英文摘要:
We introduce a notion of derived Azumaya's algebras over rings and schemes. We prove that any such algebra $B$ on a scheme $X$ provides a class $ϕ(B)$ in $H^{1}_{et}(X,\mathbb{Z})\times H^{2}_{et}(X,\mathbb{G}_{m})$. We prove that for $X$ a quasi-compact and quasi-separated scheme $ϕ$ defines a bijective correspondence, and in particular that any class in $H^{2}_{et}(X,\mathbb{G}_{m})$, torsion or not, can be represented by a derived Azumaya's algebra on $X$. Our result is a consequence of a more general theorem about the existence of compact generators in \emph{twisted derived categories, with coefficients in any local system of reasonable dg-categories}, generalizing the well known existence of compact generators in derived categories of quasi-coherent sheaves of \cite{bv} (corresponding to the trivial local system of dg-categories). A huge part of this paper concerns the correct treatment of these twisted derived categories, as well as the proof that the existence of compact generators locally for the fppf topology implies the existence of a global compact generator.
We construct a relative version of topological $K$-theory of dg categories over an arbitrary quasi-compact, quasi-separated $\mathbb{C}$-scheme $X$. This has as input a $\text{Perf}(X)$-linear stable $\infty$-category and output a sheaf of spectra on $X(\mathbb{C})$, the space of complex points of $X$. We then characterize the values of this functor on inputs of the form $Mod_{A}^ω$, for $A$ a derived Azumaya algebra over $X$. In such cases we show that this coincides with the $α$-twisted topological $K$-theory of $X(\mathbb{C})$ for some appropriately defined twist of $K$-theory. We use this …
In arXiv:1606.07885, many different Grothendieck topologies were introduced on the category of Azumaya algebras. Here we give a classification in terms of sets of supernatural numbers. Then we discuss the associated categories of sheaves and their topos-theoretic points, which are related to UHF-algebras. The sheaf toposes that correspond to a single supernatural number have an alternative description, involving actions of the associated projective general linear group.
We describe an Azumaya algebra on the resolution of singularities of the double cover of a plane ramified along a nodal sextic associated to a non generic cubic fourfold containing a plane. We show that the derived category of such a resolution, twisted by the Azumaya algebra, is equivalent to the Kuznetsov component in the semiorthogonal decomposition of the derived category of the cubic fourfold.
Nontrivial Azumaya noncommutative schemes, morphisms therefrom, and their extension by the sheaf of algebras of differential operators: D-branes in a $B$-field background à la Polchinski-Grothendieck Ansatz
In order to give a formal treatment of differential equations in positive characteristic p, it is necessary to use divided powers. One runs into an analog problem in the theory of q-difference equations when q is a pth root of unity. We introduce here a notion of twisted divided powers (relative to q) and show that one can recover the twisted Weyl algebra and obtain a twisted p-curvature map that describes the center of the twisted Weyl algebra. We also build a divided p-Frobenius that will give, by duality, a formal Azumaya splitting of the twisted Weyl algebra as well as a twisted Simpson co…
A class of noncommutative spaces, named `soft noncommutative schemes via toric geometry', are constructed and the mathematical model for (dynamical/nonsolitonic, complex algebraic) D-branes on such a noncommutative space, following arXiv:0709.1515 [math.AG] (D(1)), is given. Any algebraic Calabi-Yau space that arises from a complete intersection in a smooth toric variety can embed as a commutative closed subscheme of some soft noncommutative scheme. Along the study, the notion of `soft noncommutative toric schemes' associated to a (simplicial, maximal cone of index $1$) fan, `invertible sheave…
Using twisted and formal-local methods, we prove that every separated algebraic space which is the (open/flat) pushout of affine schemes has enough Azumaya algebras. As a corollary we show that, under mild hypothesis, every cohomological Brauer class is representable by an Azumaya algebra away from a closed subset of codimension $\geq 3$, generalizing an early result of Grothendieck. Next, we show that $\mathrm{Br}(X)=\mathrm{Br}'(X)$ when $X$ is an algebraic space obtained from a quasi-projective scheme by contracting a curve. This is the first method of descending an Azumaya algebra along a …
