The $t$-adic symmetric multiple zeta values were defined Jarossay, which have been studied as a real analogue of $\boldsymbol{p}$-adic finite multiple zeta values. In this paper, we consider the star analogues based on several regularization processes of multiple zeta-star values: harmonic regularization, shuffle regularization, and Kaneko-Yamamoto's type regularization.
We also present the cyclic sum formula for $t$-adic symmetric multiple zeta(-star) values, which is the counterpart of that for $\boldsymbol{p}$-adic finite multiple zeta(-star) values obtained by Kawasaki. The proof uses our new relationship that connects the cyclic sum formula for $t$-adic symmetric multiple zeta-star values and that for the multiple zeta-star values.
The cyclic sum formulas for multiple zeta and zeta-star values were respectively proved by Hoffman and Ohno, and Ohno and Wakabayashi. Kawasaki and Oyama obtained an analogous formulas for finite multiple zeta and zeta-star values. In this paper, we give a generalization of Kawasaki and Oyama's results.
We introduce an algebraic formulation of cyclic sum formulas for multiple zeta values and for multiple zeta-star values. We also present an algebraic proof of cyclic sum formulas for multiple zeta values and for multiple zeta-star values by reducing them to Kawashima relation.
The cyclic relation obtained in a study by Hirose, Murakami, and the first-named author, is a wide class of relations, which includes the well-known cyclic sum formula for multiple zeta and zeta-star values, and the derivation relation for multiple zeta values. In this paper, we present its generalization to complex variables. Our proof includes a new proof of the cyclic relation.
We prove an identity for multiple zeta star values, which generalises some identities due to Imatomi, Tanaka, Tasaka and Wakabayashi. This identity gives an analogue of cyclic insertion type identities, for multiple zeta star values, and connects the block decomposition with Zhao's generalised 2-1 formula.
We consider a cyclic analogue of multiple zeta values (CMZVs), which has two kinds of expressions; series and integral expression. We prove an `integral$=$series' type identity for CMZVs. By using this identity, we construct two classes of $\mathbb{Q}$-linear relations among CMZVs. One of them is a generalization of the cyclic sum formula for multiple zeta-star values. We also give an alternative proof of the derivation relation for multiple zeta values.
In this paper, we give identities involving cyclic sums of regularized multiple zeta values of depth less than $5$. As a corollary, we present two kinds of extensions of Hoffman's theorem for symmetric sums of multiple zeta values for this case.
In this paper, we shall show that certain signed cyclic sums of Mordell-Tornheim L-values are rational linear combinations of products of multiple L-values of lower depths (i.e., reducible). This simultaneously generalizes some results of Subbarao and Sitaramachandrarao, and Matsumoto et al. As a direct corollary, we can prove that for any integer k>2 and positive integer n, the Mordell-Tornheim sums zeta_\MT(\{n\}_k) is reducible.
We prove the cyclic sum formulas for certain two-parameter multiple series. These are new and non-trivial generalizations of the cyclic sum formulas for multiple zeta values and multiple zeta-star values.
The cyclic insertion conjecture of Borwein, Bradley, Broadhurst and Lisoněk states that by inserting all cyclic permutations of some initial blocks of 2's into the multiple zeta value $ ζ(1,3,\ldots,1,3) $ and summing, one obtains an explicit rational multiple of a power of $ π$. Hoffman gives a conjectural identity of a similar flavour concerning $ 2 ζ(3,3,\{2\}^m) - ζ(3,\{2\}^m,(1,2)) $. In this paper we introduce the 'generalised cyclic insertion conjecture', which we describe using a new combinatorial structure on iterated integrals -- the so-called alternating block decomposition. We see …
We study a variant of multiple zeta values of level 2, which forms a subspace of the space of alternating multiple zeta values. This variant, which is regarded as the `shuffle counterpart' of Hoffman's `odd variant', exhibits nice properties such as duality, shuffle product, parity results, etc., like ordinary multiple zeta values. We also give some conjectures on relations between our values, Hoffman's values, and multiple zeta values.
The multiple zeta values are generalizations of the values of the Riemann zeta function at positive integers. They are known to satisfy a number of relations, among which are the cyclic sum formula. The cyclic sum formula can be stratified via linear operators defined by the second and third authors. We give the number of relations belonging to each stratum by combinatorial arguments.
We describe an algorithm to compute the zeta function of a cyclic cover of the projective line over a finite field of characteristic $p$ that runs in time $p^{1/2 + o(1)}$. We confirm its practicality and effectiveness by reporting on the performance of our SageMath implementation on a range of examples. The algorithm relies on Gonçalves's generalization of Kedlaya's algorithm for cyclic covers, and Harvey's work on Kedlaya's algorithm for large characteristic.
