In this work we apply the Drinfel'd twist of Hopf algebras to the study of deformed quantum theories. We prove that, by carefully considering the role of the central extension, it is indeed possible to construct the universal enveloping algebra of the Heisenberg algebra and deform it by means of a Drinfel'd twist, which yields a noncommutative theory. Furthermore, we show that in the second-quantization formalism the Hopf algebra structure of the Heisenberg algebra (both undeformed and deformed) can be obtained from the Hopf algebra of the Schrodinger fields and oscillators, as long as they are taken to be odd generators of the osp(1|2) superalgebra. We study the deformation of the fermionic Heisenberg algebra and present an identification with the algebra of the one-dimensional N-extended supersymmetric quantum mechanics, possible for even N. A second construction for the deformation of the one-dimensional N-extended supersymmetric quantum mechanics is presented in the superspace representation, where the supersymmetry generators are realized in terms of operators belonging to the universal enveloping superalgebra of one bosonic and several fermionic oscillators. In both constructions we recover, in a more general setting, some Cliffordization results of the literature.
We consider new Abelian twists of Poincare algebra describing non-symmetric generalization of the ones given in [1], which lead to the class of Lie-deformed quantum Minkowski spaces. We apply corresponding twist quantization in two ways: as generating quantum Poincare-Hopf algebra providing quantum Poincare symmetries, and by considering the quantization which provides Hopf algebroid describing the class of quantum relativistic phase spaces with built-in quantum Poincare covariance. If we assume that Lorentz generators are orbital i.e.do not describe spin degrees of freedom, one can embed the …
Hopf algebroid structures on the Weyl algebra (phase space) are presented. We define the coproduct for the Weyl generators from Leibniz rule. The codomain of the coproduct is modified in order to obtain an algebra structure. We use the dual base to construct the target map and antipode. The notion of twist is analyzed for $κ$-deformed phase space in Hopf algebroid setting. It is outlined how the twist in the Hopf algebroid setting reproduces the full Hopf algebra structure of $κ$-Poincaré algebra. Several examples of realizations are worked out in details.
The $θ$-deformed Hopf fibration $\mathbb{S}^3_θ\to \mathbb{S}^2$ over the commutative $2$-sphere is compared with its classical counterpart. It is shown that there exists a natural isomorphism between the corresponding associated module functors and that the affine spaces of classical and deformed connections are isomorphic. The latter isomorphism is equivariant under an appropriate notion of infinitesimal gauge transformations in these contexts. Gauge transformations and connections on associated modules are studied and are shown to be sensitive to the deformation parameter. A homotopy theore…
We compare two ways of force terms generating in the model of nonrelativistic particle moving in the presence of constant field force $\vec{F}$. First of them uses the twist-deformed acceleration-enlarged Newton-Hooke quantum space-times while the second one incorporates the doubly enlarged Newton-Hooke transformations of classical space. Particulary, we find the conditions for which the both treatments provide the same force terms.
We consider the general D=4 (10+10)-dimensional kappa-deformed quantum phase space as given by Heisenberg double \mathcal{H} of D=4 kappa-deformed Poincare-Hopf algebra H. The standard (4+4) -dimensional kappa - deformed covariant quantum phase space spanned by kappa - deformed Minkowski coordinates and commuting momenta generators ({x}_{μ},{p}_{μ}) is obtained as the subalgebra of \mathcal{H}. We study further the property that Heisenberg double defines particular quantum spaces with Hopf algebroid structure. We calculate by using purely algebraic methods the explicite Hopf algebroid structur…
We present Lie-algebraic deformations of Minkowski space with undeformed Poincaré algebra. These deformations interpolate between Snyder and $κ$-Minkowski space. We find realizations of noncommutative coordinates in terms of commutative coordinates and derivatives. By introducing modules, it is shown that although deformed and undeformed structures are not isomorphic at the level of vector spaces, they are however isomorphic at the level of Hopf algebraic action on corresponding modules. Invariants and tensors with respect to Lorentz algebra are discussed. A general mapping from $κ$-deformed S…
We consider two quantum phase spaces which can be described by two Hopf algebroids linked with the well-known $θ_{μν}$-deformed $D=4$ Poincare-Hopf algebra $\mathbb{H}$. The first algebroid describes $θ_{μν}$-deformed relativistic phase space with canonical NC space-time (constant $θ_{μν}$ parameters) and the second one incorporates dual to $\mathbb{H}$ quantum $θ_{μν}$-deformed Poincare-Hopf group algebra $\mathbb{G}$, which contains noncommutative space-time translations given by $Λ$-dependent $Θ_{μν}$ parameters ($% Λ$ $\equiv Λ_{μν}$ parametrize classical Lorentz group). The canonical $θ_{…
We argue that the algebra $W_q(n)$, generated by $n$ pairs of deformed $q$-bosons, does not allow a Hopfalgebra structure. To this end we show that it is impossible to define a comultiplication even for the usual, nondeformed case. We indicate how the comultiplication on $U_q[osp(1/2n)]$ can be used in order to construct representations of deformed (not necessarily Hopf) algebras in tensor products of Fock spaces.