We prove that Toen's secondary Grothendieck ring is isomorphic to the Grothendieck ring of smooth proper pretriangulated dg categories previously introduced by Bondal, Larsen and Lunts. Along the way, we show that those short exact sequences of dg categories in which the first term is smooth proper and the second term is proper are necessarily split. As an application, we prove that the canonical map from the derived Brauer group to the secondary Grothendieck ring has the following injective properties: in the case of a commutative ring of characteristic zero, it distinguishes between dg Azuma…
We study twisted vector bundles of infinite rank on gerbes, giving a new spin on Grothendieck's famous problem on the equality of the Brauer group and cohomological Brauer group. We show that the relaxed version of the question has an affirmative answer in many, but not all, cases, including for any algebraic space with the resolution property and any algebraic space obtained by pinching two closed subschemes of a projective scheme. We also discuss some possible theories of infinite rank Azumaya algebras, consider a new class of "very positive" infinite rank vector bundles on projective variet…
We study the Hodge theory of twisted derived categories and its relation to the period-index problem. Our main contribution is the development of a theory of twisted Mukai structures for topologically trivial Brauer classes on arbitrary smooth proper varieties and in families. As applications, we construct Hodge classes whose algebraicity would imply period-index bounds; construct new counterexamples to the integral Hodge conjecture on Severi-Brauer varieties; and prove the integral Hodge conjecture for derived categories of Deligne-Mumford surfaces.
We develop a theory of unbounded derived categories of quasi-coherent sheaves on algebraic stacks. In particular, we show that these categories are compactly generated by perfect complexes for stacks that either have finite stabilizers or are local quotient stacks. We also extend Toën and Antieau--Gepner's results on derived Azumaya algebras and compact generation of sheaves on linear categories from derived schemes to derived Deligne--Mumford stacks. These are all consequences of our main theorem: compact generation of a presheaf of triangulated categories on an algebraic stack is local for t…
In this paper we study the homotopy limits of cosimplicial diagrams of dg-categories. We first give an explicit construction of the totalization of such a diagram and then show that the totalization agrees with the homotopy limit in the following two cases: (1) the complexes of sheaves of $\mathcal O$-modules on the Čech nerve of an open cover of a ringed space $(X, \mathcal O)$; (2) the complexes of sheaves on the simplicial nerve of a discrete group $G$ acting on a space. The explicit models we obtain in this way are twisted complexes as well as their $D$-module and $G$-equivariant versions.…
In this paper, we study equivalences between the categories of quasi-coherent sheaves on non-commutative noetherian schemes. In particular, give a new proof of Caldararu's conjecture about Morita equivalences of Azumaya algebras on noetherian schemes. Moreover, we derive necessary and sufficient condition for two reduced non-commutative curves to be Morita equivalent.
The Fukaya category of a punctured surface can be reconstructed from a pair-of-pants decomposition using a formal construction that attaches a category to a trivalent graph. We extend this formal construction to include a choice of line field on the surface, this requires a certain decoration on the graph. On the mirror side we show that this leads to a kind of twisted derived category which has not been widely studied. Mirror symmetry predicts that our category should be an invariant of decorated graphs and we prove that this is indeed the case, using only B-model methods. We also give B-mode…
We prove a localization theorem for the type A rational Cherednik algebra H_c=H_{1,c} over an algebraic closure of the finite field F_p. In the most interesting special case where the parameter c takes values in F_p, we construct an Azumaya algebra A_c on Hilb^n, the Hilbert scheme of n points in the plane, such that the algebra of global sections of A_c is isomorphic to H_c. Our localisation theorem provides an equivalence between the bounded derived categories of H_c-modules and sheaves of coherent A_c-modules on the Hilbert scheme, respectively. Furthermore, we show that the Azumaya algebra…
We present a framework that connects three interesting classes of groups: the twisted groups (also known as Suzuki-Ree groups), the mixed groups and the exotic pseudo-reductive groups. For a given characteristic p, we construct categories of twisted and mixed schemes. Ordinary schemes are a full subcategory of the mixed schemes. Mixed schemes arise from a twisted scheme by base change, although not every mixed scheme arises this way. The group objects in these categories are called twisted and mixed group schemes. Our main theorems state: (1) The twisted Chevalley groups ${}^2\mathsf B_2$, ${}…
