We propose a generalized oscillator algebra at the roots of unity with generalized exclusion and we investigate the braided Hopf structure. We find that there are two solutions: these are the generalized exclusions of the bosonic and fermionic types. We also discuss the covariance properties of these oscillators
We study the relationships among the various forms of the $q$ oscillator algebra and consider the conditions under which it supports a Hopf structure. We also present a generalization of this algebra together with its corresponding Hopf structure. Its multimode extensions are also considered.
We extend the universal differential calculus on an arbitrary Hopf algebra to a ``universal Cartan calculus''. This is accomplished by introducing inner derivations and Lie derivatives which act on the elements of the universal differential envelope. A new algebra is formulated by incorporating these new objects into the universal differential calculus together with consistent commutation relations. We also explain how to include nontrivial commutation relations into this formulation to obtain the ``generalized Cartan calculus''.
We systematically study the exclusion statistics for quasi-particles for Conformal Field Theory spectra by employing a method based on recursion relations for truncated spectra. Our examples include generalized fermions in c<1 unitary minimal models, Z_k parafermions, and spinons for the su(n)_1, so(n)_1 and sp(2n)_1 Wess-Zumino-Witten models. For some of the latter examples we present explicit expressions for finitized affine characters and for the N-spinon decomposition of affine characters.
Following the recent work by Chan, and by Morton and Hadji on the Homflypt polynomials of some generalized Hopf links, we investigate the Kauffman polynomials of generalized Hopf links. By studying the Kauffman skein module of the solid torus S^1\times D^2, we establish a similar skein map on the Kauffman skein module of S^1\times D^2 which has distinct eigenvalues. Furthermore we are able to calculate the Kauffman polynomials of some specific generalized Hopf links.
We investigate criteria for algebra extensions that are of Galois type with respect to the coaction of a Hopf algebra or, more generally, a one-sided quotient of a Hopf algebra, or with respect to an entwining. We study the module- and comodule-theoretical properties of such extensions.
We study actions of pointed Hopf algebras in the $\ZZ$-graded setting. Our main result classifies inner-faithful actions of generalized Taft algebras on quantum generalized Weyl algebras which respect the $\ZZ$-grading. We also show that generically the invariant rings of Taft actions on quantum generalized Weyl algebras are commutative Kleinian singularities.
In a recent paper (1994 {\sl J.\ Phys.\ A: Math.\ Gen.\ }{\bf 27} 5907), Oh and Singh determined a Hopf structure for a generalized $q$-oscillator algebra. We prove that under some general assumptions, the latter is, apart from some algebras isomorphic to su$_q$(2), su$_q$(1,1), or their undeformed counterparts, the only generalized deformed oscillator algebra that supports a Hopf structure. We show in addition that the latter can be equipped with a universal $\cR$-matrix, thereby making it into a quasitriangular Hopf algebra.
A category of coefficients for Hopf cyclic cohomology is defined. It is shown that this category has two proper subcategories of which the smallest one is the known category of stable anti Yetter-Drinfeld modules. The middle subcategory is comprised of those coefficients which satisfy a generalized SAYD condition depending on both the Hopf algebra and the (co)algebra in question. Some examples are introduced to show that these three categories are different. It is shown that all components of Hopf cyclic cohomology work well with the new coefficients we have defined.
In this paper we introduce generalizations of diagonal crossed products, two-sided crossed products and two-sided smash products, for a quasi-Hopf algebra H. The results we obtain may be applied to H^*-Hopf bimodules and generalized Yetter-Drinfeld modules. The generality of our situation entails that the "generating matrix" formalism cannot be used, forcing us to use a different approach. This pays off because as an application we obtain an easy conceptual proof of an important but very technical result of Hausser and Nill concerning iterated two-sided crossed products.
