Given a Poisson (or more generally Dirac) manifold $P$, there are two approaches to its geometric quantization: one involves a circle bundle $Q$ over $P$ endowed with a Jacobi (or Jacobi-Dirac) structure; the other one involves a circle bundle with a (pre-) contact groupoid structure over the (pre-) symplectic groupoid of $P$. We study the relation between these two prequantization spaces. We show that the circle bundle over the (pre-) symplectic groupoid of $P$ is obtained from the groupoid of $Q$ via an $S^1$ reduction that preserves both the groupoid and the geometric structure.
We show the existence of a symplectic structure on the moduli space of the Seiberg-Witten equations on $Σ\times Σ$ where $Σ$ is a compact oriented Riemann surface. To prequantize the moduli space, we construct a Quillen-type determinant line bundle on it and show its curvature is proportional to the symplectic form.
Given a compact symplectic manifold $M$, with integral symplectic form, we prequantize a certain class of functions on the path space for $M$. The functions in question are induced by functions on $M$. We apply our construction to study the symplectic structure on the solution space of Klein-Gordon equation.
We show how characteristic classes determine equivariant prequantization bundles over the space of connections on a principal bundle. These bundles are shown to generalize the Chern-Simons line bundles to arbitrary dimensions. Our result applies to arbitrary bundles, and it is studied the action of both the gauge group and the automorphisms group. The action of the elements in the connected component of the identity of the group generalizes known results in the literature. The action of the elements not connected with the identity is shown to be determined by a characteristic class by using di…
We adapt the framework of geometric quantization to the polysymplectic setting. Considering prequantization as the extension of symmetries from an underlying polysymplectic manifold to the space of sections of a Hermitian vector bundle, a natural definition of prequantum vector bundle is obtained which incorporates in an essential way the action of the space of coefficients. We define quantization with respect to a polarization and to a spin$^\text{c}$ structure. In the presence of a complex polarization, it is shown that the polysymplectic Guillemin-Sternberg conjecture is false. We conclude …
We review how a reduction procedure along a principal fibration and an unfolding procedure associated to a suitable momentum map allow to describe the Kähler geometry of a finite dimensional complex projective spaces.
We introduce various versions of spin structures on free loop spaces of smooth manifolds, based on a classical notion due to Killingback, and additionally coupled to two relations between loops: thin homotopies and loop fusion. The central result of this article is an equivalence between these enhanced versions of spin structures on the loop space and string structures on the manifold itself. The equivalence exists in two settings: in a purely topological one and a in geometrical one that includes spin connections and string connections. Our results provide a consistent, functorial, one-to-one…
The big phase space, the geometric setting for the study of quantum cohomology with gravitational descendents, is a complex manifold and consists of an infinite number of copies of the small phase space. The aim of this paper is to define a Hermitian geometry on the big phase space. Using the approach of Dijkgraaf and Witten, we lift various geometric structures of the small phase space to the big phase space. The main results of our paper state that various notions from tt*-geometry are preserved under such liftings.
In this paper, we first establish an equivalence theorem of Minkowski spaces by using results in centro-affine differential geometry. As an application in Finsler geometry, we gives some new characterizations of Berwald spaces.
The lightlike geometry of codimension two spacelike submanifolds in Lorentz-Minkowski space has been developed in [Izumiya, S. and Romero Fuster, M. C. Selecta Mathematica (NS), 13 23--55 (2007)] which is a natural Lorentzian analogue of the classical Euclidean differential geometry of hypersurfaces. In this paper we investigate a special class of surfaces (i.e., marginally trapped surfaces) in Minkowski space-time from the view point of the lightlike geometry.
A world sheet in Lorentz-Minkowski space is a timelike submanifold consisting of a one-parameter family of spacelike submanifolds in Lorentz-Minkowski space. In this paper we investigate differential geometry of world sheets in Lorentz-Minkowski space as an application of the theory of big wave fronts.
In this paper, we establish equiform differential geometry of space and timelike curves in 4-dimensional Minkowski space. We obtain some conditions for these curves. Also, general helices with respect to their equiform curvatures are characterized.
In this article, we present recent developments of information geometry, namely, geometry of the Fisher metric, dualistic structures and divergences on the space of probability measures, particularly the theory of geodesics of the Fisher metric. Moreover, we consider several facts concerning the barycenter of probability measures on the ideal boundary of a Hadamard manifold from a viewpoint of the information geometry.
The differential geometry of $3$-dimensional Bianchi, Cartan and Vranceanu ($BCV$) spaces is well known. We introduce the extended Bianchi, Cartan and Vranceanu ($EBCV$) spaces as a natural seven dimensional generalization of $BCV$ spaces and study some of their main geometric properties, such as the Levi-Civita connection, Ricci curvatures, Killing fields and geodesics.
In this survey article we provide an introduction to submanifold geometry in symmetric spaces of noncompact type. We focus on the construction of examples and the classification problems of homogeneous and isoparametric hypersurfaces, polar and hyperpolar actions, and homogeneous CPC submanifolds.
Motivated by spectral asymptotics for orbital integrals in a relative trace formula, we generalize a number of geometric properties of geodesics in the hyperbolic plane, to maximal flat submanifolds of symmetric spaces of non-compact type.
Information geometry is an important tool to study statistical models. There are some important examples in statistical models which are regarded as warped products. In this paper, we study information geometry of warped products. We consider the case where the warped product and its fiber space are equipped with dually flat connections and, in the particular case of a cone, characterize the connections on the base space $\mathbb{R}_{>0}$. The resulting connections turn out to be the $α$-connections with $α= \pm{1}$.
Differential Geometry of Microlinear Frolicher Spaces I
综合微分几何的中心对象是微线性空间。在我们之前的论文[Microlinearity in Frolicher spaces -beyond the regnant philosophy of manifolds-,International Journal of Pure and应用数学,60(2010),15-24]中,我们已经将微线性从适应良好的模型中解放到Frolicher空间。
In this article we show how holomorphic Riemannian geometry can be used to relate certain submanifolds in one pseudo-Riemannian space to submanifolds with corresponding geometric properties in other spaces. In order to do so, we shall first rephrase and extend some background theory on holomorphic Riemannian manifolds, which is essential for the later application of the presented method.
Albeverio, Kondratiev, and Röckner have introduced a type of differential geometry, which we call lifted geometry, for the configuration space $Γ_X$ of any manifold $X$. The name comes from the fact that various elements of the geometry of $Γ_X$ are constructed via lifting of the corresponding elements of the geometry of $X$. In this note, we construct a general algebraic framework for lifted geometry which can be applied to various ``infinite dimensional spaces'' associated to $X$. In order to define a lifted geometry for a ``space'', one dose not need any topology or local coordinate system …
We survey some recent developments in the asymptotic geometry of the Hitchin moduli space, starting with an introduction to the Hitchin moduli space and hyperkähler geometry.
The Siegel-Jacobi space is a non-symmetric homogeneous space which is very important geometrically and arithmetically. In this paper, we discuss the theory of the geometry and the arithmetic of the Siegel-Jacobi space.
A common approach to metric-affine, local Poincaré, special-relativistic and Galilei spacetime geometry is developed. Starting from an affine composite bundle, we introduce local reference frames and their evolution along worldlines and we study both, absolute and relative simultaneity postulates, giving rise to alternative concepts of spacetime. In particular, the construction of the Minkowski metric, and its required invariance, allows either to reorganize the original affine bundle as a metric-affine geometry with explicit Lorentz symmetry, or to restrict it to a Poincaré geometry, both of …
