We present new open manifolds that are not homeomorphic to leaves of any C^0 codimension one foliation of a compact manifold. Among them are simply connected manifolds of dimension 5 or greater that are non-periodic in homotopy or homology, namely in their 2-dimensional homotopy or homology groups.
A class of codimension one foliations has been recently introduced by imposing a natural compatibility condition with a closed maximally non-degenerate 2-form. In this paper we study for such foliations the information captured by a Donaldson type submanifold. We classify them under a completeness hypothesis and we deduce the dual classification of codimension 1 geodesically complete timelike totally geodesic foliations. Besides we provide an example of a Lorentzian foliation on a compact 3-manifold which is equicontinuous on a proper dense open subset of the manifold, and hence not transversely complete.

We explicitly compute the diffeomorphism group of several types of linear foliations (with dense leaves) on the torus $T^n$, $n\geq 2$, namely codimension one foliations, flows, and the so-called non-quadratic foliations. We study extrinsic geometry of a codimension-one foliation ${\cal F}$ of a closed Finsler space $(M,F)$, in particular, of a Randers space $(M,α+β)$.
