The Kaehler manifolds of quasi-constant holomorphic sectional curvatures are introduced as Kaehler manifolds with complex distribution of codimension two, whose holomorphic sectional curvature only depends on the corresponding point and the geometric angle, associated with the section. A curvature identity characterizing such manifolds is found. The biconformal group of transformations whose elements transform Kaehler metrics into Kaehler ones is introduced and biconformal tensor invariants are obtained. This makes it possible to classify the manifolds under consideration locally. The class of locally biconformal flat Kaehler metrics is shown to be exactly the class of Kaehler metrics whose potential function is only a function of the distance from the origin in complex Euclidean space. Finally we show that any rotational even dimensional hypersurface carries locally a natural Kaehler structure, which is of quasi-constant holomorphic sectional curvatures.
We obtain a class of locally symmetric Kaehler Einstein structures on the cotangent bundle of a Riemannian manifold of negative sectional curvature. Similar results are obtained in the case of a Riemannian manifold of positive sectional curvature. The obtained class of Kaehler Einstein structures depends on one essential parameter and cannot have constant holomorphic sectional curvature.
We obtain a locally symmetric Kaehler Einstein structure on the cotangent bundle of a Riemannian manifold of negative constant sectional curvature. Similar results are obtained on a tube around zero section in the cotangent bundle, in the case of a Riemannian manifold of positive constant sectional curvature. The obtained Kaehler Einstein structures cannot have constant holomorphic sectional curvature.
We obtain a locally symmetric Kaehler Einstein structure on a tube in the nonzero cotangent bundle of a Riemannian manifold of positive constant sectional curvature. The obtained Kaehler Einstein structure cannot have constant holomorphic sectional curvature.
We obtain a class of Kaehler Einstein structures on the nonzero cotangent bundle of a Riemannian manifold of positive constant sectional curvature. The obtained class of Kaehler Einstein structure depends on one essential parameter, cannot have constant holomorphic sectional curvature and is not locally symmetric.
We obtain a class of locally symetric Kaehler Einstein structures on the nonzero cotangent bundle of a Riemannian manifold of positive constant sectional curvature. The obtained class of Kaehler Einstein structures depends on one essential parameter and cannot have constant holomorphic sectional curvature.
We give an analog of triangle comparison for Kaehler manifolds with a lower bound on the holomorphic bisectional curvature. We show that the condition passes to noncollapsed Gromov-Hausdorff limits. We discuss tangent cones and singular Kaehler spaces.
We prove that every Kaehler metric, whose potential is a function of the time-like distance in the flat Kaehler-Lorentz space, is of quasi-constant holomorphic sectional curvatures, satisfying certain conditions. This gives a local classification of the Kaehler manifolds with the above mentioned metrics. New examples of Sasakian space forms are obtained as real hypersurfaces of a Kaehler space form with special invariant distribution. We introduce three types of even dimensional rotational hypersurfaces in flat spaces and endow them with locally conformal Kaehler structures. We prove that thes…
We obtain a Kaehler Einstein structure on the nonzero cotangent bundle of a Riemannian manifold of positive constant sectional curvature. The obtained Kaehler Einstein structure cannot have constant holomorphic sectional curvature and is not locally symmetric.
We prove that the compact Kaehler manifolds with first Chern class nonnegative that admit holomorphic parabolic geometries are the flat bundles of rational homogeneous varieties over complex tori. We also prove that the compact Kaehler manifolds with negative first Chern class that admit holomorphic cominiscule geometries are the locally Hermitian symmetric varieties.
The purpose of this paper is to establish a partial regularity theory on certain homogeneous complex Monge-Ampere equations. As consequences of this new theory, we prove the uniqueness of extremal Kaehler metrics and give an necessary condition for existence of extremal Kaehler metrics.
We study Kaehlerian manifolds with Norden metric $g$ and develop the theory of their holomorphic hypersurfaces with constant totally real sectional curvatures. We prove a classification theorem for the holomorphic hypersurfaces of $(\mathbb{R}^{2n+2}, g, J)$ with constant totally real sectional curvatures.
Using as an underlying manifold an alpha-Sasakian manifold we introduce warped product Kaehler manifolds. We prove that if the underlying manifold is an alpha-Sasakian space form, then the corresponding Kaehler manifold is of quasi-constant holomorphic sectional curvatures with special distribution. Conversely, we prove that any Kaehler manifold of quasi-constant holomorphic sectional curvatures with special distribution locally has the structure of a warped product Kaehler manifold whose base is an alpha-Sasakian space form. Considering the scalar distribution generated by the scalar curvatur…
Let H be a 4 dimensional almost Hermitian manifold which satisfies the Kaehler identity. Then H is complex Osserman if and only if H has constant holomorphic sectional curvature. We also classify in arbitrary dimensions all the complex Osserman Kaehler manifolds which do not have 3 eigenvalues.