A combinatorial Hopf algebra is a graded connected Hopf algebra over a field $F$ equipped with a character (multiplicative linear functional) $ζ:H\to F$. We show that the terminal object in the category of combinatorial Hopf algebras is the algebra $QSym$ of quasi-symmetric functions; this explains the ubiquity of quasi-symmetric functions as generating functions in combinatorics. We illustrate this with several examples. We prove that every character decomposes uniquely as a product of an even character and an odd character. Correspondingly, every combinatorial Hopf algebra $(H,ζ)$ possesses …
The quantized enveloping algebra $U_q$ is constructed as a quotient of the generalized quantum double $ U^{\leq 0}_q \cmdbicross_τ U^{\geq 0}_q $ associated to a natural skew pairing $ τ: U^{\leq 0}_q \otimes U^{\geq 0}_q \to k $. This double is generalized by $\cmdcalD = (\cmdfrakB (V) \cmddotrtimes F) \cmdbicross_τ (\cmdfrakB (W) \cmddotrtimes G)$, where $F$, $G$ are abelian groups, $ V \in {}^F_F \cmdcalYD $, $ W \in {}^G_G \cmdcalYD $ are Yetter-Drinfeld modules and $ \cmdfrakB (V) $, $ \cmdfrakB (W) $ are their Nichols algebras. We prove some results on Hopf ideals of $ \cmdcalD $, includ…
We provide necessary and sufficient conditions to extend the Hopf-Galois algebra structure on an algebra R to a generalized ambiskew ring based on R, in a way such that the added variables for the extension are skew-primitive in an appropriate sense. We show that the associated Hopf algebra is again a a generalized ambiskew ring, based on a suitable Hopf algebra H(R). Several examples are examined, including the Hopf-Galois objects over Uq(sl2).
In the 90s, based on presentations of 3-manifolds by Heegaard diagrams, Kuperberg associated a scalar invariant of 3-manifolds to each finite dimensional involutory Hopf algebra over a field. We generalize this construction to the case of involutory Hopf algebras in arbitrary symmetric monoidal categories admitting certain pairs of morphisms called good pairs. We construct examples of such good pairs for involutory Hopf algebras whose distinguished grouplike elements are central. The generalized construction is illustrated by an example of an involutory super Hopf algebra.
For a quasi-Hopf algebra $H$, a left $H$-comodule algebra $\mf{B}$ and a right $H$-module coalgebra $C$ we will characterize the category of Doi-Hopf modules ${}^C{\cal M}(H)_{\mf{B}}$ in terms of modules. We will also show that for an $H$-bicomodule algebra $\mb{A}$ and an $H$-bimodule coalgebra $C$ the category of generalized Yetter-Drinfeld modules ${}_{\mb{A}}{\cal YD}(H)^C$ is isomorphic to a certain category of Doi-Hopf modules. Using this isomorphism we will transport the properties from the category of Doi-Hopf modules to the category of generalized Yetter-Drinfeld modules.
We define a new kind quantized enveloping algebra of a generalized Kac-Moody algebra ${\mathcal G}$ by adding a new generator $J$ satisfying $J^m=J$ for some integer $m$. We denote this algebra by $wU_q^τ({\mathcal G})$. This algebra is a weak Hopf algebra if and only if $m=2,3$. In general, it is a bialgebra, and contains a Hopf subalgebra. This Hopf subalgebra is isomorphic to the usually quantum envelope algebra $U_q({\mathcal G})$ of a generalized Kac-Moody algebra ${\mathcal G}$.
Certain types of generalized undeformed and deformed boson algebras which admit a Hopf algebra structure are introduced, together with their Fock-type representations and their corresponding $R$-matrices. It is also shown that a class of generalized Heisenberg algebras including those algebras including those underlying physical models such as that of Calogero-Sutherland, is isomorphic with one of the types of boson algebra proposed, and can be formulated as a Hopf algebra.
