The space of symbols of differential operators on a smooth manifold (i.e., the space of symmetric contravariant tensor fields) is naturally a module over the Lie algebra of vector fields. We study, in the case of $\bf R^n$ with $n\geq2$, multi-parameter formal deformations of this module. The space of linear differential operators on $\bf R^n$ provides an important class of such formal deformations; we show, however, that the whole space of deformations is much larger.
We study non-trivial deformations of the natural action of the Lie algebra $\mathrm{Vect}({\mathbb R}^n)$ on the space of differential forms on ${\mathbb R}^n$. We calculate abstractions for integrability of infinitesimal multi-parameter deformations and determine the commutative associative algebra corresponding to the miniversal deformation in the sense of \cite{ff}.
If A is a bialgebra over a field k and M, N are either left-right Yetter-Drinfel'd modules or left-right Hopf modules over A, we construct deformation cohomologies H^*(M,N) as total cohomologies of certain double complexes Y(M,N) and C(M,N), respectively. In both cases, H^1(M,N) is isomorphic to the group of equivalence classes of extensions of M by N in the corresponding category. In the Yetter-Drinfel'd case, H^*(k,k) is just the Gerstenhaber-Schack cohomology of the bialgebra A. If M, N are Hopf bimodules we construct a natural subbicomplex of the above C(M,N), yielding a cohomology theory …
We classify nontrivial deformations of the standard embedding of the Lie algebra $\Vect(S^1)$ of smooth vector fields on the circle, into the Lie algebra~$\PD(S^1)$ of pseudodifferential symbols on $S^1$. This approach leads to deformations of the central charge induced on $\Vect(S^1)$ by the canonical central extension of $\PD(S^1)$. As a result we obtain a quantized version of the second Bernoulli polynomial.
We study modules over the algebroid stack $\W[\stx]$ of deformation quantization on a complex symplectic manifold $\stx$ and recall some results: construction of an algebra for $\star$-products, existence of (twisted) simple modules along smooth Lagrangian submanifolds, perversity of the complex of solutions for regular holonomic $\W[\stx]$-modules, finiteness and duality for the composition of ``good'' kernels. As a corollary, we get that the derived category of good $\W[\stx]$-modules with compact support is a Calabi-Yau category. We also give a conjectural Riemann-Roch type formula in this …
The space of m-ary differential operators acting on weighted densities is a (m+1)-parameter family of modules over the Lie algebra of vector fields. For almost all the parameters, we construct a canonical isomorphism between this space and the corresponding space of symbols as sl(2)-modules. This yields to the notion of the sl(2)-equivariant symbol calculus for m-ary differential operators. We show, however, that these two modules cannot be isomorphic as sl(2)-modules for some particular values of the parameters. Furthermore, we use the symbol map to show that all modules of second-order m-ary…
The spaces of linear differential operators on ${\mathbb{R}}^n$ acting on tensor densities of degree $λ$ and the space of functions on $T^*{\mathbb{R}}^n$ which are polynomial on the fibers are not isomorphic as modules over the Lie algebra $\Vect({\mathbb{R}}^n)$ of vector fields on ${\mathbb{R}}^n$. However, these modules are isomorphic as $sl(n+1,{\mathbb{R}})$-modules where $sl(n+1,{\mathbb{R}})\subset \Vect({\mathbb{R}}^n)$ is the Lie algebra of infinitesimal projective transformations. In addition, such an $sl_{n+1}$-equivariant bijection is unique (up to normalization). This leads to a …
Free field representation of level-$k (\not=0,-2)$ Yangian double ${\cal D}Y(sl_2)_k$ and a corresponding deformation of Wakimoto modules are presented. We also realize two types of vertex operators intertwining these modules.
It is shown that the theory of spherical Harish-Chandra modules naturally provides the algebras of covariant, contravariant and mixed symbols on generalized flag manifolds. The general proof of the correspondence principle for all these symbol algebras is given.
Let $(M,ω)$ be a symplectic manifold, $\mathcal{D}\subset TM$ a real polarization on $M$ and $\wp$ a leaf of $\mathcal{D}$. We construct a Fedosov-type star-product $\ast_L$ on $M$ such that $C^\infty (\wp)[[h]]$ has a natural structure of left module over the deformed algebra $(C^\infty (M)[[h]], \ast_L)$. This generalizes the results of 0708.2626.
In this paper, we use the parametrised strict deformation quantization of C*-bundles obtained in a previous paper, and give more examples and applications of this theory. In particular, it is used here to classify H_3-twisted noncommutative torus bundles over a locally compact space. This is extended to the case of general torus bundles and their parametrised strict deformation quantization. Rieffel's basic construction of an algebra deformation can be mimicked to deform a monoidal category, which deforms not only algebras but also modules. As a special case, we consider the parametrised stric…
Relations between the string topology of Chas and Sullivan and the homotopy skein modules of Hoste and Przytycki are studied. This provides new insight into the structure of homotopy skein modules and their meaning in the framework of quantum topology. Our results can be considered as weak extensions to all orientable 3-manifolds of classical results by Turaev and Goldman concerning intersection and skein theory on oriented surfaces.
