Local Weyl modules over two-dimensional currents with values in $gl_r$ are deformed into spaces with bases related to parking functions. Using this construction we
1) propose a simple proof that dimension of the space of diagonal coinvariants is not less than the number of parking functions;
2) describe the limits of Weyl modules in terms of semi-infinite forms and find the limits of characters;
3) propose a lower bound and state a conjecture for dimensions of Weyl modules with arbitrary highest weights.
Also we express characters of deformed Weyl modules in terms of $ρ$-parking functions and the Frobenius characteristic map.
We discuss the deformed function algebra of a simply connected reductive Lie group G over the complex numbers using a basis consisting of matrix elements of finite dimensional representations. This leads to a preferred deformation, meaning one where the structure constants of comultiplication are unchanged. The structure constants of multiplication are controlled by quantum 3j symbols. We then discuss connections earlier work on preferred deformations that involved Schur-Weyl duality.
A higher level analog of Weyl modules over multi-variable currents is proposed. It is shown that the sum of their dual spaces form a commutative algebra. The structure of these modules and the geometry of the projective spectrum of this algebra is studied for the currents of dimension one and two. Along the way we prove some particular cases of the conjectures in [FL1] and propose a generalization of the notion of parking function representations.
A nonlinear transformation in the momentum space is constructed which converts the deformed action of Lorentz and Weyl generators on momenta into the standard one.
The deformation cohomology of a tensor category controls deformations of its monoidal structure. Here we describe the deformation cohomology of tensor categories generated by one object (the so-called Schur-Weyl categories). Using this description we compute the deformation cohomology of free symmetric tensor categories generated by one object with an algebra of endomorphism free of zero-divisors. We compare the answers with the exterior invariants of the general linear Lie algebra.
We give a formula for a cocycle generating the Hochschild cohomology of the Weyl algebra with coefficients in its dual.It is given by an integral over the configuration space of ordered points on a circle. Using this formula and a non-commutative version of formal geometry, we obtain an explicit expression for the canonical trace in deformation quantization of symplectic manifolds.
Deformation theory can be used to compute the cohomology of a deformed algebra with coefficients in itself from that of the original. Using the invariance of the Euler-Poincare characteristic under deformation, it is applied here to compute the cohomology of the Weyl algebra, the algebra of the quantum plane, and the q-Weyl algebra. The behavior of the cohomology when q is a root of unity may encode some number theoretic information.
We consider a natural variant of the Moyal-Weyl product and show that it yields a functorial deformation of differential graded algebras and that we can deform coalgebras in a similar way. The Moyal-Weyl deformation of graded algebras has already been introduced by Fedosov \cite{Fe} and also appears in \cite{Ge} as part of an $A_\infty$ structure, but we are not aware that the analogous result for differential graded coalgebras already appeared in the literature and discuss the Moyal-Weyl of the category of complexes as an example.
We define a three-parameter deformation of the Weyl-Heisenberg algebra that generalizes the q-oscillator algebra. By a purely algebraical procedure, we set up on this quantum space two differential calculi that are shown to be invariant on the same quantum group, extended to a ten-generator Hopf-star-algebra. We prove that, when the values of the parameters are related, the two differential calculi reduce to one that is invariant under two quantum groups.
Given a polynomial P of partial derivatives of the Kahler metric, expressed as a linear combination of directed multigraphs, we prove a simple criterion in terms of the coefficients for $P$ to be an invariant polynomial, i.e. invariant under the transformation of coordinates. As applications, we prove an explicit composition formula for covariant differential operators under a canonical basis, also known as invariant differential operators in the case of bounded symmetric domains. We also prove a general explicit formula of star products on Kahler manifolds.
We canonically quantize the tau-functions for the birational Weyl group action arising from a nilpotent Poisson algebra proposed by Noumi and Yamada. We also construct the q-difference deformation of the canonical quantization of the tau-functions. Using the translation functors for the symmetrizable Kac-Moody algebras, we prove the regularity of the quantum tau-functions, namely, we show that the quantum tau-functions are polynomials in dependent variables.
In this paper we classify all Morita equivalent pairs of (classical) generalized Weyl algebras for generic values of the parameters, thus positively settling a 30 year old question posed by T.Hodges. We also prove a similar result for noncommutative deformations of arbitrary Kleinian singularities provided the corresponding parameters are very generic.
Deformation quantization is a formal deformation of the algebra of smooth functions on some manifold. In the classical setting, the Poisson bracket serves as an initial conditions, while the associativity allows to proceed to higher orders. Some applications to string theory require deformation in the direction of a quasi-Poisson bracket (that does not satisfy the Jacobi identity). This initial condition is incompatible with associativity, it is quite unclear which restrictions can be imposed on the deformation. We show that for any quasi-Poisson bracket the deformation quantization exists and…
$C^*$-algebraic Weyl quantization is extended by allowing also degenerate pre-symplectic forms for the Weyl relations with infinitely many degrees of freedom, and by starting out from enlarged classical Poisson algebras. A powerful tool is found in the construction of Poisson algebras and non-commutative twisted Banach-$*$-algebras on the stage of measures on the not locally compact test function space. Already within this frame strict deformation quantization is obtained, but in terms of Banach-$*$-algebras instead of $C^*$-algebras. Fourier transformation and representation theory of the mea…
We define noncommutative deformations $W_q^s(G)$ of algebras of functions on certain (finite coverings of) transversal slices to the set of conjugacy classes in an algebraic group $G$ which play the role of Slodowy slices in algebraic group theory. The algebras $W_q^s(G)$ called q-W algebras are labeled by (conjugacy classes of) elements $s$ of the Weyl group of $G$. The algebra $W_q^s(G)$ is a quantization of a Poisson structure defined on the corresponding transversal slice in $G$ with the help of Poisson reduction of a Poisson bracket associated to a Poisson-Lie group $G^*$ dual to a quasit…
This is the text of the Hermann Weyl Prize lecture given by the author at the XXIV Colloquium on Group Theoretical Methods in Physics, Paris, July 2002 (to appear in the Proceedings of the Colloquium).