The classical Skolem--Noether Theorem [Giraud, 71] shows us (1) how we can assign to an Azumaya algebra $A$ on a scheme $X$ a cohomological Brauer class in $H^2(X,\mathbf G_m)$ and (2) how Azumaya algebras correspond to twisted vector bundles. The Derived Skolem--Noether Theorem [Lieblich, 09] generalizes this result to weak algebras in the derived 1-category locally quasi-isomorphic to derived endomorphism algebras of perfect complexes. We show that in general for a co-family $\mathscr C^\otimes$ of presentable monoidal quasi-categories with descent over a quasi-category with a Grothendieck t…
In this paper, we give a Verlinde formula for computing the ranks of the bundles of twisted conformal blocks associated with a simple Lie algebra equipped with an action of a finite group $Γ$ and a positive integral level $\ell$ under the assumption that "$Γ$ preserves a Borel". As a motivation for this Verlinde formula, we prove a categorical Verlinde formula which computes the fusion coefficients for any $Γ$-crossed modular fusion category as defined by Turaev. To relate these two versions of the Verlinde formula, we formulate the notion of a $Γ$-crossed modular functor and show that it is v…
We show that the residual categories of quadric surface bundles are equivalent to the (twisted) derived categories of some scheme under the following hypotheses. Case 1: The quadric surface bundle has a smooth section. Case 2: The total space of the quadric surface bundle is smooth and the base is a smooth surface. We provide two proofs in Case 1 describing the scheme as the hyperbolic reduction and as a subscheme of the relative Hilbert scheme of lines, respectively. In Case 2, the twisted scheme is obtained by performing birational transformations to the relative Hilbert scheme of lines. Fin…
We study the derived categories of twisted supersingular K3 surfaces. We prove a derived crystalline Torelli theorem for twisted supersingular K3 surfaces, characterizing Fourier-Mukai equivalences in terms of isomorphisms between their associated K3 crystals. This is a positive characteristic analog of the Hodge-theoretic derived Torelli theorem of Orlov, and its extension to twisted K3 surfaces by Huybrechts and Stellari. We give applications to various questions concerning Fourier-Mukai partners, extending results of Căldăraru and Huybrechts and Stellari. We also give an exact formula for t…
We introduce the notion of (twisted) quiver representations in abelian categories and study the category of such representations. We construct standard resolutions and coresolutions of quiver representations and study basic homological properties of the category of representations. These results are applied in the case of parabolic vector bundles and framed coherent sheaves.
This paper is dedicated to a further study of derived Azumaya algebras. The first result we obtain is a Beauville-Laszlo-style property for such objects (considered up to Morita equivalence), which is consequence of a more general Beauville-Laszlo kind of statement for quasi-coherent sheaves of categories. Next, we prove that given any (derived) scheme $X$, proper over the spectrum of a quasi-excellent Henselian ring, the derived Brauer group of $X$ injects into the one of the Henselization of $X$ along the base, generalizing a classical result of Grothendieck and a more recent theorem of Geis…
We develop an approach that allows to construct semiorthogonal decompositions of derived categories of surfaces with cyclic quotient singularities whose components are equivalent to derived categories of local finite dimensional algebras. We first explain how to induce a semiorthogonal decomposition of a surface $X$ with rational singularities from a semiorthogonal decomposition of its resolution. In the case when $X$ has cyclic quotient singularities, we introduce the condition of adherence for the components of the semiorthogonal decomposition of the resolution that allows to identify the co…
We construct a natural semiorthogonal decomposition for the derived category of an arbitrary flat family of sextic del Pezzo surfaces with at worst du Val singularities. This decomposition has three components equivalent to twisted derived categories of finite flat schemes of degrees 1, 3, and 2 over the base of the family. We provide a modular interpretation for these schemes and compute them explicitly in a number of standard families. For two such families the computation is based on a symmetric version of homological projective duality for $\mathbb{P}^2 \times \mathbb{P}^2$ and $\mathbb{P}…
