We study Hom-bialgebras and objects admitting coactions by Hom-bialgebras. In particular, we construct a Hom-bialgebra M representing the functor of 2x2-matrices on Hom-associative algebras. Then we construct a Hom-algebra analogue of the affine plane and show that it is a comodule Hom-algebra over M in a suitable sense. It is also shown that the enveloping Hom-associative algebra of a Hom-Lie algebra is naturally a Hom-bialgebra.
For a bialgebra $L$ coacting on a $\Bbbk$-algebra $A$, a classical result states that $A$ is a right $L$-comodule algebra if and only if $A$ is an algebra in the monoidal category $\mathcal{M}^{L}$ of right $L$-comodules; the former notion is formulaic while the latter is categorical. We generalize this result to the setting of weak bialgebras $H$. The category $\mathcal{M}^H$ admits a monoidal structure by work of Nill and Böhm-Caenepeel-Janssen, but the algebras in $\mathcal{M}^H$ are not canonically $\Bbbk$-algebras. Nevertheless, we prove that there is an isomorphism between the category o…
Starting from any operad P, one can consider on one hand the free operad on P, and on the other hand the Baez--Dolan construction on P. These two new operads have the same space of operations, but with very different notions of arity and substitution. The main result of this paper is that the incidence bialgebras of the two-sided bar constructions of the two operads constitute together a comodule bialgebra. The result is objective: it concerns comodule-bialgebra structures on groupoid slices, and the proof is given in terms of equivalences of groupoids and homotopy pullbacks. Comodule bialgebr…
We show that for dually paired bialgebras, every comodule algebra over one of the paired bialgebras gives a comodule algebra over their Drinfeld double via a crossed product construction. These constructions generalize to working with bialgebra objects in a braided monoidal category of modules over a quasitriangular Hopf algebra. Hence two ways to provide comodule algebras over the braided Drinfeld double (the double bosonization) are provided. Furthermore, a map of second Hopf algebra cohomology spaces is constructed. It takes a pair of 2-cocycles over dually paired Hopf algebras and produces…
We introduce the analogue of Manin's universal coacting (bialgebra) Hopf algebra for Poisson algebras. First, for two given Poisson algebras $P$ and $U$, where $U$ is finite dimensional, we construct a Poisson algebra $\mathcal{B}(P,\, U)$ together with a Poisson algebra homomorphism $ψ_{\mathcal{B}(P,\,U)} \colon P \to U \otimes \mathcal{B}(P,\, U)$ satisfying a suitable universal property. $\mathcal{B}(P,\, U)$ is shown to admit a Poisson bialgebra structure for any pair of Poisson algebra homomorphisms subject to certain compatibility conditions. If $P=U$ is a finite dimensional Poisson alg…
We construct the algebra of fractions of a Weak Bialgebra relative to a suitable denominator set of group-like elements that is `almost central', a condition we introduce in the present article which is sufficient in order to guarantee existence of the algebra of fractions and to render it a Weak Bialgebra. The monoid of all group-like elements of a coquasi-triangular Weak Bialgebra, for example, forms a suitable set of denominators as does any monoid of central group-like elements of an arbitrary Weak Bialgebra. We use this technique in order to construct new Weak Bialgebras whose categories …
This paper studied what shall be called the Long equation: that is the system of nonlinear equation $R^{12}R^{13}=R^{13}R^{12}$ and $R^{12}R^{23}= R^{23}R^{12}$. Any solution of this system supplies us a solution for the integrability solution of Knizhnic-Zamolodchikov equation. We shall approach this equation by introducing a new class of bialgebras, which we call Long bialgebras. A FRT type theorem is given: in the finite case any solution of the above equation is a co-homotety where the vector spase is a comodule over a Long bialgebra.
