A new approach is suggested to quantum differential calculus on certain quantum varieties.
It consists in replacing quantum de Rham complexes with differentials satisfying Leibniz rule by those which are in a sense close to Koszul complexes from \cite{G1}. We also introduce the tangent space on a quantum hyperboloid equipped with an action on the quantum function space and define the notions of quantum (pseudo)metric and quantum connection (partially defined) on it. All objects are considered from the viewpoint of flatness of quantum deformations. A problem of constructing a flatly deformed quantum gauge theory is discussed as well.
We revisit the notion of interacting Frobenius Hopf algebras for ZX-calculus in quantum computing, with focus on allowing the algebras to be noncommutative and coalgebras to be noncocommutative. We introduce the notion of *-structures in ZX-calculus at this algebraic level and construct examples based on the quantum group u_q(sl_2) at a root of unity. We provide an abstract formulation of the Hadamard gate at this level and clarify its relationship to Hopf algebra self-duality. We then solve the problem of extending the notion of interacting Hopf algebras and ZX-calculus to take place in a bra…
Braided non-commutative differential geometry is studied. In particular we investigate the theory of (bicovariant) differential calculi in braided abelian categories. Previous results on crossed modules and Hopf bimodules in braided categories are used to construct higher order bicovariant differential calculi over braided Hopf algebras out of first order ones. These graded objects are shown to be braided differential Hopf algebras with universal bialgebra properties. The article especially extends Woronowicz's results on (bicovariant) differential calculi to the braided non-commutative case.
On any Reflection Equation algebra corresponding to a skew-invertible Hecke symmetry (i.e. a special type solution of the Quantum Yang-Baxter Equation) we define analogs of the partial derivatives. Together with elements of the initial Reflection Equation algebra they generate a "braided analog" of the Weyl algebra. When $q\to 1$, the braided Weyl algebra corresponding to the Quantum Group $U_q(sl(2))$ goes to the Weyl algebra defined on the algebra $\Sym((u(2))$ or that $U(u(2))$ depending on the way of passing to the limit. Thus, we define partial derivatives on the algebra $U(u(2))$, find t…
We construct a noncommutative Cartan calculus on any braided commutative algebra and study its applications in noncommutative geometry. The braided Lie derivative, insertion and de Rham differential are introduced and related via graded braided commutators, also incorporating the braided Schouten-Nijenhuis bracket. The resulting braided Cartan calculus generalizes the Cartan calculus on smooth manifolds and the twisted Cartan calculus. While it is a necessity of derivation based Cartan calculi on noncommutative algebras to employ central bimodules our approach allows to consider bimodules over…
We construct a model of the affine nil-Hecke algebra as a subalgebra of the Nichols-Woronowicz algebra associated to a Yetter-Drinfeld module over the affine Weyl group. We also discuss the Peterson isomorphism between the homology of the affine Grassmannian and the small quantum cohomology ring of the flag variety in terms of the braided differential calculus.
In this thesis we give obstructions for Drinfel'd twist deformation quantization on several classes of symplectic manifolds. Motivated from this quantization procedure, we further construct a noncommutative Cartan calculus on any braided commutative algebra, as well as an equivariant Levi-Civita covariant derivative for any non-degenerate equivariant metric. This generalizes and unifies the Cartan calculus on a smooth manifold and the Cartan calculus on twist star product algebras. We prove that the Drinfel'd functor leads to equivalence classes in braided commutative geometry and commutes wit…
We realise the cohomology ring of a flag manifold, more generally the coinvariant algebra of an arbitrary finite Coxeter group W, as a commutative subalgebra of a certain Nichols algebra in the Yetter-Drinfeld category over W. This gives a braided Hopf algebra version of the corresponding Schubert calculus. Our proof is based on methods of braided differential calculus rather than on working directly with the relations in the Nichols algebra, which are not known explicitly. We also discuss the relationship between Fomin-Kirillov quadratic algebras, Kirillov-Maeno bracket algebras and our const…
We study super-braided Hopf algebras $Λ$ primitively generated by finite-dimensional right crossed (or Drinfeld-Radford-Yetter) modules $Λ^1$ over a Hopf algebra $A$ which are quotients of the augmentation ideal $A^+$ under right multiplication and the adjoint coaction. Here super-bosonisation $Ω=A\ltimesΛ$ provides a bicovariant differential graded algebra on $A$. We introduce $Λ_{max}$ providing the maximal prolongation, while the canonical braided-exterior algebra $Λ_{min}=B_-(Λ^1)$ provides the Woronowicz exterior calculus. In this context we introduce a Hodge star operator $\sharp$ by sup…
We introduce the tangent space on a quantum hyperboloid. We define an action of this tangent space on the corresponding "quantum function space" ${\cal A}$, what converts the elements of the tangent space into "braided vector fields". The tangent space is shown to be a projective ${\cal A}$-module and we define a quantum (pseudo)metric and a quantum connection (partially defined) on it.