We study a new process, which we call ASEP$(q,j)$, where particles move asymmetrically on a one-dimensional integer lattice with a bias determined by $q\in (0,1)$ and where at most $2j\in\mathbb{N}$ particles per site are allowed. The process is constructed from a $(2j+1)$-dimensional representation of a quantum Hamiltonian with $U_q(\mathfrak{sl}_2)$ invariance by applying a suitable ground-state transformation. After showing basic properties of the process ASEP$(q,j)$, we prove self-duality with several self-duality functions constructed from the symmetries of the quantum Hamiltonian. By mak…
Two general families of new quantum deformed current algebras are proposed and identified both as infinite Hopf family of algebras, a structure which enable one to define ``tensor products'' of these algebras. The standard quantum affine algebras turn out to be a very special case of both algebra families, in which case the infinite Hopf family structure degenerates into standard Hopf algebras. The relationship between the two algebra families as well as their various special examples are discussed, and the free boson representation is also considered.
We discuss the relationship between Hopf superalgebras and Hopf algebras. We list the braided vector spaces of diagonal type with generalized root system of super type and give the defining relations of the corresponding Nichols algebras.
The notions of Galois and cleft extensions are generalized for coquasi-Hopf algebras. It is shown that such an extension over a coquasi-Hopf algebra is cleft if and only if it is Galois and has the normal basis property. A Schneider type theorem is proven for coquasi-Hopf algebras with bijective antipode. As an application, we generalize Schauenburg's bialgebroid construction for coquasi-Hopf algebras.
We classify finite-dimensional complex Hopf algebras $A$ which are pointed, that is, all of whose irreducible comodules are one-dimensional, and whose group of group-like elements $G(A)$ is abelian such that all prime divisors of the order of $G(A)$ are $>7$. Since these Hopf algebras turn out to be deformations of a natural class of generalized small quantum groups, our result can be read as an axiomatic description of generalized small quantum groups.
Let $W$ be a Coxeter group. The goal of the paper is to construct new Hopf algebras that contain Hecke algebras $H_{\bf q}(W)$ as (left) coideal subalgebras. Our Hecke-Hopf algebras ${\bf H}(W)$ have a number of applications. In particular they provide new solutions of quantum Yang-Baxter equation and lead to a construction of a new family of endo-functors of the category of $H_{\bf q}(W)$-modules. Hecke-Hopf algebras for the symmetric group are related to Fomin-Kirillov algebras, for an arbitrary Coxeter group $W$ the "Demazure" part of ${\bf H}(W)$ is being acted upon by generalized braided …
The codomain category of a generalized homology theory is the category of modules over a ring. For an abelian category A, an A-valued (generalized) homology theory is defined by formally replacing the category of modules with the category A. It is known that the category of bicommutative (i.e. commutative and cocommutative) Hopf algebras over a field k is an abelian category. Denote the category by H. In this paper, we give some ways to construct H-valued homology theories. As a main result, we give H-valued homology theories whose coefficients are neither group Hopf algebras nor function Hopf…
In formulating a generalized framework to study certain noncommutative algebras naturally arising in representation theory, K. A. Brown asked if every finitely generated Hopf algebra satisfying a polynomial identity was finite over a normal commutative Hopf subalgebra. In this note we show that Radford's biproduct, applied to the enveloping algebra of the Lie superalgebra pl(1,1), provides a noetherian prime counterexample.
We give a presentation in terms of generators and relations of Hopf algebras generated by skew-primitive elements and abelian group of group-like elements with action given via characters. This class of pointed Hopf algebras has shown great importance in the classification theory and can be seen as generalized quantum groups. As a consequence we get an analog presentation of Nichols algebras of diagonal type.
We prove that a depth two Hopf subalgebra K of a semisimple Hopf algebra H is normal (where the ground field $k$ is algebraically closed of characteristic zero). This means on the one hand that a Hopf subalgebra is normal when inducing (then restricting) modules several times as opposed to one time creates no new simple constituents. This point of view was taken in the paper http://arxiv.org/abs/math/0409346 which established a normality result in case H and K are finite group algebras. On the other hand this means that K is normal in H when H | K is a Galois extension with respect to action o…
Let H be a Hopf algebra with bijective antipode, let α, βbe two Hopf algebra automorphisms of H and M a finite dimensional (α, β)-Yetter-Drinfeld module. We prove that End(M) endowed with certain structures becomes an H-Azumaya algebra, and the set of H-Azumaya algebras of this type is a subgroup of BQ(k, H), the Brauer group of H.