A class of non-associative and non-coassociative generalizations of cobraided bialgebras, called cobraided Hom-bialgebras, is introduced. The non-(co)associativity in a cobraided Hom-bialgebra is controlled by a twisting map. Several methods for constructing cobraided Hom-bialgebras are given. In particular, Hom-type generalizations of FRT quantum groups, including quantum matrices and related quantum groups, are obtained. Each cobraided Hom-bialgebra comes with solutions of the operator quantum Hom-Yang-Baxter equations, which are twisted analogues of the operator form of the quantum Yang-Bax…
Let $A$ be a commutative comodule algebra over a commutative bialgebra $H$. The group of invertible relative Hopf modules maps to the Picard group of $A$, and the kernel is described as a quotient group of the group of invertible grouplike elements of the coring $A\ot H$, or as a Harrison cohomology group. Our methods are based on elementary $K$-theory. The Hilbert 90 Theorem follows as a corollary. The part of the Picard group of the coinvariants that becomes trivial after base extension embeds in the Harrison cohomology group, and the image is contained in a well-defined subgroup $E$. It equ…
An operad describes a category of algebras and a (co)homology theory for these algebras may be formulated using the homological algebra of operads. A morphism of operads $f:\mathcal{O}\rightarrow\mathcal{P}$ describes a functor allowing a $\mathcal{P}$-algebra to be viewed as an $\mathcal{O}$-algebra. We show that the $\mathcal{O}$-algebra (co)homology of a $\mathcal{P}$-algebra may be represented by a certain operadic comodule. Thus filtrations of this comodule result in spectral sequences computing the (co)homology. As a demonstration we study operads with a filtered distributive law; for th…
An algebraic deformation theory of module-algebras over a bialgebra is constructed. The cases of module-coalgebras, comodule-algebras, and comodule-coalgebras are also considered.
We introduce the new concept of braided Hom-Lie bialgebras which is a generalization of Sommerhäuser-Majid's braided Lie bialgebras and Yau's Hom-Lie bialgebras. Using this concept we give the unified product construction for Hom-Lie bialgebras which can be seen as a Hom-Lie version of Bespalov-Drabant's cocycle cross product bialgebras. Some special cases of unified products such as crossed product and matched pair of braided Hom-Lie bialgebras are investigated. As an application, we solve the Agore-Militaru extending problem for Hom-Lie bialgebras by using some non-abelian cohomology theory.…
Hom-bialgebras and Hom-Hopf algebras are generalizations of bialgebra and Hopf algebra structures, where associativity and coassociativity conditions are twisted by a homomorphism. The purpose of this paper is to define a Gerstenhaber-Schack cohomology complex for Hom-bialgebras and then study one parameter formal deformations.
The purpose of this paper is to give a general survey of Hom-bialgebras, which are bialgebra-type structures where the identities are twisted by a morphism, and to extend the concept of quasi-bialgebra to Hom-setting. We provide some key constructions and generalize the concept of gauge transformation and Drinfeld's twists to this type of generalized quasi-bialgebras. Moreover, we provide an example of twisted quantum double.
In this paper, we study Hom-Lie bialgebras by a new notion of the dual representation of a representation of a Hom-Lie algebra. Motivated by the essential connection between Lie bialgebras and Manin triples, we introduce the notion of a Hom-Lie bialgebra with emphasis on its compatibility with a Manin triple of Hom-Lie algebras associated to a nondegenerate symmetric bilinear form satisfying a new invariance condition. With this notion, coboundary Hom-Lie bialgebras can be studied without a skew-symmetric condition of $r\in\mathfrak{g}\otimes \mathfrak{g}$, naturally leading to the classical H…
The notions of transposed Hom-Poisson and Hom-pre-Lie Poisson algebras are introduced. Their bimodules and matched pairs are defined and the relevant properties and theorems are given. The notion of Manin triple of transposed Hom-Poisson algebras is introduced, and its equivalence to the transposed Hom-Poisson bialgebras is investigated. The notion of $\mathcal{O}$-operator is exploited to illustrate the relations existing between transposed Hom-Poisson and Hom-pre-Lie Poisson algebras.