We use monoidal category methods to study the noncommutative geometry of nonassociative algebras obtained by a Drinfeld-type cochain twist. These are the so-called quasialgebras and include the octonions as braided-commutative but nonassociative coordinate rings, as well as quasialgebra versions $\CC_{q}(G)$ of the standard q-deformation quantum groups. We introduce the notion of ribbon algebras in the category, which are algebras equipped with a suitable generalised automorphism $σ$, and obtain the required generalisation of cyclic cohomology. We show that this \emph{braided cyclic cocohomolo…
A many variable $q$-calculus is introduced using the formalism of braided covector algebras. Its properties when certain of its deformation parameters are roots of unity are discussed in detail, and related to fractional supersymmetry. The special cases of two dimensional supersymmetry and fractional supersymmetry are developed in detail.
Let $k(S^2_q)$ be the "coordinate ring" of a quantum sphere. We introduce the cotangent module on the quantum sphere as a one-sided $k(S^2_q)$-module and show that there is no Yang-Baxter type operator converting it into a $k(S^2_q)$-bimodule which would be a flatly deformed object w.r.t. its classical counterpart. This implies non-flatness of any covariant differential calculus on the quantum sphere making use of the Leibniz rule. Also, we introduce the cotangent and tangent modules on generic quantum orbits and discuss some related problems of "braided geometry".
We formulate quantum group Riemannian geometry as a gauge theory of quantum differential forms. We first develop (and slightly generalise) classical Riemannian geometry in a self-dual manner as a principal bundle frame resolution and a dual pair of canonical forms. The role of Levi-Civita connection is naturally generalised to connections with vanishing torsion and cotorsion, which we introduce. We then provide the corresponding quantum group and braided group formulations with the universal quantum differential calculus. We also give general constructions for examples, including quantum spher…
A differential calculus of the first order over multi-braided quantum groups is developed. In analogy with the standard theory, left/right-covariant and bicovariant differential structures are introduced and investigated. Furthermore, antipodally covariant calculi are studied. The concept of the *-structure on a multi-braided quantum group is formulated, and in particular the structure of left-covariant *-covariant calculi is analyzed. A special attention is given to differential calculi covariant with respect to the action of the associated braid system. In particular it is shown that the lef…
For differential calculi over certain right coideal subalgebras of quantum groups the notion of quantum tangent space is introduced. In generalization of a result by Woronowicz a one to one correspondence between quantum tangent spaces and covariant first order differential calculi is established. This result is used to classify differential calculi over quantum Grassmann manifolds. It turns out that up to special cases in low dimensions there exists exactly one such calculus of classical dimension 2r(N-r). Keywords: Quantum groups, quantum spaces, quantum Grassmann manifolds, differential cal…
We show that if $g_Γ$ is the quantum tangent space (or quantum Lie algebra in the sense of Woronowicz) of a bicovariant first order differential calculus over a coquasitriangular Hopf algebra $(A,r)$, then a certain extension of it is a braided Lie algebra in the category of $A$-comodules. This is used to show that the Woronowicz quantum universal enveloping algebra $U(g_Γ)$ is a bialgebra in the braided category of $A$-comodules. We show that this algebra is quadratic when the calculus is inner. Examples with this unexpected property include finite groups and quantum groups with their standar…
The aim of the paper is twofold. First, we introduce analogs of (partial) derivatives on certain Noncommutative algebras, including some enveloping algebras and their "braided counterparts", namely, the so-called modified Reflection Equation algebras. By using these derivatives we construct an analog of the de Rham complex on these algebras. Second, we discuss deformation property of some quantum algebras and show that contrary to a commonly held view, in the so-called q-Witt algebra there is no analog of the PBW theorem. In this connection, we discuss different forms of the Jacobi condition r…
We demonstrate our recent general results on the Casimir construction and moduli space of all bicovariant calculi by means of some detailed examples, including finite-difference and 2-jet cacluli on $\R^n$ and full details of the Casimir construction of the 4D calculus of $SU_q(2)$. We likewise demonstrate our previous general constructions with T. Brzezinski of quantum group gauge theory with examples of such nonuniversal differential calculi on spacetime. We outline a notion of quantum homotopy of a quantum space. We indicate a possible application to classical integrable systems.
