whose final step is the computation of the liftings or deformations of graded Hopf algebras. On the other, we present a step-by-step guide to carry out the strategy developed to construct the liftings. As an example, we conclude the work with the classification of pointed Hopf algebras of type $B_2$.
The graph algebra is a commutative, cocommutative, graded, connected incidence Hopf algebra, whose basis elements correspond to finite simple graphs and whose Hopf product and coproduct admit simple combinatorial descriptions. We give a new formula for the antipode in the graph algebra in terms of acyclic orientations; our formula contains many fewer terms than Takeuchi's and Schmitt's more general formulas for the antipode in an incidence Hopf algebra. Applications include several formulas (some old and some new) for evaluations of the Tutte polynomial.
The effectiveness of the aplication of constructions in $G$-graded $k$-categories to the computation of the fundamental group of a finite dimensional $k$-algebra, alongside with open problems still left untouched by those methods and new problems arisen from the introduction of the concept of fundamental group of a $k$-linear category, motivated the investigation of $H$-module categories, i.e., actions of a Hopf algebra $H$ on a $k$-linear category. The $G$-graded case corresponds then to actions of the Hopf algebra $k^G$ on a $k$-linear category. In this work we take a step further and introd…
We give explicit formulas for maps in a long exact sequence connecting bialgebra cohomology to Hochschild cohomology. We give a sufficient condition for the connecting homomorphism to be surjective. We apply these results to compute all bialgebra two-cocycles of certain Radford biproducts (bosonizations). These two-cocycles are precisely those associated to the finite dimensional pointed Hopf algebras in the recent classification of Andruskiewitsch and Schneider, in an interpretation of these Hopf algebras as graded bialgebra deformations of Radford biproducts.
Many related products and coproducts (e.g. Hadamard, Cauchy, Kronecker, induction, internal, external, Solomon, composition, Malvenuto-Reutenauer, convolution, etc.) have been defined in the following objects : species, representations of the symmetric groups, symmetric functions, endomorphisms of graded connected Hopf algebras, permutations, non-commutative symmetric functions, quasi-symmetric functions, etc. With the purpose of simplifying and unifying this diversity we introduce yet, another -non graded- product the Heisenberg product, that for the highest and lowest degrees produces the cl…
Let $H$ be a Hopf algebra, $A/B$ be an $H$-Galois extension. Let $D(A)$ and $D(B)$ be the derived categories of right $A$-modules and of right $B$-modules respectively. An object $M^\cdot\in D(A)$ may be regarded as an object in $D(B)$ via the restriction functor. We discuss the relations of the derived endomorphism rings $E_A(M^\cdot)=\op_{i\in\mathbb{Z}}\Hom_{D(A)}(M^\cdot,M^\cdot[i])$ and $E_B(M^\cdot)=\op_{i\in\mathbb{Z}}\Hom_{D(B)}(M^\cdot,M^\cdot[i])$. If $H$ is a finite dimensional semisimple Hopf algebra, then $E_A(M^\cdot)$ is a graded subalgebra of $E_B(M^\cdot)$. In particular, if $…
Let $H$ be a finite-dimensional connected Hopf algebra over an algebraically closed field $\field$ of characteristic $p>0$. We provide the algebra structure of the associated graded Hopf algebra $\gr H$. Then, we study the case when $H$ is generated by a Hopf subalgebra $K$ and another element and the case when $H$ is cocommutative. When $H$ is a restricted universal enveloping algebra, we give a specific basis for the second term of the Hochschild cohomology of the coalgebra $H$ with coefficients in the trivial $H$-bicomodule $\field$. Finally, we classify all connected Hopf algebras of dimen…