Quasishuffle Hopf algebras, usually defined on a commutative monoid, can be more generally defined on any associative algebra V. If V is a commutative and cocommutative bialgebra, the associated quasishuffle bialgebra QSh(V) inherits a second coproduct $δ$ of contraction and extraction of words, cointeracting with the deconcatenation coproduct $Δ$, making QSh(V) a double bialgebra. In order to generalize the universal property of the Hopf algebra of quasisymmetric functions QSym (a particular case of quasishuffle Hopf algebra) as exposed by Aguiar, Bergeron and Sottile, we introduce the notion…
The deformation bicomplex of a module-algebra over a bialgebra is constructed. It is then applied to study algebraic deformations in which both the module structure and the algebra structure are deformed. The cases of module-coalgebras, comodule-(co)algebras, and (co)module-bialgebras are also considered.
In this paper we introduce modules over both left and right Hom-alternative algebras. We give some constructions of left and right Hom-alternative modules and give various properties of both, as well as examples. Then, we prove that morphisms of left alternative algebras extend to morphisms of left Hom-alternative algebras. Next, we introduce comodules over Hom-Poisson coalgebras and show that we may obtain a structure map of a comodule over a Hom-Poisson coalgebra from a given one.
The purpose of this paper is to define an $α$-type cohomology, which we call $α$-type Chevalley-Eilenberg cohomology, for Hom-Lie algebras. We relate it to the known Chevalley-Eilenberg cohomology and provide explicit computations for some examples. Moreover, using this cohomology we study formal deformations of Hom-Lie algebras, where the bracket as well as the structure map $α$ are deformed. Furthermore, we provide a generalization of the Grand Crochet and study, in a particular case, the $α$-type cohomology for Hom-Lie bialgebras.
Basic definitions and properties of nearly associative algebras are described. Nearly associative algebras are proved to be Lie-admissible algebras. Two-dimensional nearly associative algebras are classified, and its main classes are derived. The bimodules, matched pairs and Manin triple of a nearly associative algebras are derived and their equivalence with nearly associative bialgebras is proved. Basic definitions and properties of nearly Hom-associative algebras are described. Related bimodules and matched pairs are given, and associated identities are established.
We study different algebraic structures associated to an operad and their relations: to any operad $\mathbf{P}$ is attached a bialgebra, the monoid of characters of this bialgebra, the underlying pre-Lie algebra and its enveloping algebra; all of them can be explicitely describedwith the help of the operadic composition. non-commutative versions are also given. We denote by $\mathbf{b\_\infty}$ the operad of $\mathbf{b\_\infty}$ algebras, describing all Hopf algebra structures on a symmetric coalgebra. If there exists an operad morphism from $\mathbf{b\_\infty}$ to $\mathbf{P}$, a pair $(A,B)$ o…
From the definition and properties of unital hom-associative algebras, and the use of the Kaplansky's constructions, we develop new algebraic structures called 2-hom-associative bialgebras, 2-hom-bialgebras, and 2-2-hom-bialgebras. Besides, we devise a construction of hom-left symmetric dialgebras and discuss their main relevant properties.
We introduce a Hom-type generalization of quantum groups, called quasi-triangular Hom-bialgebras. They are non-associative and non-coassociative analogues of Drinfel'd's quasi-triangular bialgebras, in which the non-(co)associativity is controlled by a twisting map. A family of quasi-triangular Hom-bialgebras can be constructed from any quasi-triangular bialgebra, such as Drinfel'd's quantum enveloping algebras. Each quasi-triangular Hom-bialgebra comes with a solution of the quantum Hom-Yang-Baxter equation, which is a non-associative version of the quantum Yang-Baxter equation. Solutions of …
The aim of this paper is to define and study Drinfeld twists for monoidal Hom-bialgebras. We show that a new Hom-bialgebra could be constructed by changing the coproduct of a monoidal Hom-bialgebra via a Drinfeld twist, and this construction preserves $R$-matrixes if there exist one. Moreover, their representation categories are monoidal isomorphic.