By correctly identifying the role of central extension in the centrally extended Heisenberg algebra h, we show that it is indeed possible to construct a Hopf algebraic structure on the corresponding enveloping algebra U(h) and eventually deform it through Drinfeld twist. This Hopf algebraic structure and its deformed version U^F(h) are shown to be induced from a more fundamental Hopf algebra obtained from the Schroedinger field/oscillator algebra and its deformed version, provided that the fields/oscillators are regarded as odd-elements of the super-algebra osp(1|2n). We also discuss the possi…
The $(4+4)$-dimensional $κ$-deformed quantum phase space as well as its $(10+10)$-dimensional covariant extension by the Lorentz sector can be described as Heisenberg doubles: the $(10+10)$-dimensional quantum phase space is the double of $D=4$ $κ$-deformed Poincaré Hopf algebra $\mathbb{H}$ and the standard $(4+4)$-dimensional space is its subalgebra generated by $κ$-Minkowski coordinates $\hat{x}_μ$ and corresponding commuting momenta $\hat{p}_μ$. Every Heisenberg double appears as the total algebra of a Hopf algebroid over a base algebra which is in our case the coordinate sector. We exhibi…
In this article we discus the energy-momentum conservation principle for two-particle system in the case of canonically and Lie-algebraically twist-deformed Galilei Hopf algebra. Particularly, we provide consistent with the coproducts energy and momentum addition law as well as its symmetric with respect the exchange of particles counterpart. Besides, we show that the vanishing of total fourmomentum for two Lie-algebraically deformed kinematical models leads to the discret values of energies and momenta only in the case of the symmetrized addition rules.
We consider the generalized (10+10)-dimensional D=4 quantum phase spaces containing translational and Lorentz spin sectors associated with the dual pair of twist-quantized Poincare Hopf algebra $\mathbb{H}$ and quantum Poincare Hopf group $\widehat{\mathbb{G}}$. Two Hopf algebroid structures of generalized phase spaces with spin sector will be investigated: first one $% \mathcal{H}^{(10,10)}$ describing dynamics on quantum group algebra $% \widehat{\mathbb{G}}$ provided by the Heisenberg double algebra $\mathcal{HD=% }\mathbb{H}\rtimes \widehat{\mathbb{G}}$, and second, denoted by $\mathcal{% …
We unify kappa-Minkowki spacetime and Lorentz algebra in unique Lie algebra. Introducing commutative momenta, a family of kappa-deformed Heisenberg algebras and kappa-deformed Poincare algebras are defined. They are specified by the matrix depending on momenta. We construct all such matrices. Realizations and star product are defined and analyzed in general and specially, their relation to coproduct of momenta is pointed out. Hopf algebra of the Poincare algebra, related to the covariant realization, is presented in unified covariant form. Left-right dual realizations and dual algebra are intr…
In this talk I discuss a recently developed "Unfolded Quantization Framework". It allows to introduce a Hamiltonian Second Quantization based on a Hopf algebra endowed with a coproduct satisfying, for the Hamiltonian, the physical requirement of being a primitive element. The scheme can be applied to theories deformed via a Drinfeld twist. I discuss in particular two cases: the abelian twist deformation of a rotationally invariant nonrelativistic Quantum Mechanics (the twist induces a standard noncommutativity) and the Jordanian twist of the harmonic oscillator. In the latter case the twist in…
We show how the Weyl quantum walk derived from principles in Ref. [1], enjoying a nonlinear Lorentz symmetry of dynamics, allows one to introduce Hopf algebras for position and momentum of the emerging particle. We focus on two special models of Hopf algebras--the usual Poincaré and the k-Poincaré algebras.
