We prove that to each almost periodic (in the sense of distributions) divisor in a tube one can assign a first Chern class of a special line bundle over Bohr's compact set generated by the divisor such that the trivial cohomology class represents divisors of all almost periodic holomorphic functions on a tube. This description yields various geometric conditions for an almost periodic divisor to be the divisor of a holomorphic almost periodic function. We also give a complete description for the divisors of homogeneous coordinates for holomorphic almost periodic curves; in particular, we obtain a description for the divisors of meromorphic almost periodic functions.
Recently, there are many developments on the second main theorem for holomorphic curves into algebraic varieties intersecting divisors in general position or subgeneral position. In this paper, we refine the concept of subgeneral position by introducing the notion of the index of subgeneral position. With this new notion we give some surprising improvement of the previous known second main theorem type results. Moreover, via the analogue between Nevanlinna theory and Diophantine approximation, the corresponding Schmidt's subspace type theorems are also established in the final section.
Grauert showed that it is possible to construct complete Kähler metrics on the complement of complex analytic sets in a domain of holomorphy. In this note, we study the holomorphic sectional curvatures of such metrics on the complement of a principal divisor in $\mathbb{C}^n$, $n \ge 1$. In addition, we also study how this metric and its holomorphic sectional curvature behaves when the corresponding principal divisors vary continuously.
We deal with the distributions of holomorphic curves and integral points off divisors. We will simultaneouly prove an optimal dimension estimate from above of a subvariety W off a divisor D which contains a Zariski dense entire holomorphic curve, or a Zariski dense D-integral point set, provided that in the latter case everything is defined over a number field. Then, if the number of components of D is large, the estimate leads to the constancy of such a holomorphic curve or the finiteness of such an integral point set. At the begining, we extend logarithmic Bloch-Ochiai's Theorem to the Kaehl…
In this paper we study the problem of extension of holomorphic sections of line bundles/vector bundles from reduced unions of strata of divisors. An extension theorem of Ohsawa--Takegoshi type is proved. As consequences we deduce several qualitative results on extension from snc divisors and generic global generation of vector bundles.
We prove the existence of non-positively curved Kähler-Einstein metrics with cone singularities along a given simple normal crossing divisor on a compact Kähler manifold, under a technical condition on the cone angles, and we also discuss the case of positively-curved Kähler-Einstein metrics with cone singularities. As an application we extend to this setting classical results of Lichnerowicz and Kobayashi on the parallelism and vanishing of appropriate holomorphic tensor fields.
A notion of almost periodic current is introduced, as well as a notion of almost periodic holomorphic chain proceeded from that definition. Such a chain can be defined either as a special case of almost periodic currents or as a holomorphic chain whose trace measure is an almost periodic distribution. It is shown that in general situation almost periodicity of the trace of a current does not imply that for the current itself, even if it is closed and positive. The zero set (regarded as a holomorphic chain) of a holomorphic mapping can be represented as a Monge-Ampere type current, and one coul…
The purpose of this article is to show a second main theorem with the explicit truncation level for holomorphic mappings of $ \mathbb{C} $ (or of a compact Riemann surface) into a compact complex manifold sharing divisors in subgeneral position.
Let X be a compact complex manifold whose anti-canonical line bundle is big. We show that X admits no non-trivial holomorphic vector fields if it is Gibbs stable (at any level). The proof is based on a vanishing result for measure preserving holomorphic vector fields on X of independent interest. As an application it shown that, in general, if the anti-canonical line bundle is big, there are no holomorphic vector fields on X that are tangent to a non-singular irreducible anti-canonical divisor S on X. More generally, the result holds for varieties with log terminal singularities and log pairs.…
In this paper we show that every complex hypersurface $A$ in a Stein manifold $X$ with $H^2(X;\mathbb Z)=0$ is the divisor of a holomorphic function $f$ on $X$ whose critical points are precisely the singular points of $A$. A similar result is proved for complete intersections of higher codimension.