Rota-Baxter systems were introduced by Brzeziński as a generalization of Rota-Baxter operators that are related to dendriform structures, associative Yang-Baxter pairs and covariant bialgebras. In this paper, we define Rota-Baxter systems on Hom-associative algebras and show how they induce Hom-dendriform structures and weak pseudotwistors on the underlying Hom-associative algebra. We introduce Hom-Yang-Baxter pairs and a notion of covariant Hom-bialgebra. Given a Hom-Yang-Baxter pair, we construct a twisted Rota-Baxter system and a (quasitriangular) covariant Hom-bialgebra. Finally, we consid…
In this paper, we first introduce the definition of a Hom-Poisson bialgebra and give an equivalent descriptions via the Manin triple of Hom-Poisson algebras. Also we introduce notions of $\mathcal{O}$-operator on a Hom-Poisson algebra, post-Hom-Poisson algebra and quasitriangular Hom-Poisson bialgebra, and present a method to construct post-Hom-Poisson algebras. Finally, we show that a quasitriangular Hom-Poisson bialgebra naturally yields a post-Hom-Poisson algebra.
In this paper we introduce the notion of Hom-pre-Lie bialgebra in the general framework of the cohomology theory for Hom-Lie algebras. We show that Hom-pre-Lie bialgebras, standard Manin triples for Hom-pre-Lie algebras and certain matched pairs of Hom-pre-Lie algebras are equivalent. Due to the usage of the cohomology theory, it makes us successfully study the coboundary Hom-pre-Lie bialgebras. The notion of Hom-s-matrix is introduced, by which we can construct Hom-pre-Lie bialgebras naturally. Finally we introduce the notions of Hom-O-operators on Hom-pre-Lie algebras and Hom-L-dendriform al…
In this paper, we first introduce the notion of Hom-left-symmetric conformal bialgebras and show some nontrivial examples. Also, we present construction methods of matched pairs of Hom-Lie conformal algebras and Hom-left-symmetric conformal algebras. Finally, we prove that a finite Hom-left-symmetric conformal bialgebra is free as a $\mathbb{C}[\partial]$-module is equivalent to a Hom-parakähler Lie conformal algebra. In particular, we investigate the coboundary Hom-left-symmetric conformal bialgebras.
We study the Hom-type generalization of infinitesimal bialgebras, called infinitesimal Hom-bialgebras. In particular, we consider infinitesimal Hom-bialgebras arising from quivers, the sub-classes of coboundary and quasi-triangular infinitesimal Hom-bialgebras, the associative Hom-Yang-Baxter equation, and homological perturbation of the comultiplications in infinitesimal Hom-bialgebras. The relationships between infinitesimal Hom-bialgebras, Hom-Lie bialgebras, and the classical Hom-Yang-Baxter equation are also studied.
Motivated by recent work on Hom-Lie algebras and the Hom-Yang-Baxter equation, we introduce a twisted generalization of the classical Yang-Baxter equation (CYBE), called the classical Hom-Yang-Baxter equation (CHYBE). We show how an arbitrary solution of the CYBE induces multiple infinite families of solutions of the CHYBE. We also introduce the closely related structure of Hom-Lie bialgebras, which generalize Drinfel'd's Lie bialgebras. In particular, we study the questions of duality and cobracket perturbation and the sub-classes of coboundary and quasi-triangular Hom-Lie bialgebras.
In this work, the partially and totally hom-coassociative ternary coalgebras are constructed and discussed. Their {infinitesimal} bialgebraic structures are also investigated. The related dual space structures and their properties are elucidated.
Let $A$ be a ring and $\M_A$ the category of $A$-modules. It is well known in module theory that for any $A $-bimodule $B$, $B$ is an $A$-ring if and only if the functor $-\otimes_A B: \M_A\to \M_A$ is a monad (or triple). Similarly, an $A $-bimodule $\C$ is an $A$-coring provided the functor $-\otimes_A\C:\M_A\to \M_A$ is a comonad (or cotriple). The related categories of modules (or algebras) of $-\otimes_A B$ and comodules (or coalgebras) of $-\otimes_A\C$ are well studied in the literature. On the other hand, the right adjoint endofunctors $\Hom_A(B,-)$ and $\Hom_A(\C,-)$ are a comonad and…
In this paper, we introduce a new definition of a hom-Lie bialgebra, which is equivalent to a Manin triple of hom-Lie algebras. We also introduce a notion of an $\mathcal O$-operator and then construct solutions of the classical hom-Yang-Baxter equation in terms of $\mathcal O$-operators and hom-left-symmetric algebras.
