The connection between braided Hopf algebra structure and the quantum group covariance of deformed oscillators is constructed explicitly. In this context we provide deformations of the Hopf algebra of functions on SU(1,1). Quantum subgroups and their representations are also discussed.
Given M copies of a q-deformed Weyl or Clifford algebra in the defining representation of a quantum group $G_q$, we determine a prescription to embed them into a unique, inclusive $G_q$-covariant algebra. The different copies are "coupled" to each other and are naturally ordered into a "chain". In the case $G_q=SL_q(N)$ a modified prescription yields an inclusive algebra which is even explicitly $SL_q(M) X SL_q(N)$-covariant, where $SL_q(M)$ is a symmetry relating the different copies. By the introduction of these inclusive algebrae we significantly enlarge the class of $G_q$-covariant deforme…
We show that the braided tensor product algebra $A_1\underline{\otimes}A_2$ of two module algebras $A_1, A_2$ of a quasitriangular Hopf algebra $H$ is equal to the ordinary tensor product algebra of $A_1$ with a subalgebra of $A_1\underline{\otimes}A_2$ isomorphic to $A_2$, provided there exists a realization of $H$ within $A_1$. In other words, under this assumption we construct a transformation of generators which `decouples' $A_1, A_2$ (i.e. makes them commuting). We apply the theorem to the braided tensor product algebras of two or more quantum group covariant quantum spaces, deformed Heis…
Framework for constructing Fock spaces associated either with certain solutions of the quantum Yang-Baxter equation or with infinite dimensional Hecke algebra is presented. For the former case, the quantum deformed oscillator algebra associated with the solution of the quantum Yang-Baxter equation is found.
We briefly report on our result that the braided tensor product algebra of two module algebras $A_1,A_2$ of a quasitriangular Hopf algebra $H$ is equal to the ordinary tensor product algebra of $H_1$ with a subalgebra isomorphic to $A_2$ and commuting with $A_1$, provided there exists a realization of $H$ within $A_1$. As applications of the theorem we consider the braided tensor product algebras of two or more quantum group covariant quantum spaces or deformed Heisenberg algebras.
We find a new braided Hopf structure for the algebra satisfied by the entries of the braided matrix $BSL_q(2)$. A new nonbraided algebra whose coalgebra structure is the same as the braided one is found to be a two parameter deformed algebra. It is found that this algebra is not a comodule algebra under adjoint coaction. However, it is shown that for a certain value of one of the deformation parameters the braided algebra becomes a comodule algebra under the coaction of this nonbraided algebra. The transmutation of the nonbraided algebra to the braided one is constructed explicitly.
A differential calculus of the first order over multi-braided quantum groups is developed. In analogy with the standard theory, left/right-covariant and bicovariant differential structures are introduced and investigated. Furthermore, antipodally covariant calculi are studied. The concept of the *-structure on a multi-braided quantum group is formulated, and in particular the structure of left-covariant *-covariant calculi is analyzed. A special attention is given to differential calculi covariant with respect to the action of the associated braid system. In particular it is shown that the lef…
We propose a ribbon braided category approach to zeta-functions in q-deformed geometry. As a proof of concept we compute $ζ_t(C^n)$ where $C^n$ is viewed as the standard representation in the category of modules of $U_q(sl_n)$. We show that the same $ζ_t(C^n)$ is obtained for the $n$-dimensional representation in the category of $U_q(sl_2)$ modules. We show that this implies and is equivalent to the generating function for the decomposition into irreducibles of the symmetric tensor products $S^j(V)$ for $V$ an irreducible representation of $sl_2$. We discuss $ζ_t(C_q(S^2))$ for the standard q-…
We show that the action of the special conformal transformations of the usual (undeformed) conformal group is the $q\to 1$ scaling limit of the braided adjoint action or $R$-commutator of $q$-Minkowski space on itself. We also describe the $q$-deformed conformal algebra in $R$-matrix form and its quasi-$*$ structure.
We consider two different types of deformations for the linear group $ GL(n)$ which correspond to using of a general diagonal R-matrix. Relations between braided and quantum deformed algebras and their coactions on a quantum plane are discussed. We show that tensor-grading-preserving differential calculi can be constructed on braided groups , quantum groups and quantum planes for the case of the diagonal R-matrix.
