In this paper, we consider a class of balanced manifolds and provide a proof of a problem proposed by Silva-that compact complex manifolds that are Kahler outside an analytic subset are balanced. Next, as a special case of this theorem, we prove that compact complex manifolds which are Kahler outside a Kahler submanifold are class C. Finally, we prove that a blow up along a submanifold of Hironaka's examples are Kahler, and we establish that Hironaka's examples are examples of this theorem.
Consider a divisor D with simple normal crossings in a compact Kähler manifold X. We show in this article that a Kähler metric in an arbitrary class, with constant scalar curvature and cusp singularities along the divisor is unique in this class when K[D] is ample. This we do by generalizing Chen's construction of approximate geodesics in the space of Kähler metrics, and proving an approximate version of the Calabi-Yau theorem, both independently of the ampleness of K[D].
In this paper, we study Higgs bundles on non-compact Hermitian manifolds. Under some assumptions for the underlying Hermitian manifolds which are not necessarily Kähler, we solve the Hermitian-Einstein equation on analytically stable Higgs bundles.
In the case of a compact real analytic symplectic manifold M we describe an approach to the complexification of Hamiltonian flows [Se, Do1, Th1] and corresponding geodesics on the space of Kahler metrics. In this approach, motivated by recent work on quantization, the complexified Hamiltonian flows act, through the Grobner theory of Lie series, on the sheaf of complex valued real analytic functions, changing the sheaves of holomorphic functions. This defines an action on the space of (equivalent) complex structures on M and also a direct action on M. This description is related to the approach…
We show that the classical Szasz analytic function $S_N(f)(x)$ is obtained by applying the pseudo-differential operator $f(N^{-1}D_θ)$ to the Bergman kernels for the Bargmann-Fock space. The expression generalizes immediately to any smooth polarized noncompact complete toric \kahler manifold, defining the generalized Szasz analytic function $S_{h^N}(f)(x)$. About $S_{h^N}(f)(x)$, we prove that it admits complete asymptotics and there exists a universal scaling limit. % We also consider some dilation operator composed with $S_{h^N}(f)(x)$ and we give an estimate about this composition. As an ex…
Lagrangian submanifolds in strict nearly Kähler 6-manifolds are related to special Lagrangian submanifolds in Calabi-Yau 6-manifolds and coassociative cones in $G_2$-manifolds. We prove that the mean curvature of a Lagrangian submanifold $L$ in a nearly Kähler manifold $(M^{2n}, J, g)$ is symplectically dual to the Maslov 1-form on $L$. Using relative calibrations, we derive a formula for the second variation of the volume of a Lagrangian submanifold $L^3$ in a strict nearly Kähler manifold $(M^6, J, g)$. This formula implies, in particular, that any formal infinitesimal Lagrangian deformation…
In this paper, we consider a natural map from the Kahler cone to the balanced cone of a Kahler manifold. We study its injectivity and surjecticity. We also give an analytic characterization theorem on a nef class being Kahler.
In this paper we study the extension of holomorphic canonical forms on complete d-bounded Kahler manifolds by using L2 analytic methods and L2 Hogde theory, which generalizes some classical results to noncompact cases.
We give an algebraic criterion for the existence of projectively Hermitian-Yang-Mills metrics on a holomorphic vector bundle $E$ over some complete non-compact Kähler manifolds $(X,ω)$, where $X$ is the complement of a divisor in a compact Kähler manifold and we impose some conditions on the cohomology class and the asymptotic behaviour of the Kähler form $ω$. We introduce the notion of stability with respect to a pair of $(1,1)$-classes which generalizes the standard slope stability. We prove that this new stability condition is both sufficient and necessary for the existence of projectively …
On Kahler manifolds with Ricci curvature lower bound, assuming the real analyticity of the metric, we establish a sharp relative volume comparison theorem for small balls. The model spaces being compared to are complex space forms, i.e, Kahler manifolds with constant holomorphic sectional curvature. Moreover, we give an example showing that on Kahler manifolds, the pointwise Laplacian comparison theorem does not hold when the Ricci curvature is bounded from below.
We characterize the global maximizers of a certain non-local functional defined on the space of all positively curved metrics on an ample line bundle L over a Kahler manifold X. This functional is an adjoint version, introduced by Berndtsson, of Donaldson's L-functional and generalizes the Ding-Tian functional whose critical points are Kahler-Einstein metrics of positive Ricci curvature. Applications to (1) analytic torsions on Fano manifolds (2) Chern-Simons-Higgs vortices on tori and (3) Kahler geometry are given. In particular, proofs of conjectures of (1) Gillet-Soulé and Fang (concerning …
It is proved by Kawamata that the canonical bundle of a projective manifold is semi-ample if it is big and nef. We give an analytic proof using the Ricci flow, degeneration of Riemannian manifolds and $L^2$-theory. Combined with our earlier results, we construct unique singular Kahler-Einstein metrics with a global Riemannian structure on canonical models. Our approach can be viewed as the Kodaira embedding theorem on singular metric spaces with canonical Kahler metrics.