We give explicit formulas for maps in a long exact sequence connecting bialgebra cohomology to Hochschild cohomology. We give a sufficient condition for the connecting homomorphism to be surjective. We apply these results to compute all bialgebra two-cocycles of certain Radford biproducts (bosonizations). These two-cocycles are precisely those associated to the finite dimensional pointed Hopf algebras in the recent classification of Andruskiewitsch and Schneider, in an interpretation of these Hopf algebras as graded bialgebra deformations of Radford biproducts.
We describe $L_\infty$-algebras governing homotopy relative Rota-Baxter Lie algebras and triangular $L_\infty$-bialgebras, and establish a map between them. Our formulas are based on a functorial approach to Voronov's higher derived brackets construction which is of independent interest.
In this work, the hom-center-symmetric algebras are constructed and discussed. Their bimodules, dual bimodules and matched pairs are defined. The relation between the dual bimodules of hom-center-symmetric algebras and the matched pairs of hom-Lie algebras is established. Furthermore, the Manin triple of hom-center-symmetric algebras is given. Finally, a theorem linking the matched pairs of hom-center-symmetric algebras, the hom-center-symmetric bialgebras and the matched pairs of sub-adjacent hom-Lie algebras is provided.
We describe all the quasi-bialgebra structures of a group algebra over a torsion-free abelian group. They all come out to be triangular in a unique way. Moreover, up to an isomorphism, these quasi-bialgebra structures produce only one (braided) monoidal structure on the category of their representations. Applying these results to the algebra of Laurent polynomials, we recover two braided monoidal categories introduced in \cite{CG} by S. Caenepeel and I. Goyvaerts in connection with Hom-structures (Lie algebras, algebras, coalgebras, Hopf algebras).
We study a twisted version of the Yang-Baxter Equation, called the Hom-Yang-Baxter Equation (HYBE), which is motivated by Hom-Lie algebras. Three classes of solutions of the HYBE are constructed, one from Hom-Lie algebras and the others from Drinfeld's (dual) quasi-triangular bialgebras. Each solution of the HYBE can be extended to operators that satisfy the braid relations. Assuming an invertibility condition, these operators give a representation of the braid group.
We first introduce the notion of Doi Hom-Hopf modules and find the sufficient condition for the category of Doi Hom-Hopf modules to be monoidal. Also we obtain the condition for the monoidal Hom-algebra and monoidal Hom-coalgebra to be monoidal Hom-bialgebras. Second, we give the maps between the underlying monoidal Hom-Hopf algebras, Hom-comodule algebras and Hom-module coalgebras give rise to functors between the category of Doi Hom-Hopf modules and study tensor identities for monodial categories of Doi Hom-Hopf modules. Furthermore, we construct a braiding on the category of Doi Hom-Hopf mo…
In this paper we define a new cohomology for multiplicative Hom-associative algebras, which generalize Hochschild cohomology and fits with deformations of Hom-associative algebras including the structure map $α$. It is a generalization of the known Hochschild-type cohomology for Hom-associative algebras defined by Amar, Ejbehi and Makhlouf. Moreover, we provide various observations and similarly a new cohomology of Hom-bialgebras extending the Gerstenhaber-Schack cohomology for Hom-bialgebras given by Dekkar and Makhlouf.
In this paper, we first introduce the notion of a 3-Hom-Lie bialgebra and prove that it is equivalent to a Manin triple of 3-Hom-Lie algebras. Also, we study the $\mathcal{O}$-operator and construct solutions of the 3-Lie classical Hom-Yang-Baxter equation interms of $\mathcal{O}$-operators and 3-Hom-pre-Lie algebras. Finally, we show that a 3-Hom-Lie algebra has a phase space if and only if it is sub-adjacent to a 3-Hom-pre-Lie algebra.
A BiHom-associative algebra is a (nonassociative) algebra $A$ endowed with two commuting multiplicative linear maps $α,β\colon A\rightarrow A$ such that $α(a)(bc)=(ab)β(c)$, for all $a, b, c\in A$. This concept arose in the study of algebras in so-called group Hom-categories. In this paper, we introduce as well BiHom-Lie algebras (also by using the categorical approach) and BiHom-bialgebras. We discuss these new structures by presenting some basic properties and constructions (representations, twisted tensor products, smash products etc).