The quantum phase space described by Heisenberg algebra possesses undeformed Hopf algebroid structure. The $κ$-deformed phase space with noncommutative coordinates is realized in terms of undeformed quantum phase space. There are infinitely many such realizations related by similarity transformations. For a given realization we construct corresponding coproducts of commutative coordinates and momenta (bialgebroid structure). The $κ$-deformed phase space has twisted Hopf algebroid structure. General method for the construction of twist operator (satisfying cocycle and normalization condition) c…
We report the results obtained in the study of Alain Connes noncommutative spectral geometry construction focusing on its essential ingredient of the algebra doubling. We show that such a two-sheeted structure is related with the gauge structure of the theory, its dissipative character and carries in itself the seeds of quantization. From the algebraic point of view, the algebra doubling process has the same structure of the deformed Hops algebra structure which characterizes quantum field theory.
We twist the Hopf algebra of igl(n,R) to obtain the kappa-deformed spacetime coordinates. Coproducts of the twisted Hopf algebras are explicitly given. The kappa-deformed spacetime obtained this way satisfies the same commutation relation as that of the conventional kappa-Minkowski spacetime, but its Hopf algebra structure is different from the well known kappa-deformed Poincare algebra in that it has larger symmetry algebra than the kappa-Minkowski case. There are some physical models which consider this symmetry. Incidentally, we obtain the canonical (theta-deformed) non-commutative spacetim…
Nonlinear deformations of the enveloping algebra of su(2), involving two arbitrary functions of J_0 and generalizing the Witten algebra, were introduced some time ago by Delbecq and Quesne. In the present paper, the problem of endowing some of them with a Hopf algebraic structure is addressed by studying in detail a specific example, referred to as ${\cal A}^+_q(1)$. This algebra is shown to possess two series of (N+1)-dimensional unitary irreducible representations, where N=0, 1, 2, .... To allow the coupling of any two such representations, a generalization of the standard Hopf axioms is pro…
We unify k-Poincare algebra and k-Minkowski spacetime by embeding them into quantum phase space. The quantum phase space has Hopf algebroid structure to which we apply the twist in order to get k- deformed Hopf algebroid structure and k-deformed phase space. We explicitly construct k-Poincare-Hopf algebra and k-Minkowski spacetime from twist. It is outlined how this construction can be extended to k-deformed super algebra including exterior derivative and forms. Our results are relevant for constructing physical theories on noncommutative spacetime by twisting Hopf algebroid phase space struct…
The three new deformed Poincare Hopf algebras are constructed with use of twist procedure. The corresponding relativistic space-times providing the sum of canonical and Lie-algebraic type of noncommutativity are proposed. Finally, the nonrelativistic contraction limits to the corresponding Galilei Hopf algebras are performed.
We provide fifteen twist-deformed doubly enlarged Newton-Hooke quantum space-times. In $τ$ approaching infinity limit the twisted doubly enlarged Galilei spaces are obtained as well.
The structure of the Connes-Kreimer renormalization Hopf algebra is studied for gauge theories, with particular emphasis on the BRST-formalism. We work in the explicit example of quantum chromodynamics, the physical theory of quarks and gluons. A coaction of the renormalization Hopf algebra is defined on the coupling constants and the fields. In this context, BRST-invariance of the action implies the existence of certain Hopf ideals in the renormalization Hopf algebra, encoding the Slavnov-Taylor identities for the coupling constants.
