After gluing foliated complex manifolds, we derive a preparation-like theorem for singularities of codimension one foliations and planar vector fields (in the real or complex setting). Without computation, we retrieve and improve results of Levinson-Moser for functions, Dufour-Zhitomirskii for non degenerate codimension 1 foliations (proving in turn the analyticity), Strozyna-Zoladek for non degenerate planar vector fields and Brjuno-Ecalle for saddle-node foliations in the plane.
In this article, we investigate the stability of leaves of minimal foliations of arbitrary codimension. We also study relations between Jacobi fields and vector fields which preserves a foliation and we use these results to Killing fields.
We extend the classification of homogeneous codimension-one foliations on irreducible Riemannian symmetric spaces of noncompact type obtained by Berndt and Tamaru to the reducible case, thus completing it for all noncompact symmetric spaces.

We discuss the decomposition of degree two basic cohomology for codimension four taut Riemannian foliation according to the holonomy invariant transversal almost complex structure J, and show that J is C pure and full. In addition, we obtain an estimate of the dimension of basic J-anti-invariant subgroup. These are the foliated version for the corresponding results of T. Draghici et al.
We classify hypersurfaces of the Minkowski space $Ł^{n+1}$ that carry a totally geodesic foliation with complete leaves of codimension one. We prove that such a hypersurface is ruled, or a partial tube over a curve or contains a two or three dimensional strip. Moreover, if the hypersurface is embedded then it is a partial tube over a curve.
We classify irreducible polar foliations of codimension $q$ on quaternionic projective spaces $\mathbb H P^n$, for all $(n,q)\neq(7,1)$. We prove that all irreducible polar foliations of any codimension (resp. of codimension one) on $\mathbb H P^n$ are homogeneous if and only if $n+1$ is a prime number (resp. $n$ is even or $n=1$). This shows the existence of inhomogeneous examples of codimension one and higher.
We study holomorphic foliations with an affine homogeneous transverse structure. We give a friendly characterization of the case of transversely affine foliations in terms of matrix valued pairs of differential forms. This leads naturally to the study of the case of foliations with singularities. A first extension theorem is then proved in the generic singularities framework.
The aim of this paper is to study codimension one foliations on rational homogeneous spaces, with a focus on the moduli space of foliations of low degree on Grassmannians and cominuscule spaces. Using equivariant techniques, we show that codimension one degree zero foliations on (ordinary, orthogonal, symplectic) Grassmannians of lines, some spinor varieties, some Lagrangian Grassmannians, the Cayley plane (an $E_6$-variety) and the Freudenthal variety (an $E_7$-variety) are identified with restrictions of foliations on the ambient projective space. We define Seiberg-Witten equations on closed manifolds endowed with a Riemannian foliation of codimension 4. When the foliation is taut, we show compactness of the moduli space under some hypothesis satisfied for instance by closed K-contact manifolds. Furthermore, we prove some vanishing and non-vanishing results and we highlight that the invariants may be used to distinguish different foliations on diffeomorphic manifolds.
Let $\mathscr{F}$ be a singular holomorphic foliation, of codimension $k$, on a complex compact manifold such that its singular set has codimension $\geq k+1$. In this work we determinate Baum-Bott residues for $\mathscr{F}$ with respect to homogeneous symmetric polynomials of degree $k+1$. We present new open manifolds that are not homeomorphic to leaves of any C^0 codimension one foliation of a compact manifold. Among them are simply connected manifolds of dimension 5 or greater that are non-periodic in homotopy or homology, namely in their 2-dimensional homotopy or homology groups.
A class of codimension one foliations has been recently introduced by imposing a natural compatibility condition with a closed maximally non-degenerate 2-form. In this paper we study for such foliations the information captured by a Donaldson type submanifold. In particular we deduce that their leaf spaces are homeomorphic to leaf spaces of 3-dimensional taut foliations. We also introduce surgery constructions to show that this class of foliations is broad enough. Our techniques come mainly from symplectic geometry.
Every open manifold L of dimension greater than one has complete Riemannian metrics g with bounded geometry such that (L,g) is not quasi-isometric to a leaf of a codimension one foliation of a closed manifold. For closed manifolds endowed with a Riemannian foliation of codimension $4$, one can define a transversal Seiberg-Witten map. We show that there is a finite dimensional approximation for such a map. By such a method and under the condition that $H^1_b(M)\cap H^1(M,\mathbb Z)$ is a lattice of $H^1_b(M)$, we can define a foliated version of Bauer-Furuta invariant. In this paper we prove that every smooth complete closed complex hypersurface in the open unit ball $\mathbb{B}_n$ of $\mathbb{C}^n$ $(n\ge 2)$ is a level set of a noncritical holomorphic function on $\mathbb{B}_n$ all of whose level sets are complete. More general, we prove that all nonsingular codimension one distributions on intermediary or generic Hopf manifolds are integrable and has holomorphic integral first. Following Losik's approach to Gelfand's formal geometry, certain characteristic classes for codimension-one foliations coming from the Gelfand-Fuchs cohomology are considered. Sufficient conditions for non-triviality in terms of dynamical properties of generators of the holonomy groups are found. We explicitly compute the diffeomorphism group of several types of linear foliations (with dense leaves) on the torus $T^n$, $n\geq 2$, namely codimension one foliations, flows, and the so-called non-quadratic foliations. We show in particular that non-quadratic foliations are rigid, in the sense that they do not admit transverse diffeomorphisms other than $\pm \id$ and translations. In this short note we give a complete characterization of a certain class of compact corank one Poisson manifolds, those equipped with a closed one-form defining the symplectic foliation and a closed two-form extending the symplectic form on each leaf. If such a manifold has a compact leaf, then all the leaves are compact, and furthermore the manifold is a mapping torus of a compact leaf. These manifolds and their regular Poisson structures admit an extension as the critical hypersurface of a Poisson b-manifold as we consider in a later paper.