The notion of a Hom-Leibniz bialgebra is introduced and it is shown that matched pairs of Hom-Leibniz algebras, Manin triples of Hom-Leibniz algebras and Hom-Leibniz bialgebras are equivalent in a certain sense. The notion of Hom-Leibniz dendriform algebra is established, their bimodules and matched pairs are defined and their properties and theorems about their interplay and construction are obtained. Furthermore, the concept of BiHom-Leibniz dendriform algebras is introduced and discussed, their bimodules and matched pairs are constructed and properties are described. Finally, the connection…
In this paper, first we show that there is a Hom-Lie algebra structure on the set of $(σ,σ)$-derivations of a commutative algebra. Then we construct dual representations of a representation of a Hom-Lie algebra. We introduce the notions of a Manin triple for Hom-Lie algebras and a purely Hom-Lie bialgebra. Using the coadjoint representation, we show that there is a one-to-one correspondence between Manin triples for Hom-Lie algebras and purely Hom-Lie bialgebras. Finally, we study coboundary purely Hom-Lie bialgebras and construct solutions of the classical Hom-Yang-Baxter equations in some sp…
The purpose of this paper is to study twistings of Poisson algebras or bialgebras, coPoisson algebras or bialgebras and star-products. We con- sider Hom-algebraic structures generalizing classical algebraic structures by twisting the identities by a linear self map. We summarize the results on Hom-Poisson algebras and introduce Hom-coPoisson algebras and bialge- bras. We show that there exists a duality between Hom-Poisson bialgebras and Hom-coPoisson bialgebras. A relationship between enveloping Hom- algebras endowed with Hom-coPoisson structures and corresponding Hom- Lie bialgebra structure…
Let $H$ be a Hopf algebra over a field $k$, and $A$ an $H$-comodule algebra. The categories of comodules and relative Hopf modules are then Grothendieck categories with enough injectives. We study the derived functors of the associated Hom functors, and of the coinvariants functor, and discuss spectral sequences that connect them. We also discuss when the coinvariants functor preserves injectives.
Let C be a coalgebra over a field k and A its dual algebra. The category of C-comodules is equivalent to a category of A-modules. We use this to interpret the cotensor product M \square N of two comodules in terms of the appropriate Hochschild cohomology of the A-bimodule M \otimes N, when A is finite-dimensional, profinite, graded or differential-graded. The main applications are to Galois cohomology, comodules over the Steenrod algebra, and the homology of induced fibrations.
We characterize noncommutative Frobenius algebras A in terms of the existence of a coproduct which is a map of left A^e-modules. We show that the category of right (left) comodules over A, relative to this coproduct, is isomorphic to the category of right (left) modules. This isomorphism enables a reformulation of the cotensor product of Eilenberg and Moore as a functor of modules rather than comodules. We prove that the cotensor product M \Box N of a right A-module M and a left A-module N is isomorphic to the vector space of homomorphisms from a particular left A^e-module D to N \otimes M, vi…
The purpose of this paper is to generalize to $\mathbb{Z}_2$-graded case the study of Hom-Lie bialgebras which were discussed first by D. Yau, then by C. Bai and Y. Sheng. We provide different ways for constructing Hom-Lie superbialgebras. Also we define Matched pairs, Manin supertriples and discuss their relationships. Moreover, we study coboundary and triangular Hom-Lie bialgebras, as well as infinitesimal deformations of the cobracket.
A bialgebra is a structure which is simultaneously an algebra and a coalgebra, such that the algebraic and coalgebraic parts are "compatible". Bialgebras are normally studied over a field or commutative ring. In this paper, we show how to apply the defining diagrams of algebras, coalgebras, and bialgebras to categories of semimodules and semimodule homomorphisms over a commutative semiring. We then show that formal language theory and the theory of bialgebras have essentially undergone "convergent evolution", with the same constructions appearing in both contexts. For example, formal languages…