Deformation theory refers to an apparatus in many parts of math and physics for going from an infinitesimal (= first order) deformation to a full deformation, either formal or convergent appropriately. If the algebra being deformed is that of observables, the result is deformation quantization, independent of any realization in terms of Hilbert space operators. There are very important but rare cases in which a formula for a full deformation is known. For physics, the most important is the Moyal-Weyl star product formula. In this paper, we concentrate on deformations of Courant algebroid struc…
Whenever a given Poisson manifold is equipped with discrete symmetries the corresponding algebra of invariant functions or the algebra of functions twisted by the symmetry group can have new deformations, which are not captured by Kontsevich Formality. We consider the simplest example of this situation: $\mathbb{R}^2$ with the reflection symmetry $\mathbb{Z}_2$. The usual quantization leads to the Weyl algebra. While Weyl algebra is rigid, the algebra of even or twisted by $\mathbb{Z}_2$ functions has one more deformation, which was identified by Wigner and is related to Feigin's $gl_λ$ and to…
We present new examples of deformations of smash product algebras that arise from Hopf algebra actions on pairs of module algebras. These examples involve module algebras that are Koszul, in which case a PBW theorem we established previously applies. Our construction generalizes several `double' constructions appearing in the literature, including Weyl algebras and some types of Cherednik algebras, and it complements the braided double construction of Bazlov and Berenstein. Many suggestions of further directions are provided at the end of the work.
We discuss a class of generalized divided difference operators which give rise to a representation of Nichols-Woronowicz algebras associated to Weyl groups. For the root system of type $A,$ we also study the condition for the deformations of the Fomin-Kirillov quadratic algebra, which is a quadratic lift of the Nichols-Woronowicz algebra, to admit a representation given by generalized divided difference operators. The relations satisfied by the mutually commuting elements called Dunkl elements in the deformed Fomin-Kirillov algebra are determined. The Dunkl elements correspond to the truncated…
We compute the Hochschild homology of the crossed product $\Bbb C[S_n]\ltimes A^{\otimes n}$ in terms of the Hochschild homology of the associative algebra $A$ (over $\Bbb C$). It allows us to compute the Hochschild (co)homology of $\Bbb C[W]\ltimes A^{\otimes n}$ where $A$ is the $q$-Weyl algebra or any its degeneration and $W$ is the Weyl group of type $A_{n-1}$ or $B_n$. For a deformation quantization $A_+$ of an affine symplectic variety $X$ we show that the Hochschild homology of $S^n A$, $A=A_+[\hbar^{-1}]$ is additively isomorphic to the Chen-Ruan orbifold cohomology of $S^nX$ with coef…
A mass-like quantum Weyl-Poincare algebra is proposed to describe, after the identification of the deformation parameter with the Planck length, a new relativistic theory with two observer-independent scales (or DSR theory). Deformed momentum representation, finite boost transformations, range of rapidity, energy and momentum, as well as position and velocity operators are explicitly studied and compared with those of previous DSR theories based on kappa-Poincare algebra. The main novelties of the DSR theory here presented are the new features of momentum saturation and a new type of deformed …
Any deformation of a Weyl or Clifford algebra can be realized through a change of generators in the undeformed algebra. q-Deformations of Weyl or Clifford algebrae that were covariant under the action of a simple Lie algebra g are characterized by their being covariant under the action of the quantum group $U_q g$. We present a systematic procedure for determining all possible corresponding changes of generators, together with the corresponding realizations of the $U_q g$-action. The intriguing relation between g-invariants and $U_q g$-invariants suggests that these changes of generators might…
Twisted generalized Weyl algebras (TGWAs) are defined as the quotient of a certain graded algebra by the maximal graded ideal I with trivial zero component, analogous to how Kac-Moody algebras can be defined. In this paper we introduce the class of locally finite TGWAs, and show that one can associate to such an algebra a polynomial Cartan matrix (a notion extending the usual generalized Cartan matrices appearing in Kac-Moody algebra theory) and that the corresponding generalized Serre relations hold in the TGWA. We also give an explicit construction of a family of locally finite TGWAs dependi…
Any deformation of a Weyl or Clifford algebra can be realized through some change of generators in the undeformed algebra. Here we briefly describe and motivate our systematic procedure for constructing all such changes of generators for those particular deformations where the original algebra is covariant undersome Lie group and the deformed algebra is covariant under the corresponding quantum group.