Let X be a quasiprojective manifold given by the complement of a divisor $\bD$ with normal crossings in a smooth projective manifold $\bX$. Using a natural compactification of $X$ by a manifold with corners $\tX$, we describe the full asymptotic behavior at infinity of certain complete Kahler metrics of finite volume on X. When these metrics evolve according to the Ricci flow, we prove that such asymptotic behaviors persist at later time by showing the associated potential function is smooth up to the boundary on the compactification $\tX$. However, when the divisor $\bD$ is smooth with $K_{\b…
Given a sequence of complete(compact or noncompact) Kähler manifolds $M^n_i$ with bisectional curvature lower bound and noncollapsed volume, we prove that the pointed Gromov-Hausdorff limit is homeomorphic to a normal complex analytic space. The complex analytic structure is the natural "limit" of complex structure of $M_i$.
We construct a canonical Hausdorff complex analytic moduli space of Fano manifolds with Kähler-Ricci solitons. This naturally enlarges the moduli space of Fano manifolds with Kähler-Einstein metrics, which was constructed by Odaka and Li-Wang-Xu. We discover a moment map picture for Kähler-Ricci solitons, and give complex analytic charts on the topological space consisting of Kähler-Ricci solitons, by studying differential geometric aspects of this infinite dimensional moment map. Some stacky words and arguments on Gromov-Hausdorff convergence help to glue them together in the holomorphic mann…
We consider the complex Monge-Ampére equation on complete Kähler manifolds with cusp singularity along a divisor when the right hand side $F$ has rather weak regularity. We proved that when the right hand side $F$ is in some \emph{weighted} $W^{1,p_0}$ space for $p_0 > 2n$, the Monge-Ampére equation has a classical $W^{3,p_0}$ solution.
We consider the Kähler Ricci flow on a smooth minimal model of general type, we show that if the Ricci curvature is uniformly bounded below along the Kähler-Ricci flow, then the diameter is uniformly bounded. As a corollary we show that under the Ricci curvature lower bound assumption, the Gromov-Hausdorff limit of the flow is homeomorphic to the canonical model. Moreover, we can give a purely analytic proof of a recent result of Tosatti-Zhang (\cite{TZ}) that if the canonical line bundle $K_X$ is big and nef, but not ample, then the flow is of Type IIb.
In 1991, Dajczer and Rodriguez proved in [10] that a complete minimal real Kahler submanifold of codimension 2, if with complex dimension > 2, would be either holomorphic, or a cylinder, or complex ruled. In this article, we generalize their result to real analytic complete real Kahler submanifolds of codimension 4. The conclusion is that such the submanifold, if with complex dimension > 4, would be either partially holomorphic, or a cylinder, or a twisted cylinder in the sense that the complex relative nullity foliation is contained in a strictly larger holomorphic foliation, whose leaves are…
We prove that the non-Kahler locus of a nef and big class on a compact complex manifold bimeromorphic to a Kahler manifold equals its null locus. In particular this gives an analytic proof of a theorem of Nakamaye and Ein-Lazarsfeld-Mustata-Nakamaye-Popa. As an application, we show that finite time non-collapsing singularities of the Kahler-Ricci flow on compact Kahler manifolds always form along analytic subvarieties, thus answering a question of Feldman-Ilmanen-Knopf and Campana. We also extend the second author's results about noncollapsing degenerations of Ricci-flat Kahler metrics on Cala…
Let $P$ be a Delzant polytope. We show that the quantization of the corresponding toric manifold $X_{P}$ in toric Kähler polarizations and in the toric real polarization are related by analytic continuation of Hamiltonian flows evaluated at time $t = \sqrt{-1} s$. We relate the quantization of $X_{P}$ in two different toric Kähler polarizations by taking the time-$\sqrt{-1} s$ Hamiltonian "flow" of strongly convex functions on the moment polytope $P$. By taking $s$ to infinity, we obtain the quantization of $X_{P}$ in the (singular) real toric polarization. Recall that $X_{P}$ has an open dens…
The study of Kähler immersions of a given real analytic Kähler manifold into a finite or infinite dimensional complex space form originates from the pioneering work of Eugenio Calabi [10]. With a stroke of genius Calabi defines a powerful tool, a special (local) potential called diastasis function, which allows him to obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for a neighbourhood of a point to be locally Kähler immersed into a finite or infinite dimensional complex space form. As application of its criterion, he also provides a classification of (finite dimensional) complex space forms admitti…
We show that non-collapsed Gromov-Hausdorff limits of polarized Kahler manifolds, with Ricci curvature bounded below, are normal projective varieties, and the metric singularities of the limit space are precisely given by a countable union of analytic subvarieties. This extends a fundamental result of Donaldson-Sun, in which 2-sided Ricci curvature bounds were assumed. As a basic ingredient we show that, under lower Ricci curvature bounds, almost Euclidean balls in Kahler manifolds admit good holomorphic coordinates. Further applications are integral bounds for the scalar curvature on balls, a…
