The paper introduces the notion of a locally coalgebra-Galois extension and, as its special case, a locally cleft extension. The necessary and sufficient conditions for a locally coalgebra-Galois extension to be a (global) coalgebra-Galois extension are stated. As an important special case, it is proven, that under not very restrictive conditions the gluing of two locally cleft extensions is a globally coalgebra-Galois extension. As an example, the quantum lens space of positive charge is constructed by gluing of two quantum solid tori.
Weak coalgebra-Galois extensions are studied. A notion of an invertible weak entwining structure is introduced. It is proven that, within an invertible weak entwining structure, the surjectivity of the canonical map implies bijectivity provided the structure coalgebra C is either coseparable or projective as a C-comodule.
Coalgebra-Galois extensions generalise Hopf-Galois extensions, which can be viewed as non-commutative torsors. In this paper it is analysed when a coalgebra-Galois extension is a separable, split, or strongly separable extension.
The notion of a coalgebra-Galois extension is defined as a natural generalisation of a Hopf-Galois extension. It is shown that any coalgebra-Galois extension induces a unique entwining map $ψ$ compatible with the right coaction. For the dual notion of an algebra-Galois coextension it is also proven that there always exists a unique entwining structure compatible with the right action.
A cotensor product A\Box_H P of an H-Hopf Galois extension A and a C-coalgebra Galois extension P, such that P is an (H,C)-bicomodule, is analyzed. Conditions are stated, when A\Box_H P is a C-coalgebra Galois extension and when there exists a strong connection on A\Box_H P. Two examples are given, in both, A and P are Matsumoto spheres, and H=C=C(U(1)).
A natural isomorphism between the cyclic object computing the relative cyclic homology of a homogeneous quotient-coalgebra-Galois extension, and the cyclic object computing the cyclic homology of a Galois coalgebra with SAYD coefficients is presented. The isomorphism can be viewed as the cyclic-homological counterpart of the Takeuchi-Galois correspondence between the left coideal subalgebras and the quotient right module coalgebras of a Hopf algebra. A spectral sequence generalizing the classical computation of Hochschild homology of a Hopf algebra to the case of arbitrary homogeneous quotient…
The notion of locally finite part of the dual coalgebra of certain quantized coordinate rings is introduced. In the case of irreducible flag manifolds this locally finite part is shown to coincide with a natural quotient coalgebra V of U_q(g). On the way the coradical filtration of V is determined. A graded version of the duality between V and the quantized coordinate ring is established. This leads to a natural construction of several examples of quantized vector spaces. As an application covariant first order differential calculi on quantized irreducible flag manifolds are classified. Keywor…
For a given entwining structure $(A,C)_ψ$ involving an algebra $A$, a coalgebra $C$, and an entwining map $ψ: C\otimes A\to A\otimes C$, a category $\M_A^C(ψ)$ of right $(A,C)_ψ$-modules is defined and its structure analysed. In particular, the notion of a measuring of $(A,C)_ψ$ to $(\tA,\tC)_\tpsi$ is introduced, and certain functors between $\M_A^C(ψ)$ and $\M_\tA^\tC(\tpsi)$ induced by such a measuring are defined. It is shown that these functors are inverse equivalences iff they are exact (or one of them faithfully exact) and the measuring satisfies a certain Galois-type condition. Next, l…
Locally finiteness of some varieties of nonassociative coalgebras is studied and the Gelfand-Dorfman construction for Novikov coalgebras and the Kantor construction for Jordan super-coalgebras are given. We give examples of a non-locally finite differential coalgebra, Novikov coalgebra, Lie coalgebra, Jordan super-coalgebra, and right-alternative coalgebra. The dual algebra of each of these examples satisfies very strong additional identities. We also constructed examples of an infinite dimensional simple differential coalgebra, Novikov coalgebra, Lie coalgebra, and Jordan super-coalgebra over…
In this short note, we show that the cohomology of an algebra entwined with a coalgebra as defined by T. Brzeziński (J. Algebra 235 (2001), no. 1, 176--202; arXiv:math.RA/9909108) computes the Hochschild cohomology of the subalgebra of coinvariants when the extension is Galois.
We show that there exists a Galois correspondence between subalgebras of an H-comodule algebra A over a base ring R and generalised quotients of a Hopf algebra H if both A and H are flat Mittag--Leffler modules. We also provide new criteria for subalgebras and generalised quotients to be closed elements of the Galois connection constructed. We generalise the Schauenburg theory of admissible objects to this more general context. Then we consider coextensions of H-module coalgebras. We construct a Galois connection for them and we prove that H-Galois coextensions are closed. We apply the results…
We show that there exists a Galois correspondence between subalgebras of an H-comodule algebra A over a base ring R and generalised quotients of a Hopf algebra H. We also show that Q-Galois subextensions are closed elements of the constructed Galois connection. Then we consider the theory of coextensions of H-module coalgebras. We construct Galois theory for them and we prove that H-Galois coextensions are closed. We apply the obtained results to the Hopf algebra itself and we show a simple proof that there is a bijection correspondence between right ideal coideals of H and its left coideal su…
The theory of general Galois-type extensions is presented, including the interrelations between coalgebra extensions and algebra (co)extensions, properties of corresponding (co)translation maps, and rudiments of entwinings and factorisations. To achieve broad perspective, this theory is placed in the context of far reaching generalisations of the Galois condition to the setting of corings. At the same time, to bring together K-theory and general Galois theory, the equivariant projectivity of extensions is assumed resulting in the centrepiece concept of a principal extension. Motivated by nonco…
We introduce the notion of a non-degenerate solution of the braid equation on the incidence coalgebra of a locally finite order. Each one of these solutions induce by restriction a non-degenerate set theoretic solution over the underlying set. So, it makes sense to ask if a non-degenerate set theoretic solution on the underlying set of a locally finite order extends to a non-degenerate solution on its incidence coalgebra. In this paper we begin the study of this problem.