The notions of almost periodicity in the sense of Weyl and Besicovitch of the order p are extended to holomorphic functions on a strip. We prove that the spaces of holomorphic almost periodic functions in the sense of Weyl for various orders p are the same. These spaces are considerably wider than the space of holomorphic uniformly almost periodic functions and considerably narrower than the spaces of holomorphic almost periodic functions in the sense of Besicovitch. Besides we construct examples showing that the spaces of holomorphic almost periodic functions in the sense of Besicovitch for v…
We study germs of singular holomorphic vector fields at the origin of $\Bbb C^n$ of which the linear part is 1-resonant and which have a polynomial normal form. The formal normalizing diffeomorphism is usually divergent at the origin but there exists holomorphic diffeomorphisms in some "sectorial domains" which transform these vector fields into their normal form. In this article, we study the interplay between the small divisors phenomenon and the Gevrey character of the sectorial normalizing diffeomorphisms. We show that the Gevrey ordrer of the latter is linked to the diophantine type of th…
We give an alternative representation of the closure of the Bochner transform of a holomorphic almost periodic mapping in a tube domain. For such mappings we introduce a new notion of amoeba and we show that, for mappings which are regular in the sense of Ronkin, this new notion agrees with Favorov's one. We prove that the amoeba complement of a regular holomorphic almost periodic mapping, defined on Cn and taking its values in Cm+1, is a Henriques m-convex subset of Rn. Finally, we compare some different notions of regularity.
We establish basic results of complex function theory within certain algebras of holomorphic functions on coverings of Stein manifolds (such as algebras of Bohr's holomorphic almost periodic functions on tube domains or algebras of all fibrewise bounded holomorphic functions arising, e.g., in the corona problem for $H^\infty$). In particular, in this context we obtain results on holomorphic extension from complex submanifolds, properties of divisors, corona type theorems, holomorphic analogues of the Peter-Weyl approximation theorem, Hartogs type theorems, characterizations of uniqueness sets,…
Let $f: \mathbb{C} \to X$ be a transcendental holomorphic curve into a complex projective manifold $X$. Let $L$ be a very ample line bundle on $X$. Let $s$ be a very generic holomorphic section of $L$ and $D$ the zero divisor given by $s$. We prove that the \emph{geometric} defect of $D$ (defect of truncation $1$) with respect to $f$ is zero. We also prove that $f$ almost misses general enough analytic subsets on $X$ of codimension $2$.
We establish new results on weighted $L^2$ extension of holomorphic top forms with values in a holomorphic line bundle, from a smooth hypersurface cut out by a holomorphic function. The weights we use are determined by certain functions that we call denominators. We give a collection of examples of these denominators related to the divisor defined by the submanifold.
We develop complex function theory within certain algebras of holomorphic functions on coverings of Stein manifolds. This, in particular, includes the results on holomorphic extension from complex submanifolds, corona type theorems, properties of divisors, holomorphic analogs of the Peter-Weyl approximation theorem, Hartogs type theorems, characterization of uniqueness sets. The model examples of these algebras are: (1) Bohr's algebra of holomorphic almost periodic functions on tube domains; (2) algebra of all fibrewise bounded holomorphic functions (e.g., arising in the corona problem for $H^…
The paper studies semi-almost periodic holomorphic functions on a polydisk which have, in a sense, the weakest possible discontinuities on the boundary torus. The basic result used in the proofs is an extension of the classical Bohr approximation theorem for almost periodic holomorphic functions on a strip to the case of Banach-valued almost periodic holomorphic functions.
We show that in a holomorphic family of compact complex connected manifolds parametrized by an irreducible complex space $S$, assuming that on a dense Zariski open set $S^{*}$ in $S$ the fibres satisfy the $\partial\bar\partial-$lemma, the algebraic dimension of each fibre in this family is at least equal to the minimal algebraic dimension of the fibres in $S^{*}$. For instance, if each fibre in $S^{*}$ are Moishezon, then all fibres are Moishezon.
We study the Banach algebras of bounded holomorphic functions on the unit disk whose boundary values, having, in a sense, the weakest possible discontinuities, belong to the algebra of semi-almost periodic functions on the unit circle. The latter algebra contains as a special case an algebra introduced by Sarason in connection with some problems in the theory of Toeplitz operators.
We extend the notion of amoeba to holomorphic almost periodic functions in tube domains. In this setting, the order of a function in a connected component of the complement to its amoeba is just the mean motion of this function. We also find a correlation between the orders in different components.