We give a necessary and sufficient PBW basis criterion for Hopf algebras generated by skew-primitive elements and abelian group of group-like elements with action given via characters. This class of pointed Hopf algebras has shown great importance in the classification theory and can be seen as generalized quantum groups. We apply the criterion to classical examples and liftings of Nichols algebras which were determined in arxiv.org:1003.5882.
"Co-Frobenius" coalgebras were introduced as dualizations of Frobenius algebras. Recently, it was shown in \cite{I} that they admit left-right symmetric characterizations analogue to those of Frobenius algebras: a coalgebra $C$ is co-Frobenius if and only if it is isomorphic to its rational dual. We consider the more general quasi-co-Frobenius (QcF) coalgebras; in the first main result we show that these also admit symmetric characterizations: a coalgebra is QcF if it is weakly isomorphic to its (left, or equivalently right) rational dual $Rat(C^*)$, in the sense that certain coproduct or prod…
We define left and right kernels of representations of Hopf algebras. In the case of group algebras, left and right kernels coincide and they are the usual kernels of modules. In the general case we show that these kernels coincide with the categorical left and right Hopf kernels of morphisms of Hopf algebras defined in \cite{AD}. Brauer's theorem for kernels over group algebras is generalized to Hopf algebras.
Given a Hopf algebra $H$ and a projection $H\to A$ to a Hopf subalgebra, we construct a Hopf algebra $r(H)$, called the partial dualization of $H$, with a projection to the Hopf algebra dual to $A$. This construction provides powerful techniques in the general setting of braided monoidal categories. The construction comprises in particular the reflections of generalized quantum groups, arxiv:1111.4673 . We prove a braided equivalence between the Yetter-Drinfel'd modules over a Hopf algebra and its partial dualization.
Let $(H, σ)$ be a coquasitriangular Hopf algebra, not necessarily finite dimensional. Following methods of Doi and Takeuchi, which parallel the constructions of Radford in the case of finite dimensional quasitriangular Hopf algebras, we define $H_σ$, a sub-Hopf algebra of $H^0$, the finite dual of $H$. Using the generalized quantum double construction and the theory of Hopf algebras with a projection, we associate to $H$ a braided Hopf algebra structure in the category of Yetter-Drinfeld modules over $H_σ^{\rm cop}$. Specializing to $H={\rm SL}_q(N)$, we obtain explicit formulas which endow ${…
We construct the general supersymmetry algebra via the adjoint action on a semi-Hopf algebra which has a more general structure than a Hopf algebra. As a result we have an extended supersymmetry theory with quantum gauge group, i.e., quantised enveloping algebra of a simple Lie algebra. For the example, we construct the N=1 and generalized N=2 supersymmetry theory which leads to the Seiberg-Witten theory.
Starting with a given generalized boson algebra U_<q>(h(1)) known as the bosonized version of the quantum super-Hopf U_q[osp(1/2)] algebra, we employ the Hopf duality arguments to provide the dually conjugate function algebra Fun_<q>(H(1)). Both the Hopf algebras being finitely generated, we produce a closed form expression of the universal T matrix that caps the duality and generalizes the familiar exponential map relating a Lie algebra with its corresponding group. Subsequently, using an inverse Mellin transform approach, the coherent states of single-node systems subject to the U_<q>(h(1)) …
Deformed parabose and parafermi algebras are revised and endowed with Hopf structure in a natural way. The noncocommutative coproduct allows for construction of parastatistics Fock-like representations, built out of the simplest deformed bose and fermi representations. The construction gives rise to quadratic algebras of deformed anomalous commutation relations which define the generalized Green ansatz.
Classifying Hopf algebras of a given dimension is a hard and open question. Using the generalized lifting method, we determine all finite-dimensional Hopf algebras over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero whose coradical generates a Hopf algebra $H$ of dimension $16$ without the Chevalley property and the corresponding infinitesimal braidings are simple objects in $\HYD$. In particular, we figure out $8$ classes of new Hopf algebras of dimension $128$ without the Chevalley property.