We study codimension one holomorphic distributions on the projective three-space, analyzing the properties of their singular schemes and tangent sheaves. In particular, we provide a classification of codimension one distributions of degree at most 2 with locally free tangent sheaves, and show that codimension one distributions of arbitrary degree with only isolated singularities have stable tangent sheaves. We study holomorphic foliations of codimension $k\geq 1$ on a complex manifold $X$ of dimension $n+k$ from the point of view of the exceptional minimal set conjecture. For $n\geq 2$ we show in particular that if the holomorphic normal bundle $N_{\mathcal{F}}$ is Griffiths positive, then the foliation does not admit a compact invariant set that is a complete intersection of $k$ smooth real hypersurfaces in $X$.

Extrinsic Geometric Flow (EGF) for a codimension-one foliation has been recently introduced by authors as deformations of Riemannian metrics subject to quantities expressed in terms of its second fundamental form. In the paper we introduce soliton solutions to EGF and study their geometry for totally umbilical foliations, foliations on surfaces, and when the EGF is produced by the extrinsic Ricci tensor.
In this Note we establish a relation between sections in globally generated holomorphic vector bundles on Kähler manifolds, isotropic with respect to a non-degenerate quadratic form, and totally geodesic foliations on Euclidean open domains. We find a geometric condition for a totally geodesic foliation to originate in a holomorphic vector bundle. For codimension-two foliations, this description recovers of P. Baird and J. C. Wood. The purpose of this paper is to both survey and offer some new results on the non-triviality of the characteristic classes of Riemannian foliations. We give examples where the primary Pontrjagin classes are all linearly independent. The independence of the secondary classes is also discussed, along with their total variation. We show that any co-orientable foliation of dimension two on a closed orientable $3$-manifold with continuous tangent plane field can be $C^0$-approximated by both positive and negative contact structures unless all the leaves are simply connected. As applications we deduce that the existence of a taut $C^0$-foliation implies the existence of universally tight contact structures in the same homotopy class of plane fields and that a closed $3$-manifold that admits a taut $C^0$-foliation of codimension-1 is not an $L$-space in the sense of Heegaard-Floer homology.
