We study non-trivial deformations of the natural action of the Lie algebra $\mathrm{Vect}({\mathbb R}^n)$ on the space of differential forms on ${\mathbb R}^n$. We calculate abstractions for integrability of infinitesimal multi-parameter deformations and determine the commutative associative algebra corresponding to the miniversal deformation in the sense of \cite{ff}.
The space of symbols of differential operators on a smooth manifold (i.e., the space of symmetric contravariant tensor fields) is naturally a module over the Lie algebra of vector fields. We study, in the case of $\bf R^n$ with $n\geq2$, multi-parameter formal deformations of this module. The space of linear differential operators on $\bf R^n$ provides an important class of such formal deformations; we show, however, that the whole space of deformations is much larger.
If A is a bialgebra over a field k and M, N are either left-right Yetter-Drinfel'd modules or left-right Hopf modules over A, we construct deformation cohomologies H^*(M,N) as total cohomologies of certain double complexes Y(M,N) and C(M,N), respectively. In both cases, H^1(M,N) is isomorphic to the group of equivalence classes of extensions of M by N in the corresponding category. In the Yetter-Drinfel'd case, H^*(k,k) is just the Gerstenhaber-Schack cohomology of the bialgebra A. If M, N are Hopf bimodules we construct a natural subbicomplex of the above C(M,N), yielding a cohomology theory …
We study modules over the algebroid stack $\W[\stx]$ of deformation quantization on a complex symplectic manifold $\stx$ and recall some results: construction of an algebra for $\star$-products, existence of (twisted) simple modules along smooth Lagrangian submanifolds, perversity of the complex of solutions for regular holonomic $\W[\stx]$-modules, finiteness and duality for the composition of ``good'' kernels. As a corollary, we get that the derived category of good $\W[\stx]$-modules with compact support is a Calabi-Yau category. We also give a conjectural Riemann-Roch type formula in this …
We construct the deformation functor associated to a couple of morphisms of differential graded Lie algebras, and use it to study the infinitesimal deformations of a holomorphic map of compact complex manifolds. In particular, in the case of Kähler manifolds we describe a generalizzation of the semiregularity map.
Free field representation of level-$k (\not=0,-2)$ Yangian double ${\cal D}Y(sl_2)_k$ and a corresponding deformation of Wakimoto modules are presented. We also realize two types of vertex operators intertwining these modules.
In this paper, we use the parametrised strict deformation quantization of C*-bundles obtained in a previous paper, and give more examples and applications of this theory. In particular, it is used here to classify H_3-twisted noncommutative torus bundles over a locally compact space. This is extended to the case of general torus bundles and their parametrised strict deformation quantization. Rieffel's basic construction of an algebra deformation can be mimicked to deform a monoidal category, which deforms not only algebras but also modules. As a special case, we consider the parametrised stric…
Let $(M,ω)$ be a symplectic manifold, $\mathcal{D}\subset TM$ a real polarization on $M$ and $\wp$ a leaf of $\mathcal{D}$. We construct a Fedosov-type star-product $\ast_L$ on $M$ such that $C^\infty (\wp)[[h]]$ has a natural structure of left module over the deformed algebra $(C^\infty (M)[[h]], \ast_L)$. This generalizes the results of 0708.2626.
We describe explicitly the vertex algebra of (twisted) chiral differential operators on certain nilmanifolds and construct their logarithmic modules. This is achieved by generalizing the construction of vertex operators in terms of exponentiated scalar fields to Jacobi theta functions naturally appearing in these nilmanifolds. This provides with a non-trivial example of logarithmic vertex algebra modules, a theory recently developed by Bakalov.
Relations between the string topology of Chas and Sullivan and the homotopy skein modules of Hoste and Przytycki are studied. This provides new insight into the structure of homotopy skein modules and their meaning in the framework of quantum topology. Our results can be considered as weak extensions to all orientable 3-manifolds of classical results by Turaev and Goldman concerning intersection and skein theory on oriented surfaces.