Let $X$ be a complex manifold and $S\hookrightarrow X$ be an embedding of complex submanifold. Assuming that the embedding is $(k-1)$-linearizable or $(k-1)$-comfortably embedded, we construct via the deformation to the normal cone a diffeomorphism $F$ from a small neighborhood of the zero section in the normal bundle $N_{S}$ to a small neighborhood of $S$ in $X$ such that $F$ is in a precise sense holomorphic to the $(k-1)$-th order. Using this $F$ we obtain optimal estimates on asymptotical rates for asymptotically conical Calabi-Yau metrics constructed by Tian-Yau. Furthermore, when $S$ is …
We present a correspondence between real analytic Kähler toric manifolds and dually flat spaces, similar to Delzant correspondence in symplectic geometry. This correspondence gives rise to a lifting procedure: if $f:M\to M'$ is an affine isometric map between dually flat spaces and if $N$ and $N'$ are Kähler toric manifolds associated to $M$ and $M'$, respectively, then there is an equivariant Kähler immersion $N\to N'$. For example, we show that the Veronese and Segre embeddings are lifts of inclusion maps between appropriate statistical manifolds. We also discuss applications to Quantum Mech…
We study a fully nonlinear PDE involving a linear combination of symmetric polynomials of the Kähler form on a Kähler manifold. A $C^0$ \emph{a priori} estimate is proven in general and a gradient estimate is proven in certain cases. Independently, we also provide a method-of-continuity proof via a path of Kähler metrics to recover the existence of solutions in some of the known cases. Known results are then applied to an analytic problem arising from Chern-Weil theory and to a special Lagrangian-type equation arising from mirror symmetry.
We show that the Cigar metric on $\mathbb{C}$ is an example of real analytic Kähler manifold with globally defined and positive Calabi's diastasis function which cannot be Kähler immersed into any (finite or infinite dimensional) complex space form.
We study the Yang-Mills flow on a holomorphic vector bundle E over a compact Kahler manifold X. We construct a natural barrier function along the flow, and introduce some techniques to study the blow-up of the curvature along the flow. Making some technical assumptions, we show how our techniques can be used to prove that the curvature of the evolved connection is uniformly bounded away from an analytic subvariety determined by the Harder-Narasimhan-Seshadri filtration of E. We also discuss how our assumptions are related to stability in some simple cases.
Let $π: \mathcal{X}^* \rightarrow B^*$ be an algebraic family of compact Kähler manifolds of complex dimension $n$ with negative first Chern class over a punctured disc $B^*\in \mathbb{C}$. Let $g_t$ be the unique Kähler-Einstein metric on $\mathcal{X}_t= π^{-1}(t)$. We show that as $t\rightarrow 0$, $(\mathcal{X}_t, g_t)$ converges in pointed Gromov-Hausdorff topology to a unique finite disjoint union of complete metric length spaces $\coprod_{α=1}^\mathcal{A} (Y_α, d_α)$ without loss of volume. Each $(Y_α, d_α)$ is a smooth open Kähler-Einstein manifold of complex dimension n outside its clo…
In this paper we will first show some Kollar-Enoki type injectivity theorems on compact Kahler manifolds, by using the Hodge theory, the Bochner- Kodaira-Nakano identity and the analytic method provided by O. Fujino and S. Matsumura in [15, 25, 36, 39]. We have some straightforward corollaries. In particular, we will show that our main injectivity theorem implies several Nadel type vanishing theorems on smooth projective manifolds. Second, by applying the transcendental method, especially the Demailly-Peternell-Schneider equisingular approximation theorem and the Hormander L2 estimates, we wil…
Given a compact Kähler manifold, Geometric Invariant Theory is applied to construct analytic GIT-quotients that are local models for a classifying space of (poly)stable holomorphic vector bundles containing the coarse moduli space of stable bundles as an open subspace. For local models invariant generalized Weil-Petersson forms exist on the parameter spaces, which are restrictions of symplectic forms on smooth ambient spaces. If the underlying Kähler manifold is of Hodge type, then the Weil-Petersson form on the moduli space of stable vector bundles is known to be the Chern form of a certain d…
We introduce new tools for analytic microlocal analysis on Kähler manifolds. As an application, we prove that the space of Berezin-Toeplitz operators with analytic contravariant symbol is an algebra. We also give a short proof of the Bergman kernel asymptotics up to an exponentially small error.

In this paper, we study the analytic continuation to complex time of the Hamiltonian flow of certain $G\times T$-invariant functions on the cotangent bundle of a compact connected Lie group $G$ with maximal torus $T$. Namely, we will take the Hamiltonian flows of one $G\times G$-invariant function, $h$, and one $G\times T$-invariant function, $f$. Acting with these complex time Hamiltonian flows on $G\times G$-invariant Kähler structures gives new $G\times T$-invariant, but not $G\times G$-invariant, Kähler structures on $T^*G$. We study the Hilbert spaces ${\mathcal H}_{τ,σ}$ corresponding to…