The dissertation presents possibilities of applying noncommutative spacetimes description, particularly kappa-deformed Minkowski spacetime and Drinfeld's deformation theory, as a mathematical formalism for Doubly Special Relativity theories (DSR), which are thought as phenomenological limit of quantum gravity theory. Deformed relativistic symmetries are described within Hopf algebra language. In the case of (quantum) kappa-Minkowski spacetime the symmetry group is described by the (quantum) kappa-Poincare Hopf algebra. Deformed relativistic symmetries were used to construct the DSR algebra, wh…
We study the structure of renormalization Hopf algebras of gauge theories. We identify certain Hopf subalgebras in them, whose character groups are semidirect products of invertible formal power series with formal diffeomorphisms. This can be understood physically as wave function renormalization and renormalization of the coupling constants, respectively. After taking into account the Slavnov-Taylor identities for the couplings as generators of a Hopf ideal, we find Hopf subalgebras in the corresponding quotient as well. In the second part of the paper, we explain the origin of these Hopf ide…
Deformed gauge transformations on deformed coordinate spaces are considered for any Lie algebra. The representation theory of this gauge group forces us to work in a deformed Lie algebra as well. This deformation rests on a twisted Hopf algebra, thus we can represent a twisted Hopf algebra on deformed spaces. That leads to the construction of Lagrangian invariant under a twisted Lie algebra.
The connection between braided Hopf algebra structure and the quantum group covariance of deformed oscillators is constructed explicitly. In this context we provide deformations of the Hopf algebra of functions on SU(1,1). Quantum subgroups and their representations are also discussed.
It is well known that the mathematical structure underlying renormalization in perturbative quantum field theory is based on a Hopf algebra of Feynman diagrams. A precondition for this is locality of the field theory. Consequently, one might suspect that non-local field theories such as matrix or tensor field theories cannot benefit from a similar algebraic understanding. Here I show that, on the contrary, the renormalization and perturbative diagramatics of a broad class of such field theories is based in the same way on a Hopf algebra. These theories are characterized by interaction vertices…
We propose a generalized description for the kappa-Poincare-Hopf algebra as a symmetry quantum group of underlying kappa-Minkowski spacetime. We investigate all the possible implementations of (deformed) Lorentz algebras which are compatible with the given choice of kappa-Minkowski algebra realization. For the given realization of kappa-Minkowski spacetime there is a unique kappa-Poincare-Hopf algebra with undeformed Lorentz algebra. We have constructed a three-parameter family of deformed Lorentz generators with kappa-Poincare algebras which are related to kappa-Poincare-Hopf algebra with und…
Non-commutative Quantum Mechanics in 3D is investigated in the framework of the abelian Drinfeld twist which deforms a given Hopf algebra while preserving its Hopf algebra structure. Composite operators (of coordinates and momenta) entering the Hamiltonian have to be reinterpreted as primitive elements of a dynamical Lie algebra which could be either finite (for the harmonic oscillator) or infinite (in the general case). The deformed brackets of the deformed angular momenta close the so(3) algebra. On the other hand, undeformed rotationally invariant operators can become, under deformation, an…
The aim of this review is to present an overview over available models and approaches to non-commutative gauge theory. Our main focus thereby is on gauge models formulated on flat Groenewold-Moyal spaces and renormalizability, but we will also review other deformations and try to point out common features. This review will by no means be complete and cover all approaches, it rather reflects a highly biased selection.
We investigate the Hopf algebra structure in string worldsheet theory and give a unified formulation of the quantization of string and the space-time symmetry. We reformulate the path integral quantization of string as a Drinfeld twist at the worldsheet level. The coboundary relation shows that the Drinfeld twist defines a module algebra which is equivalent to operators with normal ordering. Upon applying the twist, the space-time diffeomorphism is deformed into a twisted Hopf algebra, while the Poincaré symmetry is unchanged. This suggests a characterization of the symmetry: unbroken symmetri…
For a noncommutative configuration space whose coordinate algebra is the universal enveloping algebra of a finite dimensional Lie algebra, it is known how to introduce an extension playing the role of the corresponding noncommutative phase space, namely by adding the commuting deformed derivatives in a consistent and nontrivial way, therefore obtaining certain deformed Heisenberg algebra. This algebra has been studied in physical contexts, mainly in the case of the kappa-Minkowski space-time. Here we equip the entire phase space algebra with a coproduct, so that it becomes an instance of a com…
In previous work, starting from the Moyal plane, we formulated interacting theories of matter and gauge fields with only the former fields twisted. In this approach, gauge theories, including the standard model, can be formulated without new gauge degrees of freedom. We show their underlying symmetry algebra to be Poincaré quasi-Hopf . The associated spacetime algebra is hence non-associative.
