The finite dimensional simple modular Lie algebras with Cartan matrix cannot be deformed if the characteristic p of the ground field is equal to 0 or greater than 3. If p=3, the orthogonal Lie algebra o(5)is one of the two simple modular Lie algebras with Cartan matrix that have deformations (the Brown algebras br(2; a) are among these 10-dimensional deforms and hence are not counted separately); the 29-dimensional Brown algebra br(3) is the only other simple Lie algebra with Cartan matrix that has deformations. Kostrikin and Kuznetsov described the orbits (isomorphism classes) under the action of the group O(5) of automorphisms of o(5) on the space H^2(o(5);o(5)) and produced representatives of the isomorphism classes. Here we explicitly describe global deforms of o(5) and of the simple analog of this orthogonal Lie algebra in characteristic 2.
In this work it is considered the vector space composed by the infinitesimal deformations of the model $\mathbb{Z}_3$-filiform Lie algebra $L^{n,m,p}$. By using these deformations all the $\mathbb{Z}_3$-filiform Lie algebras can be obtained, hence the importance of these deformations. The results obtained in this work together to those obtained in [Integrable deformations of nilpotent color Lie superalgebras, J. Geom. Phys. 61(2011)1797-1808] and [Corrigendum to Integrable deformations of nilpotent color Lie superalgebras, J. Geom. Phys. 62(2012)1571], leads to compute the total dimension of t…
In this work infinitesimal deformations of the model filiform $\mathbb{Z}_2 \times \mathbb{Z}_2$-color Lie superalgebra have been studied. All the filiform $\mathbb{Z}_2 \times \mathbb{Z}_2$-color Lie superalgebras can be obtained by means of infinitesimal deformations, hence the importance of these. Thus, in particular, we give a family of filiform $\mathbb{Z}_2 \times \mathbb{Z}_2$-color Lie superalgebras via linearly integrable deformations.
In this paper we introduce generalized Spencer cohomology for finite depth Z-graded Lie (super)algebras. We develop a method of finding filtered deformations of such Z-graded Lie (super)algebras based on this cohomology. As an application we determine all simple filtered deformations of certain Z-graded Lie superalgebras classified in [K3], thus completing the last step in the classification of simple infinite-dimensional linearly compact Lie superalgebras.
We describe the infinitesimal deformations of the standard embedding of the Lie superalgebra $D(2, 1 ; α)$ into the Poisson superalgebra of pseudodifferential symbols on $S^{1|2}$. We show that for the standard embedding of $D(2, 1 ; α)$ into the Poisson superalgebra of differential operators on $S^{1|2}$, the infinitesimal deformations correspond to formal deformations. For the embedding of $D(2, 1 ; α)$ into the derived contact superconformal algebra ${K}'(4)$, the infinitesimal deformations are formal deformations.
The deformation theory of Lie-Yamaguti algebras is developed by choosing a suitable cohomology. The relationship between the deformation and the obstruction of Lie-Yamaguti algebras is obtained.
We classify kinematical Lie algebras in dimension $D \geq 4$. This is approached via the classification of deformations of the relevant static kinematical Lie algebra. We also classify the deformations of the universal central extension of the static kinematical Lie algebra in dimension $D\geq 4$. In addition we determine which of these Lie algebras admit an invariant inner product.
We study formal deformations of hom-Lie-Rinehart algebras. The associated deformation cohomology that controls deformations is constructed using multiderivations of hom-Lie-Rinehart algebras.
We present a deformation theory approach to the classification of kinematical Lie algebras in 3+1 dimensions and present calculations leading to the classifications of all deformations of the static kinematical Lie algebra and of its universal central extension, up to isomorphism. In addition we determine which of these Lie algebras admit an invariant symmetric inner product. Among the new results, we find some deformations of the centrally extended static kinematical Lie algebra which are extensions (but not central) of deformations of the static kinematical Lie algebra. This paper lays the g…
In this paper we study metric deformations of indecomposable metric Lie superalgebras with dimensions less or equal to 6. We consider formal deformations obtained by even cocycles, because the odd ones can not be used for constructing formal deformations.
We study the moduli space of four dimensional ordinary Lie algebras, and their versal deformations. Their classification is well known; our focus in this paper is on the deformations, which yield a picture of how the moduli space is assembled. Surprisingly, we get a nice geometric description of this moduli space essentially as an orbifold, with just a few exceptional points.