We introduce the notion of being cohomologically complete for objects of the derived category of sheaves of $Z[\hbar]$-modules on a topological space. Then we consider a $Z[\hbar]$-algebra satisfying some suitable conditions and prove coherency results by using the property of being cohomologically complete. We apply these results to the study of modules over deformation quantization algebroids on complex Poisson manifolds. We prove in particular that under a natural properness condition, the convolution of two coherent kernels over such algebroids is coherent. We also construct the dualizing …
Local Weyl modules over two-dimensional currents with values in $gl_r$ are deformed into spaces with bases related to parking functions. Using this construction we 1) propose a simple proof that dimension of the space of diagonal coinvariants is not less than the number of parking functions; 2) describe the limits of Weyl modules in terms of semi-infinite forms and find the limits of characters; 3) propose a lower bound and state a conjecture for dimensions of Weyl modules with arbitrary highest weights. Also we express characters of deformed Weyl modules in terms of $ρ$-parking functions and …
In this paper, we consider the restriction of finite dimensional $GL_{mn} (\C)$-modules to the subgroup ${GL_m (\C)\times GL_n (\C)}$. In particular, for a Weyl module $V_λ (\C^{mn})$ of $U_q(gl_{mn})$ we construct a representation $W_λ$ of $U_q (gl_m)\otimes U_q (gl_n)$ such that at $q=1$, the restriction of $V_λ (\C^{mn})$ to $U_1 (gl_m)\otimes U_1 (gl_n)$ matches its action on $W_λ$ at $q=1$. Thus $W_λ$ is a $q$-deformation of the module $V_λ$. This is achieved by first constructing a $U_q (gl_m)\otimes U_q (gl_n)$-module $\wedge^k $, a $q$-deformation of the simple $GL_{mn} (\C)$-module $\…
This thesis studies the Bar-Natan skein module of the solid torus with a particular boundary curve system, and in particular a diagrammatic presentation of it due to Russell. This module has deep connections to topology and categorification: it is isomorphic to both the total homology of the (n,n)-Springer variety and the 0th Hochschild homology of the Khovanov arc ring H^n. We can also view the Bar-Natan--Russell skein module from a representation-theoretic viewpoint as an extension of the Frenkel--Khovanov graphical description of the Lusztig dual canonical basis of the nth tensor power of t…
The analogy between Yetter's deformation theory form (lax) monoidal functors and Gerstenahaber's deformation theory for associative algebras is solidified by shown that under reasonable conditions the category of functors with an action of a lax monoidal functor is abelian, that an analogue of the Hochschild cohomology of an algebra with coefficients in a bimodule exists for monoidal functors, and is given by right derived functors. The deformation cohmology of a monoidal natural transformation is shown to be a special case.
Let H be a Hopf algebra, A a left H-module algebra and V a left H-module A-bimodule. We study the behavior of the right A-linear endomorphisms of V under twist deformation. We in particular construct a bijective quantization map to the right A_\star-linear endomorphisms of V_\star, with A_\star,V_\star denoting the usual twist deformations of A,V. The quantization map is extended to right A-linear homomorphisms between left H-module A-bimodules and to right connections on V. We then investigate the tensor product of linear maps between left H-modules. Given a quasitriangular Hopf algebra we ca…
In this work various symbol spaces with values in a sequentially complete locally convex vector space are introduced and discussed. They are used to define vector-valued oscillatory integrals which allow to extend Rieffel's strict deformation quantization to the framework of sequentially complete locally convex algebras and modules with separately continuous products and module structures, making use of polynomially bounded actions of $\mathbb{R}^n$. Several well-known integral formulas for star products are shown to fit into this general setting, and a new class of examples involving compactl…
In certain neighborhood $U$ of an arbitrary point of a symplectic manifold $M$ we construct a Fedosov-type star-product $\ast_L$ such that for an arbitrary leaf $\wp$ of a given polarization $\mathcal{D}\subset TM$ the algebra $C^\infty (\wp \cap U)[[h]]$ has a natural structure of left module over the deformed algebra $(C^\infty (U)[[h]], \ast_L)$. With certain additional assumptions on $M$, $\ast_L$ becomes a so-called star-product with separation of variables.
A unified approach to geometric, symbol and deformation quantizations on a generalized flag manifold endowed with an invariant pseudo-Kaehler structure is proposed. The Hilbert space of states is realized via the Bott-Borel-Weil theorem in the sheaf cohomology of the geometric quantization line bundle. The corresponding deformation quantization is a quantization with separation of variables. In particular cases we arrive at Berezin's quantization via covariant and contravariant symbols.