We discuss a class of generalized divided difference operators which give rise to a representation of Nichols-Woronowicz algebras associated to Weyl groups. For the root system of type $A,$ we also study the condition for the deformations of the Fomin-Kirillov quadratic algebra, which is a quadratic lift of the Nichols-Woronowicz algebra, to admit a representation given by generalized divided difference operators. The relations satisfied by the mutually commuting elements called Dunkl elements in the deformed Fomin-Kirillov algebra are determined. The Dunkl elements correspond to the truncated…
A new approach is suggested to quantum differential calculus on certain quantum varieties. It consists in replacing quantum de Rham complexes with differentials satisfying Leibniz rule by those which are in a sense close to Koszul complexes from \cite{G1}. We also introduce the tangent space on a quantum hyperboloid equipped with an action on the quantum function space and define the notions of quantum (pseudo)metric and quantum connection (partially defined) on it. All objects are considered from the viewpoint of flatness of quantum deformations. A problem of constructing a flatly deformed qu…
We consider the reflection equation algebra for a finite dimensional R-matrix for the $(h,w)$-deformed Heisenberg algebra ${\cal U}_{h,w}(h(4))$. A representation of the reflection matrix $K$ is constructed using the matrix generators $L^{(\pm)}$ of the ${\cal U}_{h,w}(h(4))$ algebra. A series of representations of the K-matrix then may be generated by using the coproduct rules of the ${\cal U}_{h,w}(h(4))$ algebra. The complementary condition necessary for combining two distinct solutions of the reflection equation algebra yields the braiding relations between these two sets of generators. Th…
Let G be a classical compact Lie group and G_μthe associated compact matrix quantum group deformed by a positive parameter μ(or a nonzero and real μin the type A case). It is well known that the category Rep(G_μ) of unitary f.d. representations of G_μis a braided tensor C*-category. We show that any braided tensor *-functor from Rep(G_μ) to another braided tensor C*-category with irreducible tensor unit is full if |μ|\neq 1. In particular, the functor of restriction to the representation category of a proper compact quantum subgroup, cannot be made into a braided functor. Our result also shows…
A regular way to define an additive coproduct (or ``coaddition'') on the q-deformed differential complexes is proposed for quantum groups and quantum spaces related to the Hecke-type R-matrices. Several examples of braided coadditive differential bialgebras (Hopf algebras) are presented.
We discuss the obstruction to the construction of a multiparticle field theory on a $κ$-Minkowski noncommutative spacetime: the existence of multilocal functions which respect the deformed symmetries of the problem. This construction is only possible for a light-like version of the commutation relations, if one requires invariance of the tensor product algebra under the coaction of the $κ$-Poincaré group. This necessitates a braided tensor product. We study the representations of this product, and prove that $κ$-Poincaré-invariant N-point functions belong to an Abelian subalgebra, and are ther…
We introduce a large class of bicovariant differential calculi on any quantum group $A$, associated to $Ad$-invariant elements. For example, the deformed trace element on $SL_q(2)$ recovers Woronowicz' $4D_\pm$ calculus. More generally, we obtain a sequence of differential calculi on each quantum group $A(R)$, based on the theory of the corresponding braided groups $B(R)$. Here $R$ is any regular solution of the QYBE.
Covariance ties the noncommutative deformation of a space into a quantum space closely to the deformation of the symmetry into a quantum symmetry. Quantum deformations of enveloping algebras are governed by Drinfeld twists, inner automorphisms which relate the deformed to the undeformed coproduct. While Drinfeld twists naturally define a covariant star product on the space algebra, this product is in general not associative and does not yield a quantum space. It is reported that, nevertheless, there are certain Drinfeld twists which realize the quantum plane, quantum Euclidean 4-space, and qua…
A lattice regularized Lax operator for the nonultralocal modified Korteweg de Vries (mKdV) equation is proposed at the quantum level with the basic operators satisfying a $q$-deformed braided algebra. Finding further the associated quantum $R$ and $Z$-matrices the exact integrability of the model is proved through the braided quantum Yang--Baxter equation, a suitably generalized equation for the nonultralocal models. Using the algebraic Bethe ansatz the eigenvalue problem of the quantum mKdV model is exactly solved and its connection with the spin-$\ha$ XXZ chain is established, facilitating t…
We introduce the concept of pseudotwistor (with particular cases called twistor and braided twistor) for an algebra $(A, μ, u)$ in a monoidal category, as a morphism $T:A\otimes A\to A\otimes A$ satisfying a list of axioms ensuring that $(A, μ\circ T, u)$ is also an algebra in the category. This concept provides a unifying framework for various deformed (or twisted) algebras from the literature, such as twisted tensor products of algebras, twisted bialgebras and algebras endowed with Fedosov products. Pseudotwistors appear also in other topics from the literature, e.g. Durdevich's braided quan…
We propose a generalized oscillator algebra at the roots of unity with generalized exclusion and we investigate the braided Hopf structure. We find that there are two solutions: these are the generalized exclusions of the bosonic and fermionic types. We also discuss the covariance properties of these oscillators
We use the theory of the quantum group $U_q(gl(2,\RR))$ in order to develop a quantum theory of invariants and show a decomposition of invariants into a Gordan-Capelli series. Higher binary forms are introduced on the basis of braided algebras. We define quantised invariants and give basic examples. We show that the symbolic method of Clebsch and Gordan works also in the quantised case. We discuss the deformed discriminant of the quadratic and the cubic form, the deformed invariants $I_1$, $I_2$ of the quartic form and further invariants without a classical analog.
Using general but simple covariance arguments, we classify the `quantum' Minkowski spaces for dimensionless deformation parameters. This requires a previous analysis of the associated Lorentz groups, which reproduces a previous classification by Woronowicz and Zakrzewski. As a consequence of the unified analysis presented, we give the commutation properties, the deformed (and central) length element and the metric tensor for the different spacetime algebras.