We introduce the notion of being cohomologically complete for objects of the derived category of sheaves of $Z[\hbar]$-modules on a topological space. Then we consider a $Z[\hbar]$-algebra satisfying some suitable conditions and prove coherency results by using the property of being cohomologically complete. We apply these results to the study of modules over deformation quantization algebroids on complex Poisson manifolds. We prove in particular that under a natural properness condition, the convolution of two coherent kernels over such algebroids is coherent. We also construct the dualizing …
Local Weyl modules over two-dimensional currents with values in $gl_r$ are deformed into spaces with bases related to parking functions. Using this construction we 1) propose a simple proof that dimension of the space of diagonal coinvariants is not less than the number of parking functions; 2) describe the limits of Weyl modules in terms of semi-infinite forms and find the limits of characters; 3) propose a lower bound and state a conjecture for dimensions of Weyl modules with arbitrary highest weights. Also we express characters of deformed Weyl modules in terms of $ρ$-parking functions and …
In this paper, we consider the restriction of finite dimensional $GL_{mn} (\C)$-modules to the subgroup ${GL_m (\C)\times GL_n (\C)}$. In particular, for a Weyl module $V_λ (\C^{mn})$ of $U_q(gl_{mn})$ we construct a representation $W_λ$ of $U_q (gl_m)\otimes U_q (gl_n)$ such that at $q=1$, the restriction of $V_λ (\C^{mn})$ to $U_1 (gl_m)\otimes U_1 (gl_n)$ matches its action on $W_λ$ at $q=1$. Thus $W_λ$ is a $q$-deformation of the module $V_λ$. This is achieved by first constructing a $U_q (gl_m)\otimes U_q (gl_n)$-module $\wedge^k $, a $q$-deformation of the simple $GL_{mn} (\C)$-module $\…
We introduce a notion of elliptic differential graded Lie algebra. The class of elliptic algebras contains such examples as the algebra of differential forms with values in endomorphisms of a flat vector bundle over a compact manifold, etc. For elliptic differential graded algebra we construct a complete set of deformations. We show that for several deformation problems the existence of a formal power series solution guarantees the existence of an analytic solution.
We define a three-parameter deformation of the Weyl-Heisenberg algebra that generalizes the q-oscillator algebra. By a purely algebraical procedure, we set up on this quantum space two differential calculi that are shown to be invariant on the same quantum group, extended to a ten-generator Hopf-star-algebra. We prove that, when the values of the parameters are related, the two differential calculi reduce to one that is invariant under two quantum groups.
This thesis studies the Bar-Natan skein module of the solid torus with a particular boundary curve system, and in particular a diagrammatic presentation of it due to Russell. This module has deep connections to topology and categorification: it is isomorphic to both the total homology of the (n,n)-Springer variety and the 0th Hochschild homology of the Khovanov arc ring H^n. We can also view the Bar-Natan--Russell skein module from a representation-theoretic viewpoint as an extension of the Frenkel--Khovanov graphical description of the Lusztig dual canonical basis of the nth tensor power of t…
We use the Thom-Whitney construction to show that infinitesimal deformations of a coherent sheaf F are controlled by the differential graded Lie algebra of global sections of an acyclic resolution of the sheaf End(E), where E is any locally free resolution of F. In particular, one recovers the well known fact that the tangent space to deformations of F is Ext^1(F,F), and obstructions are contained in Ext^2(F,F). The main tool is the identification of the deformation functor associated with the Thom-Whitney DGLA of a semicosimplicial DGLA whose cohomology is concentrated in nonnegative degrees …
Let H be a Hopf algebra, A a left H-module algebra and V a left H-module A-bimodule. We study the behavior of the right A-linear endomorphisms of V under twist deformation. We in particular construct a bijective quantization map to the right A_\star-linear endomorphisms of V_\star, with A_\star,V_\star denoting the usual twist deformations of A,V. The quantization map is extended to right A-linear homomorphisms between left H-module A-bimodules and to right connections on V. We then investigate the tensor product of linear maps between left H-modules. Given a quasitriangular Hopf algebra we ca…
In this work various symbol spaces with values in a sequentially complete locally convex vector space are introduced and discussed. They are used to define vector-valued oscillatory integrals which allow to extend Rieffel's strict deformation quantization to the framework of sequentially complete locally convex algebras and modules with separately continuous products and module structures, making use of polynomially bounded actions of $\mathbb{R}^n$. Several well-known integral formulas for star products are shown to fit into this general setting, and a new class of examples involving compactl…
The analogy between Yetter's deformation theory form (lax) monoidal functors and Gerstenahaber's deformation theory for associative algebras is solidified by shown that under reasonable conditions the category of functors with an action of a lax monoidal functor is abelian, that an analogue of the Hochschild cohomology of an algebra with coefficients in a bimodule exists for monoidal functors, and is given by right derived functors. The deformation cohmology of a monoidal natural transformation is shown to be a special case.