We introduce a model for Hermitian holormorphic Deligne cohomology on a projective algebraic manifold which allows to incorporate singular hermitian structures along a normal crossing divisor. In the case of a projective curve, the cup-product in cohomology is shown to correspond to a generalization of the Deligne pairing to line bundles with "good" hermitian metrics in the sense of Mumford and others. A particular case is that of the tangent bundle of the curve twisted by the negative of the singularity divisor of a hyperbolic metric: its cup square (corrected by the total area) is shown to b…
We prove that if a positive closed current is bounded by another one with bounded, continuous or Hoelder continuous super-potentials, then it inherits the same property. There are two different methods to define wedge-products of positive closed currents of arbitrary bi-degree on compact Kaehler manifolds using super-potentials and densities. When the first method applies, we show that the second method also applies and gives the same result. As an application, we obtain a sharp upper bound for the number of isolated periodic points of holomorphic maps on compact Kaehler manifolds whose action…
Let $M$ be a three-dimensional contact manifold and $ψ:D\setminus\{0\}\to M\times{\Bbb R}$ a finite-energy pseudoholomorphic map from a punctured disc in ${\Bbb C}$, that is asymptotic to a periodic orbit of the Reeb vector field. This article examines conditions under which smooth coordinates may be defined in a tubular neighbourhood of the orbit such that $ψ$ resembles a holomorphic curve, invoking comparison with the theory of topological linking of plane complex algebroid curves near a singularity. Examples of this behaviour which are studied in some detail include pseudoholomorphic maps i…
H.Bohr in 1930 proved that if a holomorphic bounded function on a strip is almost periodic on a straight line in the strip, then it is almost periodic on the whole strip. We find some conditions when the result is valid for holomorphic mappings of tube domains to various complex manifolds.
Let $Δ^{2}$ be a ball in the complex vector space $\mathbb{C}^{2}$ centered at the origin, let $f:Δ^{2}\to \mathbb{C}^{2}$ be a holomorphic mapping$,$ with $f(0)=0$, and let $M$ be a positive integer. If the origin 0 is an isolated fixed point of the $M$ th iteration $f^{M}$ of $f,$ then one can define the number $\mathcal{O}_{M}(f,0)$ of periodic orbits of $f$ with period $M$ hidden at the fixed point 0, which has the meaning: any holomorphic mapping $g:Δ^{2}\to \mathbb{C}^{2}$ sufficiently close to $f$ in a neighborhood of the origin has exactly $% \mathcal{O}_{M}(f,0)$ distinct periodic orb…
Let $Δ^{n}$ be the ball $|x|<1$ in the complex vector space $\mathbb{C}% ^{n}$, let $f:Δ^{n}\to \mathbb{C}^{n}$ be a holomorphic mapping and let $M$ be a positive integer. Assume that the origin $% 0=(0,..., 0)$ is an isolated fixed point of both $f$ and the $M$-th iteration $f^{M}$ of $f$. Then for each factor $m$ of $M,$ the origin is again an isolated fixed point of $f^{m}$ and the fixed point index $μ_{f^{m}}(0)$ of $f^{m}$ at the origin is well defined, and so is the (local) Dold's index (see [\ref{Do}]) at the origin:% \begin{equation*} P_{M}(f,0)=\sum_{τ\subset P(M)}(-1)^{#τ}μ_{f^{M:τ}}…
We consider a compact Riemann surface with a holomorphic involution, two marked fixed points of the involution and a divisor obeying an equation up to linear equivalence of divisors involving all this data. Examples of such data are Fermi curves of 2-dimensional periodic Schrödinger operators. We show that the equation has a solution if and only if the two marked points are the only fixed points of the involution.
A Poincaré type Kähler metric on the complement X\D of a simple normal crossing divisor D, in a compact Kähler manifold X, is a Kähler metric on X\D with cusp singularity along D. We relate the Futaki character for holomorphic vector fields parallel to the divisor, defined for any fixed Poincaré type Kähler class, to the classical Futaki character for the relative smooth class. As an application we express a numerical obstruction to the existence of extremal Poincaré type Kähler metrics, in terms of mean scalar curvatures and Futaki characters.
Uniqueness theorems are considered for various types of almost periodic objects: functions, measures, distributions, multisets, holomorphic and meromorphic functions.