We study the quantum matrix algebra $R_{21}x_1x_2=x_2x_1 R$ and for the standard $2\times 2$ case propose it for the co-ordinates of $q$-deformed Euclidean space. The algebra in this simplest case is isomorphic to the usual quantum matrices $M_q(2)$ but in a form which is naturally covariant under the Euclidean rotations $SU_q(2)\otimes SU_q(2)$. We also introduce a quantum Wick rotation that twists this system precisely into the approach to $q$-Minkowski space based on braided-matrices and their associated spinorial $q$-Lorentz group.
This paper is the sequel to [HP1] to study the deformed structures and representations of two-parameter quantum groups $U_{r,s}(\mathfrak{g})$ associated to the finite dimensional simple Lie algebras $\mg$. An equivalence of the braided tensor categories $Ø^{r,s}$ and $Ø^{q}$ is explicitly established.
We discuss a class of quantum vertex algebras where not only the commutativity of the vertex algebra is broken by a braiding map $S^{(τ)}$, but also the translation covariance is broken by a translation map $S^{(γ)}$. The new class of quantum vertex operators satisfy a Braided Jacobi Identity containing both the braiding and the translation maps.
Given a simple Lie algebra $\gggg$, we consider the orbits in $\gggg^*$ which are of R-matrix type, i.e., which possess a Poisson pencil generated by the Kirillov-Kostant-Souriau bracket and the so-called R-matrix bracket. We call an algebra quantizing the latter bracket a quantum orbit of R-matrix type. We describe some orbits of this type explicitly and we construct a quantization of the whole Poisson pencil on these orbits in a similar way. The notions of q-deformed Lie brackets, braided coadjoint vector fields and tangent vector fields are discussed as well.
We express the defining relations of the $q$-deformed Minkowski space algebra as well as that of the corresponding derivatives and differentials in the form of reflection equations. This formulation encompasses the covariance properties with respect the quantum Lorentz group action in a straightforward way.
A deformed $q$-calculus is developed on the basis of an algebraic structure involving graded brackets. A number operator and left and right shift operators are constructed for this algebra, and the whole structure is related to the algebra of a $q$-deformed boson. The limit of this algebra when $q$ is a $n$-th root of unity is also studied in detail. By means of a chain rule expansion, the left and right derivatives are identified with the charge $Q$ and covariant derivative $D$ encountered in ordinary/fractional supersymmetry and this leads to new results for these operators. A generalized Be…
We consider three quantum algebras: the q-oscillator algebra, the Podles' sphere and the q-deformed enveloping algebra of $su(2).$ To each of these *-algebras we associate certain partial dynamical system and perform the "Mackey analysis" of *-representations developed in [SS]. As a result we get the description of "standard" irreducible *-representations. Further, for each of these examples we show the existence of a "$C^*$-envelope" which is canonically isomorphic to the covariance $C^*$-algebra of the partial dynamical system. Finally, for the q-oscillator algebra and the q-deformed $\cU(su…
We consider noncommutative geometries obtained from a triangular Drinfeld twist. This allows to construct and study a wide class of noncommutative manifolds and their deformed Lie algebras of infinitesimal diffeomorphisms. This way symmetry principles can be implemented. We review two main examples [15]-[18]: a) general covariance in noncommutative spacetime. This leads to a noncommutative gravity theory. b) Symplectomorphims of the algebra of observables associated to a noncommutative configuration space. This leads to a geometric formulation of quantization on noncommutative spacetime, i.e.,…
We formulate the generation of finite dimensional pointed Hopf algebras by group-like elements and skew-primitives in geometric terms. This is done through a more general study of connected and coconnected Hopf algebras inside a braided fusion category $\mathcal{C}$. We describe such Hopf algebras as orbits for the action of a reductive group on an affine variety. We then show that the closed orbits are precisely the orbits of Nichols algebras, and that all other algebras are therefore deformations of Nichols algebras. For the case where the category $\mathcal{C}$ is the category $^G_G\mathcal…
Let ${\mathfrak g}$ be a complex semisimple Lie algebra, and $Y_h({\mathfrak g})$, $U_q(L{\mathfrak g})$ the corresponding Yangian and quantum loop algebra, with deformation parameters related by $q=\exp(πi h)$. When $h$ is not a rational number, we constructed in arXiv:1310.7318 a faithful functor $Γ$ from the category of finite-dimensional representations of $Y_h ({\mathfrak g})$ to those of $U_q(L{\mathfrak g})$. The functor $Γ$ is governed by the additive difference equations defined by the commuting fields of the Yangian, and restricts to an equivalence on a subcategory of $Y_h({\mathfrak…
We extend our previous study of Hopf-algebraic $κ$-deformations of all inhomogeneous orthogonal Lie algebras ${\rm iso}(g)$ as written in a tensorial and unified form. Such deformations are determined by a vector $τ$ which for Lorentzian signature can be taken time-, light- or space-like. We focus on some mathematical aspects related to this subject. Firstly, we describe real forms with connection to the metric's signatures and their compatibility with the reality condition for the corresponding $κ$-Minkowski (Hopf) module algebras. Secondly, $h$-adic vs $q$-analog (polynomial) versions of def…
