Let q be a power of a prime p. We prove an assertion of Carlitz which takes q as parameter. Diaz-Vargas' proof of the Riemann Hypothesis for the Goss zeta function for F_p[T] depends on his verification of Carlitz's assertion for the specific case q = p. Our proof of the general case allows us to extend Diaz-Vargas' proof to F_q[T].
In 2007 Chang and Yu determined all the algebraic relations among Goss's zeta values for the rational function field - these are also known as the Carlitz zeta values. Goss raised the problem about algebraic relations among Goss's zeta values for a general base ring A, but very little is known. In this paper we develop a general method and determine all algebraic relations among Goss's zeta values for the base ring A attached to an elliptic curve over a finite field. To our knowledge, these are the first non-trivial solutions of Goss's problem for a base ring whose class number is strictly gre…
In this short note, we give a proof of the Riemann hypothesis for Goss $v$-adic zeta function $ζ_{v}(s)$, when $v$ is a prime of $\mathbb{F}_{q}[t]$ of degree one.
A theorem of Tate and Turner says that global function fields have the same zeta function if and only if the Jacobians of the corresponding curves are isogenous. In this note, we investigate what happens if we replace the usual (characteristic zero) zeta function by the positive characteristic zeta function introduced by Goss. We prove that for function fields whose characteristic exceeds their degree, equality of the Goss zeta function is the same as Gassmann-equivalence (a purely group theoretical property), but this statement fails if the degree exceeds the characteristic. We introduce a `T…
We study tensor powers of rank 1 sign-normalized Drinfeld A-modules, where A is the coordinate ring of an elliptic curve over a finite field. Using the theory of vector valued Anderson generating functions, we give formulas for the coefficients of the logarithm and exponential functions associated to these A-modules. We then show that there exists a vector whose bottom coordinate contains a Goss zeta value, whose evaluation under the exponential function is defined over the Hilbert class field. This allows us to prove the transcendence of Goss zeta values and periods of Drinfeld modules as wel…
In this paper, we generalize Bernoulli-Goss polynomials, and give a criterion on the divisibility of zeta functions of cyclotomic function fields. As an application of our criterion, for a given polynomial $f(u)$, we prove that there are infinitely many cyclotomic function fields whose zeta polynomial is divided by $f(u)$.
We introduce certain special polynomials in an arbitrary number of indeterminates over a finite field. These polynomials generalize the special polynomials associated to the Goss zeta function and Goss-Dirichlet $L$-functions over the ring of polynomials in one indeterminate over a finite field and also capture the special values at non-positive integers of $L$-series associated to Drinfeld modules over Tate algebras defined over the same ring. We compute the exact degree in $t_0$ of these special polynomials and show that this degree is an invariant for a natural action of Goss' group of digi…
Using elementary methods we find surprising connections between the values of the Riemann Zeta Function over integers and the fractional parts of rational powers, and a connection between the Riemann Zeta Function and the Prime Zeta Function.
The number of zeros and the distribution of the real part of non-real zeros of the derivatives of the Riemann zeta function have been investigated by Berndt, Levinson, Montgomery, and Akatsuka. Berndt, Levinson, and Montgomery investigated the general case, meanwhile Akatsuka gave sharper estimates for the first derivative of the Riemann zeta function under the truth of the Riemann hypothesis. In this paper, we extend the results of Akatsuka to the second derivative of the Riemann zeta function.
In this article we compute a discrete mean value of the derivative of the Riemann zeta function. This mean value will be important for several applications concerning the size of $ζ'(ρ)$ where $ζ(s)$ is the Riemann zeta function and $ρ$ is a non-trivial zero of the Riemann zeta function.
We show that the generalized Riemann hypothesis implies that there are infinitely many consecutive zeros of the Riemann zeta function whose spacing is 2.9125 times larger than the average spacing. This is deduced from the calculation of the second moment of the Riemann zeta function multiplied by a Dirichlet polynomial averaged over the zeros of the zeta function.
In this article, we establish an asymptotic formula for the eighth moment of the Riemann zeta function, assuming the Riemann hypothesis and a quaternary additive divisor conjecture. This builds on the work of the first author on the sixth moment of the Riemann zeta function and work of Conrey-Gonek and Ivić. A key input is a sharp bound for a certain shifted moment of the Riemann zeta function, assuming the Riemann hypothesis.
Assuming the Riemann Hypothesis we show that there exist infinitely many consecutive zeros of the Riemann zeta-function whose gaps are greater than 2.9 times the average spacing.
Assuming the Generalized Riemann Hypothesis(GRH), we show that infinitely often consecutive non-trivial zeros of the Riemann zeta-function differ by at least 3.072 times the average spacing.
We discuss moments of the Riemann zeta-function in this paper. The purpose of this paper is to give an upper bound of exponential moments of the logarithm of the Riemann zeta-function twisted by arguments. Our results contain an improvement of Najnudel result for exponential moments of the argument of the Riemann zeta-function and an unconditional upper bound of the moments.