Let (M,g,J) be a compact Hermitian manifold with a smooth boundary. Let $Δ_p$ and $D_p$ be the realizations of the real and complex Laplacians on p forms with either Dirichlet or Neumann boundary conditions. We generalize previous results in the closed setting to show that (M,g,J) is Kaehler if and only if $Spec(Δ_p)=Spec(2D_p)$ for p=0,1. We also give a characterization of manifolds with constant sectional curvature or constant Ricci tensor (in the real setting) and manifolds of constant holomorphic sectional curvature (in the complex setting) in terms of spectral geometry.
We consider 6-dimensional strict nearly Kaehler manifolds acted on by a compact, cohomogeneity one automorphism group G. We classify the compact manifolds of this class up to G-diffeomorphisms. We also prove that the manifold has constant sectional curvature whenever the group G is simple.
In dimension greater than four, we prove that if a Hermitian non-Kaehler manifold is of pointwise constant antiholomorphic sectional curvatures, then it is of constant sectional curvatures.
In this note we give a characterization of Kaehler metrics which are both Calabi extremal and Kaehler-Ricci solitons in terms of complex Hessians and the Riemann curvature tensor. We apply it to prove that, under the assumption of positivity of the holomorphic sectional curvature, these metrics are Einstein.
A recent celebrated theorem of Diverio-Trapani and Wu-Yau states that a compact Kähler manifold admitting a Kähler metric of quasi-negative holomorphic sectional curvature has an ample canonical line bundle, confirming a conjecture of Yau. In this paper we shall consider a natural notion of almost quasi-negative holomorphic sectional curvature and extend this theorem to compact Kähler manifolds of almost quasi-negative holomorphic sectional curvature. We also obtain a gap-type theorem for the inequality $\int_Xc_1(K_X)^n>0$ in terms of the holomorphic sectional curvature. In the discussions, w…
We prove that any $4$-dimensional almost-Kähler Lie algebra of constant Hermitian holomorphic sectional curvature with respect to the canonical Hermitian connection is Kähler.
Let $f\colon M^{2n}\to\mathbb{R}^{2n+4}$ be an isometric immersion of a Kaehler manifold of complex dimension $n\geq 5$ into Euclidean space with complex rank at least $5$ everywhere. Our main result is that, along each connected component of an open dense subset of $M^{2n}$, either $f$ is holomorphic in $\mathbb{R}^{2n+4}\cong\mathbb{C}^{n+2}$ or it is in a unique way a composition $f=F\circ h$ of isometric immersions. In the latter case, we have that $h\colon M^{2n}\to N^{2n+2}$ is holomorphic and $F\colon N^{2n+2}\to\mathbb{R}^{2n+4}$ belongs to the class, by now quite well understood, of n…
In this paper, we mainly study the mean curvature flow in Kähler surfaces with positive holomorphic sectional curvatures. We prove that if the ratio of the maximum and the minimum of the holomorphic sectional curvatures is less than 2, then there exists a positive constant $δ$ depending on the ratio such that $\cosα\geqδ$ is preserved along the flow.
We study surfaces in TN that are area-stationary with respect to a neutral Kaehler metric constructed on TN from a riemannian metric g on N. We show that holomorphic curves in TN are area-stationary, while lagrangian surfaces that are area-stationary are also holomorphic and hence totally null. However, in general, area stationary surfaces are not holomorphic. We prove this by constructing counter-examples. In the case where g is rotationally symmetric, we find all area stationary surfaces that arise as graphs of sections of the bundle TN$\to$N and that are rotationally symmetric. When (N,g) i…
We present several local and global results on isometric immersions of Kaehler manifolds $M^{2n}$ into hyperbolic space $\Hy^{2n+p}$. For instance, a classification is given in the case of dimension $n\geq 4$ and codimension $p=2$. Moreover, as corollaries of general results, we conclude that there are no isometric immersion in codimension $p\leq n-2$ if the Kaehler manifold is of dimension $n\geq 4$ and either has a point of positive holomorphic sectional curvature or is compact.
We prove the following theorem for Holomorphic Foliations in compact complex kaehler manifolds: if there is a compact leaf with finite holonomy, then every leaf is compact with finite holonomy. As corollary we reobtain stability theorems for compact foliations in Kaehler manifolds of Edwards-Millett-Sullivan and Hollman.
In this paper, we get an inequality in terms of holomorphic sectional curvature of complex Finsler metrics. As applications, we prove a Schwarz Lemma from a complete Riemannian manifold to a complex Finsler manifold. We also show that a strongly pseudoconvex complex Finsler manifold with semi-positive but not identically zero holomorphic sectional curvature has negative Kodaira dimension under an extra condition.