In 1978 Kostant suggested the Whittaker model of the center of the universal enveloping algebra U(g) of a complex simple Lie algebra g. The main result is that the center of U(g) is isomorphic to a commutative subalgebra in U(b), where b is a Borel subalgebra in g. This observation is used in the theory of principal series representations of the corresponding Lie group G and in the proof of complete integrability of the quantum Toda lattice. In this paper we generalize the Kostant's construction to quantum groups. In our construction we use quantum analogues of regular nilpotent elements defin…
We compute two-term skein modules of framed oriented links in oriented 3-manifolds. They contain the self-writhe and total linking number invariants of framed oriented links in a universal way. The relations in a natural presentation of the skein module are interpreted as monodromies in the space of immersions from circles to the 3-manifold.
Let R be a commutative ring, q a unit of R and P a multiplicatively antisymmetric matrix with coefficients which are integers powers of q. Denote by SE(q,P) the multiparameter quantum matrix bialgebra associated to q and P.Slightly generalizing [Hashimoto-Hayashi,Tohoku Math.Tohoku Math.J. 44(1992)],we define a multiparameter deformation $L_{ł/μ}V_P$ of the classical skew Schur module. In case R is a field and q is not a root of 1, arguments like those given in [H-H] show that $L_{ł/μ}V_P$ is irreducible and its decomposition into irreducibles is $\sum_νc(ł/μ;ν)L_νV_P$ where the coefficients ar…
Let $H$ be a Hopf algebra over a commutative ring $k$ with unity and $σ:H\otimes H\longrightarrow k$ be a cocycle on $H$. In this paper, we show that the Yetter-Drinfeld module category of the cocycle deformation Hopf algebra $H^σ$ is equivalent to the Yetter-Drinfeld module category of $H$. As a result of the equivalence, the "quantum Brauer" group BQ$(k,H)$ is isomorphic to BQ$(k,H^σ)$. Moreover, the group $\Gal(\HR)$ constructed in \cite{Z} is studied under a cocycle deformation.
A coordinate-free definition for Wick-type symbols is given for symplectic manifolds by means of the Fedosov procedure. The main ingredient of this approach is a bilinear symmetric form defined on the complexified tangent bundle of the symplectic manifold and subject to some set of algebraic and differential conditions. It is precisely the structure which describes a deviation of the Wick-type star-product from the Weyl one in the first order in the deformation parameter. The geometry of the symplectic manifolds equipped by such a bilinear form is explored and a certain analogue of the Newland…
We construct twisting elements for module algebras of restricted two-parameter quantum groups from factors of their R-matrices. We generalize the theory of Giaquinto and Zhang to universal deformation formulas for categories of module algebras and give examples arising from R-matrices of two-parameter quantum groups.
We construct highest-weight modules and a Yangian extension of the centrally extended sl(1|1)^2 superalgebra, that is a symmetry of the worldsheet scattering associated with the AdS3/CFT3 duality. We demonstrate that the R-matrix intertwining atypical modules is of a trigonometric type. We also consider a quantum deformation of this superalgebra, its modules, and obtain a quantum affine extension of the Drinfeld-Jimbo type that describes a deformed worldsheet scattering.
Let g be an untwisted affine Kac-Moody algebra and M_J(lambda) a Verma-type module for g with J-highest integral weight lambda. We construct quantum Verma-type modules M_J^q(lambda) over the quantum group U_q(g), investigate their properties and show that M_J^q(lambda) is a true quantum deformation of M_J(ł) in the sense that the weight structure is preserved under the deformation. We also analyze the submodule structure of quantum Verma-type modules.
We give a new construction of strict deformation quantization of symplectic manifolds equipped with a proper Lagrangian fiber bundle structure, whose representation spaces are the quantum Hilbert spaces obtained by geometric quantization. The construction can be regarded as a "lattice approximation of the correspondence between differential operators and principal symbols". We analyze the corresponding formal deformation quantization. We also investigate into relations between our construction and Berezin-Toeplitz deformation quantization.
We classify in this paper Poisson structures on modules over semisimple Lie algebras arising from classical r-matrices. We then study their quantizations and the relation to classical invariant theory.
Motivated by deformation quantization, we consider in this paper $^*$-algebras $\mathcal A$ over rings $\ring C = \ring{R}(i)$, where $\ring R$ is an ordered ring and $i^2 = -1$, and study the deformation theory of projective modules over these algebras carrying the additional structure of a (positive) $\mathcal A$-valued inner product. For $A=C^\infty(M)$, M a manifold, these modules can be identified with Hermitian vector bundles E over M. We show that for a fixed Hermitian star-product on M, these modules can always be deformed in a unique way, up to (isometric) equivalence. We observe that…
We present new examples of deformations of smash product algebras that arise from Hopf algebra actions on pairs of module algebras. These examples involve module algebras that are Koszul, in which case a PBW theorem we established previously applies. Our construction generalizes several `double' constructions appearing in the literature, including Weyl algebras and some types of Cherednik algebras, and it complements the braided double construction of Bazlov and Berenstein. Many suggestions of further directions are provided at the end of the work.