The main goal of this review is to compare different approaches to constructing geometry associated with a Hecke type braiding (in particular, with that related to the quantum group U_q(sl(n))). We make an emphasis on affine braided geometry related to the so-called Reflection Equation Algebra (REA). All objects of such type geometry are defined in the spirit of affine algebraic geometry via polynomial relations on generators. We begin with comparing the Poisson counterparts of "quantum varieties" and describe different approaches to their quantization. Also, we exhibit two approaches to intro…
We classify all fusion categories for a given set of fusion rules with three simple object types. If a conjecture of Ostrik is true, our classification completes the classification of fusion categories with three simple object types. To facilitate the discussion we describe a convenient, concrete and useful variation of graphical calculus for fusion categories, discuss pivotality and sphericity in this framework, and give a short and elementary re-proof of the fact that the quadruple dual functor is naturally isomorphic to the identity.
We construct a quantum frame bundle of the quantum plane $C^2_p$ by requiring that a $GL_{q,p}(2)$-covariant differential calculus on $C^2_p$ be isomorphic as a bimodule to the space of sections of the associated quantum cotangent bundle. We also construct the section space of the associated quantum tangent bundle, and show that it is naturally dual to the differential calculus.
Concepts of first order differential calculus (FODC) on a monoidal Hom-algebra and left-covariant FODC over a left Hom-quantum space with respect to a monoidal Hom-Hopf algebra are presented. Then, extension of the universal FODC over a monoidal Hom-algebra to a universal Hom-differential calculus is described. Next, concepts of left(right)-covariant and bicovariant FODC over a monoidal Hom-Hopf algebra are studied in detail. Subsequently, notion of quantum Hom-tangent space associated to a bicovariant Hom-FODC is introduced and equipped with an analogue of Lie bracket (commutator) through Wor…
For transcendental values of q the quantum tangent spaces of all left-covariant first order differential calculi of dimension less than four on the quantum group $\SLq 2$ are given. All such differential calculi $Γ$ are determined and investigated for which the left-invariant differential one-forms $ω(u^1_2)$, $ω(u^2_1)$ and $ω(u^1_1-u^2_2)$ generate $Γ$ as a bimodule and the universal higher order differential calculus has the same dimension as in the classical case. Important properties (cohomology spaces, *-structures, braidings, generalized Lie brackets) of these calculi are examined as we…
We introduce the notion of a braided algebra and study some examples of these. In particular, R-symmetric and R-skew-symmetric algebras of a linear space V equipped with a skew-invertible Hecke symmetry R are braided algebras. We prove the "mountain property" for the numerators and denominators of their Poincare-Hilbert series (which are always rational functions). Also, we further develop a differential calculus on modified Reflection Equation algebras. Thus, we exhibit a new form of the Leibniz rule for partial derivatives on such algebras related to involutive symmetries R. In particular, w…
Let (G,d) be a first order differential *-calculus on a *-algebra A. We say that a pair (π,F) of a *-representation πof A on a dense domain D of a Hilbert space and a symmetric operator F on D gives a commutator representation of G if there exists a linear mapping t:G -> L(D) such that t(adb)=π(a)i[F,π(b)], a,b in A. Among others, it is shown that each left-covariant *-calculus G of a compact quantum group Hopf *-algebra A has a faithful commutator representation. For a class of bicovariant *-calculi on A there is a commutator representation such that F is the image of a central element of the…