We study the conditions under which a Kählerian structure $(G,J)$ of general natural lift type on the cotangent bundle $T^*M$ of a Riemannian manifold $(M,g)$ has constant holomorphic sectional curvature. We obtain that a certain parameter involved in the condition for $(T^*M,G,J)$ to be a Kählerian manifold, is expressed as a rational function of the other two, their derivatives, the constant sectional curvature of the base manifold $(M,g)$, and the constant holomorphic sectional curvature of the general natural Kählerian structure $(G,J)$.
On a compact Kähler manifold, we introduce a notion of almost nonpositivity for the holomorphic sectional curvature, which by definition is weaker than the existence of a Kähler metric with semi-negative holomorphic sectional curvature. We prove that a compact Kähler manifold of almost nonpositive holomorphic sectional curvature has a nef canonical line bundle, contains no rational curves and satisfies some Miyaoka-Yau type inequalities. In the course of the discussions, we attach a real value to any fixed Kähler class which, up to a constant factor depending only on the dimension of manifold,…
Let $M$ be a real $l$-dimensional minimal submanifold with flat normal connection in a kaehler product manifold $\overline{M}^m\times \overline{M}^n$ where $\overline{M}^m$ and $\overline{M}^n$ are complex $m$-dimensional and complex $n$-dimensional kaehler manifolds with constant holomorphic sectional curvature $c_1$ and $c_2$ respectively. We give a formula for the Laplacian of the second fundamental form of $M$. Specially we discuss the F-anti invariant case. We also give some applications of this formula.
A hyperkaehler manifold with a circle action fixing just one complex structure admits a natural a hyperholomorphic line bundle. This forms the basis for the construction of a corresponding quaternionic Kaehler manifold in the work of A.Haydys. We construct in this paper the corresponding holomorphic line bundle on twistor space and compute many examples, including monopole and Higgs bundle moduli spaces. We also show that the bundle on twistor space has a natural meromorphic connection which realizes it as the quantum line bundle for the hyperkaehler family of holomorphic symplectic structures…
Motivated by a recent work of Chen-Zheng [8] on Strominger space forms, we prove that a compact Hermitian surface with pointwise constant holomorphic sectional curvature with respect to a Gauduchon connection $\nabla^t $ is either Kähler, or an isosceles Hopf surface with an admissible metric and $t=-1$ or $t=3$. In particular, a compact Hermitian surface with pointwise constant Lichnerowicz holomorphic sectional curvature is Kähler. We further generalize the result to the case for the two-parameter canonical connections introduced by Zhao-Zheng [30], which extends a previous result by Apostol…
We construct some families of complex structures on compact manifolds by means of normal almost contact structures (nacs) so that each complex manifold in the family has a non-singular holomorphic flow. These families include as particular cases the Hopf and Calabi-Eckmann manifolds and the complex structures on the product of two normal almost contact manifolds constructed by Morimoto. We prove that every compact Kaehler manifold admitting a non-vanishing holomorphic vector field belongs to one of these families and is a complexificacion of a normal almost contact manifold. Finally we show th…
In this paper, we construct a set of new functionals of Ricci curvature on any Kaehler manifolds which are invariant under holomorphic transfermations in Kaehler Einstein manifolds and essentially decreasing under the Kaehler Ricci flow. Moreover, if the initial metric has non-negative bisectional curvature, using Tian's inequality, we can prove that each of the functionals has uniform lower bound along the flow which gives a set of integral estimates on curvature. Using this set of integral estimates, we are able to show the following theorem: Let M be a Kaehler-Einstein surface with positive…
It is shown that the singular set for the Yang-Mills flow on unstable holomorphic vector bundles over compact Kaehler manifolds is completely determined by the Harder-Narasimhan-Seshadri filtration of the initial holomorphic bundle. We assign a multiplicity to irreducible top dimensional components of the singular set of a holomorphic bundle with a filtration by saturated subsheaves. We derive a singular Bott-Chern formula relating the second Chern form of a smooth metric on the bundle to the Chern current of an admissible metric on the associated graded sheaf. This is used to show that the mu…
We show that a closed almost Kähler 4-manifold of globally constant holomorphic sectional curvature $k\geq 0$ with respect to the canonical Hermitian connection is automatically Kähler. The same result holds for $k<0$ if we require in addition that the Ricci curvature is J-invariant. The proofs are based on the observation that such manifolds are self-dual, so that Chern-Weil theory implies useful integral formulas, which are then combined with results from Seiberg--Witten theory.
In this paper, we shall give some affirmative answer to an extremal Kaehler version of the Yau-Tian-Donaldson Conjecture. For a polarized algebraic manifold $(X,L)$, we choose a maximal algebraic torus $T$ in the group of holomorphic automorphisms of $X$. Then the polarization class $c_1(L)$ will be shown to admit an extremal Kaehler metric if $(X,L)$ is strongly K-stable relative to $T$.