We analyze bicovariant differential calculus on $κ$-Minkowski spacetime. It is shown that corresponding Lorentz generators and noncommutative coordinates compatible with bicovariant calculus cannot be realized in terms of commutative coordinates and momenta. Furthermore, $κ$-Minkowski space and NC forms are constructed by twist related to a bicrossproduct basis. It is pointed out that the consistency condition is not satisfied. We present the construction of $κ$-deformed coordinates and forms (super-Heisenberg algebra) using extended twist. It is compatible with bicovariant differential calcul…
A differential calculus, differential geometry and the E-R Gravity theory are studied on noncommutative spaces. Noncommutativity is formulated in the star product formalism. The basis for the gravity theory is the infinitesimal algebra of diffeomorphisms. Considering the corresponding Hopf algebra we find that the deformed gravity is based on a deformation of the Hopf algebra.
We construct five new quantum Newton-Hooke Hopf algebras with the use of Abelian twist procedure. Further we demonstrate that the corresponding deformed space-times with quantum space and classical time are periodic or expanding in time.
We present the quantum $κ$-deformation of BMS symmetry, by generalizing the lightlike $κ$-Poincaré Hopf algebra. On the technical level, our analysis relies on the fact that the lightlike $κ$-deformation of Poincaré algebra is given by a twist and the lightlike deformation of any algebra containing Poincaré as a subalgebra can be done with the help of the same twisting element. We briefly comment on the physical relevance of the obtained $κ$-BMS Hopf algebra as a possible asymptotic symmetry of quantum gravity.
In this note we present an approach using both constructive and Hopf algebraic methods to contribute to the not yet fully satisfactory definition of an integral on kappa-deformed spacetime. The integral presented here is based on the inner product of differential forms and it is shown that this integral is explicitly invariant under the deformed symmetry structure.
We present a short review of the action and coaction of Hopf algebras on Clifford algebras as an introduction to physically meaningful examples. Some q-deformed Clifford algebras are studied from this context and conclusions are derived.
In complete analogy with Seiberg-Witten map defined in noncommutative geometry we introduce a new map between a q-deformed gauge theory and an ordinary gauge theory. The construction of this map is elaborated in order to fit the Hopf algebra structure.
We formulate a conjecture, stating that the algebra of $n$ pairs of deformed Bose creation and annihilation operators is a factor-algebra of $U_q[osp(1/2n)]$, considered as a Hopf algebra, and prove it for $n=2$ case. To this end we show that for any value of $q$ $U_q[osp(1/4)]$ can be viewed as a superalgebra, freely generated by two pairs $B_1^\pm$, $B_2^\pm$ of deformed para-Bose operators. We write down all Hopf algebra relations, an analogue of the Cartan-Weyl basis, the "commutation" relations between the generators and a basis in $U_q[osp(1/2n)]$ entirely in terms of $B_1^\pm$, $B_2^\pm…
In 1999 A. Connes and D. Kreimer have discovered a Hopf algebra structure on the Feynman graphs of scalar field theory. They have found that the renormalization can be interpreted as a solving of some Riemann - Hilbert problem. In this work the generalization of their scheme to the case of nonabelian gauge theories is proposed. The action of the gauge group on the Hopf algebra is defined and the proof that this action is in consistent with the Hopf algebra structure is given. The scetch of new proof of S-matrix, based on the Hopf algebra is given.
The lattice superalgebra of the link approach is shown to satisfy a Hopf algebraic supersymmetry where the difference operator is introduced as a momentum operator. The breakdown of the Leibniz rule for the lattice difference operator is accommodated as a coproduct operation of (quasi)triangular Hopf algebra and the associated field theory is consistently defined as a braided quantum field theory. Algebraic formulation of path integral is perturbatively defined and Ward-Takahashi identity can be derived on the lattice. The claimed inconsistency of the link approach leading to the ordering ambi…
A q-analogue of four dimensional conformally invariant field theory based on the quantum algebra U_{q}(so(4,2)) is proposed. The two- and three-point correlation functions are calculated. The construction is elaborated in order to fit the Hopf algebra structure.