We very slightly improve the leading constant of the (currently best) proven asymptotic zero-free region of the Riemann zeta-function, by using an easy improvement to a trigonometric polynomial.
In this paper, we prove the universality theorem for the iterated integrals of the logarithm of the Riemann zeta-function on some line parallel to the real axis.
In this paper, we generalize the results of Akatsuka to the $k$-th derivative (for positive integer $k$) of the Riemann zeta function.

This paper continues a series of investigations on converging representations for the Riemann Zeta function. We generalize some identities which involve Riemann's zeta function, and moreover we give new series and integrals for the zeta function. The results originate from attempts to extend the zeta function by classical means on the complex plane. This is particularly of interest for representations which converge rapidly in a given area of the complex plane, or for the purpose to make error bounds available.
Assume the Riemann hypothesis. On the right-hand side of the critical strip, we obtain an asymptotic formula for the discrete mean square of the Riemann zeta-function over imaginary parts of its zeros.
We present some bounds of the inverses of tails of the Riemann zeta function on $0 < s < 1$ and compute the integer parts of the inverses of tails of the Riemann zeta function for $s=\frac{1}{2}, \frac{1}{3}$ and $\frac{1}{4}$.
In this unpublished note, we sketch an idea of using a three-piece mollifier to slightly improve the known percentages of zeros and simple zeros of the Riemann zeta-function on the critical line. This uses the recent result of Bettin, Bui, Li and Radziwill [BBLR] on the twisted fourth moment of the Riemann zeta-function.
A new method for continuing the usual Dirichlet series that defines the Riemann zeta function $ζ(s)$ is presented. Numerical experiments demonstrating the computational efficacy of the resulting continuation are discussed.
The purpose of this article is to present closed forms for various types of infinite series involving Fibonacci (Lucas) numbers and the Riemann zeta function at integer arguments.
The authors conjecture an asymptotic expression for the sixth power moment of the Riemann zeta function. They establish related results on the asymptotics of the zeta function that support the conjecture.
We establish in this paper sharp lower bounds for the $2k$-th moment of the derivative of the Riemann zeta function on the critical line for all real $k \geq 0$.
We analyse a collection of mixed moments of the Riemann zeta function and establish the validity of asymptotic formulae. Such examinations are performed both unconditionally and under the assumption of a weaker version of the $abc$ conjecture.
In this paper, we give the integer parts of reciprocals of tails of the alternating Riemann zeta function at $s=1,2,3,4$ by using several new inequalities and elementary method.
We employ mean value estimates of Weyl sums in order to obtain discrete second moments of the Riemann Zeta-function with respect to polynomials near the vertical line $1+i\mathbb{R}$.
The Legendre type relation for the counting function of ordinary twin primes is reworked in terms of the inverse of the Riemann zeta function. Its analysis sheds light on the distribution of the zeros of the Riemann zeta function in the critical strip and their links to primes and the twin prime problem.
The paper describes a method for calculating values of Riemann's Zeta function within the critical strip 0< σ <1 and on its boundary. The approach is based on the "Alternating Zeta function" η(s). The actual Riemann Zeta function ζ(s) is easily obtained from η(s). The obtained accuracy, within certain limits of the described method is discussed. A decent scientific calculator suffices to carry out the involved computations.
We introduce an explicit formula for a reciprocal sum related to the Riemann zeta function at s=6, and pose one question related to a computational formula for larger values of s.
Observing a multiple version of the divisor function we introduce a new zeta function which we call a multiple finite Riemann zeta function. We utilize some $q$-series identity for proving the zeta function has an Euler product and then, describe the location of zeros. We study further multi-variable and multi-parameter versions of the multiple finite Riemann zeta functions and their infinite counterparts in connection with symmetric polynomials and some arithmetic quantities called powerful numbers.
Assuming the Riemann Hypothesis, we show that infinitely often consecutive non-trivial zeros of the Riemann zeta-function differ by at least 2.7327 times the average spacing and infinitely often they differ by at most 0.5154 times the average spacing.
The derivative of the Riemann zeta function was computed numerically on several large sets of zeros at large heights. Comparisons to known and conjectured asymptotics are presented.
Expressing Weierstrass type infinite products in terms of Stieltjes integrals is discussed. The asymptotic behavior of particular types of infinite products is compared against the asymptotic behavior of the entire function Xi(s), well-known in Riemann zeta function theory. An approximate formula for the distribution of the non-trivial roots of Riemann's zeta function is obtained.
In this paper, we study a more general pair correlation function, $F_h(x,T)$, of the zeros of the Riemann zeta function. It provides information on the distribution of larger differences between the zeros.
We consider a smooth counting function of the scaled zeros of the Riemann zeta function, around height T. We show that the first few moments tend to the Gaussian moments, with the exact number depending on the statistic considered.