We introduce holomorphic Riemannian maps between almost Hermitian manifolds as a generalization of holomorphic submanifolds and holomorphic submersions, give examples and obtain a geometric characterization of harmonic holomorphic Riemannian maps from almost Hermitian manifolds to Kaehler manifolds.
We study Riemannian foliations with complex leaves on Kaehler manifolds. The tensor T, the obstruction to the foliation be totally geodesic, is interpreted as a holomorphic section of a certain vector bundle. This enables us to give classification results when the manifold is compact.
In this work, we obtain a existence criteria for the longtime Kähler Ricci flow solution. Using the existence result, we generalize a result by Wu-Yau on the existence of Kähler Einstein metric to the case with possibly unbounded curvature. Moreover, the Kähler Einstein metric with negative scalar curvture must be unique up to scaling.
A type of almost contact hypersurfaces with Norden metric of a Kaehler manifold with Norden metric is considered. The curvature tensor and the special sectional curvatures are characterized. The canonical connection on such manifolds is studied and the form of the corresponding Kaehler curvature tensor is obtained. Some curvature properties of the manifolds belonging to the widest integrable main class of the considered type of hypersurfaces are given.
A classical result of D. McDuff asserts that a simply-connected complete Kaehler manifold $(M,g,ω)$ with non positive sectional curvature admits global symplectic coordinates through a symplectomorphism $Ψ: M\rightarrow R^{2n}$ (where $n$ is the complex dimension of $M$), satisfying the following property (proved by E. Ciriza): the image $Ψ(T)$ of any complex totally geodesic submanifold $T\subset M$ through the point $p$ such that $Ψ(p)=0$, is a complex linear subspace of $C^n \simeq R^{2n}$. The aim of this paper is to exhibit, for all positive integers $n$, examples of $n$-dimensional compl…
We prove that any simply connected special Kaehler manifold admits a canonical immersion as a parabolic affine hypersphere. As an application, we associate a parabolic affine hypersphere to any nondegenerate holomorphic function. Also we show that a classical result of Calabi and Pogorelov on parabolic spheres implies Lu's theorem on complete special Kaehler manifolds with a positive definite metric.
A well known conjecture in complex geometry states that a compact Hermitian manifold with constant holomorphic sectional curvature must be Kähler if the constant is non-zero and must be Chern flat if the constant is zero. The conjecture is confirmed in complex dimension $2$, by the work of Balas-Gauduchon in 1985 (when the constant is zero or negative) and by Apostolov-Davidov-Muskarov in 1996 (when the constant is positive). For higher dimensions, the conjecture is still largely unknown. In this article, we restrict ourselves to the class of complex nilmanifolds and confirm the conjecture in …
In this paper, we mainly study the mean curvature flow in Kähler surfaces with positive holomorphic sectional curvatures. First, we prove that if the ratio $λ$ of the maximum and the minimum of the holomorphic sectional curvatures $< 2$, then there exists a positive constant $δ>\frac{29(λ-1)}{\sqrt{(48-24λ)^{2}+(29λ-29)^{2}}}$ such that $\cosα\geqδ$ is preserved along the flow, improving the main theorem in [LY]; Secondly, as similar as the main theorem in [HL0], we prove that when $\cosα$ is close to $1$ enough, then the symplectic mean curvature flow exists for long time and converges to a h…
We give a general construction of extremal Kaehler metrics on the total space of certain holomorphic submersions, extending results of Dervan-Sektnan, Fine, and Hong. We consider submersions whose fibres admit a degeneration to Kaehler manifolds with constant scalar curvature, in a way that is compatible with the fibration structure. Thus we allow fibres that are K-semistable, rather than K-polystable; this is crucial to moduli theory. On these fibrations we phrase a partial differential equation whose solutions, called optimal symplectic connections, represent a canonical choice of a relative…
Given a positive integer $n$ and a compact connected Riemann surface $X$, we prove that the symmetric product $S^n(X)$ admits a Kaehler form of nonnegative holomorphic bisectional curvature if and only if $\text{genus}(X) \leq 1$. If $n$ is greater than or equal to the gonality of $X$, we prove that $S^n(X)$ does not admit any Kaehler form of nonpositive holomorphic sectional curvature.
Given a Kaehlerian holomorphic fiber bundle whose fiber is a compact homogeneous Kaehler manifold, we describe the perturbed Hermitian-Einstein equations relative to certain holomorphic vector bundles. With respect to special metrics on the holomorphic bundles, there is a dimensional reduction procedure which reduces these equations to a system of equations on the base, known as the twisted coupled vortex equations.
