A second-order differential (q-difference) eigenvalue equation is constructed whose solutions are generating functions of the dual (q-)Hahn polynomials. The fact is noticed that these generating functions are reduced to the (little q-)Jacobi polynomials, and implications of this for quasi-exactly solvable problems are studied. A connection with the Azbel-Hofstadter problem is indicated.

We study a linear spin chain which was originally introduced by Shi et al. [Phys. Rev. A 71 (2005), 032309, 5 pages], for which the coupling strength contains a parameter $α$ and depends on the parity of the chain site. A new solvable two-dimensional spin lattice model defined on a regular grid of triangular shape is proposed. The hopping amplitudes between sites are related to recurrence coefficients of certain bivariate dual-Hahn polynomials. By solving an infinite nonlinear system of $q$-difference equations one constructs a chain of $q$-difference operators. The eigenproblems for the chain are solved and some applications, including the one related to $q$-Hahn orthogonal polynomials, are discussed. It is shown that in the limit q->1 the present method corresponds to the one developed by Infeld and Hull.

We develop spectral theory for the q-Hahn stochastic particle system introduced recently by Povolotsky. That is, we establish a Plancherel type isomorphism result which implies completeness and biorthogonality statements for the Bethe ansatz eigenfunctions of the system. A two-dimensional superintegrable system of singular oscillators with internal degrees of freedom is identified and exactly solved. Its symmetry algebra is seen to be the dual $-1$ Hahn algebra which describes the bispectral properties of the polynomials with the same name that are essentially the Clebsch-Gordan coefficients of the superconformal algebra $\mathfrak{osp}(1|2)$. It is also shown how this superintegrable model is obtained under dimensional reduction from a set of uncoupled harmonic oscillators in four dimensions.
Exact solvability of two typical examples of the discrete quantum mechanics, i.e. the dynamics of the Meixner-Pollaczek and the continuous Hahn polynomials with full parameters, is newly demonstrated both at the Schroedinger and Heisenberg picture levels. A new quasi exactly solvable difference equation is constructed by crossing these two dynamics, that is, the quadratic potential function of the continuous Hahn polynomial is multiplied by the constant phase factor of the Meixner-Pollaczek type. Its ordinary quantum mechanical counterpart, if exists, does not seem to be known.

Inertial particles in 2D driven by a Gaussian white noise forcing are considered. For two examples of the forcing (compressible and incompressible) upper and lower bounds are found for the mean number of caustics as a function of Stokes number. Efficiency of the bounds is verified by numerical methods.

We study a quantum mechanical potential introduced previously as a conditionally exactly solvable (CES) model. Besides an analysis following its original introduction in terms of the point canonical transformation, we also present an alternative supersymmetric construction of it. We demonstrate that from the three roots of the implicit cubic equation defining the bound-state energy eigenvalues, there is always only one that leads to a meaningful physical state. Finally we demonstrate that the present CES interaction is, in fact, an exactly solvable Natanzon-class potential.
We construct models of exactly solvable two-particle quantum graphs with certain non-local two-particle interactions, establishing appropriate boundary conditions via suitable self-adjoint realisations of the two-particle Laplacian. In this paper, we study the Schrödinger equation with a new quasi-exactly solvable double-well potential. Exact expressions for the energies, the corresponding wave functions and the allowed values of the potential parameters are obtained using two different methods, the Bethe ansatz method and the Lie algebraic approach. We introduce a new family of quasi-exactly solvable generalized isotonic oscillators which are based on the pseudo-Hermite exceptional orthogonal polynomials. We obtain exact closed-form expressions for the energies and wavefunctions as well as the allowed potential parameters for the first two members of the family using the Bethe ansatz method. Numerical calculations of the energies reveal that member potentials have multiple quasi-exactly solvable eigenstates and the number of states for higher members are parameter dependent.