In this paper, we establish the cohomology of relative Rota-Baxter operators on Lie-Yamaguti algebras via the Yamaguti cohomology. Then we use this type of cohomology to characterize deformations of relative Rota-Baxter operators on Lie-Yamaguti algebras. We show that if two linear or formal deformations of a relative Rota-Baxter operator are equivalent, then their infinitesimals are in the same cohomology class in the first cohomology group. Moreover, an order $n$ deformation of a relative Rota-Baxter operator can be extended to an order $n+1$ deformation if and only if the obstruction class …
In this paper, we consider deformations of Lie 2-algebras via the cohomology theory. We prove that a 1-parameter infinitesimal deformation of a Lie 2-algebra $\g$ corresponds to a 2-cocycle of $\g$ with the coefficients in the adjoint representation. The Nijenhuis operator for Lie 2-algebras is introduced to describe trivial deformations. We also study abelian extensions of Lie 2-algebras from the viewpoint of deformations of semidirect product Lie 2-algebras.
In this paper, we introduce the relevant concepts of $n$-ary multiplicative Hom-Nambu-Lie superalgebras and construct three classes of $n$-ary multiplicative Hom-Nambu-Lie superalgebras. As a generalization of the notion of derivations for $n$-ary multiplicative Hom-Nambu-Lie algebras, we discuss the derivations of $n$-ary multiplicative Hom-Nambu-Lie superalgebras. In addition, the theory of one parameter formal deformation of $n$-ary multiplicative Hom-Nambu-Lie superalgebras is developed by choosing a suitable cohomology.
This thesis deals with deformations of VB-algebroids and VB-groupoids. They can be considered as vector bundles in the categories of Lie algebroids and groupoids and encompass several classical objects, including Lie algebra and Lie group representations, 2-vector spaces and the tangent and the cotangent algebroid (groupoid) to a Lie algebroid (groupoid). Moreover, they are geometric models for some kind of representations of Lie algebroids (groupoids), namely 2-term representations up to homotopy. Finally, it is well known that Lie groupoids are "concrete" incarnations of differentiable stack…
This article gives a brief introduction to some recent work on deformation and homotopy theories of Rota-Baxter operators and more generally $\mathcal{O}$-operators on Lie algebras, by means of the differential graded Lie algebra approach. It is further shown that these theories lift the existing connection between $\mathcal{O}$-operators and pre-Lie algebras to the levels of deformations and homotopy.
The aim of this paper is to provide a cohomology of $n$-Hom-Lie color algebras governing one parameter formal deformations. Then, we study formal deformations of a $n$-Hom-Lie color algebra and introduce the notion of Nijenhuis operator on an $n$-Hom-Lie color algebra, which could give rise to infinitesimally trivial $(n-1)$-order deformations. Furthermore, in connection with Nijenhuis operators we introduce and discuss the notion of a product structure on $n$-Hom-Lie color algebras.
We consider deformations of left-invariant complex structures on simply connected semisimple compact Lie groups which are a priori non-invariant. Computing their cohomologies, we show that they are not actually biholomorphic to left-invariant (right-invariant) complex structures.
In this paper, we consider the versal deformations of three dimensional Lie algebras. We classify Lie algebras and study their deformations by using linear algebra techniques to study the cohomology. We will focus on how the deformations glue the space of all such structures together. This space is known as the moduli space. We will give a geometric description of this space, derived from deformation theory, in order to illustrate general features of moduli spaces of Lie algebras.
Denote m_0 the infinite dimensional N-graded Lie algebra defined by basis e_i, i>= 1 and relations [e_1,e_i] = e_(i+1) for all i>=2. We compute in this article the bracket structure on H1(m_0,m_0), H2(m_0,m_0) and in relation to this, we establish that there are only finitely many true deformations of m_0 in each nonpositive weight, by constructing them explicitely. It turns out that in weight 0 one gets exactly the other two filiform Lie algebras.
A cohomology theory of weighted Rota-Baxter $3$-Lie algebras is introduced. Formal deformations, abelian extensions, skeletal weighted Rota-Baxter $3$-Lie 2-algebras and crossed modules of weighted Rota-Baxter 3-Lie algebras are interpreted by using lower degree cohomology groups.
We investigate color Lie rings over finite group algebras and their universal enveloping algebras. We exhibit these universal enveloping algebras as PBW deformations of skew group algebras: Every color Lie ring over a finite group algebra with a particular Yetter-Drinfeld structure has universal enveloping algebra that is a quantum Drinfeld orbifold algebra. Conversely, every quantum Drinfeld orbifold algebra of a particular type arising from the action of an abelian group is the universal enveloping algebra of some color Lie ring over the group algebra. One consequence is that these quantum D…
This article explores some simple examples of L-infinity algebras and the construction of miniversal deformations of these structures. Among other things, it is shown that there are two families of nonequivalent L-infinity structures on a 1|1 dimensional vector space, two of which are Lie algebra structures. The main purpose of this work is to provide a simple effective procedure for constructing miniversal deformations, using the examples to illustrate the general technique. The same method can be applied directly to construct versal deformations of Lie algebras.