We construct the generalized version of covariant Z_3-graded differential calculus introduced by one of us (R.K.), and then extended to the case of arbitrary Z_N grading. Here our main purpose is to establish the recurrence formulae for the N-th power of covariant q-differential D_q = d_q + A and to analyze more closely the particular case of q being an Nth primitive root of unity. The generalized notions of connection and curvature are introduced and several examples of realization are displayed for N=3 and N=4. Finally we briefly discuss the idea of infinitesimal deformations of the paramete…
In certain neighborhood $U$ of an arbitrary point of a symplectic manifold $M$ we construct a Fedosov-type star-product $\ast_L$ such that for an arbitrary leaf $\wp$ of a given polarization $\mathcal{D}\subset TM$ the algebra $C^\infty (\wp \cap U)[[h]]$ has a natural structure of left module over the deformed algebra $(C^\infty (U)[[h]], \ast_L)$. With certain additional assumptions on $M$, $\ast_L$ becomes a so-called star-product with separation of variables.
The concept of $λ$-differential operators is a natural generalization of differential operators and difference operators. In this paper, we determine the $λ$-differential Lie algebraic structure on the Witt algebra and the Virasoro algebra for invertible $λ$. Then we consider several families of modules over the Virasoro algebra with explicit module actions and determine the $λ$-differential module structures on them.
In this paper we study a family of algebraic deformations of regular coadjoint orbits of compact semisimple Lie groups with the Kirillov Poisson bracket. The deformations are restrictions of deformations on the dual of the Lie algebra. We prove that there are non isomorphic deformations in the family. The star products are not differential, unlike the star products considered in other approaches. We make a comparison with the differential star product canonically defined by Kontsevich's map.
In 1978 Kostant suggested the Whittaker model of the center of the universal enveloping algebra U(g) of a complex simple Lie algebra g. The main result is that the center of U(g) is isomorphic to a commutative subalgebra in U(b), where b is a Borel subalgebra in g. This observation is used in the theory of principal series representations of the corresponding Lie group G and in the proof of complete integrability of the quantum Toda lattice. In this paper we generalize the Kostant's construction to quantum groups. In our construction we use quantum analogues of regular nilpotent elements defin…
We compute two-term skein modules of framed oriented links in oriented 3-manifolds. They contain the self-writhe and total linking number invariants of framed oriented links in a universal way. The relations in a natural presentation of the skein module are interpreted as monodromies in the space of immersions from circles to the 3-manifold.
We show that if a differential equations $\mathscr{F}$ over a quasi-smooth Berkovich curve $X$ has a certain compatibility condition with respect to an automorphism $σ$ of $X$, and if the automorphism is sufficiently close to the identity, then $\mathscr{F}$ acquires a semi-linear action of $σ$ (i.e. lifting that on $X$). This generalizes the previous works of Yves André, Lucia Di Vizio, and the author about $p$-adic $q$-difference equations. We also obtain an application to Morita's $p$-adic Gamma function, and to related values of $p$-adic $L$-functions.
Let R be a commutative ring, q a unit of R and P a multiplicatively antisymmetric matrix with coefficients which are integers powers of q. Denote by SE(q,P) the multiparameter quantum matrix bialgebra associated to q and P.Slightly generalizing [Hashimoto-Hayashi,Tohoku Math.Tohoku Math.J. 44(1992)],we define a multiparameter deformation $L_{ł/μ}V_P$ of the classical skew Schur module. In case R is a field and q is not a root of 1, arguments like those given in [H-H] show that $L_{ł/μ}V_P$ is irreducible and its decomposition into irreducibles is $\sum_νc(ł/μ;ν)L_νV_P$ where the coefficients ar…
Let $H$ be a Hopf algebra over a commutative ring $k$ with unity and $σ:H\otimes H\longrightarrow k$ be a cocycle on $H$. In this paper, we show that the Yetter-Drinfeld module category of the cocycle deformation Hopf algebra $H^σ$ is equivalent to the Yetter-Drinfeld module category of $H$. As a result of the equivalence, the "quantum Brauer" group BQ$(k,H)$ is isomorphic to BQ$(k,H^σ)$. Moreover, the group $\Gal(\HR)$ constructed in \cite{Z} is studied under a cocycle deformation.