We describe a locally trivial quantum principal U(1)-bundle over the quantum space S^2_{pq} which is a noncommutative analogue of the usual Hopf bundle. We also provide results concerning the structure of its total space algebra (irreducible *-representations and topological K-groups) and its Galois aspects (Galois property, existence of a strong connection, non-cleftness).
We introduce and study a general concept of integral of a threetuple (H, A, C), where H is a Hopf algebra acting on a coalgebra C and coacting on an algebra A. In particular, quantum integrals associated to Yetter-Drinfel'd modules are defined. Let A be an H-bicomodule algebra, $^H {\cal YD}_A$ be the category of (generalized) Yetter-Drinfel'd modules and $B$ the subalgebra of coinvariants of the Verma structure of $A$. We introduce the concept of quantum Galois extensions and we prove the affineness criterion in a quantum version.
In previous work, to each Hopf algebra H and each invertible right two-cocycle on H, Eli Aljadeff and the first-named author attached a subalgebra B of the free commutative Hopf algebra S generated by the coalgebra underlying H; the algebra B is the subalgebra of coinvariants of a generic Hopf Galois extension. In this paper we give conditions under which S is faithfully flat, or even free, as a B-module. We also show that B is generated as an algebra by certain elements arising from the theory of polynomial identities for comodule algebras developped jointly with Aljadeff.
Let A be an H-Galois extension of B. If M is a Hopf bimodule then HH.(A,M), the Hochschild homology of A with coefficients in M, is a right comodule over the coalgebra C:=H/[H,H]. Given an injective left C-comodule V, we denote the cotensor product of M and V by N. Our aim is to investigate the relationship between the cotensor product of HH.(A,M) and V, on the one hand, and HH.(B,N) on the other hand. The roots of this problem can be found in Lorenz's work on the descent of Hochschild homology of centrally Galois extensions, where HH.(A)^G, the subspace of invariant cycles with respect to the…
We study the bialgebra structures on quiver coalgebras and the monoidal structures on the categories of locally nilpotent and locally finite quiver representations. It is shown that the path coalgebra of an arbitrary quiver admits natural bialgebra structures. This endows the category of locally nilpotent and locally finite representations of an arbitrary quiver with natural monoidal structures from bialgebras. We also obtain theorems of Gabriel type for pointed bialgebras and hereditary finite pointed monoidal categories.
In this article, we investigate the notion of a Galois object for a locally compact quantum group M. Such an object consists of a von Neumann algebra N equipped with an ergodic integrable coaction of M on N, such that the crossed product is a type I factor. We show how to construct from such a coaction a new locally compact quantum group P, which we call the reflection of M along N. By way of application, we prove the following statement: any twisting of a locally compact quantum group by a unitary 2-cocycle is again a locally compact quantum group.
Entwined modules arose from the coalgebra-Galois theory. They are a generalisation of unified Doi-Hopf modules. In this paper, Frobenius properties and Maschke-type theorems, known for Doi-Hopf modules are extended to the case of entwined modules.
The Chern-Galois theory is developed for corings or coalgebras over non-commutative rings. As the first step the notion of an entwined extension as an extension of algebras within a bijective entwining structure over a non-commutative ring is introduced. A strong connection for an entwined extension is defined and it is shown to be closely related to the Galois property and to the equivariant projectivity of the extension. A generalisation of the Doi theorem on total integrals in the framework of entwining structures over a non-commutative ring is obtained, and the bearing of strong connection…
This paper is a written form of a talk. It gives a review of various notions of Galois (and in particular cleft) extensions. Extensions by coalgebras, bialgebras and Hopf algebras (over a commutative base ring) and by corings, bialgebroids and Hopf algebroids (over a non-commutative base algebra) are systematically recalled and compared. In the first version of this paper, the journal version of [15, Theorem 2.6] was heavily used, in two respects. First, it was applied to establish an isomorphism between the comodule categories of two constituent bialgebroids in a Hopf algebroid. Second, it was …
The irreducible *-representations of the polynomial algebra O(S^3_{pq}) of the quantum 3-sphere introduced by Calow and Matthes are classified. The K-groups of its universal C*-algebra are shown to coincide with their classical counterparts. The U(1)-action on O(S^3_{pq}) corresponding for p=1=q to the classical Hopf fibration is proven to be Galois (free). The thus obtained locally trivial Hopf-Galois extension is shown to be relatively projective (admitting a strong connection) and non-cleft. The latter is proven by determining an appropriate Chern-Connes pairing.