A VB-algebroid is a vector bundle object in the category of Lie algebroids. We attach to every VB-algebroid a differential graded Lie algebra and we show that it controls deformations of the VB-algebroid structure. Several examples and applications are discussed. This is the first in a series of papers devoted to deformations of vector bundles and related structures over differentiable stacks.
VB-groupoids are vector bundles in the category of Lie groupoids. They encompass several classical objects, including Lie group representations and 2-vector spaces. Moreover, they provide geometric pictures for 2-term representations up to homotopy of Lie groupoids. We attach to every VB-groupoid a cochain complex controlling its deformations and discuss its fundamental features, such as Morita invariance and a van Est theorem. Several examples and applications are given.
Operadic Lax representations for the harmonic oscillator are used to construct the dynamical deformations of three-dimensional (3D) real Lie algebras in the Bianchi classification. It is shown that the energy conservation of the harmonic oscillator is related to the Jacobi identities of the dynamically deformed algebras. Based on this observation, it is proved that the dynamical deformations of 3D real Lie algebras in the Bianchi classification over the harmonic oscillator are Lie algebras.
In this contributed presentation, we discuss and compare the mutually opposite procedures of deformations and contractions of Lie algebras. We suggest that with appropriate combinations of both procedures one may construct new Lie algebras. We first discuss low-dimensional Lie algebras and illustrate thereby that whereas for every contraction there exists a reverse deformation, the converse is not true in general. Also we note that some Lie algebras belonging to parameterized families are singled out by the irreversibility of deformations and contractions. After reminding that global deformati…
Denote $\fm_2$ the infinite dimensional $\N$-graded Lie algebra defined by the basis $e_i$ for $i\geq 1$ and by relations $[e_1,e_i]=e_{i+1}$ for all $i\geq 2$, $[e_2,e_j]=e_{j+2}$ for all $j\geq 3$. We compute in this article the bracket structure on $H^1(\fm_2,\fm_2)$, $H^2(\fm_2,\fm_2)$ and in relation to this, we establish that there are only finitely many true deformations of $\fm_2$ in each weight by constructing them explicitely. It turns out that in weight 0 one gets as non-trivial deformation only one formal non-converging deformation.
This work explores the deformation theory of algebraic structures in a very general setting. These structures include commutative, associative algebras, Lie algebras, and the infinity versions of these structures, the strongly homotopy associative and Lie algebras. In all these cases the algebra structure is determined by an element of a certain graded Lie algebra which plays the role of a differential on this algebra. We work out the deformation theory in terms of the Lie algebra of coderivations of an appropriate coalgebra structure and construct a universal infinitesimal deformation as well…
We consider deformations of finite or infinite dimensional Lie algebras over a field of characteristic 0. There is substantial confusion in the literature if one tries to describe all the non-equivalent deformations of a given Lie algebra. It is known that there is in general no "universal" deformation of the Lie algebra L with a commutative algebra base A with the property that for any other deformation of L with base B there exists a unique homomorphism f: A -> B that induces an equivalent deformation. Thus one is led to seek a "miniversal" deformation. For a miniversal deformation such a ho…
In this review article, first we give the concrete formulas of representations and cohomologies of associative algebras, Lie algebras, pre-Lie algebras, Leibniz algebras and 3-Lie algebras and some of their strong homotopy analogues. Then we recall the graded Lie algebras and graded associative algebras that characterize these algebraic structures as Maurer-Cartan elements. The corresponding Maurer-Cartan element equips the graded Lie or associative algebra with a differential. Then the deformations of the given algebraic structures are characterized as the Maurer-Cartan elements of the result…
We consider versal deformations of 0|3-dimensional L-infinity algebras, which correspond precisely to ordinary (non-graded) three dimensional Lie algebras. The classification of such algebras over C is well known, although we shall give a derivation of this classification using an approach of treating them as L-infinity algebras. Because the symmetric algebra of a three dimensional odd vector space contains terms only of exterior degree less than or equal to three, the construction of versal deformations can be carried out completely. We give a characterization of the moduli space of Lie algeb…
We classify filtered quantizations of conical symplectic singularities and use this to show that all filtered quantizations of symplectic quotient singularities are spherical Symplectic reflection algebras of Etingof and Ginzburg. We further apply our classification and a classification of filtered Poisson deformations obtained by Namikawa to establish a version of the Orbit method for semisimple Lie algebras. Namely, we produce a natural map from the set of adjoint orbits in a semisimple Lie algebra to the set of primitive ideals in the universal enveloping algebra. We show that the map is in…