We define polynomials of one variable t whose values at t=0 and 1 are the multiple zeta values and the multiple zeta-star values, respectively. We give an application to the two-one conjecture of Ohno-Zudilin, and also prove the cyclic sum formula for these polynomials.
In this paper we present some new identities for multiple polylogarithms (abbr. MPLs) and multiple harmonic star sums (abbr. MHSSs) by using the methods of iterated integral computations of logarithm functions. Then, by applying these formulas obtained, we establish some explicit relations between Kaneko-Yamamoto type multiple zeta values (abbr. K-Y MZVs), multiple zeta values (abbr. MZVs) and MPLs. Further, we find some explicit relations between MZVs and multiple zeta star values (abbr. MZSVs). Furthermore, we define an Apéry-type variant of MZSVs $ζ^\star_B({\bf k})$ (called multiple zeta $…
In this paper, we give elementary proofs of Zagier's formula for multiple zeta values involving Hoffman element and its odd variant due to Murakami. Zagier's formula was a key ingredient in the proof of Hoffman's conjecture. Moreover, using the same approach, we prove Murakami's formula for multiple $t$-values. This formula is essential in proving a Brown type result which asserts that each multiple zeta value is a $\mathbb{Q}$-linear combination of multiple $t$-values of the same weight involving $2$'s and $3$'s.
Alternating variants of multiple poly-Bernoulli numbers and finite multiple zeta values in characteristic 0 and p This paper consists of two parts: the characteristic 0 part and the characteristic p part. In characteristic 0 part, we introduce an alternating extension of multiple poly-Bernoulli numbers of K. Imatomi, M. Kaneko and E. Takeda and obtain explicit presentations of the alternating finite multiple zeta values introduced by J. Zhao in term of the alternating extension of multiple poly-Bernoulli numbers. In characteristic p part, we introduce positive characteristic analogues of alter…
In this paper, we define and study a variant of multiple zeta values of level 2 (which is called multiple mixed values or multiple $M$-values, MMVs for short), which forms a subspace of the space of alternating multiple zeta values. This variant includes both Hoffman's multiple $t$-values and Kaneko-Tsumura's multiple $T$-values as special cases. We set up the algebra framework for the double shuffle relations (DBSFs) of the MMVs, and exhibits nice properties such as duality, integral shuffle relation, series stuffle relation, etc., similar to ordinary multiple zeta values. Moreover, we study …
We give a parameterized generalization of the sum formula for quadruple zeta values. The generalization has four parameters, and is invariant under a cyclic group of order four. By substituting special values for the parameters, we also obtain weighted sum formulas for quadruple zeta values, which contain some known results.
We study a polynomial interpolation of finite multiple zeta and zeta-star values with variable $t$, which is an analogue of interpolated multiple zeta values introduced by Yamamoto. We introduce several relations among them and, in particular, prove the cyclic sum formula, the Bowman-Bradley type formula, and the weighted sum formula. The harmonic relation, the shuffle relation, the duality relation, and the derivation relation are also presented.
Multiple zeta values (MZVs) with certain repeated arguments or certain sums of cyclically generated MZVs are evaluated as rational multiple of powers of $π^2$. In this paper, we give a short and simple proof of the remarkable evaluations of MZVs established by D. Borman and D. M. Bradley.
We study several variants of Euler sums by using the methods of contour integration and residue theorem. These variants exhibit nice properties such as closed forms, reduction, etc., like classical Euler sums. In addition, we also define a variant of multiple zeta values of level 2, and give some identities on relations between these variants of Euler sums and the variant of multiple zeta values.
We construct variants of the Riemann zeta function with convenient properties and make conjectures about their dynamics; some of the conjectures are based on an analogy with the dynamical system of zeta. More specifically, we study the family of functions $V_z: s \mapsto ζ(s) \exp (zs)$. We observe convergence of $V_z$ fixed points along nearly logarithmic spirals with initial points at zeta fixed points and centered upon Riemann zeros. We can approximate these spirals numerically, so they might afford a means to study the geometry of the relationship of zeta fixed points to Riemann zeros.