In this paper we review the recently proposed path-integral counterpart of the Koopman-von Neumann operatorial approach to classical Hamiltonian mechanics. We identify in particular the geometrical variables entering this formulation and show that they are essentially a basis of the cotangent bundle to the tangent bundle to phase-space. In this space we introduce an extended Poisson brackets structure which allows us to re-do all the usual Cartan calculus on symplectic manifolds via these brackets. We also briefly sketch how the Schouten-Nijenhuis, the Frölicher- Nijenhuis and the Nijenhuis-Ri…

In this research a novel stochastic gradient descent based learning approach for the radial basis function neural networks (RBFNN) is proposed. The proposed method is based on the q-gradient which is also known as Jackson derivative. In contrast to the conventional gradient, which finds the tangent, the q-gradient finds the secant of the function and takes larger steps towards the optimal solution. The proposed $q$-RBFNN is analyzed for its convergence performance in the context of least square algorithm. In particular, a closed form expression of the Wiener solution is obtained, and stability…
Based on \cite{DH94}, we introduce a bijective correspondence between first order differential calculi and the graph structure of the symmetric lattice that allows one to encode completely the interconnection structure of the graph in the exterior derivative. As a result, we obtain the Grassmannian character of the lattice as well as the mutual commutativity between basic vector-fields on the tangent space. This in turn gives several similarities between the Clifford setting and the algebra of endomorphisms endowed by the graph structure, such as the hermitian structure of the lattice as well …
We construct noncommutative `Riemannian manifold' structures on dual quasitriangular Hopf algebras such as $C_q[SU_2]$ with its standard bicovariant differential calculus, using the quantum frame bundle formalism introduced previously. The metric is provided by the braided-Killing form on the braided-Lie algebra on the tangent space and the $n$-bein by the Maurer-Cartan form. We also apply the theory to finite sets and in particular to finite group function algebras $C[G]$ with differential calculi and Killing forms determined by a conjugacy class. The case of the permutation group $C[S_3]$ is…

Whereas the classical sphere $C P^1$ can be defined as the coordinate algebra generated by the matrix entries of a projector $e$ with $\trace(e)=1$, the fuzzy-sphere is defined in the same way by $\trace(e)=1+λ$. We show that the standard $q$-sphere is similarly defined by $\trace_q(e)=1$ and the Podles 2-spheres by $\trace_q(e)=1+λ$, thereby giving a unified point of view in which the 2-parameter Podles spheres are $q$-fuzzy spheres. We show further that they arise geometrically as `constant time slices' of the unit hyperboloid in $q$-Minkowski space viewed as the braided group $B_q[SU_2]$. T…
We show that the bicovariant first order differential calculi on a factorisable semisimple quantum group are in 1-1 correspondence with irreducible representations $V$ of the quantum group enveloping algebra. The corresponding calculus is constructed and has dimension $dim V^2$. The differential calculi on a finite group algebra $C G$ are also classified and shown to be in correspondence with pairs consisting of an irreducible representation $V$ and a continuous parameter in $C P^{dim V -1}$. They have dimension $dim V$. For a classical Lie group we obtain an infinite family of non-standard ca…
In differential geometry, the notation d^n f along with the corresponding formalism has fallen into disuse since the birth of exterior calculus. However, differentials of higher order are useful objects that can be interpreted in terms of functions on iterated tangent bundles (or in terms of jets). We generalize this notion to the case of non commutative differential geometry. For an arbitrary associative algebra A, one already knows how to define the differential algebra Omega(A) of universal differential forms over A. We define Leibniz forms of order n (these are not forms of degree n, ie th…