We construct twisting elements for module algebras of restricted two-parameter quantum groups from factors of their R-matrices. We generalize the theory of Giaquinto and Zhang to universal deformation formulas for categories of module algebras and give examples arising from R-matrices of two-parameter quantum groups.
We construct highest-weight modules and a Yangian extension of the centrally extended sl(1|1)^2 superalgebra, that is a symmetry of the worldsheet scattering associated with the AdS3/CFT3 duality. We demonstrate that the R-matrix intertwining atypical modules is of a trigonometric type. We also consider a quantum deformation of this superalgebra, its modules, and obtain a quantum affine extension of the Drinfeld-Jimbo type that describes a deformed worldsheet scattering.
We construct the deformation functor associated with a pair of morphisms of differential graded Lie algebras, and use it to study infinitesimal deformations of holomorphic maps of compact complex manifolds. In particular, using L-infinity structures, we give an explicit description of the differential graded Lie algebra that controls this problem.
We define a new algebra of noncommutative differential forms for any Hopf algebra with an invertible antipode. We prove that there is a one to one correspondence between anti-Yetter-Drinfeld modules, which serve as coefficients for the Hopf cyclic (co)homology, and modules which admit a flat connection with respect to our differential calculus. Thus we show that these coefficient modules can be regarded as ``flat bundles'' in the sense of Connes' noncommutative differential geometry.
Let g be an untwisted affine Kac-Moody algebra and M_J(lambda) a Verma-type module for g with J-highest integral weight lambda. We construct quantum Verma-type modules M_J^q(lambda) over the quantum group U_q(g), investigate their properties and show that M_J^q(lambda) is a true quantum deformation of M_J(ł) in the sense that the weight structure is preserved under the deformation. We also analyze the submodule structure of quantum Verma-type modules.
We prove that an irreducible quasifinite module over the central extension of the Lie algebra of $N\times N$-matrix differential operators on the circle is either a highest or lowest weight module or else a module of the intermediate series. Furthermore, we give a complete classification of indecomposable uniformly bounded modules.
A module M over a vertex algebra V is half-integrable if a_n act locally nilpotently on M for all a in V, m in M, n>0. We study half-integrable modules over sheaves of twisted chiral differential operators (TCDO) on a smooth variety X. We prove an equivalence between certain categories of half-integrable modules over TCDO and categories of (twisted) D-modules on X.
Motivated by deformation quantization, we consider in this paper $^*$-algebras $\mathcal A$ over rings $\ring C = \ring{R}(i)$, where $\ring R$ is an ordered ring and $i^2 = -1$, and study the deformation theory of projective modules over these algebras carrying the additional structure of a (positive) $\mathcal A$-valued inner product. For $A=C^\infty(M)$, M a manifold, these modules can be identified with Hermitian vector bundles E over M. We show that for a fixed Hermitian star-product on M, these modules can always be deformed in a unique way, up to (isometric) equivalence. We observe that…
We present new examples of deformations of smash product algebras that arise from Hopf algebra actions on pairs of module algebras. These examples involve module algebras that are Koszul, in which case a PBW theorem we established previously applies. Our construction generalizes several `double' constructions appearing in the literature, including Weyl algebras and some types of Cherednik algebras, and it complements the braided double construction of Bazlov and Berenstein. Many suggestions of further directions are provided at the end of the work.
Having in mind applications to particle physics we develop the differential calculus over Jordan algebras and the theory of connections on Jordan modules. In particular we focus on differential calculus over the exceptional Jordan algebra and provide a complete characterization of the theory of connections for free Jordan modules.