For positive integers $i_1,...,i_k$ with $i_1 > 1$, we define the multiple $t$-value $t(i_1,...,i_k)$ as the sum of those terms in the usual infinite series for the multiple zeta value $ζ(i_1,...,i_k)$ with odd denominators. Like the multiple zeta values, the multiple $t$-values can be multiplied according to the rules of the harmonic algebra. Using this fact, we obtain explicit formulas for multiple $t$-values of repeated arguments analogous to those known for multiple zeta values. Multiple $t$-values can be written as rational linear combinations of the alternating or "colored" multiple zeta…
In this article, we consider the expressions for content-parametrized Schur multiple zeta-functions in terms of multiple zeta-functions of Euler-Zagier type and their star-variants, or in terms of modified zeta-functions of root systems. First of all, we focus on the Schur multiple zeta-function of hook type. And then, applying the Giambelli formula and induction argument, we obtain the expressions for general content-parametrized Schur multiple zeta-functions.
We know at least two ways to generalize multiple zeta(-star) values, or MZ(S)Vs for short, which are $q$-analogue and $t$-interpolation. The $q$-analogue of MZ(S)Vs, or $q$MZ(S)Vs for short, was introduced by Bradley, Okuda and Takeyama, Zhao, etc. On the other hand, the polynomials interpolating MZVs and MZSVs using a parameter $t$ were introduced by Yamamoto. We call these $t$-MZVs. In this paper, we consider such two generalizations simultaneously, that is, we compose polynomials, called $t$-$q$MZVs, interpolating $q$MZVs and $q$MZSVs using a parameter $t$ which are reduced to $q$MZVs as $t…
We use multiple zeta functions to prove, under suitable assumptions, precise asymptotic formulas for the averages of multivariable multiplicative functions. As applications, we prove some conjectures on the average number of cyclic subgroups of the group ${\mathbb Z}_{m_1}\times\dots\times {\mathbb Z}_{m_n}$ and multivariable averages associated with the LCM function.
For these two decades, the Arakawa-Kaneko zeta function has been studied actively. Recently Kaneko and Tsumura constructed its variants from the viewpoint of poly-Bernoulli numbers. In this paper, we generalize their zeta functions of Arakawa-Kaneko type to those with indices in which positive and negative integers are mixed. We show that values of these functions at positive integers can be expressed in terms of the multiple Hurwitz zeta star values.
We establish a uniform upper estimate for the values of zeta(s)/zeta(s+A), 0<= A, on the critical line (conditionally on the Riemann Hypothesis). We use this to give a variant, purely complex analytic, to Baez-Duarte's proof of a strengthened Nyman-Beurling criterion for the validity of the Riemann Hypothesis.
We prove some relations for the $q$-multiple zeta values ($q$MZV). They are $q$-analogues of the cyclic sum formula, the Ohno relation and the Ohno-Zagier relation for the multiple zeta values (MZV). We discuss the problem to determine the dimension of the space spanned by $q$MZV's over $\Q$, and present an application to MZV.
The cyclic insertion conjecture of Borwein, Bradley, Broadhurst and Lisoněk states that inserting all cyclic shifts of some fixed blocks of 2's into the multiple zeta value ζ(1,3,...,1,3) gives an explicit rational multiple of a power of π. In this paper we use motivic multiple zeta values to establish a non-explicit symmetric insertion result: inserting all possible permutations of some fixed blocks of 2's into ζ(1,3,...,1,3) gives some rational multiple of a power of π.
We introduce adjoint cyclotomic multiple zeta values and cyclotomic multiple harmonic values. They are two variants of cyclotomic multiple zeta values, closely related to each other. They arise as key tools for the study of $p$-adic cyclotomic multiple zeta values. Moreover, cyclotomic multiple harmonic values provide an adelic lift to a cyclotomic generalization of finite multiple zeta values. We establish certain standard properties of these two objects. We consider two types of properties : some related to double shuffle relations, and some related to associator and Kashiwara-Vergne relatio…
The algebraic and combinatorial theory of shuffles, introduced by Chen and Ree, is further developed and applied to the study of multiple zeta values. In particular, we establish evaluations for certain sums of cyclically generated multiple zeta values. The boundary case of our result reduces to a former conjecture of Zagier.
The Kaneko--Zagier conjecture describes a correspondence between finite multiple zeta values and symmetric multiple zeta values. Its refined version has been established by Jarossay, Rosen and Ono--Seki--Yamamoto. In this paper, we explicate these conjectures through studies of multiple harmonic $q$-sums. We show that the (generalized) finite/symmetric multiple zeta value are obtained by taking an algebraic/analytic limit of multiple harmonic $q$-sums. As applications, new proofs of reversal, duality and cyclic sum formulas for the generalized finite/symmetric multiple zeta values are given.
