Entwined modules arose from the coalgebra-Galois theory. They are a generalisation of unified Doi-Hopf modules. In this paper, Frobenius properties and Maschke-type theorems, known for Doi-Hopf modules are extended to the case of entwined modules.

Frobenius and Mashke type Theorems for Doi-Hopf modules and entwined modules revisited: a unified approach

We study when induction functors (and their adjoints) between categories of Doi-Hopf modules and, more generally, entwined modules are separable, resp. Frobenius. We present a unified approach, leading to new proofs of old results by the authors, as well as to some new ones. Also our methods provide a categorical explanation for the relationship between separability and Frobenius properties.

The structure of corings: Induction functors, Maschke-type theorem, and Frobenius and Galois-type properties

Given a ring $A$ and an $A$-coring $\cC$ we study when the forgetful functor from the category of right $\cC$-comodules to the category of right $A$-modules and its right adjoint $-\otimes_A\cC$ are separable. We then proceed to study when the induction functor $-\otimes_A\cC$ is also the left adjoint of the forgetful functor. This question is closely related to the problem when $A\to {}_A{\rm Hom}(\cC,A)$ is a Frobenius extension. Maschke type theorems for Hopf monoids

We study integrals of Hopf monoids in duoidal endohom categories of naturally Frobenius map monoidales in monoidal bicategories. We prove two Maschke type theorems, relating the separability of the underlying monoid and comonoid, respectively, to the existence of normalized integrals. It covers the examples provided by Hopf monoids in braided monoidal categories, weak Hopf algebras, Hopf algebroids over central base algebras, Hopf monads on autonomous monoidal categories and Hopf categories.

Strong connections and the relative Chern-Galois character for corings

The Chern-Galois theory is developed for corings or coalgebras over non-commutative rings. As the first step the notion of an entwined extension as an extension of algebras within a bijective entwining structure over a non-commutative ring is introduced. A strong connection for an entwined extension is defined and it is shown to be closely related to the Galois property and to the equivariant projectivity of the extension. The double algebraic view of finite quantum groupoids

This is an introduction to double algebras which is the structure modelled by the properties of the convolution product in Hopf algebras, weak Hopf algebras and in Hopf algebroids. We show that Hopf algebroids with a Frobenius integral can be characterized as the double algebras in which the two multiplications satisfy distributivity. We discuss questions of duality, antipode, Maschke theorem and examples.

Algebra depth in tensor categories

Study of the quotient module of a finite-dimensional Hopf subalgebra pair in order to compute its depth yields a relative Maschke Theorem, in which semisimple extension is characterized as being separable, and is therefore an ordinary Frobenius extension.