We introduce a new map between a q-deformed gauge theory on a general GL_{q}(N)-covariant quantum hyperplane and an ordinary gauge theory in a full analogy with Seiberg-Witten map. Perturbative analysis of the q-deformed QED at the classical level is presented and gauge fixing a la BRST is discussed
By employing CFT techniques, we show how to compute in the context of λ-deformations of current algebras and coset CFTs the exact in the deformation parameters C-function for a wide class of integrable theories that interpolate between a UV and an IR point. We explicitly consider RG flows for integrable deformations of left-right asymmetric current algebras and coset CFTs. In all cases, the derived exact C-functions obey all the properties asserted by Zamolodchikov's c-theorem in two-dimensions.
The fluxtrap background of string theory provides a transparent and algorithmic way of constructing supersymmetric gauge theories with both mass and Omega-type deformations in various dimensions. In this article, we review a number of deformed supersymmetric gauge theories in two and four dimensions which can be obtained via the fluxtrap background from string or M-theory. Such theories, the most well-known being Omega-deformed super Yang-Mills theory in four dimensions, have met with a lot of interest in the recent literature. The string theory treatment offers many new avenues of analysis an…
We obtain three and four dimensional conformal field theories with less than maximal supersymmetry by using their supergravity duals. These supergravity theories are type II on $AdS_5 \times CP^2$, IIA on $AdS_4 \times CP^3$, IIB on $AdS_5 \times S^5/Z_k$ and D=11 supergravity on $AdS_4 \times S^7/Z_k$. They are obtained from the spherically compactified ten and eleven dimensional theories by either Hopf reduction or by winding the U(1) fiber over the base.
I discuss motivations for introducing Hopf algebra symmetries in noncommutative field theories and briefly describe twisting of main symmetry transformations. New results include an extended list of twisted gauge invariants (which may help to overcome the problem of inconsistency of equations of motion) and a gauge-covariant twist operator (leading to a gauge-covariant star product).
We explicitly derive Lax pairs for string theories on Yang-Baxter deformed backgrounds, 1) gravity duals for noncommutative gauge theories, 2) $γ$-deformations of S$^5$, 3) Schrödinger spacetimes and 4) abelian twists of the global AdS$_5$\,. Then we can find out a concise derivation of Lax pairs based on simple replacement rules. Furthermore, each of the above deformations can be reinterpreted as a twisted periodic boundary conditions with the undeformed background by using the rules. As another derivation, the Lax pair for gravity duals for noncommutative gauge theories is reproduced from th…
Field theories on "quantum" or deformed space-time are considered here. The Moyal-Weyl deformation breaks the Lorentz invariance of the theory, but one can still require invariance under the supertranslation algebra. We investigate some aspects of the Wess-Zumino model, super Yang-Mills theories and analyze the correspondence of the later with the supersymmetric Born-Infeld action.
We investigate the quasi-Hopf twist of the quantum toroidal algebra of $\mathfrak{gl}_1$ as an elliptic deformation. Under the quasi-Hopf twist the underlying algebra remains the same, but the coproduct is deformed, where the twist parameter $p$ is identified as the elliptic modulus. Computing the quasi-Hopf twist of the $R$ matrix, we uncover the relation to the elliptic lift of the Nekrasov factor for instanton counting of the quiver gauge theories on $\mathbb{R}^4 \times T^2$. The same $R$ matrix also appears in the commutation relation of the intertwiners, which implies an elliptic quantum…
We show that the maximal extension sl(2) times psl(2|2) times C3 of the sl(2|2) superalgebra can be obtained as a contraction limit of the semi-simple superalgebra d(2,1;epsilon) times sl(2). We reproduce earlier results on the corresponding q-deformed Hopf algebra and its universal R-matrix by means of contraction. We make the curious observation that the above algebra is related to kappa-Poincaré symmetry. When dropping the graded part psl(2|2) we find a novel one-parameter deformation of the 3D kappa-Poincaré algebra. Our construction also provides a concise exact expression for its univers…
In this Letter, 2D Dirac oscillator in the quantum deformed framework generated by the $κ$-Poincaré-Hopf algebra is considered. The problem is formulated using the $κ$-deformed Dirac equation. The resulting theory reveals that the energies and wave functions of the oscillator are modified by the deformation parameter.