Let n >= 1 and let p be a prime. Let t = 1 - zeta_{p^n}. Expand an integer j in [0,p^n-1], coprime to p, p-adically as j = sum_{s >= 0} a_s p^s. Denote the tensor product over Z_(p) by o . Then the #([0,j] - (p))th Z_(p)[t]-linear elementary divisor of the cyclotomic Dedekind embedding Z_(p)[t] o Z_(p)[t] --> prod_{i in (Z/p^n)^*} Z_(p)[t] has valuation -1 + sum_{s >= 0} (a_s (s+1) - a_{s+1} (s+2)) p^s at t. There is a similar result for the related cyclic Wedderburn embedding.
Symmetric multiple zeta values (SMZVs) are elements in the ring of all multiple zeta values modulo the ideal generated by $ζ(2)$ introduced by Kaneko-Zagier as counterparts of finite multiple zeta values. It is known that symmetric multiple zeta values satisfy double shuffle relations and duality relations. In this paper, we construct certain lifts of SMZVs which live in the ring generated by all multiple zeta values and $2πi$ as certain iterated integrals on $\mathbb{P}^{1}\setminus\{0,1,\infty\}$ along a certain closed path. We call this lifted values as refined symmetric multiple zeta value…
We extend the block filtration, defined by Brown based on the work of Charlton, to all motivic multiple zeta values, and study relations compatible with this filtration. We construct a Lie algebra describing relations among motivic multiple zeta values modulo terms of lower block degree, proving Charlton's cyclic insertion conjecture in this structure, and showing the existence of a `block shuffle' relation, and a previously unknown dihedral symmetry and differential relation.
Let $X_{0}=\mathbb{P}^{1} - (\{0,\infty\} \cup μ_{N})\text{ }/\text{ }\mathbb{F}_{q}$, with $N \in \mathbb{N}^{\ast}$ and $\mathbb{F}_{q}$ of characteristic $p>0$ and containing a primitive $N$-th root of unity. We establish an explicit theory of the crystalline pro-unipotent fundamental groupoid of $X_{0}$. In part I, we have computed explicitly the Frobenius, and in particular cyclotomic $p$-adic multiple zeta values. In part II, we use part I to understand the algebraic relations of cyclotomic $p$-adic multiple zeta values via explicit formulas ; this is in particular a study of the harmoni…
We define a parametric variant of generalized Euler sums and construct contour integration to give some explicit evaluations of these parametric Euler sums. In particular, we establish several explicit formulas of (Hurwitz) zeta functions, linear and quadratic parametric Euler sums. Furthermore, we also give an explicit evaluation of alternating double zeta values $\ze(\overline{2j},2m+1)$ in terms of a combination of alternating Riemann zeta values by using the parametric Euler sums.
For positive integers $p_1,p_2,\ldots,p_k,q$ with $q>1$, we define the Euler $T$-sum $T_{p_1p_2\cdots p_k,q}$ as the sum of those terms of the usual infinite series for the classical Euler sum $S_{p_1p_2\cdots p_k,q}$ with odd denominators. Like the Euler sums, the Euler $T$-sums can be evaluated according to the Contour integral and residue theorem. Using this fact, we obtain explicit formulas for Euler $T$-sums with repeated arguments analogous to those known for Euler sums. Euler $T$-sums can be written as rational linear combinations of the Hoffman $t$-values. Using known results for Hoffm…
We prove that there are arbitrarily large values of $t$ such that $|ζ(1+it)| \geq e^γ (\log_2 t + \log_3 t) + \mathcal{O}(1)$. This essentially matches the prediction for the optimal lower bound in a conjecture of Granville and Soundararajan. Our proof uses a new variant of the "long resonator" method. While earlier implementations of this method crucially relied on a "sparsification" technique to control the mean-square of the resonator function, in the present paper we exploit certain self-similarity properties of a specially designed resonator function.
Multiple $T$-values, a variant of multiple zeta values of level two, were introduced and studied by Kaneko and Tsumura. This paper will introduce iterated log-tangent integrals and discuss their relations with multiple $T$-values. We will use ideas from the author's previous work on multiple zeta values and iterated log-sine integrals to do so.
We use symmetric Poisson-Schwarz formulas for analytic functions $f$ in the half-plane ${Re}(s)>\frac12$ with $\bar{f(\bar{s})}=f(s)$ in order to derive factorisation theorems for the Riemann zeta function. We prove a variant of the Balazard-Saias-Yor theorem and obtain explicit formulas for functions which are important for the distribution of prime numbers. In contrast to Riemann's classical explicit formula, these representations use integrals along the critical line ${Re}(s)=\frac12$ and Blaschke zeta zeroes.
