We consider a single particle which is bound by a central potential and obeys the Dirac equation in d dimensions. We first apply the asymptotic iteration method to recover the known exact solutions for the pure Coulomb case. For a screened-Coulomb potential and for a Coulomb plus linear potential with linear scalar confinement, the method is used to obtain accurate approximate solutions for both eigenvalues and wave functions.
Covergent eigensolutions of the Dirac Equation for a relativistic electron in an external Coulomb potential are obtained using the Lanczos Algorithm. A tri-diagonal matrix representation of the Dirac Hamiltonian operator is constructed iteratively and diagonalized after each iteration step to form a sequence of convergent eigenvalue solutions. Any spurious solutions which arise from the presence of continuum states can easily be identified.
We define a new class of partial differential equations of first order (complex covariantly equipped systems of equations), which are invariant with respect to (pseudo)orthogonal changes of cartesian coordinates of (pseudo)euclidian space. It is shown that for pseudoeuclidian spaces of signature (1,n-1) covariantly equipped systems of equation can be written in the form of Friedrichs symmetric hyperbolic systems of equations of first order. We prove that Dirac and Dirac-Hestenes model equations belong to the class of covariantly equipped systems of equations.
A relationship between the discrete Dirac-Kähler equation and discrete analogues of some Dirac type equations in the geometric spacetime algebra is discussed. We show that a solution of the discrete Dirac-Kähler equation can be represented as the sum and difference of solutions of discrete Dirac type equations with the corresponding sign of the mass term.
Recently, we have demonstrated that some subsolutions of the free Duffin-Kemmer-Petiau and the Dirac equations obey the same Dirac equation with some built-in projection operators. In the present paper we study the Dirac equation in the interacting case. It is demonstrated that the Dirac equation in longitudinal external fields can be also splitted into two covariant subequations.

We study subsolutions of the Dirac and Duffin-Kemmer-Petiau equations described in our earlier papers. It is shown that subsolutions of the Duffin-Kemmer-Petiau equations and those of the Dirac equation obey the same Dirac equation with some built-in projection operator. This covariant equation can be referred to as supersymmetric since it has bosonic as well as fermionic degrees of freedom.
We suggest a so-called Dirac type tensor equation with nonabelian gauge symmetry on pseudo-Riemannian space. This equation reproduce some of the properties of spinor Dirac equation. A geometrical interpretation of results in terms of Riemannian geometry is given.
A derivation of the Dirac equation in `3+1' dimensions is presented based on a master equation approach originally developed for the `1+1' problem by McKeon and Ord. We have proved on the basis of the symmetry analysis of the standard Dirac equation with nonzero mass that this equation may describe not only fermions of spin 1/2, but also bosons of spin 1. The new bosonic symmetries of the Dirac equation in both the Foldy -- Wouthuysen and the Pauli -- Dirac representations are found. It is shown that the second order symmetry operators for the Dirac equation on a general two-dimensional spin manifold may be expressed in terms of Killing vectors and valence two Killing tensors. The role of these operators in the theory of separation of variables for the Dirac equation is studied.
We present a so called Dirac-type tensor equation (DTTE). This equation is written in coordinateless form with the aid of differential operators $d$ and $δ$. A wave function of DTTE belongs to a minimal left ideal of the algebra of exterior forms with respect to the Clifford product. The consideration of the Fermi - Bose duality of the Dirac equation with arbitrary mass has been continued. The bosonic solutions of this equation in the Foldy - Wouthuysen representation are found. The Maxwell-Dirac equations are the equations for electronic matter, the "classical" theory underlying QED. In this article we examine the stationary Maxwell-Dirac equations under weak regularity and decay assumptions. We prove that: There are no embedded eigenvalues in the essential spectrum, $-m\leq E\leq m$. If $|E|< m$ then the Dirac field components (and their derivatives) decay exponentially at spatial infinity. If $E|=m$ then the system is "asymptotically" static and decays exponentially if the total charge is non-zero.

We discuss the application of recent results on generalized solutions to the Cauchy problem for hyperbolic systems to Dirac equations with external fields. In further analysis we focus on the question of existence of associated distributional limits and derive their explicit form in case of free Dirac fields with regularizations of initial values corresponding to point-like probability densities.
In the present paper we study subsolutions of the Dirac equation. The known examples of such subsolutions are the Weyl neutrino and the Majorana neutrino. It is shown that the Dirac equation for a massive non-interacting particle admits another decomposition into two separate equations. It is suggested that such particles can be identified with weakly interacting massive particles, other than neutrinos and of non-exotic nature, which can be candidates for dark matter.

We investigate the local energy decay of solutions of the Dirac equation in the non-extreme Kerr-Newman metric. First, we write the Dirac equation as a Cauchy problem and define the Dirac operator. It is shown that the Dirac operator is selfadjoint in a suitable Hilbert space. With the RAGE theorem, we show that for each particle its energy located in any compact region outside of the event horizon of the Kerr-Newman black hole decays in the time mean.

We considered an extension of the standard functional for the Einstein-Dirac equation where the Dirac operator is replaced by the square of the Dirac operator and a real parameter controlling the length of spinors is introduced. For one distinguished value of the parameter, the resulting Euler-Lagrange equations provide a new type of Einstein-Dirac coupling. We propose nonlinear Dirac equations where the conformal degree of the self-interaction terms are equal to that of the Dirac operator and the coupling parameters are dimensionless. As such, the massless equation is conformally invariant and preserves the conformal degree for both the linear and nonlinear components. In 2+1 space-time, we use these features to propose three- and four-parameter nonlinear Dirac equation models that might be useful for applications in 2D systems such as graphene sheets, ribbons and nanotubes.
We study the evolution equations for a regularized version of Dirac-geodesics, which are the one-dimensional version of Dirac-harmonic maps. We show that for the regularization being sufficiently large, the evolution equations subconverge to a regularized Dirac-geodesic. In the end, we discuss the limiting process of removing the regularization.

In this article we develop energy methods for a large class of linear and nonlinear Dirac-type equations in two-dimensional Minkowski space. We will derive existence results for several Dirac-type equations originating in quantum field theory, in particular for Dirac-wave maps to compact Riemannian manifolds.

We show that Bose-Einstein condensates in a honeycomb optical lattice are described by a nonlinear Dirac equation in the long wavelength, mean field limit. Unlike nonlinear Dirac equations posited by particle theorists, which are designed to preserve the principle of relativity, i.e., Poincaré covariance, the nonlinear Dirac equation for Bose-Einstein condensates breaks this symmetry. We study the qualitative behavior of nonlinear Dirac equations arising in quantum field theory on complete Riemannian manifolds. In particular, we derive monotonicity formulas and Liouville theorems for solutions of these equations. Finally, we extend our analysis to Dirac-harmonic maps with curvature term.
